    LEGO Ghostbusters

Ghostbusters gets a LEGO movie makeover! Lots of brickbuilt effects. enjoy!
  2. I've added new foto's of my Ghostbusters headquarters addition! (11-3-2014) I've made some alterations to the hearse. Mostly on the tailfin area. The red from the fins isn't touching the rearlights anymore. Also the equipment on the roof is slightly different. It sort of 'belongs' ther now as opposed to be just an 'add-on' like before. I've also made it structurally better. (see post #2)
  3. GhostBusters, Dana Barretts Apartment This is my Lego Ideas model of Dana Barrett's apartment from the eighties classic movie Ghostbusters I Have made the model as near to movie accurate as I could get, I spent a lot of time viewing the film footage and cross referencing from screen grabs, The apartment features several times throughout the movie and the set dressing changes on each occasion, so I have combined all occasions into the model. The features of the set are as follows three mini figures Dana Barrett, Pete Vekman,Terror Dog Terror Dog arms to attach to the arm chair Additional 1X1 Triangle pieces to create the carpet ripple effect Additional pieces to create the apparition in the fridge All the furnishings of the apartment, Piano, Tables, Books (etc) This is one of my favorite scenes in the film I believe this Lego Idea would really compliment the ghost busters Lego sets that are already available.

GB HQ Mini Modular House Series

Hi All, I am working on a theme mashup series. The formula is, theme + 16x16 modular houses = Fun. That way all our favorite Lego themes can live on one street. I have built 3 so far but I am waiting for the right coloured parts to arrive before I post them. Anyway here's the first house. The pic is a little dull because of the terrible weather I'm sure we will be having in Ireland for the next 6 months. Hope ya like it.
  5. I am not a sticker fan. Not a violent or vocal campaigner or complainer, it's just my building preference. The Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters was a no-brainer. I definitely had to have one. Still want one. But, the fact that the main signage out front is a sticker made me put a pin in the idea. For now. I'm curious...has any one found a way to mod the main sign out front using the printed logo bricks from 21108-1 Ghostbusters Ecto-1? I know they are slightly different elements...but has anyone found a good looking way to do this? I desperately want that Firehouse, but I can't do stickers. Without the sign at all, the set just isn't worth it to me. Any suggestions or a friendly point in the right direction would be very much appreciated. Play well!

