  1. When Edward Scarver first arrived on the island, after having set up a logging camp, he organised the construction of a sawmill. Wooden logs from the camp were quickly made into planks and large boards, which enable the rapid expanse of the small hamlet in the form of cabins and various wooden buildings. Today, despite having grown to a Large Town, the sawmill is still being used everyday, making it the first permanent building in Queenston. ---- Will be licenced as a medium factory for Queenston, officially making the settlement a Large Town I started this build right after I posted the logging camp almost a year ago, but then I lost motivation and forgot about it. Yesterday I decided to just finish the darn moc, so that I could take it apart and start on something new. Hopefully it will take me less than 9 months to finish the next project

  4. It was a busy Friday evening at the Queenston harbour, the settlement had received a constant flow of new settlers, eager to start a new life on the frontier, but coutious enough to wait for the settlement to grow a bit before settling there. The Dockmaster was busy directing the merchants and collecting their docking fees. Meanwhile, the mailman’s son, Jim Hawkins, was running around town delivering mail for his sick father. He arrived at the Dockmasters office with a letter from his cousin in Port Raleigh, but when Jimmy knocked at the door he heard a large thud coming from the narrow alley next of the house. He went to inspect the sound, but what he found was a rough, strange looking man holding a sack of coins. The boy stood silently and looked in the eyes of the man, who himself had froze upon discovering he had been caught. Jimmy’s eyes slowly looked to the left where he could see the broken window the man had come out of. Now having realised what he had witnessed, frozen in fear, he watched as the man took his finger in front of his mouth, signalling the boy to stay silent. In a sudden and explosive move Jimmy turned around and shouted towards the main street : “THIEF!! THIEF!!!Thi..” But before he could run away, he was silenced by a knife to the back. But the commotion had caught the attention of some sailors on the docks, and before the thief could get away, the men caught up to him and beat him bloody. People gathered around the boy and the doctor was called in a hurry, but the boy was already gone. A jury was assembled and a trial was held at the Town Hall the next day. It was revealed that the thief, Jules Moche, had been a recruit of la Légion Etrangère, but was dishonourably discharged for disobedience and cowardice in battle. The jury’s decision was quick and final, for an attempted robbery and the murderer of Jim Hawkins, the coward Jules Moche was to be executed… by Guillotine. The next day, a guillotine was constructed next to the town hall and will stay there as a reminder to what awaits murderers in Queenston. On Monday the 20th of March 623, the public execution of Jules Moche took place. The crowd cheered and shouted in anger as the prosecutor mercilessly flayed the criminal for his crimes… After the deed was done, the townsfolk decided to have a statue of Jimmy built in the town center, so that everyone would remember the first Hero of Queenston. ---- This moc will be licenced for Queenston by me, as a medium art and cultural build. I originally tried to build a gallows, but I wasn't happy with how it turned out. So just for fun I made a Guillotine, I was quite happy with the design so I decided to use that instead. After the amount of figures I copy and pasted for the camp scene, it was really fun to experiment with the exaggerated minfigure posing on this build. It was also quite fun making decals for the Arlintinian Guards that will be introduced in the near future, as the protectors of Queenston and the Island of Arlintina. Hope you enjoy

  6. Prior to launching their attack on the Lotii, the Corlander forces on El Oleonda had amassed near Seawatch. The army had traveled to the island from the Corlander settlement of Spudkirk. Nearly 500 men in strength, the forces were a sight to behold. Regiments of light and heavy infantry, mounted hussars and dragoons, artillery, and sappers came together under the leadership of Brigadier Allcock. Brigadier Allcock ( @Ayrlego ) was the overall commander of the forces, with support from Colonel Wolf ( @Brickwolf ), Major Brickford ( @LM71Blackbird ), Major Brickleton ( @evancelt ), and Lord Spud ( @Spud The Viking ). Once the siege on Seawatch had been lifted, the commanders set about erecting a secure camp for the forces. Positioned outside the walls of Seawatch proper, they had engineers and sappers construct a sturdy palisade wall around an area large enough for hundreds of tents. Large guard towers were placed near entrances. Liaison officers from Oleon, Eslandola, and