  1. A mysterious stranger nonchalantly sets down a sack laden with unknown contents. After a few minutes, he walks away, leaving the sack behind. Within moments, another figure appears and, after looking about to see if he is being watched, picks up the sack and moves quickly away. What exchange has just taken place? Historican politics are notoriously secretive…
  2. Lady Gwenllian gave some thought to the Queen’s decree that all municipalities should participate in some sort of revelry. Prenmôr was still a fledgling community, and practical considerations had to be made. There weren’t enough townsfolk to staff an elaborate fair, jousting tournaments required large prizes and housing for more guests than Prenmôr could accommodate, and there were no traveling circuses at the time on the western coast of Avalonia. Thus, Lady Gwenllian settled on a concert. The stage was relatively simple to build and was adorned with the flags of each Guild. No seats were needed as the grass field served as a suitable seating arrangement while a special raised platform was constructed for invited guests of Lady Gwenllian. There was plenty of room for the crowd to camp on the undeveloped surrounding land, while Lady Gwenllian hosted as many of her invited special guests as she could in homes of her household. Two bands from Nocturnus were hired for the event: a zombie band, the Grateful Undead, opened for the headliners: the famous, ever-touring, centuries-old Rolling Bones. The day of the concert, commonfolk swarmed in from the surrounding countryside in the morning. The crowd swelled with the monstrous horde that followed the Grateful Undead from show to show. As the day wore on, fans from farther away, including Mitgardia, Kaliphlin, Varlyrio, and Nocturnus, began arriving to hear the famous bands play. Many of the lords and ladies of Avalonia made an appearance, and even some from Kaliphlin and Mitgardia as well. A few were flown in via dragon (courtesy of Lady Galaria, the mistress of dragons). The night grew dark and the skeletal band from Nocturnus made their way onto stage to the backdrop of magical fireworks provided by the band’s roadcrew wizards. The crowd was surprisingly large, having drawn from across the land. Lady Gwenllian’s family fortune had been built on brewed drink, and although she was unable to brew her own beer owing to the fact that Prenmôr had not yet seen its first harvest, she picked out the finest local beers, meads, and ciders for the concert, with some special wine in reserve for her invited guests. Some of the ladies of the guilds, Lady Eleanor of Bluevale, Lady Gwenllian, and Lady Galaria mistress of dragons, toasted one another with some spiced wine. Lady Seren poured wine for Lord Faladrin while Conrad the Sly waited patiently in line behind him for more drink. The guard lets Count Julian Arfelan back into the private section with his food. Naill chatted up a member of the local stonecutter's guild for leads on skilled labor for his community. Not all the concert libations were about the drink... Card tricksters hawked their game near the concession stand. A few of the concertgoers got a little wild. Visitors appeared from all over the realms. As the band played on into the night, a good time was had by all! Note: this build is 41x49
  3. The Tales of Lady Gwenllian 0. Introduction 1. The arrival of Lady Gwenllian aboard the Cedar Serpent 2. Scouting a Site 3. Early Spring in Prenmôr 4a.(Prelude) Restoring the Shrine 4. The Fishery and Shrine at Prenmôr From her high rock outcropping, Lady Gwenllian had a good view of the coast and had watched throughout the spring as the villagers from Flewd had moved to their new home in Prenmôr. Now that it was early summer, Lady Gwenllian wanted to see how the villagers from Flewd were settling into their new life, and wanted to inspect the work that the elves and dwarves had completed on the shrine to Neptune. She and Lady Seren rode their horses the half mile or so to the rocky escarpment that defined the edge of the land, separating it from the beach. She found that the villagers had sailed their boats laden with their meager belongings down the coastline from Flewd, had assembled lean-tos for drying fish and set up a small net repair station on the beach. The dwarves and elves had done an excellent job on the statue to Neptune, which sat overlooking the sea and was already laden with offerings and gifts from the villagers. Lady Gwenllian smiled as she saw the villagers hard at work. Because most of the young men had been lost during the drow raids, the remaining elderly, women, children and the local village idiot all had jobs, from killing and gutting fish to shooing away the seagulls that inundated the fishery. The locals greeted Lady Gwenllian and Lady Seren warmly, happy to have a new home in a safer location. This is the original build that I had envisioned with the shrine that didn’t get completed in time. I think it was a little too ambitious. On the other hand, it’s nice to see the idea finally come to fruition.

