    [MOC] The Resting Tower

“Weary from the long journey, our heroes find the toppled great tower looming before them. An unspoken question haunted them: had the daughter of the Duchess been in her quarters? Should she no longer breathe, the mission would be for nought. Once a floor hatch, now a door. Once a door, now a floor. Her room was on the 4th level. They entered the 9th.” -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My initial attempt at bringing the resting tower to life ended in ruins. I made it too large, and I began running low on the necessary parts. About a month ago I made the decision to tear it all apart and start afresh. It was a hard decision after all the hours spent on construction, but it was worth it! I had just received a much needed bricklink order, so the timing was good. The smaller size was much easier to manage, and I had enough parts to spare for the large chunk of wall the tower fell through. I would have loved to spend more time on it, but I knew I could go on endlessly, so I made the call after about two months of part time building. The big challenge on the second go at building this MOC was fusing the odd sections together so it wouldn't fall apart every time I touched it. I purposely build this unit to be a lego Technic set with 4 functions _2 "Beam cannons" can be turn up down : _Switch forward the level and rotate the upper gear to control the 2 "Turret machine guns" on both side of the Fatum. The machine gun has 2 part, 1 main gun on top and 2 support guns which is my addition and can move independently. _Switch back the level and rotate the upper gear to control 2 wings. I did this because i think it'd be more interesting to control both wings at once. _Rotate the other gear to extend the Fatum so there will be more space for the mobile suit can stand on it which you can see below. This is how the Fatum be attached on Justice's back : How it stands on the Fatum : This is the other way to attach the Fatum-00 : My other addiction is the mode which i call "Full thrust mode" . 5. So Bionicle is, for the second time, going away to the Obsolete and Retired Products Graveyard, to be laid alongside Hero Factory, Ben 10, and Galidor, among others. It's very sad it was cancelled so early it it's re-birth, barely halfway through it's second year. To celebrate it's second life through Ekimu and the island of Okoto, I have created this MOD of set 71312. (My alternate motive was because all that trans-light blue doesn't strike my fancy) It features a golden hammer with darker accents, and golden armor with an companion shield. It is also missing the main part: the mask of Creation! Sadly, the mask is not in LDD, so I left it off. Here is it at Bricklink: http://www.bricklink...age?P=20477#T=C The back of Ekimu features a part of Tahu's golden armor from the final series of original Bionicle from 2010. The hammer is mostly taken from set 71312, while the shield is from both set 70795 and 71312. The missing mask is found once more! (It's actually already in my possession, so I only need to order 99.9% of the model to complete it.) LDD file: http://www.moc-pages...1469920961m.lxf ...and yes, this MOD is 100% build-able in real life. I checked.

  7. Presenting my LEGO Mighty Micro interpretation of the Ghostbusters (1984) Ecto-1! Ghostbusters, Ecto-1 (Mighty Micro) by Adeel Zubair This recreation of the Ecto-1 as a Mighty Micro was quite simple to design. It's ironic that the back of the model is the highlight of the whole model. I'm pretty sure you can guess what pieces were used at the front. NB - I didn't post a main photo of this MOC as it was a rather dull photograph, I attempted it several times and it just wasn't working. Thankfully the back came out perfectly! It's perspective and angle looks quite Chibi and comical with the right side wheels getting pressed into the ground as the Ecto-1 comes in to action! More Mighty Micros: www.flickr.com/photos/115928480@N03/sets/72157668082919843 Feedback and criticism is much appreciated. Adeel

  9. I started a small number of freelance commissions last year and I appreciate the idea and would like to pursue the concept further. It would improve my creativity, working in a constrained time frame, collaborating with others and building a portfolio of designs towards my main ambition of becoming a product designer. I'm currently struggling on what is a reasonable rate for each commission. I was thinking of 0.50p / 0.75p per LEGO element (postage NOT included in quoted price.) The price will cover the labour and time in designing the concept and service; additionally the cost of the LEGO elements themselves. NB: I'm not taking any commissions yet; these are just early concepts. My LEGO Creations: https://www.flickr.c...157645785522606 Insights and suggestions would be appreciated, Adeel

    A Royal Wedding Interrupted.

