  1. Day 6: Hemispheres There is unrest in the forest There is trouble with the trees For the Maples want more sunlight And the Oaks ignore their pleas The trouble with the Maples (And they're quite convinced they're right) They say the Oaks are just too lofty And they grab up all the light But the Oaks can't help their feelings If they like the way they're made And they wonder why the Maples Can't be happy in their shade There is trouble in the forest And the creatures all have fled As the Maples scream 'Oppression!' And the Oaks just shake their heads So the Maples formed a union And demanded equal rights As night silently falls, the now familiar sounds of mechanical day and the hum of tree-killing tools fills Galidor. Burt and Ernie start by felling one of the larger trees of the forest, a hearty birch tree. It’s hard work, but a few hours later Berty lies on the forest floor. Mr. Big Chief gets to work in another section of the forest. And soon enough, Nash Ash joins Berty as a victim of the night. Walter gets to work with his chainsaw on yet another tree. Suddenly, his saw strikes something very solid in the heart of the tree. Apparently some activists had implanted steel spikes into the trunk to prevent it from being chopped down. Walter’s chainsaw goes flying through the air, still running... … and barely misses Mr Big Chief before miraculously cutting cleanly through Peter Cedar. Meanwhile, Burt and Ernie finish the job Walter started, felling Chester Chestunut. In a fit of uncharacteristic rage, Mr Big Chief dynamites the stump, leaving a large hole where Peter once stood proudly. The Elder Alder Alden wakes to the carnage of the previous night. “Four more beautiful trees felled during the night. I fear our world is being torn asunder into hollow hemispheres. “Once again, your voting has not produced fruit. Berty Birch was a loyal Oak. So were his friends, Nash Ash and Chester Chestnut. Peter Cedar’s stump is missing, so I cannot tell you his alignment. “So many trees gone, and yet not a verified Maple among them. Please, find a Maple today.” The NPCs: Elder Alden Alder Burt Ernie Mr Big Chief Walter The Players: Adelaide Apple, played by TinyPiesRUs Bruce Spruce, played by Tamamono Jack Pine, played by mostlytechnic Lassie Sassafras, played by fhomess Sammy Sycamore, played by Fugazi Simon Persimmon, played by Hinckley Sue Sumac, played by Bob William Willow, played by Scubacarrot The Fallen: Alastair Pear, played by Brickelodeon – Lynched Day 1 – Alignment Unknown Lauren Laurel, played by PirateDave84 – Felled Night 1 – Oak Buck “Dollar” Poplar, played by Mencot – Felled Night 1 - Oak Catarina Dogwood, played by adventurer1 – Lynched Day 2 - Oak Agnes Cyprus, played by JackJonesPaw – Felled Night 2 - Oak Vicky Hickory, played by Stickfig – Felled Night 2 – Oak Larry Larch, played by TheLazyChicken – Lynched Day 3 - Oak Clem Elm, played by Scaevola – Felled Night 3 – Oak Bobby Beech, played by Lord Duvors – Felled Night 3 - Oak Barry Cherry, played by jluck – Felled Night 3 – Alignment Unknown Hazel Hazelnut, played by Goliath – Lynched Day 4 – Alignment Unknown Maggie Magnolia, played by Calanon – Felled Night 4 – Oak Waldorf Walnut, played by jamesn – Felled Night 4 – Oak Berty Birch, played by Dragonfire – Lynched Day 5 – Oak Nash Ash, played by Zepher – Felled Night 5 – Oak Chester Chestnut, played by Lego Spy – Felled Night 5 – Oak Peter Cedar, played by badboytje88 – Felled Night 5 – Alignment Unknown The Rules, by which we shall play: 1. Each player will be given a character to play. That character will be aligned with either the Oaks or the Maples. To win the game, the Oaks must lynch or kill off all of the Maples, while the Maples need to outnumber the voting members of the Oaks. Any Third Party characters will have their own win conditions. 2. Each day will be played out in its own topic. During the day you will be able to vote to expel (lynch) a player. Voting must be done in the following format: Vote: Character (Player). Similarly, unvoting is to be done in the format: Unvote: Character (Player). No other format will be accepted. A majority vote is required to expel (lynch) a player, meaning that over half of the remaining players must vote for the same player to warrant a lynch. 