Carno looked on the camp with envy - the amount of discipline shown by the Corlander forces was impressive. A good force to have as allies instead of enemies, to be sure. The 47th Regiment of Foot "Ryebourg" Light Infantry drummers have all traded their drumsticks for a musket... The only sound we have to offer the Lotus is the sound of a thousand bullets piercing through their ranks. The 26th of Foot "Hawarden Regiment" follow closely behind the 47th. A company of regular light infantry are staying behind to secure the camp while they wait for the Carnite forces to relieve them. ---- Started this build ceveral months ago as a collab with @lmcpicture, we had designed and built ceveral elements for the project, but life happened and we ended up forgetting the moc. 2 weeks ago I decided to build the moc, but I had to make it much smaller than we originally planned. I build all the landscape, placed all the buildings and minifigures. I used the wall, guard tower and tents (tents are available on rebrickable, I highly recommend you check them out) that lmcpictures designed. The cannons are modified versions of michaelozzie2 's design on instagram and the bulk of the story was written by Evancelt. Hope you enjoy! This will serve as my third entry to the redcoats rule task

They pass Cromwell Huckabee, who pushes against the horse's bum, sighing and puffing. But to no avail..." *Unintelligible chants by angry Sea Rats* "Sir Peter Nash comes alongside Fabio Montinelli with the finish line already in sight! Peter encouraged his horse again and with a last effort he squeezed out another powerful final sprint." *A frenzied crowd of Corrington supporters* "And after a spectacular race, Sir Peter Nash, on behalf of Corrington, is finally the first to cross the finish line! Followed by Fabio Montinelli (Eslandola) and shortly behind him, Fabrice Dubois (Oleon). 8. It had been a while since Peter Nash (architect) completed his last design assignment, the Rum Distillery in Jamestown. After completion of this factory, he said goodbye to Padre Azucar and made a journey through Myzectlan. Here he met the local population, the Myzec. Inspiring people with an even more fascinating culture! Peter also felt the need to design buildings again. So he traveled further to Elizabethville. The breeding ground of the best horses in the world. Horses were bred here for horse racing, among other things. Peter became acquainted with the local population and was soon asked if he wanted to design a horse breeding farm. And so it happened... 9. With the threat of war with the Lotii imminent, a detachment of Corlander Light Infantry from the 26th Foot were on patrol in the area surrounding Seawatch. The soldiers found traces of Lotii scouts of the Water Dragon Banner army in the dense jungle. After a long walk, deep into the jungle, the 26th Regiment of Foot indeed encountered a number of blue-jacketed Lotii warriors. Hidden in the thick undergrowth, they watched the warriors, alerting Major Sir Brickleton in the meantime. Brickleton immediately mobilized a number of light cavalrymen of the 18th Regiment of Hussars 'The Lightfoot' and rushed to the aid of the infantrymen deep in the jungle. Arriving there, they briefly consulted the infantry commander and it was decided they should attempt to eliminate the Lotii forces. Thus the attack was opened on the warriors, who fled into the dense jungle. The Corries pursued the scouts until they came to a fortified watchtower that loomed out of the mist next to a river. The Lotii outpost appeared to house a small training camp. Major Brickleton decided to seize the opportunity to level the outpost. The attack was opened and after a fierce battle the Lotii fled yet further into the jungle with their many wounded in search of a safer place. Following the Lotii retreat, Major Brickleton completed the destruction of the outpost by burning down the encampment. The battle was won, though Brickleton was concerned by the brazenness of the Lotii they had encountered. After this, the Corries went back to Seawatch, happy with this win. --- Will not be licensed. 10. As Queenston grew larger by the day, the need for certain materials were quickly becoming a problem. One of these materials was cotton, the settlement had welcomed a large amount of settlers these past months which led to a dire need for cotton with which to make cloth for clothes and sheets. Being the most isolated settlement of the Empire, the Mayor had to rely on long trade voyages for any material or product Queenston did not yet have the capabilities to produce itself. Thus the Fara and ETTC Muharib were sent in consort to Queenston, with their cargo holds filled with goods for the settlement. The Fara sailed all the way from Jameston, with supplies and large amounts of cotton and seeds, while the Muharib collected