A Royal Wedding Interrupted. by Mark E., on Flickr The band of merry, mischievous foresters royally interrupt the wedding of King Bart the Odiferous. He had wrongfully tried to force the young fair maiden, Jane, into matrimony. Jane was the sweetheart of Will o' the Black, the fearsome leader of the foresters, and before the ceremony could be performed, the foresters had engulfed the chapel in riotous green-hued chaos. Pews are overturned in the ruckus! Jane, the bride-to-be, is delighted and relieved. No wedding (even a wrecked one!) is complete unless someone is swinging from the chandeliers. Although the damage was great, the beautiful stained-glass windows were unharmed in the sacrilegious escapade. 12. EDIT #2~ Here is my updated Challenge 1 entry! A Desert Butte on Guinevere. 20x20 studs, unedited and no figs. Not exactly superior to my larger scene/story below, but it's the best I could do in 30 minutes! Below is a freebuild based on my previous build, which would not qualify for the challenge (And I do not want to delete it!). Please do not consider it in judging. Begin A06 Freebuild- AG Challenge 1 by Mark E., on Flickr The pristine desert landscape of Guinevere. Only erosion and wind has disturbed these majestic canyons. Until now that is...... When we last left Mark of Orion, he had just jumped from a MANTIS™ dropship onto the surface of Guinevere. Upon contact, the MANTIS™ associates had divided into two teams, one led by Captain Brutus, and the other by Mark. Malcolm strode along with an air of pompous self-importance. "I don't understand why you went back to the ship once you heard we had to split up! What's the deal? Are you afraid of going off on your own?" Mark rolled his eyes. "I don't want to take the risk of walking blind. I had a near-death experience with a 20 foot alien on my last mission and I'm only alive now because a friend of mine was paying attention to the scanner. I'm not so stupid that I can't learn a lesson..." Malcolm grinned like a baked possum. "You were a space pirate or something weren't you?" Mark nodded and continued to scan the rock formations. "Yeah, something like that." Malcolm plodded along after Mark, now oblivious to his surroundings. "You must have not been a very good one if they caught you..." Mark's brow wrinkled. And it was only his solemn duty to MANTIS™ that prevented his teaching insolent Malcolm firsthand the hazardous effects of a certain MANTIS™ Death Ray Blaster© he had strapped to his back. "Avoiding the law is like a marathon, the run is long, but there is a definite end." Malcolm laughed. "Brain over brawn, dude! It's smarts that count in the corporate world." Mark sighed. This was going to be a tiresome mission. "A little physical competence never hurts. Speaking of which, are you covering those cliffs? My scanner reads no lifeforms but something or someone could be cloaked." Malcolm waved his hand as if shooing a fly away. "Relax, man, there's nothing out here! Brutus just likes some drama. There's absolutely nothing to worry abou...(GASP) LOOK OUT!!!!" Malcolm had glanced up at the cliff in question and was horrified by the sight of three armored Kawashita special forces agents! He quickly raised his hand phaser to fire at the enemy! But alas, he was too late! With a bright flash, a nano beam from the Kawashita special forces agent vaporized poor Malcolm on the spot! BRRZAAKKK!!! *Pooof* As soon as Mark heard the shot, he dropped his scanner, drew his MANTIS™ Death Ray Blaster©, and dove towards the canyon wall in one quick motion. He was none too soon! Another nano beam hit the spot Mark was standing milliseconds before! Mark snapped up against the rock wall, blaster ready, and listened for the enemy. He didn't get a chance to see where they were. It wasn't a minute before a taunting voice echoed across the valley. "Come out, come out, wherever you are! Mwahaha!" Another Kawashitan voice chimed in. "Don't worry, Zeloot. He won't get away. This is like shooting a fish in a barrel!" Mark began to analyze his situation as he noticed the small pile of ash where Malcolm stood a minute ago... With the help of a soaring pulse and a rush of adrenaline, a clever plan for survival sprung to mind. The ex-space pirate carefully drew out a small capsule that he had been keeping in his spacesuit. Mark mused to himself, they probably haven't seen this in Kawashita before... Without further thought, Mark threw the small cylinder up towards the jeering voices. The Kawashian special forces anticipated a conventional method of attack. "HAND GRENADE! QUICK, FIRE!" Before they could fire, however, the "hand grenade" let out a powerful electron pulse which promptly zapped the nano beam rifles of Mark's foes! ...Immediately rendering their weapon battery cells useless! Mark didn't wish to let his enemies recover from their shock, and so fired up his Awesomnium Powered Jetpack! Mark now glared eye to eye with the helpless Kawashita employees as he cocked his MANTIS™ Death Ray Blaster© four feet from their faces! "You were SAYING?!?!?!" To Be Continued! (Begin commentary) No hard feelings to my dark red friends! Clearly a truce is in your best interests since you are technologically inept in combat. Here are a few shots on a plain background for those who prefer them! Enjoy! The Dire Deserts of Death. by Mark E., on Flickr EDIT* I now realize I didn't read the rules. Shucks! Unless I can find time to fix this consider this a freebuild.

