    [moc] stability is overrated

I've been building speeder bikes based on these trike bodies for a little while, and finally found some use for all the leftover front forks. Space unicycle because of course. That little red bit in back is supposed to be a jump jet, because the design is entirely too stable without it. There's also a Blacktron version. Slightly larger, blacker, more armed, it's all very exciting.

    [MOC] The Monolith of Mara

Humanity discovered the relics of alien civilisations long before it encountered other life-forms themselves. When deep-space survey ships like the LL919 left their local sector they found strange ruins and abandoned artefacts on distant worlds like Mara. The next time they launched, the survey ships carried teams of civilian xenoarchaeologists. It would be decades before they even began to understand the objects they had found; over a century before their researches pointed the way to true contact. The Monolith couldn't be scratched, even with tempered diamond-tipped tools. Although initial survey missions were usually carried out by a solo pilot, the LL919 could carry science teams or civilian researchers. It was pretty cramped in there for long flights. Flickr album

  5. Just a quick post to showcase a MOC I made earlier. The galactic adventurer, or galaxy explorer 2.0. It is based on the original classic space line from 1979, specifically the LL928 galaxy explorer. I wanted to have a beat up classic space ship that has seen a lot and is finally returning to the LEGO system to report it's finds. With minifigure brick built cockpit due to unavailability of trans-yellow windscreens. Some Greebles And an overview Hope you enjoyed Columbus

    [MOC] Vintage Space Memorial

In memory of the legendary achievements of the first Lego astronauts, Admiral Takayama from the Futuron-Starfleet has revealed a memorial plaque in the new space-flight museum. The plaque itself which was part of one of the first moon-bases and is - apart from some minor asteroid-impacts (actually Gerbil chewing marks!) in perfect condition for its age! The exhibit is called “A view back and a view forward” and features original artefacts, like the automatic short range sensor probe SRT-570 and a model of the legendary Type 928 Space Cruiser (which I took from the book Great Lego Sets: A visual History). The Admiral also took the occasion to also introduce the crew of the newly commissioned fast space-cruiser Andromeda, led by the legendary Captain McLane, who will soon depart for a deep space exploration mission. In her speech Admiral Takayama emphasised that it was always the spirit of the Futuron Federation to “explore new worlds and go boldly where no-one has been before”. More about the adventures of the Andromeda in the near future!

Classic space reboot-how to do it

With the arrival of a few classic space sets recently, I think a reboot may happen soon, so here is how it should be done. Factions: The Lego System Space Exploration group (LSSE) The M-TRON Corporation The SeaTron Corporation Blacktron LSSE Lsse are a company devoted to exploring the outermost reaches of space. They have three models of spaceship, the LL918, LL924 and LL928, they also utilize a variety of ground vehicles such as moon buggies and walkers like atats and also exo suits. http://bricksafe.com...jpg/800x450.jpg Their operatives either wear the standard classic space uniform or any of the classic space styled collectible lego minifigures uniforms. M-Tron M-Tron is a mining company which is extracting useful magnetanium ore from many planets and turning it into magnets to help the whole of space. It uses bulky transports with wheels to traverse a planetoid a great example is lego set number 6989. SeaTron Seatron is a mining company that believes that the best place to find strong metals is under the sea on earth and alien planets alike. They have submarines to mine and then ship ore to the surface with monorails. SeaTron often hires aliens who can breath underwater to get inside small caves etc.[/size] Blacktron Blacktron is a space pirate and gun-for-hire empire. They have small and fast ships that can intercept other ships as a swarm or ambush space-convoys by hiding behind asteroids. A blacktron operative A blacktron Heavy operative A blacktron alien operative They also use robots such as the lego minifigures one. Hope you liked it Columbus
  9. As im in the process of cleaning up all of MOC´s that i have staying around to prepare for finishing my Hanging gardens of Babylon, im kind of rushing through my shelves. So much have been staying around for so long with no progress going on. Also just to get a new start after my Dark age. Some are going straight to the trashbin, some i feel is ok to post. This was yet another that i felt was good enough to post, i would have done so much more to it. Change the clouds underneath, a lot of stuff i felt needed changed on the spaceship and the minifigs as well. However this along with so many others have been hanging around for over a year and i never got the inspiration to finish it. So just to get a fresh start being able to only focus on my Hanging gardens of Babylon, i just want to get rid of everything else. So this was wrapped up rather quickly as you will probably notice some holes and gaps around the build. However i felt it was fun enough to post. I will let the moderators decide wether its in the right forum as its sort of all over the place. All feedback is welcome as usual. KlodsBrik.

