  1. Hi, Can anyone tell me if Big Ben Bricks is still selling their custom wheels? I tried to send a couple of emails, but got a blank ‘auto reply’ both times. thanks
  2. Admitting I'm something of a purist at heart, most minifig customs I have done have no actual alteration (just mixed & matched lego parts) but my sister offered to paint one of my fedoras, and I was shocked at how much better it looked. It was a lesson in how far a little custom work can go. The Shadow is a comic hero that was the main inspiration for the original Batman, V for Vendetta, and many others. I hope you guys like this minfig, even slightly modified, as much as I do. "Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men? The Shadow knows!"

    Third Party Lego Customs

Greetings everyone. I was just browsing some of the third part sites that sell custom designed helmets for Star Wars characters, and for those of you who have purchased such items before, I had a couple questions. What is the difference between LEGO Brand, Arealight, and Clone Army customs? In particular I'm considering purchasing a Captain Rex helmet and I'm curious which company is superior between the three. Which company has the best quality of material? Which company's helmet is the most accurate? Thank you in advance if anyone answers!
  4. If it's ok with you guys, I would like to share some of my customs To make them I mainly used: decals "scotch decals" (thanks to mkeller234) permanent markers (like Stabilo OHPen Universal) You can find MOCs and other stuff on my Flickr page. Baron von Strucker This is my first custom ever. I edited a decal made by Emperor Krulos. Phil Coulson The face is from the S.H.I.E.L.D. agent from 76036, the decal of the torso is designed by Concore, and to make the I.C.E.R. I simply painted a custom gun. "Deathlok" Mike Peterson To make the torso I painted a Falcon's one. Iron Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. VS Iron Agent of Hydra The S.H.I.E.L.D. torso was a bit complicated: to make the white of the reactor I had to apply a white sticker between the torso and the transparent decal. Yes, I know I cheated...the Hydra torso is from Iron Skull (76048) Tell me what you think...I hope good things! Coming soon: - Coulson's Energy Shield - Whiplash (Iron Man 2) - Tony Stark racer (Iron Man 2)

This thread has been created so that we can show off our collection of Marvel figures and sets. I want to see your collections and anything you have to accentuate them, including custons and 3rd party items! I will kick this off with some of the evil bad guys in the Marvel Universe. Probably the most evil of Marvel baddies!
  8. Has anything like this ever happened to you? According to the Swedish news agency TT, a Lego collector in Halmstad, Sweden is to be compensated by the customs office in Sweden. He had bought an anniversary edition of some Star Wars set from Hungary, but when he recieved the supposed to be MISB item, it had been opened by the customs (in search of ripoffs maybe ). The market price was about € 200, but with the seal broken it's value is only about half as much. He will now be compensated with the difference in value... If I had been a collector and not a builder I suppose I would rather have had that MISB than the compensation. /Thomas
  9. Figure'd I'd start a topic for my customs. Why not? Mr. Spock by Borador1, on Flickr A.L.F by Borador1, on Flickr "You've redecorated!" by Borador1, on Flickr ... More on my Flickr. Enjoy!
  10. For the past few hours, I've been trying to make a decent decal for the torsos of a few of my minifigs. However, it has not been working out well... I cannot describe exactly what I am trying to create, as it is based off the uniform (in my head) that certain characters in a novel I am writing wear. Let's just say it is along the lines of a kimono... So, what I really am trying to achieve is the "wrinkle" effect that you see in the printing of most modern LEGO torso designs. As seen here: Note: look to the bottom of her kimono/dress for the creases/wrinkles... The "kimono" I am designing is less feminine, and completely white... so I can't just really copy the design of this one... So, does anyone have any advice on how to achieve the wrinkle/crease effect that LEGO uses to make the printing of their torsos look like actually worn clothing...such as the subtle lines on the second layer of her dress/kimono? And or any other tricks that LEGO uses when designing their torsos... Thanks, ~Deme PS: Hoping I posted this in the right sub-forum.