    Scouting a Site

The Tales of Lady Gwenllian 0. Introduction 1. The arrival of Lady Gwenllian aboard the Cedar Serpent 2. Scouting a Site Sailing from the northwest, Lady Gwenllian first sighted land on the coast of the Enchanted Forest of Avalonia. She and her small crew followed the coastline up the channel between the Enchanted Forest and DeVine Isle, stopping to resupply several times from villages, streams, and what resources as were available, all the while scouting potential sites for a new home. The horrible battles of her homeland's civil war taught her difficult lessons on fortifications, and she was determined to find the best possible site to build a castle. Ideally, she desired a site with a nearby quarry, accessible by land and by sea, on high ground, access to timber, and with ample farmland. After scouting several locations without luck, she and her entourage came across a rocky outcropping at the mouth of the Afondraig River on the northeastern coast of the Enchanted Forest. This flat, treeless area boasted steep rocky cliffs on two sides to deter attackers, and a narrow rocky strip along the shallows of the river that would make for a sheltered landing site. The rest of the high rocky area overlooked flat meadows that would be perfect for farms, and these ended about a mile away at the edge of a large forest. Anchoring the Cedar Serpent in the calm flow before the shallows near the mouth of the Afondraig River, Lady Gwenllian and her entourage offloaded supplies and set up a temporary camp. The fall colors were spotted about in the bushes that interspersed with the dried grasses, and made for a rather pretty scene. They could not be distracted by this beauty, however: after inquiring about local claims to the land, they would have to petition Queen Ylspeth for a charter to build, survey the land, and build temporary shelters for the winter. Over the winter, Lady Gwenllian and Seren, her Lady at Arms, would draw up the plans for the castle, whose construction was to begin in the spring. More pictures on Flickr.
  5. With the weather warming, Lady Gwenllian decided to travel about to meet her neighbors. One of the nearest settlements was just down the coast from Prenmôr, the small fishing village of Flewd. Upon meeting with the town elders, Lady Gwenllian found that this village had been particularly hard hit by the drow raids (a terrible chapter in Avalonia's history that Lady Gwenllian was just learning about), losing almost half their population and over two-thirds of their buildings, including an ancient shrine to the sea-god, Neptune. Coupled with several seasons of poor fish harvests, the villagers had no money to rebuild and were beginning to starve. The sight of starving children and townsfolk broke Lady Gwenllian's heart, and she vowed to help the people of Flewd. Conferring with Lady Seren on the spot, she devised a way to help. Speaking to the village elders, she laid out her plan: Lady Gwenllian would help the villagers rebuild their homes in exchange for their work. She could afford to pay them to fish the waters around Prenmôr, and if the fishing was not good, they would have work as laborers helping to build her castle. They would use the money made from their fishing along with help from what coffers she had brought with her, to build new homes. Lady Gwenllian offered to let the villagers build new homes in Prenmôr as residents, or would rebuild their homes in Flewd, as they chose. The elders gathered a council of the entire village that evening, and Lady Gwenllian was invited. The villagers were grateful of Lady Gwenllian's offer, and after some discussion, the villagers were excited about the offer to move a short distance down the coast to continue their trade under the protection of a lord and a fortified town. Flewd held too many bad memories of loss, and its vulnerable position was highlighted by the drow raids. Most importantly, the villagers voted to move the ancient shrine to be rebuilt at Prenmôr. Lady Gwenllian agreed, and offered to find a dwarven sculptor to cut the main statuary out of stone and an elf to decorate the site surrounding the statue with copper scrollwork.
  6. Challenge I : Repairs on the Elvish port of Falahuas Lord Faladrin being absent, it is to Lady Walahaeria, the elf Princess of the old evish clan living in Falahuas, to supervise the repairs of the old part of the port. The port was built by the Elves long time ago and suffered many damages from the Drow during Lord Raavage reign of terror. The main warehouse was totally burned down and was left with only ruined walls. The actual repairs were focused on rebuilding the roof of the warehouse and conforting the walls to support the new roof. Hopefully for the port activity, the lighthouse was kept nearly intact and was kept functional. The elvish falconer was already at work sending eagles and hawks all around the country from the top of the lighthouse. It is an important part of the mailing system of the city of Falahuas, but riders are still usefull too. Speaking of riders, there is a green rider arriving ! He stopped his exhausted horse at the level of the elvish princess, bind to her and deliver the message : "My Lady, I have been sent by Lord Faladrin. His ship, the Bouncing Frog, sprang a leak during its return trip and had to reach land at the southwestern coasts of the Enchanted Forest in a quite deserted area. He needs asistance to repair the ship in order to drag it to the city. So I was sent to you to require your help. Here is the list of the materials he will need to repair the ship." Lady Walaheria thanked the green messenger and ordered a team to leave immediately to reach the position of her husband. Here is my entry for the Challenge. A quite heavy build for me... I integrated the story of this challenge build in my main storyline and hope to continue soon this story ! Hope you'll like this build !
  7. So this is a little vig I made to introduce my sig-fig in GoH. I went with sort of a cartoon-ish look for the desert (probably inspired by som old super mario that I have been playing with the kids lately, haha!). Trying to get used to the EB-forum as well so I guess this also serves as somewhat of a test to see if I am able to post something correctly (if not, feel free to correct me ). Anyways, this is Tabib D'Odo. A doctor/healer and somewhat of a religious leader in Mophet. His healing abilities and knowledge was most likely passed on to him from his father, a rather absent man who spent his life travelling throughout the world in search of knowledge (even venturing in the darker parts of Nocturnus...). Tabib D'Odo spent his youth and adolescence in the Siccus Badlands, which was a hard as one might imagine. As he got older, he earned a living on the oil road, helping transport the valuable commodity through the terrain he knew all too well. Unlike many of his comrades though, he always had a desire to do more, and he spent many night studying his father's old journals. One day while working on a transport, he and his travellers were ambushed by a band of Lerik'ai and he was injured. The rest of his companions were all killed. Close to his death, dehydrated and injured, he saw a snake wriggling past him. The snake looked at him briefly and seemed to gaze into his very soul. Tabib D'Odo gathered his last efforts and followed the snake (hoping he might be able to kill and eat the snake before his own demise) as it made its way towards some nearby rocks. Behind the rocks, Tabib D'Odo was astonished to discover a small spring in the otherwise dry desert. The water helped him survive and he finally made his way to safety. The incident with the snake made a deep impression on Tabib D'Odo and he began to believe in a higher power, with the snake as the most sacred symbol of this. Settling in Mophet - a small town to the east of Barqa, along the oil road - he was able to help the community grow as both a healer/doctor, as well as a spiritual leader. His desire to help people, of all backgrounds, helped keep Mophet somewhat safe from the otherwise harsh treatment most towns along the oil road experienced. So that's the beginning of my sig-figs story :) Hope you liked it! I got some (a lot of...) builds planned and am looking forward to exploring the world and hopefully making Mophet a more important part of it. Cheers!