3. A game day will last for 72 hours. You may not vote in the first 24 hours. The day will end after those 72 hours. After the day has concluded, a night will commence, which will last a maximum of 48 hours. Night actions must be sent to the host in the first 24 hours of nighttime. You may not post about the game openly on Eurobricks during that time (but may continue to use private messages). 4. The alignment of lynched players, as well as those that died during the night, will be revealed at the beginning of the next day. 5. You may not quote or pretend to quote anything sent to you by the game host via PM. This includes the details of your character and role, as well as any night action results. Role claims and reporting of night action results are acceptable, but in your own words only. Do not attempt to use the structure of your role PM to your advantage. 6. You may not quote/post anything sent to you by another player via PM. If you wish to use information gained in this way, you must do so in your own words only. 7. Do not play the game outside the day threads. Similarly, do not post out-of-character inside the day threads. Game tactics and roles may only be discussed in the game thread or via PM with other players. Private discussion is done at your own risk and should be treated as part of the game. 8a. If you are a Tree Stump, you MAY (and are encouraged to) continue to take part in the Day thread discussions. Tree Stumps may not Vote, they may not use Night Actions, and they cannot be voted for or targeted at night. 8b. If you are dead, you may not post in thread or discuss the game with any of the players (living or dead). Any information you had becomes void, and may not be passed on. 9. Don't edit your posts. 10. You must post in every day thread. 11. Violation of the above rules will result in a 5-vote penalty against you on your first offense, and the death of your character on your second offense. 12. If at any time another player asks you to violate these rules (for example, asking you to give them your role PM), report this to the host immediately along with PM proof of the violation.
  2. Day 5: A Farewell to Kings There is unrest in the forest There is trouble with the trees For the Maples want more sunlight And the Oaks ignore their pleas The trouble with the Maples (And they're quite convinced they're right) They say the Oaks are just too lofty And they grab up all the light But the Oaks can't help their feelings If they like the way they're made And they wonder why the Maples Can't be happy in their shade There is trouble in the forest And the creatures all have fled As the Maples scream 'Oppression!' And the Oaks just shake their heads Night falls once again on Galidor, and the humans enter with their tools that bring death to the forest. Walter begins the night’s work by felling Hazel Hazelnut. Once on the ground, Walter remembers the Chief saying that this stump is to be removed. He sets the dynamite, lights the fuse, and then runs like hell. The explosives do their work, and where once stood a hazelnut tree, all that remains is a hole. Burt and Ernie get the honor of felling one of the largest trees in the forest. After hours of cutting, finally Waldorf Walnut falls to the ground. Mr Big Chief prepares to fell a smaller tree, but Burt interrupts him. “I’ve always wanted to try this!” Burt exclaims, as he takes a running start, then jumps into a flying ninja kick. As he picks himself up off the ground, he is amazed that it actually worked. Maggie Magnolia lies there, separated from her stump. The Elder Alder Alden stirs once again to find more of the beautiful trees gone from the forest. “It is with a sad heart that we must bid farewell to one of the kings of this forest, Waldorf Walnut. He was one of the oldest trees here, and a good friend. He was one of the staunchest Oaks as well. “It seems Maggie Magnolia is also missing. Her rings indicate that she, too, was an Oak. “And it comes as little surprise that Hazel Hazelnut has been removed, stump and all. I wish I could tell you that you found a Maple, but I am unable to. Time grows short. You must start finding some Maples. Go.” The NPCs: Elder Alden Alder Burt Ernie Mr Big Chief Walter The Players: Adelaide Apple, played by TinyPiesRUs Berty Birch, played by Dragonfire Bruce Spruce, played by Tamamono Chester Chestnut, played by Lego Spy Jack Pine, played by mostlytechnic Lassie Sassafras, played by fhomess