    Black Butterfly Wings

After seeing the Galaxy Patrol minifig, I just had to build my Classic Space fleet some soldiers. Space Marines! not sure what else to call them. Up to four so far, making for a small assault squad. There's a commander with gray accents, a pistol and lightsaber, two guys with I'm not sure what that weapon is, and a minigun-wielding guy with extra magazine on his back. Those little Bionicle wings fit surprisingly well. And make the figures easier to balance when holding heavy weapons. Speaking of heavy weapons, here's a closer look at their gear. There's also a fighter/gunship thing for providing close support. Here the squad is providing escort/honor guard for some speeder bike-riding VIP. resemblance to some other Space Marines is entirely coincidental, please Games Workshop don't sue me, I am very poor.

    [moc] The last peaceful explorer

In the beginning there was the C-26 light transport. Courier, utility shuttle, small explorer, whatever; this quick and agile ship made for a very common sight throughout the fleet. In standard configuration it could carry two people, or one and a standard 2x2x2 cargo crate, with quick and responsive controls and overpowered engines that made it a pilot's favourite - and, of course, prime candidate for strapping on guns when the evil aliens arrived on scene. Which resulted in the F-1 conversion fighter. This ubiquitous eyesore lacked standardization and died in droves, being a basic C-26 whose passenger seat was replaced with shield generator and targeting computer, and front made pointy with whatever weapons could be scrounged up on short notice. Various enhancements were tried, eventually coalescing into the vision of the Fleet's first dedicated starfighter. Enter the F-1a Barracuda, widely credited with fighting the filthy xenos to a standstill. This variant features a xeno-sourced cloaking device on the left of the cockpit (you can tell it's alien tech because it's got trans-neon green), advanced sensors and targeting, enhanced shielding and armor, improved weapons and engines, blah blah blah. Initial limited availability gave rise to the hunting pair, where we see a basic F-1 serving as bait while its enhanced brethren lay in wait, stealth fields engaged, to provide alien attackers with immediate negative reinforcement. Eventually, along came the F-2 Rifleman. Faster, stronger, named after a battlemech, it completely failed to eclipse its predecessor. The F-1a serves to this day with no retirement in sight, living proof of the timelessness of excellent design, its speed, agility and stealth making it an excellent patroller and vicious pack hunter. Aaaand thanks for reading I forgot what else I was going to blab about.

  14. Please check out my latest MOC! Do feel free to comment as this is my very first attempt to do a MOC based on the Lego Classic Space theme. The lego Exo suit reignited my interest for Lego Classic Space theme. This MOC is built on a modular concept for easy transport and display. The size is 4 x 32 studs wide baseplate. I have also added some 3rd party lite bricks for lighting effect. Enjoy the pictures:
  15. In this thread you will find my own Classic Space space vessels, exo-bases and ground vehicles. Cosmic Explorer Built in 2012-13 for the Classic Space Supreme Commander, Benny the 1980-something space guy. It came equipped with a pocket for Unikitty during the Battle for Octan Tower. After the battle, this pocket was removed. (Unikitty turned down Benny's offer for a commission to Classic Space command, and has set out as a director actor in Movies & TV. See her latest film, "Johnny Thunder & the Temple of Gloom" for more info.) The area was replaced with a canopy for the crew to see outside from their stations near the Imagination Reactor, while the sensor array was replaced by a four-barrel repeating laser turret. This ship in it's original form (plus it's pilot Benny and his freinds) are featured in The LEGO Movie. Here you can see the inside of the vessel. Their are three seats up front in the main cockpit, and four more seats in the rear compartment. You can also see the rear turret tuned and elevated. It's design was inspired by fighter and bomber airplanes of Earth history. The ship's stats: Ship Name: Cosmic Explorer Model: LL929 “Voyager” class Command Cruiser Manufacturer: Classic Space Shipyards Engines: 3 Mega Imagination Reactors Max Speed: 5,100 MPH Weapons: 4 forward-fixed laser hi-pulse guns & 4 turret-based laser hi-pulse guns Max Hyper Speed: 80% speed of light LDD file for Benny's ssS: http://www.moc-pages...1452610235m.lxf Deep Space Fighters These ships are deep space fighters of the Galaxy-class. Each seat one figure and have enhanced hyper-drive making it nearly as fast as LL-929. (Benny's spaceship) This ship was designed to be a heavily-armed fighter, and features an enclosed cockpit allowing for long distance travel such as from system to system if in an emergency. Here is the cockpit, which can seat 1 pilot figure. The ships' stats are identical for both vessels: Owner: Classic Space Command Model: “Galaxy” class deep space fighter Manufacturer: Classic Space Shipyards Engines: 2 Imagination Reactors Max Speed: 3,100 MPH Weapons: 4 forward-fixed laser hi-pulse guns Max Hyper Speed: 50% speed of light LDD file for the fighter: http://www.mocpages....1415380096m.lxf Benny's Classic Space automobile This car was originally built by Benny to be used to shuttle himself to his work at Classic Space Command HQ and secret master builder meetings, and eventually to his SPACESHIP(!)'s hanger after the end of Octan Corporation hostilities. The ship was not featured in the film made about those events, but nonetheless was seen in the studio parking lot as Benny drove it to play himself in the movie. It currently is stationed on the planet Zonia, where Benny (along with all the other Classic Spacemen) lives. The inside of the car features two seats, opening doors, and steering wheel, among other devices / abilities. The rear of the car features the Classic space logo, identity plates, and double taillights. Statistics for the car: Owner: Benny the 1980-something space guy Model: “Meteor” class vehicle Year built: 1978 Manufacturer: Classic Space Motors Power-plant: V6 Imagination-fueled engine Max Speed: 80 MPH Classic Space security forces' Exo-Terrain Vhicle (ETV) This model was heavily inspired by set 75916: Dilophosaurus Ambush from the Jurassic World sets. I have turned it into a Classic Space vehicle by subtracting most of the features and adding the CS logo to this piece on the hood: http://www.bricklink...sp?P=30363pb021 and a space seat for the driver. The rear of the model features a removable spare tire. I plan on getting two of these jeeps for the space base. Statistics for the jeep: Owner: Classic Space Command Model: “Exo -Terrain Vehicle (ETV) class vehicle Year built: 1988 Manufacturer: Classic Space Motors Power-plant: V8 Imagination-fueled engine Max Speed: 95 MPH LDD file for the jeep: http://www.mocpages....1444615201m.lxf Classic Space ground command / flight control center I was originally inspired by the 2010 CITY set number 3182 (Airport) to make this improved control tower for my Classic Space base MOC. It is supposed to feature Classic Space printing on the blue 4 x 2 slopes, like this: http://www.bricklink...sp?P=30363pb021 The front of the building also features a Classic Space statue, which can either use a Regular white astronaut torso, or the statue torso from Space Police III line. Here you can see the inside of the model, with the second floor and roof being removable from the first floor. On the ground floor is Command and Control, also known as C&C. This is where the ground forces are dispatched and fighter squadrons are launched. It is also where communications are tracked, recorded and, if necessary, relayed to other bases / space vessels / commanders. The second floor is where Benny the 1980-something space guy's office is. it features a desk with telephone and lamp, a bed for those long nights working on battle plans / spaceship designs, and a model space base for when he needs to get away from it all. (the back of the model has blank walls, no details , and as such is not shown) LDD file for the command center model: http://www.moc-pages...1453820529m.lxf Comments, questions, and complaints welcome!