timber and wool from Wullhalm. The two ships met up in Spudkirk before setting off on their dangerous voyage to the Bastion of the East. The New Heaven Sea had been filled with privateers and raiders of the Lotus Empire, hungry wolves searching for riches and glory. As luck would have it, after a couple of days at sea, the small consort woke up to a large war Junk lurking on the horizon. Had they not been on such an important task for the Mayor, there is no doubt our men would have sailed right at the Junk with guns blazing and a sword in each hand. But the settlement could not afford to loose any of the cargo, so they kept course and sailed as fast as they could, while firing with everything they had at the Loti Junk. For each hour that passed, the large and heavy warship fell farther and farther behind, until it eventually cut the chase. The two brigs arrived safely and on schedule to a heart warming welcome at Queenstons docks, where Mayor Scarver offered them free food and rooms at the tavern. The Muharib ended up leaving shortly after with sugar from the settlements new Royal Plantation. But the crew of the Fara suffered some damage during the shootout with the Junk, so the ship stayed anchored in port while the wounded were treated. The crew of the Fara even received some new members, as a handful of ex-privateers joined their crew. These experienced sailors had been part of Edward Scarver’s crew before he became Mayor of the colony. They had stayed there for awhile and helped wherever they could, but their hearts yearned for the sea, so after a final feast with their old cremates and captain, they set sail with the Fara. As they sailed into the sunset, Amin Raza, one of the carpenters of Scarver’s old crew on the Andromache, climbed on to the ratlines and listened to how calm it was. Just a few months ago you couldn’t spend more than a few days at sea without crossing one or several Loti pirates. But now they had spent a week at sea, and they had seen… nothing… crossed no-one… During the time he had stayed in Queenston, the allied invasion of New Oleonda was in full swing. He deducted that they must have pulled away their forces back to the island, now that our foot soldiers are knocking at their door. Perhaps they reassembled their fleet, preparing for a counter attack, hoping to separate our army by hindering our fleets from supplying them. Perhaps they left, perhaps all the pirates and privateers scattered away in fear of fighting in a loosing war… ---- This is my first entry to the Merchant Marine task from the GoC. I originally built the ship months ago, for @Professor Thaum as the prize to his upcoming contest, but it was changed to a microlicence instead. So I reworked the the brig into the Fara, a merchant brig armed with 12 cannons and 4 swivel guns. To be licenced as a class 5 medium square rigged brig for the ETTC. PS: It was my first time using photoshop so please don't hesitate giving me advice if you have any!
  11. Life in the Myzectlan valley was pleasant. But the habitat was small. It was necessary to explore the jungle to discover new areas. The Myzec warriors explore the dense rainforest. 12. Name: Myzectlan Ownership: The Crown of Corrington (A semi-autonomous city of the Myzec) Location: The hidden valley of the Myzec, Cascadia, Paradise Isles Map: Mayor: Trade Value: See account spreadsheet Town Bank: See account spreadsheet Who can own property in Myzectlan: Anyone Who can freebuild in Myzectlan: Anyone Description: Myzectlan is an ancient city located in a hidden valley deep in the interior of Cascadia. Home to the Myzec people, legend has it the city was cut off from it's parent civilisation hundreds of years ago. Over time, the Myzec have lost the advanced building techniques of their fore-bearers and the city is now an eclectic mixture of the older style stone buildings and newer repairs in wood or mud bricks. The Myzec primarily farm maize, sweet potato and beans in 'floating island' plots or chinampas on Lake Myzec. The meat in their diet includes fish and water fowl and dugout canoes are used to transverse the lake. Very few mammals are farmed in the Myzec valley although there are some pigs and goats. They weave cloth from goat wool and produce leather from animal hides hunted outside the valley. A basket ball type game is a very popular recreational activity. The Myzec are a matriarchal society where most positions of authority are held by women. They are a well developed and organised society and practice a dualistic region where they strive to balance the eagle, which symbolises peace, wisdom and order; and the jaguar, which symbolises ferocity, war and chaos. 