  1. The Murder of Chancellor Ungaran II It was a day of jubilation for the residents of the bustling town of Anemaquar. Ungaran, the Chancellor of the Quatarian Isles had come to meet with the customs collector for the port to discuss further moves in the prosecution of the Isle's civil war. However, Ungaran's lictors were soon required to manage the vast crowds of celebrants (due to the diminutive local garrison) and Ungaran strolled to the grounds of Palatine Hall, the customs office, in solitude. With this opportunity, a local Urgaul Pact radical swiftly lunged at the Chancellor and swiftly burned him to death on the steps of the hall, plunging the town into absolute anarchy, chaos, and confusion. A front and angled view of the Palatine Hall A shot of the assassination Side view A picture of the roof Constructive criticism and tips are appreciated, and there is one more photo on my flickr

    Orcish Marshes

Part 1 'Deep within the Orcish Marshes is the greatest healer I've ever known.' Thorrak continued, 'But the swamp is dangerous. We might not make it.' Thorrak was right. The Orcish Marshes were a treacherous maze of waterways and swamps. It was an area to be avoided where death lurked at every corner. Yet it was here his friend may find his salvation. 'I'm already dying,' Emelio laughed. 'What harm can one more adventure do?'
  4. After several months of construction, and a lot of hard work, the full barracks is finally complete. It comes with a full outfit of 12 soldiers, 2 Non-Coms and 2 Officers. Here it is in all of its glory. Here we see Lord Jakon, freshly arrived to inspect the facility, being greeted by it's commander. Here is a sergeant, surveying the yard. It was at this point that the dwarf realized that clearing snow with an axe would not be as fun as it sounded. The entrance, being guarded by two soldiers. Two mercenaries have decided to join up with a guild, and become legitimate soldiers. A sergeant is making sure that this new recruit is up to snuff. A soldier clears the roof of the armory/storehouse of snow. two logs, stacked, ready to be burnt. The inside of the top story. This is my axe, there are many like it, but this one is mine, my axe is my best friend... The inside of the bottom story, with two dwarves gambling. The bottom story with all furniture removed. Beginnings

Nothing could have prepared Thorrak for the shock he'd just received. 'This is no ordinary disease my friend,' Emelio explained, 'I may look fine now, but unless this corruption can be stopped I fear it will spread. Yet that's where the problem lies. No apothecary or alchemist from here to Valholl can help me.' Thorrak thought deeply for a moment, before fishing out a map from one of his shelves. 'Don't be so sure,' he said with a grin.