  8. The Tales of Lady Gwenllian 0. Introduction 1. The arrival of Lady Gwenllian aboard the Cedar Serpent 2. Scouting a Site 3. Early Spring in Prenmôr Having received a charter from Queen Ylspeth to build and a license to crenellate, Lady Gwenllian and her small host made plans for a castle and built shelters for the winter. While temporary, these structures were designed to last several years while the main fortifications were built. The two-story, dirt-floored structures were framed out of timber (garnered by skillful negotiations of Myellan with the local elven tribes of the nearby forest), and the walls were sealed with wattle and daub. Because of the season of her arrival, it was too late in the year to establish quarries and there was no stone to be had. The thatched roofing was constructed from local plants and grasses, and a hole was left at the apex of the chimneyless structure to allow smoke from the central firepit to escape. In early spring, as the weather began to warm and the snows melted, the dead grasses began to give way to new growth. Alis was given the task of caring for the fowl, Chwyd took to sweeping up (having vowed to never voyage by ship again due to his seasickness), and Lady Gwenllian led by example, hefting supplies along with her people. The new Avalonian colors hung proudly over Lady Gwenllian's house. Over the winter, she and her lady at arms, Seren, had been planning the new fortifications. Quarries would need to be established, timber would have to be sourced, workers would have to be found, and all with the cooperation of the local elven and human communities in such a manner as to preserve the environment. Castwyr and Myellan had spent part of the winter getting to know the neighbors of this region. The winter had not been particularly harsh and Lady Gwenllian felt optimistic about the upcoming spring in her new home, deciding to name her small village Prenmôr, meaning 'refuge' in her native tongue. I welcome comments and criticisms, and I especially appreciate specifics--if you like/dislike something, please tell me why, and if you see areas for improvements, I would like to know what I'm missing. I'm trying to learn how to make my builds better, so any tips or advice is appreciated!
  9. Zamorah - The hidden city The city of Zamorah is located on top of a high mountain. It's located in the north of Avalonia at the border to Mitgardia by the river. The city is predominantly populated by humans, elfs, dwarves and fauns. For many hundreds of years, The Aurum Order has ruled Zamorah with an ancient family of men named af Drachen as their leaders. Surrounding the mountain are larger land areas belonging to the city. For the most part, the lands are covered with farms, livestock farmers and smaller villages. All of it suppling the city with food. Zamorah is now looking for new trading partners to promote their exclusive products of Aurumium as well as dragon eggs and dragons. The history of Zamorah The legend says, that an older druid and his wife found a solitary mountain peak when the druid searched for a place of total privacy to immerse himself in the secrets of the druids. At the top of the mountain he settled and called the place Zamorah, after his wife. After years of studying and meditating, the druid felt a disturbance in his surroundings. A weak disturbance that slowly increased in his consciousness until he could not think of anything else. To find the source of the disturbance, he climbed down the mountain top. On his way down the mountain he got lost and ended up in a cave. As he entered the darkness of the cave, a buzz began to build up in his ears and he felt a strong force in the darkness. In the dim light, he noticed a shimmering in the cave's rear wall – a beautiful precious metal with a strong elemental power. The druid rushed back up the mountain, picked up a sledgehammer and chisel and climbed back down to the cave. After many days of hacking, and many tools broken, he finally loosened a piece of metal from the wall. He rushed back up and examined the metal. It was breathtakingly beautiful with a color like gold, but was much harder. He tried to work the metal for days but was unable to make even the slightest mark on it, or affect it in any way. Despite his – in his own opinion – extensive knowledge of alchemy, he failed to process it. He wrote letters to three of his most trustworthy friends and sent it with his owl – the elf druid called Sintrimi in The Enchanted Forest, the dwarf metallurgist named Aldur in the Mitgardia's mines and the human mage named Primus from southern Avalonia. They heard the call and came to his aid on the mountain peak. After several months of examining and testing the metal, they found that an extreme heat was required to affect the metal. A heat that could only be induced by dragon breath. The druid went out and searched for dragons in the Nocturnus mountain range. When he finally found one, he used his zoolinguistic skills to communicate with the dragon. The dragon agreed to help – if they could pay with a big fat ox for dinner. With the help of the dragon the druids were able to get the metal hot enough to process it like regular steel. After the metal had cooled though, they realized it as hard as steel and looked like precious gold. They named the new found metal Aurumium. The druid and his friends quickly understood that this new metal was very valuable and that they had to keep it a secret. They formed a covenant and agreed to keep their knowledge a secret from the outside world, not sharing their knowledge until the last piece of the metal was mined. Thus, the Aurum Order was formed. The druid and his heirs would stand as rulers over Zamorah along with the other members of The Aurum Order, consisting of descendants of the elf, the dwarf and the human mage. In order to continue melting and working the metal, a long-term collaboration between druids and dragons began in Zamorah. The Aurum order vowing to give the dragons protection and food in exchange for heating the ovens. So more and more dragons settled in caves in the mountain and made it their home for generations to come. Centuries passed as Zamorah and its population grew into a large town on the mountain top, while the mountain beneath it was slowly eroding when mining for the precious metal continued. To protect themselves from the outside world, mages were given the task of creating and holding a large protective magic dome around the entire mountain. The dome protected the mountain and the city from the eyes of Historicas inhabitants. Only those who had been invited by The Aurum Order could see the mountain and its town. For all others, it was completely invisible. The spell also ensured that those who had been invited, could not tell anyone else that Zamorah existed. Even under torture, one could not get information about its whereabouts. Some had heard stories about an old hidden city, but since its location and name was unknown, it was said to be a myth. From the Aurumium, the inhabitants of Zamorah made exclusive weapons, armor and other items which they then sold to a few of the richest people in Historica. When mining Aurumium, they also found other metals and gems that allowed them to trade with others in Historica. Revenues made Zamorah and The Aurum Order very rich. The long cooperation with the dragons resulted in a good connection between the druids and the dragons. Over time, a unique language developed. Dragon riders were trained and special dragons were bred for the riders as transportation and to protect the lands. The riders and dragons created a very strong bond with each other. Over time, the other residents of Zamorah and the dragons also learned to have simple communication. Dragon eggs and specially bred dragons were also sold to some of the richest in Historica. However, they are very unusual. In order to protect themselves against intruders the walls of Zamorah were fortified and strengthened with Aurumium. As a resultat of this, the whole city is shining on top of the mountain. Zamorah has also got heavily armed knights and dragon riders to protect the city if anyone were to accidently stumble across it. In order to prevent such a thing occurring, access to the city was very limited. The only way to get up to the city is by water to reach the port inside the hollow mountain. From there, a lift can take invited guests from the port to the top. These lifts can be pulled at risk of attacks or intrusion. Aside from the lifts, the only way to get to the city is by air. Something that few outside of Zamorah are able to venture. Present day Prologue - The Throne of Zamorah After decades of mining Aurumium, the entire mountain has been carved out and the Aurumium deposits in the mountain is nearly depleted. When the aging ruler Druid Zull of Drachen lay on his death bed, his only son – and heir to the throne – suffered a terrible accident. A mining tunnel collapsed over him and his two companions during a routine inspection in the mines. When their bodies were found, they were so badly injured that they could not be properly identified. Only one survived the accident and could tell what happened. Just before Zull of Drachen passed away he decided that the ruling of Zamorah would be handed over to The Aurum Order, as no heir was present. Shortly thereafter, the Aurum Order decided to release the ancient secret of Zamorah. Because the Aurumium deposits were nearing depletion, the city needed find ways to support its inhabitants and seek up new markets for the remaining weapons, armor and other merchandise of the processed Aurumium, as well as dragons and dragon eggs. The time to make themselves known was now, given that the war in the East had ended and Queen Ylspeth had just opened up for new trading opportunities in Varlyrio. So in order to increase trade, Zamorah has now finally lowered its protective dome so that it can be seen and known to all. Where is Zamorah? On these maps you can se the location of Zamorah. Summoning gone wrong