Nash Ash, played by Zephyr Peter Cedar, played by badboytje88 Sammy Sycamore, played by Fugazi Simon Persimmon, played by Hinckley Sue Sumac, played by Bob William Willow, played by Scubacarrot The Fallen: Alastair Pear, played by Brickelodeon – Lynched Day 1 – Alignment Unknown Lauren Laurel, played by PirateDave84 – Felled Night 1 – Oak Buck “Dollar” Poplar, played by Mencot – Felled Night 1 - Oak Catarina Dogwood, played by adventurer1 – Lynched Day 2 - Oak Agnes Cyprus, played by JackJonesPaw – Felled Night 2 - Oak Vicky Hickory, played by Stickfig – Felled Night 2 – Oak Larry Larch, played by TheLazyChicken – Lynched Day 3 - Oak Clem Elm, played by Scaevola – Felled Night 3 – Oak Bobby Beech, played by Lord Duvors – Felled Night 3 - Oak Barry Cherry, played by jluck – Felled Night 3 – Alignment Unknown Hazel Hazelnut, played by Goliath – Lynched Day 4 – Alignment Unknown Maggie Magnolia, played by Calanon – Felled Night 4 – Oak Waldorf Walnut, played by jamesn – Felled Night 4 - Oak The Rules, by which we shall play: 1. 3. DAY 4: 2112 There is unrest in the forest There is trouble with the trees For the Maples want more sunlight And the Oaks ignore their pleas The trouble with the Maples (And they're quite convinced they're right) They say the Oaks are just too lofty And they grab up all the light But the Oaks can't help their feelings If they like the way they're made And they wonder why the Maples Can't be happy in their shade Once again, night falls on the copse at the center of Galidor. And again, the silence is shattered by the roar of generators, the hum of chainsaws, the pounding thud of axe-falls and the rhythm of hand saws at work. Burt and Ernie work diligently and with care. Their expertise shows, and soon Larry Larch lies on the forest floor. Mr. Big Chief rests on his axe, watching as Barry Cherry falls down. “Walter” he shouts. “Did you bring the dynamite?” “Right here, boss!” “Good. This stump needs to be removed.” Moments later, a tremendous boom echoes through the remaining trees. All that is left is a blackened hole where Barry once stood. Walter also takes time to relax, after cutting down Clem Elm in the prime of his life, as Burt and Ernie put in some overtime bringing Bobby Beech down. The next morning, Elder Alden Alder addresses the remaining trees. “What do you think you trees are doing?! Four trees felled last night?! At this rate, none of us will survive. “When we started this, I expected 2 trees felled, hopefully with 1 Maple. 1 Maple in 2 trees would have been acceptable losses. Not four. And I can’t even read Barry’s alignment, his stump has been removed. I can tell you that Larry, Clem and Bobby were all Oaks. “You must do better today. 4. This was my entry for the Merry Band category of the CCC XII. This is a scene from Walt Disney's version of Robin Hood. Robin Hood and Little John dress up as"fortune tellers", and make away with Prince John's gold and royal robes: All C&C appreciated
  5. DAY 2: FLY BY NIGHT There is unrest in the forest There is trouble with the trees For the Maples want more sunlight And the Oaks ignore their pleas The loggers enter the forest that night. At first there is relative quiet, then the raucous noise of a portable generator fills Galidor, as floodlights bring day to the inky darkness. “Hey boss, we’re looking for a pear tree, right?” calls Burt. “I found one right here!” “Aww, it’s just a sapling,” cries Ernie. “Well, a pear is what we came for, and a pear is what we’ll take,” says Mr Big Chief. “But boss, it’s so small and frail,” Ernie argues, why, I could almost reach out and pluck…” “OOOPS.” With surprisingly little effort, Ernie plucks Alastair Pear right out of the ground, roots and all. All that is left is a small mound of deep, rich soil where he once stood. “Well, I guess our job is done here,” says Walter. “Not so fast. It seems there are some other trees we get to take down tonight,” Mr Big Chief says. “We’ll fell them tonight, then come tomorrow to pick them up. Get to work.” The sounds of sawing and the bite of hatchets goes on through the night. It’s enough to cause the trees to stir, but not enough to wake them from their sleep. The following morning, Alden the Elder Alder calls the trees to attention. “It seems the humans have done their dirty work, and I must say, it is not positive for us Oaks. Alastair Pear has indeed been removed, but there is no stump left for me to examine. I cannot tell you his alignment. “In addition, Buck ‘Dollar’ Poplar was taken down last night. “Lauren Laurel has been felled as well. Both of their stumps clearly show that they are Oaks. “There is some good news, however. Since Buck and Lauren’s stumps remain, they can still speak, though it might pain them to do so. “So get to it, find me a Maple.” MOD NOTE: There are some rule changes, highlighted below, concerning Tree Stumps. 