    Temple of Tsaulkoth

A free-build for Kaliphlin The Temple of Tsaulkoth is a temple on the outskirts of Anemaquar, the chief city-state in the Kaliphlinite Principality of Quataria. The church is the center of religious worship in Quataria, as well as the seat of the Archpriest of Anemaquar. This is not part of my sigfig's storyline (that will commence in the next post). Constructive critiscism regarding photos and building are welcome. A view of the temple grounds. The tree looks better in real life
  7. Ch II - Prologue - New Leadership - Discussion by mpoh98, on Flickr Part 2 of the GoH Challenge Prologue. Enjoy! Feren sighed happily, breathing in the fresh night's air. Nothing like a walk in the night to freshen you up. Feren was taking another one of his nightly walks, pondering the change of leaders in Avalonia. Even though I will miss Lord Varis, Lord Simon is a very good friend of mine, and his loyalty to Avalonia is unquestionable. His leadership skills will prove useful in the coming times, as we will most likely soon learn what the Drow are up to, and what we need to do to defend. As he trudged through the alleyway, next to the tavern, his fine-tuned ears picked up a conversation. Cocking his head to one side, he concentrated on the source. It's coming from the 2nd floor of the tavern, he realized. Flattening himself next to the wall, he debated whether he should climb it, but discarded the idea. If someone walks by, that would be extremely embarrassing to be caught spying on 2 of my citizens. He listened in, and was just in time to hear them talking about their new leader. Ch II - Prologue - New Leadership - Discussion by mpoh98, on Flickr "What do you think of this new leader, Simon of Nalderic?" Feren's eyes widened, it was one of his Elite Rangers, a man by the name of Roger. He must be taking a break from his shift. "Meh, I personally don't care, as long as he doesn't do anything stupid, and is fair, I'm good." Feren nodded, this man was one of his friends, Gavin was his name. A good man, but slightly on the easygoing side of things, he was very lenient in political matters. "Well," Roger said, "I am glad in the change, as my Lord Feren is a good friend with Lord Simon, I know him to be a fantastic leader, and a good man. I am sure he will make a wonderful leader." Good man, Feren thought to himself. He yawned. It was time he went back to the keep, and to his toasty bed. I've heard enough, things seem to be going well here in Marrock Fortress......I really need to change the name of my castle, it's to repetitive with my island.....anyway my Rangers seem to like him, so that's good. I pray that Simon will turn out to be a good leader as we think he will be, we will need one soon..." Turning around, he silently padded around the corner, and back to the keep. Well, this is my 2nd entry into GoH for the Avalonia mini challenge, and it was an extremely fun build. I had fun building the interior, I need to experiment more with that. Tell me what you think of it, I would love to get better with interiors! Critiques appreciated! Thanks for viewing! Soli Deo Gloria! ~Matthew~
  8. TOPIC LOCKED Use the second quarter registration here. First Quarter Free Build Registration Sept 1st 2013 to March 1st, 2014 (Book II, Quarter 1) What is this thread? This is the thread where YOU register your free build if you wish it to be scored for your guild. Why are you doing this to us? Despite Rogueang’s wonderful MOC index, the guilds project has become quite large. The core leaders feel that we need a self-indexing mechanism that will allow us to grade free builds more efficiently. This is what we have come up with. What do I need to do? Just simply write the following information In a NEW post: Name of Moc with link to the thread | Name of Builder | Guild you belong to IE: Obsidian Spike |ZCerberus | Nocturnus Do not write anything else. What counts as a “Free Build?” Great question! Any GOH build that was not entered in one of the official main challenges or for any official mini-challenge that issued a physical prize. All free builds must have their own thread, and there must be a link to that thread provided here. Do not comment on builds in this thread, please do that on the MOC’s own thread. Can I just post in my guild thread and leave it at that? Whereas you are welcome to do so, if the build does not make it into the index , it will not be scored. Can I put up an entry for another guild member's build? If that builder has disappeared and we are getting near the deadline, this would be allowed.
  9. Fast forward a year, the village has become a town, and with the extra people, and extra trade, the guard must expand the keep up. The newbie is now an excellent swordsman, and has even earned a cloak for himself, befitting his skill level. His old comrade is hard at work training the new recruits. A fresh recruit, learning the basics of swordsmanship A spearman practicing under the watchful eye of his mentor Some recruits advance faster than others, nowhere is this more apparent than in the sparring ring Arm strength is very important, and this recruit is working hard to keep it up Every good Mitgardian has a pile of dangerous weapons somewhere, these are no different! An arhitect and a quartermaster talk over the plans for the new barracks I would also like to claim UoP credits for the following subjects: Landscape Design: Snow and Ice General Building: Minifigure Posing Military Science: Military Camp
  10. Deep in Nocturnus, the black river runs and from its waters several swamps formed. The dark port at Umarth Umbar has sinister aspect and is an unwelcome sight for enemies, protects the west side of the lands, can only be accesed by small ships. A malefice stands on it, the waters turn the living into madness, and only the desperate or fools would dare to attempt to cross it unprepared. The Avalonian exiles stablished a small base on it, and fortified it. I could not post it on time, before the 16th had some issues with my camera, but here it is as a freebuild. =) C&C for improving are appreciated. Cheers!
  11. Hello everyone! I present to you Q'adris the Merchant, from the rugged eastern Kaliphlin coast. " ~SPLAT~ Q'adris cleaned his hand of dead mosquito in his coat and resumed examining the figurines. - A shipment of "finely crafted eagle figurines". Hah.- A smile creeps up to his bearded face- If someone had asked me why was I stocking on those last year... Hah. Hope those folks in Mitgardia, in their Eagle Hold or Fortress, whichever it is, enjoy them. He quite enjoyed the refreshing constant fog in the cliffs, compared to the heat of the desert. As a child, Q'adris had been an orphan boy, switching from caravan to caravan, but now enjoyed a life of prosperity as a respected merchant. Even if his methods involved a lot of hard work, stashing merchandise in the caves on the eastern cliffs to avoid taxes imposed by the sheiks." C&C very welcome, as this is my second MOC :p In retrospective, I need a better set up for pictures and specially the angles, to show more, A shot of the not so worked on back. The flag is conveniently inside the cave, since it should be a hidden refuge. Lastly, a shot sans the tree, rock and shipment, as they were stealing the focus.