So! This is my first MOC in Guilds of Historica as a Nocturnian and I hope to build many more GoH related builds! I hope my English is not too cringey, although I don't mind feedback on it. Argatz seeks the help of Hanrik the bone lord. Summoning was not one of Argatz's special talents. Yet, he wants to summon one day a one hundred and thousand troops to take over Nocturnus and eventually conquer the whole vast continent of Historica. Of course, this evil ambition was not shared with Hanrik, as we will soon read how he will lie to him for his own spiteful good. “So, you want to summon demons, yet you are inexperienced in doing so?” questioned Hanrik the bone lord with a curious cackling voice. “But for what purpose?” And Argatz answered as honestly as he can: “For keeping my house clean, my bone lord!” “Very well! You have to realize I don't teach my superior summoning skills to someone who might want to conquer me or this land.” said the bonelord without any suspicion in his voice. But his last words give Argatz an unsetteling feeling, as if he was caught on his dreadful lie. Hanrik the bone lord took his place before the black pedestal and began chanting before it in rhyme. “Oh, ghost of a thousand dreams, enter your portal of green beams. As I, the bone lord, command thee to come forward!” And there it was. The ghost arose from the glowing green stones of the black pedestal. “Huh? Where am I?” asked the ghost in a unintelligent mumbling manner. “I summoned thee!” answered Hanrik prideful. “You are standing in one of the many rooms of my castle! As a guest, of course!” “Oh, thanks... I was sleeping. Now, if you excuse me, I'd like to go back to sleep.” The tired ghost went through the window above the bone lord's head. The bright green glow of the stones fade away as well. Argatz scratched his chin as he was pondering what he should summon for this lesson. It did not took him that long and he stepped a bit to his left so he was standing exactly in front of the pedestal. “Now, remember!” said Hanrik with his cackling voice in high volume. “Just summon a ghost and nothing else!!” Argatz rolled with his eyes, which should tell anyone, especially the bone lord himself, as a warning for what is to come next: “Oh, in the land of the north, Where Mitgardia lies, come forth. I want you, you heinous troll, appear before me as a whole!!” And before Hanrik tries to cancel Argatz summon, after hearing the word 'troll', it was far too late. The aforementioned troll stands there on the glowing pedastal, squatting and grunted: “Gotta go dookee nookee!” And Argatz, who stands behind the troll, feels much regret.

