  1. A very short one panel comic inspired by the famous Han/Greedo scene with a little ironic approach to the "who shot first" quarrel that followed Sorry if the image is too large. I'm currently having problems with image re-sizing.
  2. I introduce you to the Microfighter Millennium Falcon set. As you know, I already own the X-Wing one. These sets are kinda cute. Again, unlike the planet serie, they are made for fun and play around with them, not just for display. I like this Millennium Falcon, I mean, c’mon, it’s Han Solo starship after all! I always preferred him over Luke. But straight away after building the set, and taking pictures, I modified it. You can see what I did to my brand new Millennium Falcon below, alongside the X-Wing... Front view, Han Solo on the left, “in the cockpit”. Kind of. Front view is looking nice. Left side. Cool. Back side. I don’t know why, but I kinda don’t like it that much. Something doing with the nozzles. Right side. Cool too. But this is where I did the mods. Just to get rid of the pilot. I like the Microfighters sets, I don’t want to use the pilot. Bottom side. I don’t like it at all. I might change it one day if I find an idea good enough to get rid of these 4 landing pads. My mods on the X-Wing and the Millennium Falcon. Han Solo – New Version vs Old Version With this set, I have now 2 versions of Han Solo. On the left is the version you get with the A-Wing set, on the right, the version sold with this Microfighter. Starting with the head. A new one, with two different faces. One happy face and one worried face I presume. I prefer the worried one. Suits Han Solo better imho. Torso is the same in both version. Pants are different with this Microfighter version. Different colour and different serigraphy. I prefer this new version of Han Solo. Just because of the two facial expression. It’s kinda great for different game situation while playing. Packaging and Instructions Something about the packaging now. Small classy box. Way nicer than the Planet Serie with its big planet. Front box is the Millennium Falcon, with a very worried Han Solo riding it. Back box is busy showing you lots of stuff. The other models, the Millennuim Falcon and Han Solo alongside and with his happy face, and some ads for their mobile phone applications. It’s too much. The instruction leaflet now. Nothing too difficult while building the set. About 2-4 pieces to add per page. It takes about 10-15 minutes to build. I’m a slow builder because I always do few things at the same time…

    (WIP) M.F. House

I'm nearly finished with this project. It's a combination of a few of my favorite sets. I just need to change a few details and add the interior.

    REVIEW: 5001621 Han Solo (Hoth)

Name: Han Solo (Hoth) Theme: Star Wars Year: 2013 Pieces: 5 Minifigs: 1 Price: (free as part of 'May The Forth Be With You' promotion) Intro: I've always been impressed with the amazing reviews found here on eurobricks, and I've always wanted to do one myself... So thought I'd give it a go and start with a nice easy one! Here we have the Han Solo in his Hoth Outfit from Empire Strikes Back- which is this years promotional figure free with certain purchases from the Lego store. There has been a lot of debate/ controversy over the actual colour of Han's Hoth jacket over the years. Originally the Kenner action figure from 1980 had a dark blue jacket, which is the colour the jacket 'appears' to be in some shots of the film. When you actually see the prop jacket from the film it quite clearly is dark brown, and there have been many different action figures over the years since with either brown or blue jackets. To date Lego's version of Han has only been outfitted with the blue jacket, with just a change in design of hood to differentiate the two... But now we have a brown jacket version- which from what I have read on forums so far continues to cause debate over the 'true' colour of the coat. For what its worth I think I ultimately prefer Blue as the jacket colour, but thats mostly due to the memories of the old Kenner action figure which I still own from my childhood! Polybag: Usual Polybag with the Yoda header seen with all the current Star Wars products this year. Polybag Front and Back Its worth noting that despite the colour on the packaging the hood does match the jacket colour correctly- very strange that they left the image as is on the front... Polybag Contents Minifig: Not much assembly required as only the minifig in the set. We get Han resplendent in his Hoth outfit, along with a spare hairpiece so you can show Han with or without his hood. Unfortunately Han is weaponless in this set, so he's gonna have to rely on Chewie if he comes across any Probe Droids! Front, Back, and Alternate Faces Han has a really nice double sided face. One side has a great 'And I thought they smelled bad on the outside!' grimace on it, the other has his face covered and his goggles down for when he has his endure the freezing temperatures on Hoth. Comparison with Blue Coat Han My original Hoth Han is boxed away at the moment, but here is the New version (right) with the last Han (left) also with the new style hood. Han and his Tauntaun* (*Tauntaun not included in polybag!) And a couple of shots with Han and his Tauntaun in action! Ratings Now I know that from feedback I've seen that a lot of people think this figure is a bit of a letdown after the last couple of 'may the forth' promos. I would agree that he would probably have fit in better in the last Hoth set that got released, rather than an exclusive promotional figure. But that said I really like the figure so I've rated him highly, and as an original trilogy collector Im glad to have him in my collection. Playability: 10/10 Hard one to rate, but ultimately I think minifigures are endlessly playable so Im giving full marks on this one. Design: 10/10 No new parts, but I think the design on this latest update of Hoth Han really nails it. The double sided head is excellent as well. Price: 7/10 Well technically this is a free figure when you spend over a certain threshold- though these are already appearing in the wild. I got mine from a trade, so depending on what you spend to obtain this figure I would adjust the price scale accordingly. Minifigure: 10/10 Well the whole set is the minifigure, personally I really like him- so full marks again on this. Parts: 8/10 Nice that you get the spare hair piece so you can have Han with or without hood, but a blaster is sorely missed here. Overall Score: 45/50 Well thanks for reading my first review- let me know what you think of both the review and the figure. And I thought they smelled bad... On the outside!!

