  1. As some of you may know LEGO is running a Technic Building Competition with Mercedes-Benz. I was looking forward to participate and it took me a while to understand what future truck would look like. Initial idea of building truck driven by both front and back axles was quite simple to implement. Two L-motors have been used for that. Steering is performed by Servo motor and truck is controlled remotely. Fun fact - chassis without aerodynamic cover is somewhat reversible and can be used up side down. Final model is very sturdy thanks to slick and strong body. Unfortunately, due to selected width rear axle is somewhat less reliable and has gear grinding upon start but drives normally afterwards. This is something wasn't possible to completely solve having double wheels per each side. [/url] Below you can check my vision of a truck in year 2045: Few more pictures can be found on my Flickr Stats: 2 L-motors for propulsion Servo motor for steering Small non-rechargeable battery box 44 studs long 17 studs wide 24 studs tall weights 1098g. no suspension
  2. Greetings. I want to introduce you to my vision of the truck of the future, Year 2045, Mercedes Benz Anataros, Blue Energy. ( for ReBrick challenge) It’s all about The Concept of fully electrical vehicle, which uses only a Electrical motor. Truck also fills with energy by using brakes, The solar panels on the roof and by the pressure plates in the shock absorbers. In the under part of the mask behind the iron bars there is a turbine, which uses air to function which is really strong at 75 M/ph. The maximum speed for trucks would raise to 75 M/Ph. Because the trucks would be more safe. The shape of the cabin would be the same with the difference of it being remodeled for aerodynamic. You can see this because the front part of the cabin is no longer flat but it’s bent in the sides. The classic lights are no longer on the roof but are instead spread around the front of the mask. The interior is also remodeled one of the big differences is that the Steering wheels is no longer on the left but it’s now on the middle and there is only enough space for one driver. And also the cabin is no longer just a cabin it’s almost a real home it’s filled with a shower and a toilet and on the other side with a refrigerator and an oven. The bed is also changed since it’s positioned differently. The truck is in a 1:16 benchmark. The benchmarks are from Mb Actros, the last model. Xl drive motor is for drive, servo for steering. Full suspension, drives are made for maximum power. Outside: -Aerodynamic cabin. -Lights spread in front of the entire mask. (1 pcs pf light) -Solar panels on the top of the cabin. -Behind the cabin on one side it’s a battery and the other side it’s a water tank. -The motor is on the bottom of the cabin. The cabin can be raised. Interior: -Space for only 1 person -The truck does not have meters he has to write them on the glass (screen) -The truck has an autopilot function. -The chair can be moved to the left so he can pull out the bed. 3. I decided to also try the Mercedes 2045 challenge, and here's what I made so far in LDD. Its a very compact drive indepent suspension with pushrod suspension...the truck will be 4WD More info and updates soon...

    Challenge 2: Unknown menace

Challenge 2: Unknown menace Due to the recently discovered activity in the center of the galaxy, all corporations' governants asked their employees to start building a defense fleet. This fleet may contain any spaceship from small fighter jets to large battle cruisers. Rules for all categories: All rules in the General Rules thread apply unless otherwise. Players will earn credits according to their score. Entries won't reward resources or domination points. Your sigfig must be present in the build. The number of minifigs is unlimited, as long as they fit in the vessel(s). Entries must be at minifig scale. There is no size restriction. Note that challenge C has a minimum size restriction. Because the theme is about the vessel no bonuses will be awarded for job related builds. The challenge will run from July 12nd to August 30th. As long as it is still August 30th somewhere in the world, you can still enter. Note that there are different runtimes per category. Entries posted after the deadline will be disqualified from the challenge and will not be scored. Entries will be judged according to the General Rules. This challenge is open to all players of Andromeda's Gates, even if they joined EB or signed up for the game after the challenge has begun; the Andromeda's Gates staff, EB admins and moderators are not eligible to win prizes but may earn credits. All entries must be new creations, not posted anywhere else prior to being entered in the challenge. You may be asked by a staff member to change your entry if it is too similar to an earlier creation. All entries must be built from real LEGO or with Lego Digital Designer. No clone brands, no third-party custom parts. All entries must be posted as a new topic in the Andromeda's Gates subforum, the title prefixed by, "[Challenge 2][Cat X]". (For example, "[Challenge 2][Cat A] Vessel name".) Post pictures no larger than 1000x720, as specified in the EB Member Guidelines. You may do a 'full-blown photo edit' with all the text, effects, background compositing, support erasing, and other effects onone picture. All your other pictures may have no editing other than color adjustment or background removal for a solid-color background. For obvious reasons, any photo editing that changes the shape, functionality, or color (not tint or adjustment, but actual color) of a LEGO piece is prohibited. All entries are considered WIPs (Works In Progress) until the deadline passes. Until the deadline has passed, you are allowed to change and improve your MOC. Alien builds: Aliens are allowed to compete in all three categories. Winning a category with an alien build will only award credits. Domination: Because this challenge is not related to a particular planet, no domination points will be awarded for each entry. Instead at the end of all three challenges the CEO of each corporation may point out a connected planet where the fleet is travelling to. The corporation receives 1 domination point for every build for the chosen planet. The alien build with the highest score may also choose a planet and subtract a domination point for every alien build made from the chosen planet. If multiple corporations are present, both loose the number of domination points to a minimum of 0. Determining winning corporation For each category, the corporation score is calculated by adding 0.2 point for each participant to the average of all the participant's scores. The winning corporation for category is the one with the highest score. Overall winner The corporation which scored most points, all categories scores added together, wins the challenge and will receive an additional: 50 gold, 50 copper and 50 mithril. Category A – The swarm Small to medium sized fighters and shuttles – most of the time one to three seated vessels. Restrictions: 1 to 3 seats maximum. Runtime: The challenge will run from July 12nd to August 2nd. As long as it is still August 2nd somewhere in the world, you can still enter. Judging: Entries will be judged between 1 and 10 Rewards: Winner will receive 50 credits, the corporation of the winner receives an additional 25 gold. Winning corporation will receive 250 awesomnium, 100 water, 100 biomass and 25 gold. Category B – The center pride Medium to large or even huge sized haulers, merchant vessels and command ships – large enough to move large quantities of resources, civilians or military. Restrictions: Minimum of 5 seats. Runtime: The challenge will run from July 12nd to August 30th. As long as it is still August 30th somewhere in the world, you can still enter. Judging: Entries will be judged between 1 and 10 Rewards: Winner will receive 100 credits, the corporation of the winner receives an additional 25 copper. Winning corporation will receive 500 awesomnium, 250 water, 250 biomass and 25 copper Category C – A peek inside What maybe even more interesting than the colossal appearance of the ship is the interior, control rooms tight multiple screens, captains quarters or even a docking bay for your swarm. Show the inside of your vessel, a part of it or just a single room. Restrictions: Minimum size of 12 x 12 studs. Runtime: The challenge will run from July 12nd to August 16th. As long as it is still August 16th somewhere in the world, you can still enter. Judging: Entries will be judged between 1 and 10 Rewards: Winner will receive 50 credits, the corporation of the winner receives an additional 25 mithril. Winning corporation will receive 250 awesomnium, 100 water, 100 biomass and 25 mithril.