6. DAY 1: RUSH There is unrest in the forest There is trouble with the trees Standing tall over all the other trees in the heart of Galidor forest is the Elder, Alden Alder. As the trees rouse from their nightly slumber, he begins to speak. “My brethren, I am glad to see all of you well on this beautiful morn. I fear, however, that much darker days lie ahead. “As most of you know, the Maples have always been frustrated by the heights the Oaks reach. They feel that the Oaks block all of the light, and become frustrated by their lack of pure sunlight. “It seems the Maples have decided to take a more aggressive stand. I have evidence that they have contacted the human loggers, guaranteeing access to our sacred grove here at night. Their plans are to allow the loggers to harvest the Oaks at night, removing them and claiming the forest for themselves! We cannot allow this to happen! We must fight back. “I would call out the Maples right now, and admonish them publicly. But in my advanced age, I seem to have forgotten who among you are Maples and who are Oaks. Unfortunately the only way to tell for certain is for me to examine the ring patterns from a tree’s stump. “So here is what I decree. Each day you must talk amongst yourselves. Then you will vote for the tree you feel most strongly is a Maple. I will contact the humans and have that tree felled during the night, and in the morning I will examine the rings on the stump. Once we have removed all of the Maples, our forest will once again have peace. Yes, some wonderful Oaks may be lost, but our forest will be healthier in the long run for it! “So that’s it. Go, root out those Maples!” The trees’ leaves wilt slightly. It will be hard to watch their friends, their forest-mates, die a foul and horrible death. But the Elder’s words are not to be disobeyed. They sadly begin their task… The NPCs: Elder Alden Alder Burt Ernie Mr Big Chief Walter The Players: Adelaide Apple, played by Tiny Pies are Us Agnes Cyprus, played by JackJonesPaw Alastair Pear, played by Brickelodeon Barry Cherry, played by jluck Berty Birch, played by Dragonfire Bobby Beech, played by Lord Duvors Bruce Spruce, played by Tamamono Buck “Dollar” Poplar, played by Mencot Catarina Dogwood, played by adventurer1 Chester Chestnut, played by Lego Spy Clem Elm, played by Scaevola Hazel Hazelnut, played by Goliath Jack Pine, played by mostlytechnic Larry Larch, played by TheLazyChicken Lassie Sassafras, played by fhomess Lauren Laurel, played by PirateDave84 Maggie Magnolia, played by Calanon Nash Ash, played by Zephyr Peter Cedar, played by badboytje88 Sammy Sycamore, played by Fugazi Simon Persimmon, played by Hinckley Sue Sumac, played by Bob Vicky Hickory, played by Stickfig Waldorf Walnut, played by jamesn William Willow, played by Scubacarrot The Rules, by which we shall play: 1. 7. Here is my entry to Category C of Challenge III. Hope you enjoy the builds, especially Slowbelly Keep which was my big project of the year. And I tried some new stuff with it, including SNOT walled buildings with interiors. The events here take place just after my Category A build: link. Several dwarven clans had been given the mission of invading Avalonia from above ground while others advanced through tunnels. So far everything was going as planned for the dwarves. The groups on the surface used tents to set up temporary camps as they journeyed to the border: Thanks to Jonathan, Glorfindel now had a good idea of what the dwarves' plans were, but he still needed more specific information so that he could stop the dwarves before they crossed the border. Therefore he payed a visit to Kenan, the candlemaker in Hradheim, and one of the best sources of information in Mitardia: Hradheim was located just south of Amortug, which made it easy for Kenan or his apprentices to pick up bits of information about the