    MOC: Some Ghosts to Bust

If there’s something strange in your neighbourhood, Who you gonna call? If there’s something weird and it don’t look good, Who you gonna call? Ghostbusters! It’s nice that we have finally gotten some ghosts to bust with the new Ghostbusters headquarters, but I think there is still a lot of interesting ghosts that could make for some interesting MOC’s. Let’s start with something simple from the movies: A couple of Terror Dogs. I copied reverse engineered them from the upcoming Dimensions version, but they are a little different because I didn’t have the right parts. I do though have to say that making the torso 3 studs wide actually looks pretty good, they get some more girth from it. The Scoleri Brothers were a couple of murders when they were still alive, and were sentenced to the chair for their crimes. Unfortunately ridding them of their mortal bodies only turned them into a really nasty pair of ghosts. But the movies are not the only source of ghosts: Here we have Chomper, Grabber, Gulper and Wrapper, four mini ghosts that were included with the action figures of the Real Ghostbusters. Among the more notable ghosts from the Real Ghostbusters cartoon we have Samhain, the spirit of Halloween. If he is not stopped he will make Halloween night last forever. He even has the ability to make ghostly traitors like Slimer fade out of existence. Another horrible group of spirits were the Peoplebusters who some of the ghostbusters once met when they were sucked into a parallel universe (that happens surprisingly often in that line of work). The Peoplebuster were apparently not as busy as the Ghostbusters were, because they never hired a ghost version of Winston. And last, but most certainly least we have one of the most famous ghosts from the franchise, Mr. Stay Puft! And a group shot of the various horrors: I ain’t afraid of no ghost!
  7. (I'm not sure where to put this model, as it's town, but based off a licensed set in a classic space color scheme!) This classic car was inspired by my previous car for Benny the 1980-something space guy, and partially by set 21108. (that's the Ghostbuster's Ecto 1) With the Ecto 1, I removed the front hood, shortened the car's length and width to make it about the same size my usual CITY-scale vehicles at a acceptable 24 studs long and 6 studs wide. I then added the front hood and grille work which was originally inspired by set 4728 (Escape from Privet Drive). The rear of the car features twin exhaust pipes, and a license plate that in all likelihood is a vanity plate saying "BENY84". (as 1984's the year our favorite blue Classic Space astronaut was introduced) (picture from Bricklink) Also, the 4x2 slope should feature the print above (link to Bricklink: http://alpha.brickli...63pb021#T=C&C=7 ) Anyway, the car looks like it could fit a figure, but it can't as of right now... It probably could work but would require substantial body work MODs that I frankly don't want to do right now. (sorry!) The car will be built by summer, and will replace the car seen in the above picture. LDD file: http://www.moc-pages...1452458064m.lxf
  8. Well since we know that we are getting one more D2C that is not a Super Hero set I thought I'd make this page so that we could stop cluttering up the DC page ! Here's just2good's quote about the "nostalgic" D2C: "Two d2cs = not both from DC Two d2cs = nostalgic Two d2cs = one is batcave" Possibilities: - Scooby Doo - Ghostbusters - Wizard of Oz - Back to The Future - Space - Pirates - Adventures
  9. Sergio's LEGO Ghostbusters headquarters has not made it past the LEGO Ideas review stage. I suspect the size of the project might have had something to do with it. Sergio's LEGO Ghostbusters headquarters with interior included is made up out of 5704 bricks. To date there have only been two official LEGO sets which consisted of more than 5000 bricks. With that in mind I have designed a smaller LEGO Ghostbusters headquarters in the same scale as the LEGO modular buildings. The backside of the building has been left open for playability and display. For even better access the stairs can be removed. The interior has been recreated as faithfully as possible from the Ghostbusters movies. The wall panel with the bell and the office area were quite a challenge. They are build half sunk into the double walls. The blank square behind Venkman's desk is supposed to be a framed black and white photograph from the original Ghostbusters movie. I still need to make a legofied version of this and add it in. I've included, among other things, a camera and monitor setup showing a terror dog, a "last of the petty cash" meal, a dancing toaster, and jars of slime. At some point I would like to do a side-by-side comparison of screenshots from the movies and the LEGO versions. The pinball machine is supposed to have a Star Gazer backplate. I still need to make a legofied version of this and add it in. Janine Melnitz and Louis Tully minifigures. Making a smaller Ghostbusters headquarters does require a smaller Ecto-1. Brent's Ecto-1 unfortunately won't fit inside the building, at least not without removing a large part of the ground floor interior. But perhaps LEGO could include the smaller version of Ecto-1, similar to how LEGO included a smaller version of Metalbeard in Metalbeard's Sea Cow set. The number of bricks used comes to 3008 bricks with the smaller Ecto-1 not included, and 3264 bricks with the smaller Ecto-1 included. Which would mean the LEGO Ghostbusters headquarters would cost somewhere around €190 with the smaller Ecto-1 not included, and somewhere around €210 with the smaller Ecto-1 included. I've submitted this building on the LEGO Ideas site. It currently has about 4000 supporters, so it can still use some support. Help make this become a real LEGO set and support! [MOC] GHOSTBUSTERS HEADQUARTERS

Hi to all EB users, I have the pleasure to present the first collaboration AITORUCO/MTRkustoms We are a spanish train builders and the better way to make a collaborative MOC is to design and build a Ghostbuster Headquarter . This Headquarter is completed with the Ecto-1 with custom leds of MTRkustoms and the 8w American cars of AITORUCO There is no need to talk about this building so lets see the pictures, so..... who you gonna call? Chrome mod Ecto 1

I had several pieces chromed. I think it give it a much needed "pop". I also added a few other mods that I have seen from other MOCs. https://www.flickr.c...57650287592231/

    LEGO Ideas...