Future of SW Contest: Where's Solo?

This is my entry for the Future of Star Wars Contest in the small category. After spending a year recovering from his stay in the Sarlacc, Boba Fett is back and better than ever. Having heard that Han Solo has traveled to Mandalore to broker a deal for some Beskar to aid the Rebellion's war effort, Fett returns to his cultural homeland to resume the chase; only this time it's personal. At this point, Boba Fett has found the contact that Han is supposed to be meeting... "Fett? I thought you were dead!" "Rumours of my death were greatly exaggerated. Now where's Solo?" Meanwhile... "Hey Chewie, I wonder where our contact is?" "Hurghnnn..." "Yeah, I've got a bad feeling about this too." About the build: This is meant as a back alleyway behind the Oyu'baat pub in Keldabe, with the Kelita river going by. It's based on Karen Traviss's depiction of Mandalore rather than that of the Clone Wars TV series, I believe a grittier less metropolitan Mandalore better suits the people. I figure that if the TV series can throw EU continuity under the bus, the new movies can take precedence over the Clone Wars and restore the EU version of Mandalore. ;) Also, with the prize being offered in the vignette category, a Mandalorian MOC should have some advantage... Thanks to the Erdbeereis and the sponsors for holding such a great contest. Thanks for stopping by!
  7. Here is my take on the Future of Star Wars: Star Wars - Episode VII 'Twilight Dawning' In this scene, Han Solo & Princess Leia Organa-Solo have chased down a new Bounty Hunter, Kal Durusk, into a small subsidary section of Bespin's Cloud City. Kal has the plans to a new weapon that will make life difficult for the Skywalkers...problem is Han and Leia are getting a little long in the tooth, and Kal looks to be escaping! Han pauses to catch his breath, and leans hard on his walking stick. He faces camera and breaking the fourth wall states,"We're Getting Too Old For This, Your Worshipfulness", while Leia attempts to focus her blaster rifle on the fleeing Bounty Hunter, only to have to pause to rearrange her glasses on her nose. Will the old Rebels manage to capture the Bounty Hunter? Or will they realise that their twilight years are upon them, and give it up in order to spend more time with the grandchildren... We're Getting Too Old For This, Your Worshipfulness 1 by mjfirefly, on Flickr This pic shows the vignette as first built, Kal's blaster can be seen poking out to one side! Please, also note the Clone Trooper helmet. Han has a walking stick in one hand and blaster in the other, while Leia is in her most comfortable robe. Notice that Han has gone grey, and both the old Rebels need spectacles now... We're Getting Too Old For This, Your Worshipfulness 2 by mjfirefly, on Flickr A closer look at the old Rebels, with Kal Durusk making a swift getaway. The clouds of Bespin can be seen out through the pressurised window. We're Getting Too Old For This - Close Up of Interior by mjfirefly, on Flickr The interior of the vignette, the main centrepiece being the pressurised window, not unlike the one that Luke Skywalker shatters in his fight with Darth Vader in Cloud City. We're Getting Too Old For This - Close Up of Power Generator by mjfirefly, on Flickr A Power Generator, providing lighting. Notice the electrical wiring and interface couplers. We're Getting Too Old For This - Close Up of Window & Door by mjfirefly, on Flickr The door and exit for Kal Durusk, his ship waiting nearby amongst the swirling clouds of Bespin - notice the light indicating Exit... We're Getting Too Old For This - Close Up of Elderly Han & Leia 2 by mjfirefly, on Flickr A closer look at Han and Leia, a little vaseline over the lens to hide the wrinkles... Leia is dressed in her most comfortable robe (following the fashions of the over 70s on Coruscant) and has favoured her original 'bagel' buns hairstyle - for ease of tying her hair back in her older years. Han is in his favourite black trousers and comfortable shirt - an old Rebel 'Endor' jacket completing the ensemble. He holds tightly to his walking stick, this fashioned from the tree that his dear departed Wookiee friend Chewbacca lived in on Kashyyyk, to always keep him close. More pics here:
  8. I know I don't post a lot, but I saw this contest, and I thought I might as well try, you know? Anyway, here is my entry. Enjoy: "12 years after the fall of the Empire, Han Solo marries Princess Leia. 8 years later, on an unidentified planet, Han Solo and his young son are enjoying a game of catch in a field. When Han overthrows his son, the ball rolls into the forest behind them. They both chase after, but suddenly freeze once they catch up to it. There is something up ahead. Is it an A-Wing? Han's son hops on top of it to look around. He yells: "Dad, what is this stuff?" But Han is already deep in though, examining the helmet in front of him......." An overview shot http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=5739768 Han Solo examining the helmet http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Paddyb98/Myfolder/thumb/han.jpg_thumb.jpg Han Solo's son examining the A-Wing http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=5739114 The remains of the engines. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=5739121 Another shot of the A-Wing. I'm currently having a lot of trouble with the pictures, I'm aware. I just wanted to put this out and any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