dwarven invasion from dwarves traveling through the town. Kenan was able to supply Glorfindel with the routes several dwarven clans were taking to infiltrate Avalonia, and which clans were most in favor of the attack and which were just going along with the others. Realizing that quick action was called for, Glorfindel dispatched messengers to arrange a meeting involving Elves, Dwarves, and Men at the great hall in Fjollum, a city located almost on top of the Mitgardia/Avalonia border and often used for diplomatic meetings. Then Glorfindel himself led a group of calvary to capture the Anarfell clan leader, one of the staunchest supporters of the invasion: Surrounded and outnumbered, even the stubborn dwarves realized that surrender was the only option. After disarming the group, Glorfindel and his men escorted the dwarves to deserted Slowbelly Keep (rumoured to have been the cage of Slowbelly the dragon in ages past), which would serve as their temporary prison. After securing the prisoners and mounting a fresh horse, Glorfindel rode for Fjollum... See here for continuation of story. A section of the dwarven army had already reached Avalonia and moved into place to besiege Myrr Castle, a strategically placed stronghold vital to the success of the invasion. The dwarven siege engines were in place and they had already made good progress on a tunnel under the castle, when a dwarven messenger mounted on a warg charged in to deliver news. Fortunately the message arrived in time to prevent bloodshed. The catapult and ballista work, watch here: And you can see a video of the build process as well: And that concludes my Challenge III builds. C&C appreciated
  8. Walter Kovacs proudly presents his first Mafia Game: Unrest in the Forest I am looking for 23 players. If I get more, I will look into adding more roles. If I get less, I'll adjust accordingly. For those that have never played a Mafia game before, but are interested: feel free to sign-up. I will give preference to those who have completed at least one Mafia-school game, but if I'm severely short on players I will let Noobies in. My first game was a non-Mafia school game, so it is certainly is possible to play well in a big boy game without Mafia School. A few questions: 1. How many Mafia games have you played here on EB? 1a. If you have NOT played any games, how many have you read through? Have you ever visited and looked through Mafiascum? 2. Have you read the Rules (which are provided below for your convenience)? Are you prepared to follow them? 3. Do you promise to have fun, and treat the game as a game? The Rules, by which we shall play: 1. Each player will be given a character to play. That character will be aligned with either the Oaks or the Maples. To win the game, the Oaks must lynch or kill off all of the Maples, while the Maples need to outnumber the Oaks. 8. EDIT: How the hell did that happen? I never hit post. I'll clean this up a bit, give me a few minutes. EDIT2: Dear God, this is bordering on ridiculous. The extra sign-up threads need to go away. Still no clue how this sort of thing happens.
  9. For the TECHNIC Mini contest at Eurobricks last summer, I’ve made a KOMATSU 931.1 harvester with exactly 200 parts. The harvester have some functions. One of them, you can rotate the cabin by turning the exhaust pipe. The functions are described in the picture below: 09_KOMATSU_931.1_technical_description by LegoMathijs, on Flickr I haven't broke down the model, so I’ve made a forest display for the KOMATSU 931.1. I hope you like the display

  11. My entry for Category B of the Midde Earth Contest. The Age of Men is now in the present and the Kingdom of Arnor is restored. Arnor soldiers are sent out to the east of their capital to patrol areas for retreating orcs. Instead of finding orcs, these Arnor soldiers encountered a bear cave with an old bear residing in it. Well, at least it isn't another orc pack... Radagast is spotted on the ridge, but will he help the Arnor soldiers? Inside: I thought I would throw Radagast in there because there is no concrete evidence that places him out of Middle Earth during the Age of Men.

    Mirkwood Entanglement

My second entry for the MEC contest, this one for Category C. While finishing off the deadly and large Mirkwood spiders, the Dwarven Company is entangled again, this time with the elves.