Does anyone have any information on the latest LEGO Ideas group that is in review? There are a number of sets that I would love to see go into production. It should be any day that a decision is made. I thought I read somewhere that LEGO would announce their decision in January. My vote... 1) Ghostbuster Firehouse 2) Xavier Mansion 3) Wayne Manor

  15. During the development of the Ecto-1 for LEGO Ideas (former Cuusoo) I couldn't keep myself from creating the original 1959 black Cadillac that got turned into one of the most iconic movie vehicles of the silver screen. This is a very easy MOD that any fan of the movies can make, only having to basically swap the color of the exterior elements and clean up the top of the car. MOD: Bat-Ecto-1

When there's something strange in your neighborhood, who ya gonna call? BATMAN! Bat-Ecto-1 by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr In order to allow Batman to fight ghosts, I have modified the Ecto-1 to look like the Batmobile that Adam West drove in the 60's. It has the same black and red color scheme and features the Batman logo on the side instead of the Ghostbusters one. Bat-Ecto-1 side by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr And in the back, there is the obligatory jet exhaust again, plus those two black boxes that are next to it, whatever they are which contain the parachutes. Bat-Ecto-1 back by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr As always, comments and criticisms are welcome. To the Bat-Ecto!
  17. This Modular Ghostbusters Headquarters has been sized to fit in with the LEGO Modular Series. (Developed for LEGO Ideas by OGELSBOB (formerly known as "LEGODT") Only 16-studs wide. Thanks to Sergio512 for the wonderful design of the LEGO Ideas submission: Ghostbusters HQ. I copied some of the build techniques and design elements of the Sergio512 design to inspire the creation of this modular-sized Ghostbusters Headquarters. The garage door facade is made of dark brown 1x4 tiles that cover 1x5x8.5 stockade doors. In order to fit the Ecto-1 Cadillac inside the building with inward swinging doors, I had to extend the depth of the standard 32 stud baseplate by 16 studs. This creation is 16 studs by 48 studs. You can see from the photos that this creation fits in nicely with modular-proportioned buildings. The interior features a pod for Dr.Egon, Dr. Peter, Dr. Raymond & Winston Zeddemore to perform their duties and to relax with some snacks. Little do they know that above their secure pod, Slimer, a ghastly apparition, is about to invade their inner sanctum. What does everyone think about the playability of this MOC? Please support on LEGO Ideas: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/79601
  18. Don't Cross the Streams! Today (August 28) is Ghostbusters day! Warm up the proton packs and watch the trailer for an ongoing LEGO Ghostbusters collaboration with Titan Pictures. Enjoy!
  19. The new Ecto-1 Ghostbusters car is pretty awesome so I wanted to make a video of it. You'll recognise Frankie the mechanic from the 60056 Tow Truck set.
  20. If ghosts need busting on Mars, this is how it might be done In LDD, I modified the original Cuusoo/Ideas version of the Mars Rover to have a Ghostbusters feel, attempting to add as many of the greebles present in 21108 while still retaining the Rover feel and function. Added a proton pack to the front and then the Rover's instrument boom becomes the nozzle, with silver flex hose connecting the two. The wheel hubs on both original sets are the same size, so easy to use 21008's wheels, and silver wheel covers, with 21005's tires. Also attempted to capture the 21008's Caddy tailfins onto the Rover body. A little photoshopping on these images to add the sticker images to the model. Too much? Sacrilegious? Are you ROFL? I want to see what people think of this before I go get the parts, as I won't part out my Ghostbusters set just yet, but will mod the Rover accordingly,