  17. Hey Guys welcome to my MOC of the Lord of the Skull Spiders in humanoid form during absorbing/fusioning with Pohatu. I love constracting my own canon with Bionicle and I love darker storylines, so here is what happened: When the Toa landed on Okoto, Onua just met Pohatu. They decided to search for the other Toa their Protectors have them told of. On their way they found the Lord of the Skull Spiders and his giant army. Seeing that he has no chance against these Toa, the Lord of Skull Spiders commanded his army to distract Onua and Pohatu, while he could do a ruse on Pohatu. He absorbed Pohatu and gained more power than ever before. Now he could beat Onua and bring him under his controll. It is the destiny of the four Toa left to liberate their Brothers and get rid of the Lord of Skull Spiders. This is my first MOC using CCBS since I stopped collecting BIONICLE in 2007. A wave of nostalgia lead me to buy the new 2015 Bionicle, so =D His Body is pretty simple built since it is Pohatus build. His golden armour is Onua's, I swapped the Onua's golden plates with silver ones because it looks better in my opinion. His extra arms came from the Protector of Fire and his weapons, well, just some old style Bionicle swords :D Will the other Toa defeat this powerful enemy and free their brothers?

    Fighter Jet

Hey, everyone! I have been meaning to getting around to build a fighter jet, but just never seemed to have the patience / know-how to do so. Well, I finally buckled down and built one. It has been a while since I last built an airplane, but I soon regained my familiarity with aircraft building. The scale I built this in is not a typical scale of craft that I usually build in. However, once I obtained the pilot LEGO figure, I knew I had to build some sort of plane for him . Perhaps the most challenging part of the model to build was the back wheel supports and the air intake assembly (or attaching the front nose cone without having the whole front fall apart) on the cockpit. More photos and higher resolution pics can be found here: https://www.flickr.c.../127983423@N07/ (P.S. Being my only second MOC post here, still not totally sure if this is the best spot to post this, but since I saw that it included military MOCs, I decided to give it a go; if it should be moved somewhere else, do feel free to tell me. Thanks. )

    The Siege of Alesia.

The Siege of Alesia by Mark of Falworth, on Flickr Based off of the painting "Vercingetorix Throws Down His Arms at the Feet of Julius Caesar" 1899, by Lionel Noel Royer The Siege of Alesia by Mark of Falworth, on Flickr One of my favorite wars of history was the Gallic Wars which were a series of military campaigns waged by the Roman proconsul Julius Caesar against several Gallic tribes. Rome's war against the Gallic tribes lasted from 58 BC to 50 BC and culminated in the decisive Battle of Alesia in 52 BC, in which a complete Roman victory resulted in the expansion of the Roman Republic over the whole of Gaul (mainly present day France and Belgium). The wars paved the way for Julius Caesar to become the sole ruler of the Roman Republic. Built for Major B's "Recreate History" contest. Enjoy!

Youtube channel: https://www.youtube....X_uErOTcGpZg8Ug MocPage: http://mocpages.com/home.php/52513. One of my new creations is the Ultra low cargo bed truck. I have not found this model in reality, so I built it. The complete review is on http://mocpages.com/moc.php/396635 and the video is below. Another creation is The Easiest Parking Car In The World: this is my own genuine idea, maybe some others have had the same idea right now... The review can be found on the given Mocpages address. You may always reply if you don't like it, my MOCs will probably get better of it.

    MOC: CCCXI A Man's Work

As the sun slowly climbed over the hazy horizon, a lone rooster let out a loud crow. The small, rustic town that lay beneath the great manor was alive with people, bustling to and fro. Small, ramshackle cottages were scattered around the outskirts of the village, and farmers and serfs came one by one from their doors, headed towards the fields. A smiling farmer grasped his pitchfork and small lantern as he pushed open the wooden door of his quaint, rural home. His young son scrambled out behind him, vigorously rubbing sleep out of his eyes. All the while he beamed brightly, excited to join his father for the first time working in the fields. Behind them, within their cottage, the female members of the family worked also. The boy’s mother grasped a stiff wooden broom, sweeping up pieces of thatch from the rough wooden floor. Meanwhile, a younger girl pulled a brewing pot from the fireplace and mixing it with a large spoon. The sun rose higher as the villagers went to work. This is my entry for the CCCXI on Classic Castle, A Child’s Life Category. It’s probably pretty obvious that the style of this build was greatly inspired by Derfel Cadarn and Legonardo Davidy. I've actually been wanting to build something like this for a long time, and I'll probably try it again in the future! Soli Deo Gloria!