    Visiting Herbologists

In the Historica timeline these events happened between NOMEA and Battle at the Ruins of Mehd. ________________________________________________________________________________ After the arrest of the Peregrinus imposter, the Herbologists from Berigora were finally able to meet with Seshii Lahgnseid, Mistress of Herb Lore in the Nestlands. Seshii was about to go on an extended gathering trek, and was more than willing to take the three most experienced of the group along. The trek would take Seshii, Dandin Hep, Gordan Windhoof and Tara Piffle from Cobalt Vale northwest around Nod Nol, then east to the base of Ghuin Nol, and finally south to Seshii's home. 13. So while waiting for Episode two I decided to do a small free build of my character getting the mission brief for Episode 1 from Mon Mothma :) Pihlbrick getting the details on Cloud city platform. It's very important to know where to go to rescue civilians you know. Far away shot for more roof details View from one end And view from the other end Bottom view without the lit up switchboard Standard view without lit up swithchboard I will try to take better pictures in daylight, and hope to have them up before episode two starts,(dramatic music) dun dun dun :) It's hard to tell but the transparent green is supposed to be a holographic representation of parts of cloud city :)t is And so it is updated with blue hologram (thanks Duke) and daylight pictures - which of course makes the light up harder. I would very much like this free build judged :)
  14. Corellia. My home planet. Hadn't been home for a couple of years, and now I was headed there on a mission. Sgt. Logan had put his crew together in a hurry, and told me we would be briefed on the way. My train of thought was interrupted as the video monitor came alive with a familiar face, it was General Rieekan himself! "Good day soldiers, the clock is ticking so I will keep this short and to the point." he said. "As many of you know, we had a base on Corellia for a short period before moving on to Hoth. We left behind a number of weapon and equipment caches since it was deemed to risky to move everything at once. I had hoped to retrieve this equipment by the aid of Han Solo, but unfortunately things did not work out as planned. Due to our recent setbacks, we need that equipment more than ever. One week ago we sent a team with some of our top operatives to facilitate the transport." "Three days ago we lost contact with this team. At first we thought it was just an equipment malfunction, but it's become clear that something has happened. Your mission is to scout their last known location and gather intelligence to find out what happened to them. Meanwhile we will assemble a new transport team, but it is imperative that you provide us with on-site intel so our next team does not walk into a trap. We can not afford to lose more men or equipment." "Sgt. Logan, I have sent you the mission details, make sure you study it well.", Rieekan said. We all looked at the holoprojector as Rieekan continued: "From this point on all your communications will be according to secure protocol. Good luck men." With those final words, the video transmission ended. We looked at each other over the table, saying nothing. Everyone knew this was going to be a difficult mission. Edited image, w/ Lifelites Unedited image, with Technic leds C&C welcome! Please judge this. Yeah, I know about the blooper... Edit: Updated the story Edit2: Doh! Used the wrong unedited image - my apologies - now using correct image with Technic leds
  15. Link to the first part of the story: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=85637 Barely a minute had passed since I climbed out of the maintenance tunnel and into a small utility room before the rest of the team caught up. First up was Jackson, a scary looking Rebel Commando. He was followed by Sgt. Logan, who was our squad leader for the mission. My friend Jak was the last one, he was even more of a rookie than me. "This is is it.", Logan said, "If we pull this off, we might have a chance of getting those civilians out of here alive. We have small window of opportunity, and it is closing fast, so let's get a move on!" We moved along the corridor as quickly and quietly as we could. Logan had instructed me & Jak to ditch our helmets, "The last thing I want is for one of you rookies to bang your head in a doorway and give us away before we are in position" he said. "Yeah, right" I thought to myself, "Only Imperial Stormtroopers are that dumb." Jackson had already taken out the first Stormtrooper without making a sound when I rounded the next corner. He motioned me to follow him and take up position at the door to the guard room while he scouted ahead. Logan & Jak headed up the stairs towards the control room. Just a short moment later I heard the lock on the guard room engage. Whew! That meant Logan & Jak had taken control of the control room and had remotely locked down the guard room. With the control room out of commission we had created a small blind spot so the larger evacution shuttles could approach unnoticed. We knew it wouldn't last long, but at least we had bought ourselves some time for the next part of our mission... C&C welcome! Edit: Added updated pictures, originals can be found here: http://farm4.staticf...db542955d_c.jpg http://farm8.staticf...614ab3fe8_c.jpg Edit 2: Added a link to the start of the story.