    Oasis Retreat

After being forced out of his home by the Kaliphlin Civil War Badr the Botanist fled the capital, and took refuge by an oasis, the perfect place to continue his work. He lived a lonely life, but he was at peace. That is until a messenger from his former university stumbled upon his simple abode. Finally he builds for Kaliphlin! Fist official build of the year, I built this in early February, but only got round to posting it now because of school (and trying to stretch out my builds to make it look like I post regularly. A new sub-genre for me and I thought it was about time I branched out. Also two things have arrived in the mail (a while back now but till of great importance). a) Kingdom Come: Deliverance, look it up if you haven't heard of it. It has become my number 1 game and if you love anything medieval, you should consider this game. I mean it doesn't only look amazing, but the game play is great as well. b) I finally used up my CBC prize and got some Brickwarriors stuff, which has given me some much needed inspiration. I don't love using custom stuff, but when trying to make stuff realistic, its kinda a must have. C&C needed and hope you enjoy :)
  12. The Bouncing Frog After the defeat of Ravaage and the fall of the Spire, the little principality of Falahuas in Avalonia became more peaceful. The Drow became rare and their dreadful raids on the countryside of the Avalonian province stopped de facto. Lord Faladrin managed to secure some safe trade routes to re-connect the city of Falahuas to the rest of the Guild and, in his efforts to dynamise Falahuas, he developped the port activities by using Elvish craftsmen and ship masters to rebuild the quays and the shipyards. In these elvish shipyards the best ship builder he had at his disposal developped a new vessel for the Falahuan fleet. He called this new ship a Nao (meaning simply "Ship"). This new design was remarkable on the ability of the Nao to maintain high sea perfectly and to endure dangerous waves that usual cogs or carrcks would not support. Its lateen rigging allowed it to almost fly upon water and to navigate close to the wind. And its newly designed keel permits it to strongly stay straight in high sea even in bad storms. This is aboard this brand new ship, recently baptised The Bouncing Frog (due to its ability to bounce from wave to wave) that our Hero, Faladrin, decided to run a maiden course. He was, of course accompanied by the ship builder himself, an elf engineer named Ehrtäin and of a capable crew of sailors and guardsmen. The objective was to sail further than any other vessel of Falahuas had ever been and to make some maneuvre to train the guards at operating the heavy ballista mounted on the bow. Faladrin was himself at the manoeuvre on the ballista and enjoyed being at the bow of the ship ! He was more than happy to set sail straight away on the sea and ready for adventure ! They were at sea for about 34 days and didn't expect the ship to be so strong and swift ! It was a pleasure to manoeuvre the Bouncing Frog ! Faladrin an Ehrtäin were discussing on the deck to organise the return trip when suddenly the watchman yelled : "At Starboard ! Land !" A land here was not expected at all ! Faladrin and Erhtäin decided to sail to this new unknown land. The taste of Adventure was too strong for the men... They had to see if there were something, or someone, on this new island. As it quickly appeared the land was a little island made of rocks but surprisingly covered on most of its surface by red roses bushes and even gigantic unknown red flowers... Faladrin named this island : The Isle of Roses. It appeared it was an inhabited island and The Bouncing Frog made a soft tacking to set sail towards the keep they've seen throne upon the rocks above the sea... To be Continued... Thanks for reading ! The next part of the Story will be developped with my other "Safe Haven" challenge entries. The ship is clearly inspired of the first real Portuguese Nao and Caravel designs. It has functional anchors, orientable sails and a functional rudder. C&Cs are welcome !
  13. The people of the Isle of Roses Background : The isle of Roses is a far western island discovered by Faladrin during the maiden course of the Bouncing Frog. It is a rocky island covered by red roses bushes and giant red flowers. It is where a strange group of adventurers lead by Cônhardt, the barbarian king, are fighting the "Cold Bloods" to stop them producing Red Honey, a delicious beverage but with psychic effects that is slowly poisoning the high nobility of the barbarian king country. The Red Honey is made by the "Cold Bloods" by sacrificing prisoners to giant red flower monsters that suck out the soul of the poor prisoners to produce their nectar which is then gatered by hellish bees to be transformed into honey and then sold to the Barbarian king citizen to ensure the "Cold Bloods" supremacy upon the citizen of the Barbarian king. It is why Cônhardt has decided to settle a castle in the Isle of Roses to stop the production of Red Honey. Here are some people of interest in this far western island : First, the Barbarian King people in Castle Rose : Cônhardt, the Barbarian King : He is the leader of the group of the adventurers trying to stop the production of red Honey. He is a strong and rough man with the bad habit of swearing and yelling constantly. He is a very talented swordsman and enjoys to ride his battle panther to fight the "Cold Bloods" Felindra, the Cat Master : She is the intendant of the Barbarian king keep and she is in charge of the training of the battle panther and of her offsprings. She is a bad tempered girl and prefer the big cats company than the human one. Allistair, the Blue Mage : He is a noble man from the Barbarian King country but renounced to his rank to embrace the way of magic. With his power, it is possible to seal the hellish bees hives and to definitely stop the Red Honey production. Niansan, the Sword Master : He is a cat people from a distant land and joined the Barbarian King to fight the "Cold Bloods" to seek revenge for his people coldly slaughtered by the Lizard people of the "Cold Bloods". He is a master swordsman and his skills at sword are unequalled. Barbarella, the Huntress : She is the official huntress of the Barbarian King and is providing the keep of good hunting products. She is also a brilliant scout and knows the Isle of Roses like her pocket. With her, impossible to get lost on the Island. Goatyié, the Ninja : He is a Satyr people, frequently encountered in the Barbarian king country. Those goat people are normally farmers and hunters, but Goatyié is a discret and stealth well trained Ninja. He is mainly used in recon mission and to spy the "Cold Bloods". Niärl, The Beast : Also issue of the Cat people, Niärl lost his sanity when his family was killed by the "Cold Bloods". He is now a dreadful weapon at the order of the Barbarian King used to slaughter every Lizard man he can catch. Mauw, The Guard : Also known by Maurice Welligton of Lactoferis, simply shorten by Mauw, this Cow people is a rare variant from the Satyr people who are living in the Barbarian King country. They are usually peacefull land owners but Mauw is as bad tempered as Cônhardt and he decided to follow him when it appeared to Mauw he was better at weapons than at land administration. Horton, the Horse Master : He is a common people of the Barbarian King country who was send to serve as blacksmith and as horseman. He is in charge of the good health of the horses of the keep and is able to repair the horse shoes. Because riding by horse is safer than riding by Panther. Florton, the Peasant : He is the young brother of Horton and is the example of a common peasant of the Barbarian king people. They are regularly put in danger by the raids from the "Cold Bloods" but it doesn't prevent them to farm and to help Cônhardt to develop his