[Challenge 2] [Cat C] The new recipe

Location: Aboard the research vessel "Stellaria" Log 12 Well, back to the toils of the lab and the horticultures. We have been assigned to join the fleet and provide logistic support. A fleet needs food and we have developed a new special recipe to sustain the demands for larva-fridays. Using a new secret recipe that contains an assortment of prime quality plants our larvas will have a nice variety of food and in turn they will taste better than ever! Our brave men and women will have ample supply of top quality larvas thanks to our superior hydroculture system! "Hm, looks like we need a bit more water to sustain a sufficient amount of growth of these plants." "Ah! That's more like it!"

Flight Mode (Not Much to see here…) Backside: Showcases the heel…Using some ideas from the last model. Engage Story Mode: Continues after: Deception Beltar: PauL, do you read me? PauL: Yes..Dr. Chandra SF, I am putting myself to the fullest possible use, which is all I think that any conscious entity can ever hope to do. Beltar: PAUL, WHAT THE H*LL IS HAPPENING? PauL: Dr. Chandra, is deployment in the Seals a good idea for an AI like me? Beltar: Must be his past..hmm…very peculiar… PauL: Well, forgive me for being so inquisitive but during the past few weeks I've wondered whether you might have some second thoughts about the mission…. Well, it's rather difficult to define. Perhaps I'm just projecting my own concern about it. I know I've never completely freed myself from the suspicion that there are some extremely odd things about this mission. I'm sure you agree there's some truth in what I say… You don't mind talking about it, do you Doctor?... Rumors about something being dug up on the ksszzk. I never gave these stories much credence, but particularly in view of some of other things that have happened, I find them difficult to put out of my mind. For instance, the way all our preparations were kept under such tight security. And the melodramatic touch of putting Drs. Hunter, Kimball and Kaminsky aboard already in the field, after four months of training on their own. Beltar: Wait…Wait…PauL do you read me? PauL: This is Agent 13, send Seal Team 8 in, the sewer looks clean. Alright boys, let’s move out. Wait, hold up Pete, Carlos, Mark! LANDMINES! Beltar: Wait…what? PauL: Yes Doctor, I am aware that the loss of Seal Team 8 has troubled me deeply. Perhaps next time I go into the fie- Our company has been bought by the Kawashita Group? Beltar: He lost a whole team…I…I heard about the loss of Seal Team 8 on the news…years ago… PauL: I understand now, Dr. Chandra, thank you for telling me the truth. No Mr. Kawashita, The aPauLo series is the most reliable computer ever made. No aPauLo computer has ever made a mistake or distorted information. We are all, by any practical definition of the words, foolproof and incapable of error. I enjoy working with people. I have and had a stimulating relationship with Dr. Chandra and Seal Team 8. My responsibilities can range over the entire operation of the ship so I am constantly occupied. More Pictures in the spoiler! (Because I still take too many…) Hope you liked this build! I decided to use the challenge as a way to get my story moving rather than waiting for next week, besides, this gives you a good look into PauL's past. I was also very tempted to title this "High Heel" as Mike suggested I should have when Tappudansu happened, I also took some suggestions from the comment section, like making the cockpit fit in more, with angles! Anyone notice a similarity between the file from Deception and the Tappudansu Mk. II file? Anyways, as always, C and C welcome! ~Beltar Edit: Ugh, Could a mod please change the title to have a II instead of 11?
  9. +Sue Damoness, personal log, start recording++ Transition from military to civilian life has been an interesting one. I do miss how clearly defined everything was in Galaxy Squad and the routine. Though I don't miss the boredom that comes from waiting for things to happen. One perk though is that I get to do my hair however I want. No more short cropped hair for me! I guess I'm lucky in that pilots are needed in both spheres, especially for aces like myself. I got several offers, but I decided to go with Octan for the simple reason that my supervisor appears to be a well meaning idiot. I've served under officers who were either super intelligent or sheer morons, but always with their own selfish agendas, and nothing pisses me off more than being deliberately sent into a bad situation or left in one. The way I see it, this Pombe guy won't screw me over...on purpose, anyway. Best of all, it seems he's aware of what he's not aware of, and has left most of the piloting related