    [SonE Free Build] Sabotage

This is my third Ep 1 free build, to get the complete story check these out first: http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=85637 http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=85976 It didn't take us long to find them. The Imperial Forces had hidden their TIE fighters in the one of the Cloud City service hangars.Out of sight but still ready to be deployed at a moments notice. We'd seen 3 fighters take off as we were approaching, but if we could put the remaining 5 out of commission our evacuation shuttles could hopefully approach without being blown to bits. "Prepare your thermal detonator" Sgt. Logan told me. He placed his detonator on the fuelling station, and I quickly followed suit. The resulting explosion would blow out the entire hangar and send what was left of the TIE's plummeting towards Bespin. As we were about to head out, both the doors to the hangar slid open. I saw their white boots even before the door was open: Stormtroopers. "Braze yourselves" Sgt. Logan yelled, "We're gonna have to shoot our way out!". The sneaking part of the mission was definitely over... Some detail shots: And a bonus shot of the greebling: Original image here: http://farm4.staticf...73b657908_c.jpg C&C welcome! I must admit I was not very inspired while building this, feels a bit square and boring to me (or am I just bored of my own ideas? ). There are a few things I know I need to do: - Build a foundation or something so the bottom shadow is eliminated - Move the Endor rebel by the stairs a bit so he's not blocking the only thing that's not square in the MOC - Maybe change the color of the thingamabob in the botom left corner to break things up a bit - Maybe adjust the camera angle a bit, a little higher so the walkway is more visible. Edit: Updated MOC, added a few more photos. Ready to be scored!
  17. A long held tradition during the Summer Festival is the telling of tales. A favorite among Darwynians is the legend of Fortune's Spring. Hidden deep within the forest, shielded from normal sight by magic, is the final resting place of the Druid Maric. His life's goal was to master Alchemy. This he did, but sadly, at the cost of his own life. Though nothing remains of Mari but bones, the power of his final enchantments continue to produce pure gold. As is customary for Alchemists, he was entombed in lead, thus amply feeding the powerful magic. The legend says the fountain gives forth a King's fortune in coins, ingots, and bars. However, none have ever claimed to find it, and many Darwynian youths have been lost in the great forests attempting to locate its vast riches. -From the Book - "Darwynia: A History" by Jarr Darwyn
  18. Farming and Agriculture provide much for the province of Darwynia, and so each Summer a grand celebration sweeps through the land. One of the oldest traditions is widely acknowledged, but rarely spoken of: A visit with the Soothsayer. On the border of the forest Darwynia shares with Benoic, just out of sight from the casual traveler, sits an ancient and dilapidated wagon. It has been converted over what looks like centuries into a ramshackle dwelling, where the Soothsayer herself resides. Women of all the villages in Darwynia gather their boys and girls at least once before their tenth birthday, and travel to see her. For the first three days of Summer they wait for her to choose only ten children. She then reads their fortunes, and commands the children never to speak of what they hear to anyone. Her motivation behind the chosen are unclear, but all have gone on to become notable members of society, royalty, even legend; both beloved and notorious. It is a widely accepted rumor that the Soothsayer once read the fortune of the Mage Talonmere, and his reaction was...less than pleased. The forest area around her shack is rumored to be rich with magical objects and plants. Notable warriors have journeyed to request gifts and blessings from her, but she is known to refuse often. Despite her youthful appearance, the tradition of seeking the Soothsayer has a long legacy. She is never seen in public, and only emerges from her dwelling for the three mornings she ritualistically chooses. Her only companion is a toad named Lorr. It is said he speaks on her behalf in the Human tongue, negotiating the Choosing and other private audiences with her. -From the Book "Darwynia: A History" by Jarr Darwyn

    Onward to Petraea

Though we are newcomers to this land, it is our leader's will that we deliver a gift to our new found allies. Accompanying me are a small band of soldiers along with our healer. The further we traveled, the more we realized that this was just like home. I think I'll enjoy it here... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Djun alongside a pathfinder View of middle carriage and an archer The Back carriage guarded by two soldiers and the healer Pictures of the scenery http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Nightstalker580/Historica/Onward/dsc01603.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Nightstalker580/Historica/Onward/dsc01604.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Nightstalker580/Historica/Onward/dsc01605.jpg Once my business in Petraea is finished, I'll need to find access to the water; with any luck, I'll be able to call in for additional troops and look to settle in this land.

    Valholl Pharmacy

The Pharmacy of Lasvor Nirhad is located in Valholl on the main street, where many customers come by for the latest medicines that the owner offers. On the ground floor is the pharmacy itself. While waiting, customers can sit on a bench. The balance on the counter is an important instrument for all pharmacist! Behind the shopping area is the storage room where Lasvor can experiment with his new compounds to create even more effective drugs. On the second floor is the living area with a fireplace - which comes handy during the long Mitgardian winter - and among others a table with a couple of chairs.