  13. Just another quick freebuild (only noticed that the camera angle is a bit wierd ) Wanted to to try and improve the texturing for the grass on my builds, so hopefully I pulled it off. Also wanted to see if I can try and improve my trees I also wanted to attempt blood splatter and posing for the dead minifig, not sure if it worked All C&C welcome

    MOC Clearing in the forest

This was a quick build during a short break from sorting a pile of various foliage bricks. Instead of putting them in the corresponding zipbags, drawers and boxes, I mixed them together in this mini MOC. The center of the MOC is the fawn from the Collectible Friends Animals. I actually like it better without the bow and in a forest, partly hidden by dense growth. Dense growth and tall trees are partly hiding the fawn, when viewing from the back side of the forest.
  15. -The following Quest is for Chosen Heroes Only! If you'd like to join the game, please check out the FAQ section- Three new, inexperienced, but eager heroes meandered about the ever changing city of Eubric in hopes that one of them knew where the Apothecary was. There employer, the mysterious Kianu, was waiting for them in an alley behind the establishment. These three heroes were... People haggling with merchants, children running about, horse hooves trotting along on the stone. It seemed like a normal day in the city for once. The trio finally make it to the Apothecary and head around the back, only for a curious sound to fill their ears: singing. The aria of a young woman drifted out of the back alley, and as the party approached they could hear it more clearly. "...Down along under Hill, shining in the sunlight, Waiting on the doorstep, for the cold starlight, There my pretty lady, River-woman's daughter, slender as the willow wand, clearer than the water?" As the party enters the alley they get a closer look at their employer. A young woman, no older than 16 sits on crate, her top worn and simplistic, but charming, and her hair as fiery as dragon flames. A small flock of animals gather around, seemingly listening to the young woman as she sings. At the first sign of the party, the critters dash off, seemingly disappearing. The young woman turns to the party, looking surprised. "Well, you guys are fashionably late." She jumps of the crate she's sitting on, and grabs her staff, only for the party to note that something was different about the girl. She was a taurian, a satyr to be exact. "Morning lads, the name's Kianu. I'm the one that posted the notice in the hall. I'm glad someone answered my plea, even if it could be me just overreacting. So, perhaps I should answer your questions before we head off? We've got a little bit of a hike before we reach the Murkwood." OOC: Wilkomennen, Bienunvenue, Welcome! For some of you, this is your first quest, others your second, so if you got any questions, or are a little confused, feel free to ask me. I'm here to make sure you guys get everything. As well, since this is your first quest, Lego Spy, let me explain how to interact with things out of battle. If there's a character you wish to speak to, an item you wish to look at or interact with, simply bold your decision, like so! Feel free to try it on some of the items in the background, or on Kianu herself if you wish to ask her something. Generally when asking an NPC a question, bold the question so your QM knows what you want an answer back to. Also, if I screw up or miss something, please let me know. I am only human, so I do intend I'll muck up some battle rolls or something or another. I went through your inventories and fixed a few things, but Lego Spy, how did you get that potion? If you bought it from the Marketplace, you should be down five gold. If someone gave it to you, that's okay too. I just need to know since your class starts off with a single smoke bomb, no potion included. You guys have 24 hours to confirm. Let's get started!