    Ecto-1 9V

[Hopefully the right forum, but since the MOC is clearly town and minifig related, since the theme is not (yet) a licensed theme and since some movie cars like the Bluesmobile and the Mad Max Road Warrior are here, too, it might be a suitable place. If not, feel free to move it.] Hi all, I know, we have seen quite a few Ectos lately (btw good luck to Brent Waller with his Cuusoo proposal, that would be a fantastic set ), but well, since there are some special aspects with this one, it might be worth to upload it here, too. Now this can be called a co-operative MOC, since full credit for the whole 9V technical unit (plus roof and ghostbusters greeble) goes to my dear friend Brucewaynelego-Toyshansolo, see http://www.flickr.co...157623498552724. Since he had already found an ingenious solution for the main problem, I just had to transplant it into a new car body. Here you can see it in action (sorry for the poor quality): The car itself is 7 studs wide and built in the so-called bracket-and-tile style I have used for most of the cars lately. It fits 4 whole ghostbusters and a 9 volt light & sound battery box. The cab can be detached to get the figs in and out of the car: And that's it so far. C&C welcome as usual. Thanks for looking.
  23. THERE IS NO DANA, ONLY ZUUL! Presenting to you just a 'quicky'. Zuul, the hellhound from 80's movie Ghostbusters. Yes, I'm a bit of a GB-coattailrider here but it happens that GB belongs to my top 10 best 80's movie-list. :) I was inspired by masterbuilders Wet Wired and Sergio and their awesome Ghostbusters-builds but couldn't wait for them to build Zuul (let alone wait for THE Ecto1 to hit the stores...) so I build my own in the bricks that I have. Grey. Ofcourse it (probably) should be in a nice earth and olive green right...? Well, the Gargoyl out of what this beast emerged is grey, so I'm kinda safe... What else is there to say... Oh yeah, I used the newish Chima Legend beasts build-methods with the balljoints, and really made it my own. That was a fun challenge! :) Enjoy! Next to the GB-minifig and my Ecto1 it is kinda huge. A bit larger than the extralarge dog from the movies, but ofcourse Lego is a material of compromises. I agree that the body could use a little bit more mass... It'll just has to do, for now... Run little GB, Run like the wind! ...and try not to cross your beams... (my Ecto1 can be found here...)
  24. --------------------------THE CAMPAIGN IS NOW ON STANDBYE awaiting new developments http://farm4.staticf..._52ca668221.jpg This is the official "Give your Ghostbusters Minifigs a better arm project" Since the Lego set minifigs don't have the logo printed in the right arm and it's 4 of them per set, I got the idea to have arms printed with the logo in the 3 colors (red, white and black tracing). This will be an enhancement for the Official Minifigures this is the post where the madness began. http://www.eurobrick...25#entry1830330 Now the way I see it in order to make it affordable, we need to pay as a group for the parts and the printing in order for the cost to come down. The alternative would be some kind of business model/venture like other customized pieces are sold in the specialized stores we all know about (the usual suspects). I'm thinking Europe only, but that could change. I have a printing team that can do it at Lego levels of quality (have samples on the way to make sure) The graphic work is free basically, it's everywhere, I mean it's the freaking Gbusters logo, right? So what I'd like to know is are YOU(EB members) interested in making this happen, is this something YOU want, and are willing to help it happen. I'm waiting on pricing and business arrangements to work themselves out, before I delve into the nitty gritty of it. As soon as I have something work out, I'll need: 1-To know how many people want them(a public list will be posted here) 2-Who is able and has the trust of the community to work as a distribution hub (basically you would coordinate within your area or Country) Let's call you the Helpers. 3-Pricing (it's 4 minifig arms, for bricks sake it shouldn't cost us an arm and a leg) 4-How will we Coordinate things.Delivery points or some kind of tree/grapevine system. 5-Other Printers that can do the job as well or better/cheapper etc. 6-Inter fan site Coordination (basically who is active on other sites that would share our objective) Now some questions, should this be a kickstarter type thing? Should we just Cuusoo the arm print, or petition Lego to make it (they could go for it, maybe??) Let me know bellow what you think, keep it concise if possible and let's try and aproach this as a wargame scenario, by objectives and go go go till we make it. Brick on peeps. ---------------------------------- UPDATE2: 22-02-2014 Flickr page: http://www.flickr.co...05/12688000995/ email: Legomazingtoys.eu ("at") gmail.com Right now just to see interest level (there is NO commitment until we have pricing) I'd like those interested to send an Email or PM with the following info: All personal data will be kept confidential ------------------------ First + Last Name City + Country If EB member - Forum name (and paste a link to your profile page - saves me the work) ----------------------- In the text put one of these options: 1- I want to have the lego arms printed with Ghostbusters (and tell us how many you need for yourself) 2- I want to help/join the project - Ghostbusters printed lego arm 3- I support the Ghostbusters printed lego arm logo campaign but not sure if I'll buy the official set yet ----------------------------------------- This will help check the interest levels and see how we can organize ourselves in groups by location. KEEP spreading the word it's working, and if anyone has a conduit to someone official at Lego besides the ambassador here let me know (PM me if you do or email)

    My Ghostbuster MINIFIGS

A few characters i have been working on. I used Brents firehouse building as a background for them just re-textured it and added the ghostbuster symbol, got all the refrences from the new Ghostbuster set thats going to be released also thanks to yellost for helping with the parts for the pack. All textures done from scratch :) Thanks for looking.