    Return to the East

First of all, I'm sorry. I know I said that Escape From Cedrica would be my last pre-Challenge VI story-build but... well... I was wrong! And secondly, this is the end of my Journey of Exploration, however as that is now so far back and this is not in the shape or style of the previous builds, I'm posting it in a separate topic. I hope you enjoy it, even if you don't read the story! Story: August 20th. We are now in Barqa, though the story of our arrival here is something of a complicated one that is best explained somewhere else. Ageven, much to the surprise of his following, myself excepted, has bought a fairly large ship. I have been told to prepare for a long voyage. I can only speculate on what its use will be for the moment, but I have no doubt that we will hear more ere long. August 21st. My suspicions have been confirmed, and all too accurately. You may perhaps remember my hinting, some time back, of a return voyage, back to the East, to the land where I was born. To say truth, I would not mind visiting the land once again half so much as the voyage. But Ageven is resolved, he has the route planned out - though it will be observed that he declines to go on it - Raz and I will travel back to the east. I know not whether to rejoice or be sad, and it appears I will have no time to decide, for we leave in two days time and there is so much that must be done before hand! Azc will off to Queenscross, to fight in it's defense, so it appears we will soon all be scattered to the four winds - Ageven and Kaflar plan to go round the countryside, recruiting men for Historica's grand fight against Victor Revolword. And here I will end - for now. Hurrah for the land of mountains and deserts, swamps and snow, myth and magic! One day, when Revolword has been defeated, I shall once again roam the countryside of Historica, but for now, we must do all in our power to protect her! End of Story. See the slot by Raz's legs? The boat is also a Treasure Bank (with a slightly different crew): And it can float! Sort of. Below is the Flickr Set: Thanks for checking it out, one of my best yet and certainly my best boat (though that is not saying much)!

    Attack of the Trolls

I built a small battle scene over the holidays and now I finally could take the pics of it. I hope you like it It was a foggy day, Ragnar couldn't even see his hand before his face. Nothing. Just grey, everywhere. In each direction. What should they do? The sentinel was useless. If they were attacked on the other side of the village, they wouldn't even see it. Suddenly, Ragnars friend, the well known Olaf with his two golden braids heard a little noise. It sounded scary. First there was only a small smack, than one more, even one more, until he couldn't couldn't count it. A short cry of a woman. Then he heard a kid whining. He run out of the house... BONG! He just hit the fence of the deer farm. At least Olaf knew, where he was. He managed to stumble to the house of Ragnar. Now they already were two to face the ennemy somewhere around there. Now it went on faster and in a very short time, they were an army of 5 men... The fog cleared up. There was a dead lady lying on the ground. Ragnar run to her, she was his neighbor for a long time. He couldn't feel a pulse. He now saw them: A huge and hungry horde of Trolls, trolling the poor and people in the villages in the mountains, who didn't have an enough good defence. They also noticed him. He run back to his comrade in arms, warning them. And then, the attack already came. It wasn't a battle, it was a massacre. A Troll run against Ragnar, he tried to defend his attack with his sword, but the strenght of his ennemy was to big. BONG! He just hit him in the face. Ragnar fell to the ground. Then, the last thing he saw was how his best friend, Olaf was killed by a bunch of hungry monsters. Then everything became black... Ragnar awake. He was in a house he has never been before. But the much more important thing: There was a beautiful woman he has never seen before. Ragnar: "Good Lady, where are we?" Elsa: "We're in my house, it's a little bit afield from your village. Oh, and please, just call me Elsa." Ragnar: "How the heck did I got here, in the house of such a young lovely woman? I guess you're married, right?" Elsa: "That's quite a long story... Two days ago, the village was attacked by a plundering horde of Trolls. They killed everyone they found. I didn't remarked anything of this attack, until I went to there to go shopping . I came to the village, houses were burned, lichs of soldiers lay around everywhere and it stunk like the pest . I found you, as the only surving of the attack. you were already there for 2 days, aswoon, halfway frozen. I took you with me and now you are here. To your last question: I was married, with an old rich man, who I never loved. My miserly father forced me to marry him. He was in the villige while the attack, he's dead." To be continued...

    Winter Hunter

This little scene is my last CCCX entry; it's for the "Winter Scene" category. From the hunting lodge journal of Andor: “Snow is usually a hindrance to much of life in the Mitgardian winters; however, hunters like me often find it a blessing. The beautiful white landscape makes tracking blood trails from wounded game animals far easier to track. Today I let an arrow loose into a nice buck, it was a well placed shot, but the deer was a strong beast and he staggered for about a half mile before expiring. I might never have found him had it not been for the red blood on the white snow.” I've been trying to work in some icicles, but have been unable to until now. This is also my first foray into trees with no leaves. Flickr link: http://www.flickr.com/photos/mrcp6d/sets/72157632391079312/