keep. And here are the bad guys, the members of the "Cold Bloods" : Regit ,the Lizard King : He is the merciless king of the Lizard people on the Isle of Roses. He is a big fan of Red Honey and wants the production to raise in order to sell this dreadful product to farther lands. He is a dangerous warrior and loves riding his tamed Alligator. Zaira, the Lady of the Cages : She is the queen of the "Cold Bloods". She is responsible of the detention of the prisoners to sacrifice to the giant red flower monsters. She is also in charge of the security of the Hives. Her dark magic could be countered by Allistair's magic. Hisss, the Red Honey Baron : He is the intendant of the "Cold Bloods" and is in charge of tasting and selling the Red Honey production. He is a dangerous snake people which needs no weapon to harm people as he is more dangerous with words. A Red Honey servant : It is common to see servants and slaves in the "Cold Bloods" court. They are ancient prisoners the Lizard people decided to use to serve them the Red Honey. They are often brain washed by making them drink high quantities of Red Honey. A Red Honey peasant : The peasants the Lizard people are hiring or enslaved are responsible of collecting the Red Honey from the hives but are also in charge to collect prisoners to offer in sacrifice to the Red Giant Flower Monsters. A Red Flower Monster Offspring : Those devil flowers are the base of the Red Honey production. This is an example of a young offspring but the giant ones are highly dangerous. They feed on prisoner's souls the Lizard people of the "Cold Bloods" are offering to them and then are producing Red Nectar to be harvested by Hellish bees. Destroying those plants could help to stop the Red Honey production. A Hellish bee harvester : The hellish bees are gathering the Red Nectar in their hives to produce Red Honey that can be harvested by the "Cold Bloods". The Red Honey is particularly tasty and good but dangerously addictive and has Psychic effects. This is the reason of the decay of the Barbarian King country. He has to find a way to stop the Red Honey production. A Sacrified Prisoner : The "Cold Bloods" are detaining prisoners from raids they are launching in the Barbarian King country and they are sacrificing them to feed the Red Giant Plant Monsters to have Red Honey. Without soul to eat, it's impossible for the plants to give Red Nectar, and so, the production of Red Honey would stop. This is my Category B entry for the "Safe Haven" Challenge. Hope you'll like it ! It's clarifying some facts on the ongoing story of Faladrin in the Isle of Roses that began with my Cat C entry and continued with my Cat A entry. C&Cs are welcome !
  14. Here's my series of 18 figs: 1. Fisherman of Aikapu: Fishing is an important occupation on the Island of Aok. This fisherman prides himself in being the best. Though, if all his stories were true then he would have speared more fish than could fill the Island from north to south! Front: Back: 2. Canoe Maker: The people of Aikapu may not be as technologically advanced as the rest of the Island of Aok, but what skills they do have they do well. This carpenter works hard to improve his design with each new canoe he makes. Front: Back: 3. Medicine Woman: Knowing what herbs to use when someone is hurt is this minifigure’s specialty. She may look mad, but that’s just because she’s tired of having to constantly deal with the people of Aikapu accidentally stepping on small, sharp edged objects! Front: Back: 4. Cocidius: A powerful creature born of fire and wrath. He is the self-proclaimed god/ruler of the island though he has a hard time getting the people of Aok to follow him. He has many agents in each area of the island and rules through fear. Front: Back: 5. Luigi the Green: This fearsome warrior is a veteran of a thousand battles. He fights to defend the honor of the Noble Green Family, one of four families inhabiting the land of Mimsy. He and his troops ride giant praying mantises into battle against the forces of evil. Front: Back: 6. Jamie the Yellow: The land of Mimsy is known for its oversized plant and insect life, but is it big enough for Jamie’s ego? He always has a broad grin stretching across his face and is constantly sweeping back his hair to make sure he looks his best. Front: Back: 7. Boris the Blue: The Noble Blue Family has a rich history of being one of the most stable of the families in Mimsy. Boris upholds this tradition by never taking an extreme position. However, even he recognizes that Hathor’s decision to side with Cocidius is a foolish one and he fights against her along with the other families. Front: Back: 8. Hathor the Red: Leader of the Noble Red Family, she has decided to throw her lot in with Cocidius. Her troops rush into battle on giant wasp steeds. She sometimes gets tired of carrying her staff around and will relegate the task to her least favorite lackey. Front: Back: 9. Blacksmith: Nadindel is home to many races, none of them human, and they all know a good weapon when they see one. This blacksmith is one of the best in the land and takes great pride in her work. Her blades are the sharpest, almost as sharp as her wit. Front: Back: 10. Nadindel Elder: The Elder had served Nadindel faithfully for many years. He sought to keep the various races living in harmony, which was no easy task! The heavy load of leadership had brought lines of age to his face, but also wisdom and knowledge. Front: Back: 11. Cartographer Faun: Living on an island, there was only so much land for cartographers to map. But what they lacked in area they made up for in detail. This faun’s maps were best known for perfectly charting every turn in every river as well as the best fishing holes! Front: Back: 12. Red Goblin Emissary: One of the craftier races on Aok, the red goblins were known for their wiles. Most of them had sided with Cocidius. This emissary served to relate Cocidius’ wishes with the land of Nadindel. He does so with no mercy in voice. Front: Back: 13. Wukong: Sometimes called “The Monkey King” because of his primate like features, Wukong serves to protect any who wish to be free from Cocidius’ wrath. Wukong has traveled the known world and has served in many different roles. But for now he is content to live in Keyama. Front: Back: 14. Palace Guard: Many have pledged their loyalty to Wukong. Some of them have been assigned to guard the palace. Many of Cocidius’ followers would like nothing better than to infiltrate the palace and it’s this man’s job to keep them out. And sometimes he has to break up the ghosts if they get too unruly. Front: Back: 15. Keyama Ghost: Keyama is home to a number of tribes of ghosts. They were once noble families who just never left even after death. They carry with them all the memories of their past lives which can lead to some old family squabbles coming up again from time to time. Front: Back: 16. Nervous Curator: Wukong has a great collection of books and artifacts. Some of them are rare because of their age, some because of their value. The curator has been employed in their protection for many years now, but that doesn’t stop him from being worried that something may happen one day. Front: Back: 17. Leander Explorer: The Leander race is known for its cat-like features. This includes a heightened awareness of one’s surroundings which makes them perfect for the task of exploration. In addition to being ready to explore, this Leander is also ready to defend his party against any would be attackers. Front: Back: 18. Xehanort the Heartless: A foul creature that inhabits the seas around Aok, Xehanort seeks to destroy all travelers in her path. No one quite knows her origins and no one has lived long enough to ask her. But many believe she was once a beautiful fairy whose love was spurned causing her to begin a life of vengeance. Now all she knows is destruction. Front: Back: The Complete Series:

    Who's Laughing Now?

Gigs in Nocturnus are difficult to come by. The crowds if not hostile are generally just plain weird. It is a universally accepted truth that fart jokes are funny and Olly the jolly jester was counting on it.... He had forgotten the one exception to the rule - which is that you don't make a fart joke at the expense of a Lord... Still on the upside he now had a lot of time to write plenty of new material...

    Fîn The Farmer

Younger brother of Ol' Colby, Fîn was always the odd one out. Carrots had never really appealled to him growing up, much to the dissapointment of his family. However, keen to make them proud he set off, and through some hardwork, trade and a touch of blackmail he ended up with a prime piece of real estate and his very own farm. Built in a week and a half for the Dunedin Brick Show I am pretty pround of it. It is veiwable from 3 sides ( a masssive acheivement for me) and even looks good :p It also won me best young exhibitor, which was the icing on the cake Very much inspired again by Legonardo and Derfel Cadarn. Now onto the GoH anniversary. Does it ever stop? Hope you enjoy and C&C welcomed.

    Braving Nocturnus

A lone Avalonian champion attemps to brave the harsh world of Nocturnus, fighting off all kinds horrid creatures, to please his lovers father . A romantic story of sorts, which unfourtuantly comes to a rather nasty end... For the CBC - RPG category Inspired by the game "Dark Souls III" the build is not based on any location in particular but the area "The High Walls of Lothric" was probably the biggest inspiration. It also doubles as a ruin in Nocturnus. An absolute pleasure to build and would have to rank very high on my favourite builds list. Unfourtuantly I am suffering from writers block (an thing I haven't come across before), which is not great as I have a convention in 3 weeks and I have hockey tournuments on both weekends to make matters worse. So after a couple failed concepts I don't have much of a idea of what to do. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Hope you enjoy and C&C welcomed

    Watchtower at Fahrin Falls

For many centuries, the watchtower has stood below Farhin Falls, keeping guard over the river and the surrounding woods. A tower in a water fall, because why not? My project for the last few weeks, it was a real challenge to get everything to work, especially the water fall, which uses nets. It was fun to do some flat stonework again, after building so many round towers. And the rock work was just a bit of this and that. I also really don't like the head of the tower, but I wanted to try something new so here ya go, hope you enjoy and C&C needed.