  16. “We have located a site that might be suitable for the generator,” they said, “but our sensors can’t get a very detailed view of it. Go check it out” So here I am, surfing over the forest of the green moon in my TIE Bomber. And not a tiny bit regretful to be away from battle for this one time. I still need time since… since Sullust. Being away from war, some nature, no killing to do… that will surely clear my mind. My computer says I’m approaching my target location. Not much to see here, except form those tightly packed trees that populate this planet like skyscrapers on Coruscant, making it nearly impossible to reach most places. But they say this particular position offers some kind of tactical advantage. Well, let’s find out. Let’s ready some seismic bombs to clear the area to get a closer look. Let’s pull the trigger, and bombs away… A strange feeling overwhelms me… pulling that trigger… Two loud explosions resonate through the forest. It shivers and trembles as if it’s frightenend. When the last dry creaks and dust settle into silence, the wound becomes apparent. Like the footprint of a giant, all forest has fled away from a gaping patch of destruction. Slowly and carefully I manoeuvre my craft to my newly created landing site. I shut down the engines, and all is silent. [soNE Ep. V] Uprooted by Bert.VR, on Flickr From down here, the destruction becomes even more apparent. Frightened ferns have flocked together, while a once mighty tree got uprooted. Respecting the victims of this unfair battle, I silently unload the analysing equipment. Now it’s just waiting for the long analysis to end. The humming of the machine seems almost disrespectful in this perfect si- Snap [soNE Ep. V] The human in me by Bert.VR, on Flickr A strange, furry creature is staring at me from between the bushes. I must be staring back. The creature begins walking towards me, muttering, accelerating, raising its spear. It comes running at me, suddenly silent, with a look of determination. I already have my blaster in my hands, and I’m ready to pull the… No… not again… I’m acting on instinct now, but somehow something in me – the human in me - is powerful enough to set the blaster to stun just in time. And I pull. The creature stops, and with a look of anger crashes down on the ground. I’m deeply impressed. This might have been my very first shot where I wasn’t the victim of. Instead of blindly shooting, I finally did what is right. Not what’s right according to the instructor of the academy, but what feels right. I’ve spared the life of an innocent creature that had nothing to do with this war. This is what it feels like to be a hero. Heroes must be the ones that know when not to pull the trigger. It seems that I’ve done something good in this horrible war. That uncertainty of the past couple of months… gone. I am a good person after all. I almost want to thank that creature for attacking me… But why would it attack me? Sure, it might have been confused after the blast. Perhaps I destroyed a part of its home. But whatever it was, at least no one died today. No collateral damage this time. Instead, I gently put the unconscious creature in a bed of ferns. A beep from the analysing equipment indicates that it is time for a second sample. With a renewed bounce in my step, I begin to pull it to the other side of the landing site. I stop when I discover a path between the plants. This must be where the creature came from. It goes straight into the forest, until it’s blocked by that tree, where… It can’t be… It may not be… What have I done… My legs give away, and for who knows how long, I just sit there, staring into the distance. [soNE Ep. V] No... not again by Bert.VR, on Flickr I have killed once more. Another creature couldn’t get away in time and was buried beneath a tree. Only its tiny legs remain. And it’s my fault. This time, I caused a fluffy tragedy. I have become as despicable as those who I always despised. Who was I to think I’m a good person after all. This time, it wasn’t even a foe. Not even a friend. The creature had nothing to do with this war we’re fighting. It never accepted the risk of getting killed for its cause. And yet it perished in this war. They call it collateral damage. As if it is not at all important and can just be ignored. This creature, these trees with all the invisible but beautiful life. Just collateral damage. How absurd. Everything that I’ve been telling myself in the past is simply invalid. Nothing is trivial in a war. And not a thing that you do isn’t your responsibility. That’s the thing about war. You start and fight with only your goal in mind. And then you even begin to forget that and only think war… war… war… You don’t see what happens. Well, you don’t see what really happens. You’re not clearing a landing site. You’re destroying age-old fauna and flora. You’re not stopping the enemy. You take the life of a living being. You’re not a hero. You’re a monster. War clouds your mind with brutality. War is blinding. I kept telling myself I could go on with this war, as long as it didn’t involve direct battle. But I was wrong. How can I participate in such an act of collective and destructive blindness, even with trivial acts? This small… small and everything but unimportant event… it uprooted my entire way of thinking about this war. Just like this tree, it was firm once. But one big blast threw it over, causing death and destruction… On the other hand, once the dust has cleared up, new light reaches the soil, and new beautiful things get a chance to grow. Once, I firmly believed in the good of this war, perhaps even without any good reason. I shot, I bombed for it. And my own acts, my own shots I fired, my own bombs I dropped, blew me away. Seeing all the damage I’ve done, all the sorrow I’ve dealt, I lost those roots. And nothing but a wreck remains. Immobile, without any purpose. But new lights starts sipping into my mind. What good is it to leave this war? It will still be as destructive. That’s no way to repay for all that I’ve done. I must end this war without one spill of blood. War will be the only victim of my further deeds. Only then will all of this get a meaning. But how? How can I end this war without damage for my friends and without damage for my foes? What’s good for one, is bad for the other. It’s impossible. I’m just a simple pilot, I have no power. But what about these inspired moments... when I refuse to kill a creature that’s attacking me. Maybe not all is lost after all. When the new tiny plants bath in fresh sunlight, maybe then I will be strong enough to do something. But now, those little plants are fragile… and the eclipse of war is still glooming. But through losing my roots, I think I’ve finally found firm ground. I’m not happy. Just determined. But still sad. The data of the analysing equipment indicate that this site isn’t fit for construction. Maybe it’s for the better: this place might find rest again. But then what was the meaning of all this? That’s the question I have to answer. I feel weak. [soNE Ep. V] Firm ground? by Bert.VR, on Flickr ___________________ You can find the LDD file here EDIT: instructions for the TIe Bomber can be found at Rebrickable, if anyone would be interested. The build consists of 2377 bricks. The TIE bomber (including pilot) has exaclty 1000! I hope you enjoy it. Comments are more then welcome.