    [moc] Boats suck. Spaceships RULE.

...and if you disagree, then let me know, what's it like to be so wrong? Does it hurt? Anyway, I bought set 60085, and I'm not sure why. Eventually I rebuilt it into something else. In my mind City and Space were always part of the same theme, coterminous, and if I ever become rich I'm going to build a city to reflect this - futuristic buildings and cars with a decent spaceport, none of Lego's current space shuttle stuff. Anyway, here's something along those lines, a truck transporting a little spacecraft. Trailer has legs for parking, can also fit one of my standardized space cargo containers, and the little shuttle seats two. Then I had to think of something to do with that huge dumb boat hull, so..it's a spaceship of some alternate space faction. Yes, that's it. These guys like orange and gray for some reason. I need more orange parts, it never ends...
  18. (I'm not sure where to put this model, as it's town, but based off a licensed set in a classic space color scheme!) This classic car was inspired by my previous car for Benny the 1980-something space guy, and partially by set 21108. (that's the Ghostbuster's Ecto 1) With the Ecto 1, I removed the front hood, shortened the car's length and width to make it about the same size my usual CITY-scale vehicles at a acceptable 24 studs long and 6 studs wide. I then added the front hood and grille work which was originally inspired by set 4728 (Escape from Privet Drive). The rear of the car features twin exhaust pipes, and a license plate that in all likelihood is a vanity plate saying "BENY84". (as 1984's the year our favorite blue Classic Space astronaut was introduced) (picture from Bricklink) Also, the 4x2 slope should feature the print above (link to Bricklink: http://alpha.brickli...63pb021#T=C&C=7 ) Anyway, the car looks like it could fit a figure, but it can't as of right now... It probably could work but would require substantial body work MODs that I frankly don't want to do right now. (sorry!) The car will be built by summer, and will replace the car seen in the above picture. LDD file: http://www.moc-pages...1452458064m.lxf