    Waldred the War Master

From a young age Waldred had an unhealthy interested in war. But now as his days grow short, he retires from his years of advising and training to live peacefully in a small tower. This has been busy gathering dust while I am rushing to finish my other Brick show mocs (not to mention a very, very large moc (Hype!)) I am very proud of this, to me the stone work is good, landscaping great and the Tudor/roof better. The roof was the most challenging part, but thanks to 40+ angled plates I was fine :P Credit for most, if not all techniques go to of course @Legonardo , who gave me the inspiration for this build a couple years ago at CBS (yup this thing has been floating around for two years). This and the rest of my mocs were on display at the Christchurch Brick Show last weekend, It was great seeing the public's opinion and they seemed to love the "Rapunzel" tower. Hope you enjoy and C&C needed.

    Lleidr Citadel

This is the south gate of Lleidr Castle, a ruined fortress of central Avalonia, nestled in the eaves of a forest that has slowly grown over it. A band of outlaws has made it their abode, calling themselves the Merry Men of Lleidr. No one knows the history of the castle, as all records of it have vanished, and the bandits themselves do not care. They have repaired certain parts of the castle just enough to serve as living quarters and storehouses. They did not do an especially good job of repair, though; if they had been capable of an honest day's work at a building trade, after all, they would not have become bandits. A build for the Summer Joust 2017, Castle Collaboration category. My teammates, and fellow Merry Men of Lleidr, are @Henjin_Quilones (with his build The South Gate of Lleidr) and @ZlatanXVIGustaf (and his build(my favourite of the team) The Western Wall of Lleidr) . It was a lot of fun to make and I was surprised how large I could make the stone sections. The build may be a bit grey in places and I wish I did have more brick to make somethings (eg texturing) better but overall I am very pleased with it and I loved working within a team of other great builders. It was also amazing that we all agreed to do a castle that was right up my alley . Oh yea and the edit is pretty bad, I still haven't got the hang of it Hope you enjoy and C&C invited
  22. While the city of Falconstone keeps expanding, the training camp in the nearby Ginnon Valley is also under constant development. An archery range has been put up, from which archers and axe throwers can practice hurling their projectiles at targets placed before a wall of straw bales

    Tíre Gatehouse

Tíre Keep is one of the most valuable strongholds of Avalonia. Though it has never been occupied, it's real advantage is the lighthouse: Avalonian ships are ensured they will not get lost the Great Western Ocean. My second entry for the SJ castle collab. My team mates are @Henjin_Quilones and @TitusV and it was great working with them. I like it, it looks good but the Tudor work ruins it unfortunately. Make sure you check out the other teams entry, which will all be on the guilds soon. Hope you enjoy and C&C needed.

    GoH Characters on Mecabricks

While I was building for Category C of Challenge V, I ended up spending a fair bit of time making good looking versions of several characters. As most of you probably know, I primarily build digitally using Mecabricks in tandem with LDD. I thought It'd be handy to have a collection of files on Mecabricks so that anyone can easily include a character in their digital build (With the permission of the creator, of course). Decorations can be traced and added to mecabricks in just a few hours, so it's a much more extensive collection of prints than LDD's collection. Basics: I won't publish a character until the creator has granted their permission in this thread I'm able to create missing decorations for the library, but missing parts are beyond my skill level, so those have to be made by the creator of mecabricks and as such take longer Feel free to request any of your own characters, but please include a picture of them INDEX Brandon Stark: Brandon Stark - Mecabricks Model LittleJohn: LittleJohn - Mecabricks Model Umbra-Manis: Harkran - Mecabricks Model
  25. Sixth Quarter Free Build Registration -- yeah I know, this book is taking too long, we now have 6 quarters of free building!) November 1st, 2016 to May 1st, 2017 (Book II, Quarter 6) What is this thread? This is the thread where YOU register your free build if you wish it to be scored for your guild. Why are you doing this to us? Despite Rogueang’s wonderful MOC index, the guilds project has become quite large. The core leaders feel that we need a self-indexing mechanism that will allow us to grade free builds more efficiently. This is what we have come up with. What do I need to do? Just simply write the following information In a NEW post: Name of Moc with link to the thread | Name of Builder | Guild you belong to IE: Obsidian Spike |ZCerberus | Nocturnus Do not write anything else. What counts as a “Free Build?” Great question! Any GOH build that was not entered in one of the official main challenges. All free builds must have their own thread, and there must be a link to that thread provided here. Do not comment on builds in this thread, please do that on the MOC’s own thread. Can I just post in my guild thread and leave it at that? Whereas you are welcome to do so, if the build does not make it into the index , it will not be scored. Can I put up an entry for another guild member's build? If that builder has disappeared and we are getting near the deadline, this would be allowed. Past registrations: Quarter 1 Quarter 2 Quarter 3 Quarter 4 Quarter 5