  18. Hello Radagast the brown? That guy with the bird poop in his face? -Exactly! ;) About one year ago Peter Jackson brought us the first Hobbit movie and i love it like the three Lord of the Ring movies. I'm especially a fan of the nice landscapes and great settings. Not at least they are phenomenal inspiration for MOCs i build and MOCs i will build. One of my favorite characters of the movie is of course Radagast. His outfit, doing and in particular his house are so strange and unique but that makes him so cool. My realization of this hut was build for the Bricking Bavaria 2013 in Munich and a i really liked the challenges this build gave me. And especially to solve them and find a solution. Like in the movie Rhosgobel is surrounded by trees, plants, a stream and several animals. The pictures couldn't catch every detail, but i hope you get a good view. ] For more and bigger pictures follow the links to flickr and MOCpages. Hope you enjoyed this little trip to middle Earth. [MOC] Outland Ruins

"What once was a castle stronghold now lie in ruins as the forest slowly overtakes its stone walls with vines and creepers. Remnants of a battle once fought and lost remain under the shadow of the mighty tree, a grim sight amidst the deceptive calm and peace of the forest. Today, a swordsman has wandered too far away from the path and is now cornered by two territorial hungry beasts. Will he survive, or will he become another one of the fallen men in the ruins of the outlands?" Well, it's been a long time since I've made an MOC, but finally it's here! It took about a day or so from the initial idea to final shots, and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I still have to find other ways to build trees though, because this is just lame considering the awesome trees other people have built here The Setting: Close-ups: That's about it then. What do you think about it? Feedback and comments are a thousand times appreciated and welcome Cheers!

  22. Hey all! This is my first Castle - themed MOC. I have always enjoyed this theme, as some of my first sets as a kid were Castle sets. After seeing many great MOCs and scenes from builders here, I thought I'd have a go at one. I decided to do a forestmen type creation, as they have always been a favorite LEGO faction to me. Anyway, here it is. This is the overall scene, built on a 32 x 32 base. And that's it . Thanks for viewing, and as always, C&C welcome. EDIT: More photos and full set on Flickr

    S&S Wildland Ultra XT 6x6

***Updated pictures ***Added .LXF file - http://www.mediafire...15pccqmlrfh27uw ***Updated .LXF file (changed non-existant pieces, replaced rear "storage boxes" with safes, strengthened some areas) Behold the second ever LEGO Ultra XT 6x6 built to date haha You've seen it in 6-wide, now let's see how it looks in the mighty 8-wide! Features: -Opening doors -Rolling wheels -Colors -Made of plastic lol -There's a hidden floor compartment to stash dirty underwear: -Just to add a play feature, I made the top hinged so it can easily be filled with "water". -Ideally I'd use a 2x2 manget plate with magnet for the rear dump valve, but I can't find the magnet plate in LDD. -There's a 10-stud long, 2-stud wide, 4-plate tall compartment running down the middle of the chassis, great for storing shovels, pulaskis, fishing rods, hot mermaids, etc. -Not exactly sure what's supposed to go in that empty section visible from the top -Could easily make it modular, it would just take some strategic placing of tiles on the chassis.