13. After the completion of his first design assignment (Queenston Primary School), Peter Nash (architect) was overwhelmed with congratulations and positive messages. "What a warm welcome to the New World!", he thought. At the opening party he got into a conversation with the mayor of Wullham, @evancelt. Mayor Major Sir Jonathan Brickleton invited him to come to Wullham. So he did... A few days later, Peter left for Wullham with an old friend, Doug MacIver ("He is a little bit weird, he is wearing a skirt..."] After arriving on the island, Peter was surprised by the landscape. It looked completely different here than in Queenston. The landscape was barren and rougher; it was hilly and there were many sheep. Above all, the temperature was a lot lower and the wind was blowing very hard. It reminded them of where Doug came from. A while later, while taking a walk on the island with Doug, Doug had a great idea. "This island is a great location to start a whiskey distillery!" he said. "Rum is sewage for pirates, people of our stature drink whisky!" Peter agreed and a few days later he started making the first sketches. He designed a main building (distillery) and a first storagehouse. The mayor checked the drawings carefully and approved the construction of the distillery. So construction could begin! 18. Some time ago, Peter Nash visited the Naval Intelligence Office in Port Woodhouse. Here he had a pleasant introduction to a number of fellow pioneers of the new world, for example @evancelt. When he wanted to leave Port Woodhouse he got the chance to sail with one of the Naval Intelligence Officers to Queenston. After a pleasant journey across the calm sea, Peter arrived in Queenston. He had already had two architectural assignments for the mayor @Justsomebrix of this city. But the mayor wanted to meet him again at the military docks. Here next to the supply depot (Peter's third building in Queenston) stood a white marble statue, gleaming in the sunlight. Peter looked at it, and thought... "that man looks familiar!" 19. A while back, Peter Nash (architect) met the wealthy farmer 'Padre Azúcar' (Sugar Cane Plantation, Queenston). After the completion of the new plantation in Queenston, he had planned to further expand his sugar empire to Mesabi Landing. He saw opportunities here to grow agave. Agave is an important raw material for tequilla. 'Padre Azúcar' was very charmed by the work of Peter Nash and invited him again to design his Mexican style farmhouse. The farmhouse consisted of a two-storey building, with two roof terraces. Both can be reached via an outside staircase. The top roof terrace gave an insane view over the sprawling agava plantation. Here, sheltered by the pergola, stood an office desk belonging to 'Padre Azúcar'. This has to be one of the nicest workplaces there is. Workers in the plantation walked in their typical white clothing with red scarves. It was hard work. While enjoying the music of the Mariachi band, Peter took another good glass of tequilla. 21. Sloops for the Royal Navy Citizens of Corrington, shipwrights of the Brick Seas, and boatyards of Terra Nova. The Royal Navy hereby initiates a building program for mid-sized warships to safeguard the shipping lanes of the colonies. This building program includes three types of vessels with each a different purpose, mainly within the classes 3 and 4. Class 3 vessels will be bought into the service for 50 dbs and class 4 vessels for 60 dbs. Island defenses The success of the Corlander gunboats have led the admiralty to propose larger vessels of similar types akin to the galleys of old. Oar and wind powered warships with heavy guns, typically carried fore and aft. Low range, high manoeuvrability and heavy firepower makes them perfect to complement the gunboats for inshore defences. Royal Customs and Pilot Corps With trade on the rise, the Royal Navy Customs and Pilots Corps is in need of swift vessels for conveyance of pilots and customs officers, and to hunt down smugglers and privateers. Highly manoeuvrable cutters, luggers and schooners with light armament and reasonable range. Sloops-of-War The Royal Terra Novan Navy is in need of mid-sized warships to cover escort duties, general patrolling and similar. Typically well-balanced vessels, often brig- or snow-rigged, and able to sail the high seas. Once a design has been submitted, the Navy Board will review it, and send any requests for change back to the constructor. (OOC: You may be asked to improve on your design to have it accepted, so it may be prudent to present the WIP before rigging.) For the first 9 vessels, the best design of every three vessels commissioned will be awarded with a prize from the stock of dry-docked captures. (Class 3 or 4 vessel) The Crown will assign these vessels to colonial enclaves as they are finalised, based on tactical needs. Signed Rear-Admiral Fletcher Commander, Royal Terra Novan Fleet PS. The Allcock estate has most graciously offered to finance this incentive, for which the crown is most grateful.