    B-Tron Research Base

Hello Eurobricks Sci-Fi community, i want to share my latest space creation with you. This creation was something completely new for me as I have never built someting in Micro Scale before and for my first try I am quite pleased with the outcome of this creation. I hope you like it too. This MOC is inspired by the "Ice Planet 2002" and "Blacktron Future Generation" themes from the early 1990s. I first started with building the micro spaceships as an entry for my LUGs christmas raffle/advent calendar, I liked them so much that I decided to build a MOC for them. I also showed this MOC at a LEGO exhibition in Austria last weekend next to the very inspiring Ice Planet 2002 - Battle Tank from my fellow LUG member markus19840420. Blacktron Research Base on Krysto by Jonas Obermaier, auf Flickr More pictures on flickr and Imperium der Steine. I hope you like it! Jonas
  20. I picked up a pair of these weird aquazone pieces from bricklink on a whim, and for a long time couldn't figure out what to do with them. Eventually figured out how to give them just-articulated-enough arms, and here we are. Classic Space with guns, lots of guns! I've been building on a CS theme with fleshy heads and lots of yellow, a grimdark alternate universe where evil aliens were met, there's a galactic space war, and nobody got around to inventing blue. Dark blue, medium azure, maersk blue, medium blue, light blue, and Lego's other 25,917,812 shades of blue are allowed however. Here's a starfighter. Did somebody say something about Anakin's interceptor, set 75038? I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF SUCH A THING IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. Moving right along This one actually is original, I liked it so much I built a model stand. I'll keep it around for a while. It's supposed to be some kind of multirole fighter, designed to function in alien atmospheres or vacuum. And I named it the Ash Wasp because ...I have no idea I'm not good with naming things. Those guns are absolutely necessary for proper swooshing balance!

[moc] (set 6883) 8x8 space truck

6883 was my second Lego set, here's a brickset link for anyone curious, and I remember really hating it. Which was okay; it was my first 'picking this just for the parts' choice. Recently I felt like revisiting the idea, just making a big eight-wheeled articulated cargo vehicle, so here it is. It started with that big hinge assembly, I had it laying around for a few weeks before I figured out what to do with it. Suspension was next, lots of articulation for rock crawling. There's a little drone for scouting the terrain ahead, some accessories for the pilot, and the back section is mostly a big cargo container. This one holds a little quad vehicle and the white satellite thing from the original 1987 set.
  22. Sorry, that was a long and odd title, I couldn't think of anything really catchy. Also, I put this in town forum because it involves land-based town vehicles with some sci-fi features thrown in for good measure. (I hope this is okay, but you mods can move it if you want!) Also, I will update this thread when need be to prove these have been built in real life and are not just digital models. Classic Space car (Benny the Blue astronaut) This is Benny the 1980-something space guy's car while on Earth. It was used to travel to the movie studio when making the LEGO Movie, and is now normally parked at Benny's summer home in Bricksburg. The model features a row of space-ship styled seats and "double" tail lights. (I used a trans-red grille to create a nice effect.) the white tile above the rear bumper is supposed to be Benny's license plate. This part goes on the sloped rear of the car: http://www.bricklink...sp?P=30363pb021 Here is the car in real life. LDD file: http://www.mocpages....1434990478m.lxf Neo-Nexus Force automobile (Bob from LEGO Universe) Here we see Bob's car for use on Earth. Bob uses the car to travel from his Military Surplus shop in Ironwood to a classified location where he then moves on to his base, Ice Station Destiny, which is located in Polaris star system. This car can seat one figure and is supposed to have this print on the 2x2 slope situated on the trunk: http://www.bricklink...sp?P=15068pb004 Bob's car can also fly using the same basic STARK hover technology as Nick Fury's S.H.I.E.L.D. car does. (Bob is a good friend of Tony Stark and is also on good terms with Bruce Wayne, as he tests out their new tech for both of them) (real world picture goes here when I build this model) LDD file for the car: http://www.mocpages....1437422963m.lxf Treasure Raider (Johnny Thunder) This is Johnny Thunder's car, and has been used from the Great Pyramids of Egypt to the Great Wall of China, to the depths of the Amazon jungles of Peru and even to places not listed on any map where dinosaurs still roam the Earth. The car features seating for two an full-size spare tire (perfect for those times when you jump over a cliff and cause a dented wheel hub while trying to make your getaway from the approaching enemy forces) Here is the real model of the car. LDD file: http://www.mocpages....1404178315m.lxf Evil Intentions (Lord Sam Sinister) Here we see the car of Lord Sam Sinister which may or may not have been involved in stealing artifacts and treasures the world over, and was definitely not involved in the botched attempt to ransom the Great Sphinx of Giza's nose. It also was never anywhere close to being hauled onto a battle-cruiser named the HMS Vladeck, which by the way, is not from the country of Ogel. It most certainly was never photographed headed to Antarctica, where it won't locate the lost City of the Ancients. (also known as Atlantis) The car can seat two people, and is supposed to have this license plate where the white 1x2 tile is: http://www.bricklink....asp?P=3069bpa1 Here is the photograph I wasn't talking about before. The LDD file is available here: http://www.mocpages....1436387276m.lxf This concludes the post for now... more vehicles may come eventually.