  22. At the opening party of the Primary School in Queenston, Peter Nash (architect) met a wealthy man. Among the locals he was known as 'Padre Azúcar'. This wealthy farmer owned several estates in the Queenston area. He wanted to expand his sugar cane plantation on a vacant lot. A beautiful hacienda had to be realized here. And so it happened... The hacienda consisted of two building parts, interconnected with a covered outdoor area with lovely yellow inner walls. From the gallery, all around, there was a beautiful view of the sunlit courtyard with the most exotic flowers. In the middle, on the Mediterranean tiled floor, was the center piece of the hacienda, the fountain (based on a design by @evancelt). Various arched passageways provided access to this Royal hacienda. The entrances were secured by Royal Guards (that belongs to royal builds... ) There were as many as 1,000 sugar cane plants outside the hacienda (displayed on this build). Although it was not easy to see due to the high crops, several workers were at work. Although... all of them... there was also one sleeping under the palm trees. Various carts drove back and forth with sugar cane. A flourishing trade in Queenston was a fact! --- Will be licensed by @Ayrlego to the Crown, after a 'financial contribution' for @Bricksbypidy. @Ayrlego, you take care of the paperwork? Completing GoC task 14.2 Bastion of the East with this build. 23. Jungle Shootout, Seawatch Following a successful meeting with General Alonzo of the Weelond 2nd Battalion, Major Brickford along with the small detachment of Marines from the 45th Regiment of Foot began to make the short trek back to Corrie Headquarters. At a bend in the road flanked by a short fence and dense brush, Major Brickford got the feeling of being watched. It was well known the Lotii are masters of stealth and were not pleased by the formation of joint forces of the Seawatch Campaign. Jungle Shootout 3 by LM71Blackbird, on Flickr Not moments later shots began to ring out from within the jungle. It seemed to be an evenly matched fight. Jungle Shootout 1 by LM71Blackbird, on Flickr Quickly dismounting his horse and sending it running towards the Corrie encampment, Major Brickford formed a defensive position with what cover was available and ordered his men to return fire on the Lotii Skirmishers barely visible through the brush. Jungle Shootout 2 by LM71Blackbird, on Flickr When shots were heard in the distance at Corrie HQ followed by Major Brickford's horse with no rider, a detachment of the 18th Hussars 'The Lightfoot' quickly mounted up and rushed to aid the pinned down Major and his men. Jungle Shootout 5 by LM71Blackbird, on Flickr Adept at riding in through the jungle terrain with speed after many months of patrols, the gallant hussars of the 18th charged through a gap in the brush with swords drawn. In the end one Lotii lay dead in the grass and the remaining skirmishers ran at the sight of 'The Lightfoot' charging in. --------------------------------------- A small firefight between the Corrington Marines and the Lotii. A build to depict some action in the war and to include some of my new parts from AE. Namely the Chinese and British minifigs as well as kneeling legs and Brickarms Perfect Caliber Muskets. C&C are welcome and appreciated and thanks for looking!
  24. In response to the war now declared with Oleon, the Corrington Admiralty has opened a primary Naval Intelligence Office in Port Woodhouse. Naval Intelligence officers are responsible for manning Corlander naval communication structures, inventing new means for inter-ship communication, developing written ciphers, and maintaining networks of undercover operatives. Their new presence in Port Woodhouse signals the focus given to technological advancement within the Corlander armed forces. The recent introduction of optical telegraph relay stations across the Brick Seas has greatly aided quick communication between ships and settlements. Lieutenant Keeling (right tower) is experimenting with a new flag-based semaphore method where individual flags represent letters. He signals down to the larger seaside mast-based semaphore tower and later will ride down to see how well the crew took down his message. Intelligence Captain Hunter meets with visiting Post-Captain Seward and explains the newest ciphers his crew will need to communicate written orders securely. ------------------------- @Ayrlego's Port Woodhouse builds are stunning and are what originally drew me to BotBs. I wanted to try one out! Making the tile pattern around the fountain was pretty fun. Submitted for license to Corrington as part of Glory of Corrington Task 11: Strategic Outposts
  25. The East Terran Trading Company has established a warehouse in the Corlander settlement of Black Beach on Gunpowder Island. The island is distinctive because it has a volcano in the interior, resulting in black sand beaches. Gunpowder Island is rumored to have rich veins of copper and abundant saltpeter, which provide ample reason for the ETTC to express interest. While the settlement is still fledgling, ETTC clearly sees the importance of the future resources to be extracted. The island is also rumored to be inhabited by hostile natives, so a complement of ETTC sepoys secure the facility. A soldier from the nearby Martello Tower brings a bag of outgoing mail to the warehouse, where it will ship out for Port Woodhouse. A friendly monkey helps stand guard.