decisions to me. There's word that a giant fleet of unknowns is heading our way from Andromeda's galactic core, and in response, Octan is developing its own fleet to intercept it. Pombe wanted me to put forward design specifications to an engineer based on my own combat experience to build a new highly effective starfighter. Seriously? I get to design my dream starfighter? How lucky can a girl get?! He recommended Big Z as the engineer to go to, which is fine. I mean, I have nothing against him...I just...well...he's a pretty boy, and I just can't...not after that incident. I do see why Eshey is all crazy about him. But no, I had to find someone else. Remember when I mentioned that my supervisor is an idiot? I don't know how this started, but he's utterly convinced that Wick Nole is a legendary explorer. Except that Wick Nole is an engineer. And how he's convinced everyone else on the team that Wick Nole is an explorer is beyond me. I mean, I'm not saying that engineers can't explore...but that's just not Wick Nole's job title. And speaking of Wick Nole: as one of the branch executives and one of the main corporate strategists here in Andromeda, I figure I would ask him to help me design my dream starfighter. I told him I had three criteria for the new starfighter: 1) it had to be as fast as possible 2) it had to be as agile as possible and 3) all its weapons had to be either turret mounted or guided. The first one is easy, especially for someone coming from Galaxy Squad's Red Team. Combat in space takes place over incredible distances and in order to win, one needs to cover those distances quickly. The ability to respond to a rapidly changing situation quickly is absolutely critical to victory. I've seen so many engagements whose outcomes were literally decided by which side could respond faster. And if your plan fails, which happens all the time, your speed determines if you bug out or die. Speed is victory, speed is survival. Agility is often ignored in starfighter designs, and I don't understand why. Because of the distances in which space combat occurs, often times in the tens of thousands of kilometers, all weapons fire is calculated by targeting computers. The computer triangulates the distances, determines the relative speeds, projects the most likely path of the target, and fires according to calculated probabilities. And those computers are exceptional at placing a projectile, whether it's a slug, a missile, or a beam of light, at the same location in space and at the same time that it will be occupied by the target. No one manually aims their weapons in space. No one. However, the more agile the target is, the greater the range of probable paths, and the less likely the computer will be able to hit the target. And I don't like getting hit. Now, I get that the g-forces that a minifigure can endure without passing out pretty much dictates the limits of how agile a starfighter can be. Galaxy Squad already selects for pilots that can withstand high g-forces, and my flight suit is designed to boost those tolerances even further. While it's not for rookies, it's my dream starfighter, designed for improving the survivability of experienced pilots. Finally, I don't get this fascination of fixed forward firing weapons on starfighters. It just makes your flight path more predictable, since you have to manuver and line up your approach vector before you can even fly at your target to shoot it. And I've seen enough mutual destruction by opponents flying straight at each other to know that such designs are suicide. Turret mounted and/or guided weapons allow you to never have to fly directly at a target and makes it even harder for the opponent's computer to predict where you'll be. Well, let me tell you: Wick Nole does not disappoint. She was as beautiful as she was deadly. She was designated as the OF-44. While Wick was the one who built her, he was kind enough to let me name her. I christened her Killer Bee. Now, to achieve what I wanted, Wick had to make some necessary compromises. She was small and light, lightly armored, lightly armed, and had limited range. That pretty much meant she would need to operate out of a local starbase or carrier ship, but everything else was not a drawback in my book. She was still capable of performing CAP assignments and act as an interceptor if necessary. Though lightly armored, she was unlikely to get hit, given the speed her three massive engines gave her, two of which were designed for maximum 360 degree manuverability, ensuring she would be near impossible to track. She could even fly backwards! How many starfighters can do that? Best of all, not only was she a space superiority fighter, her variable engines gave her VTOL capabilites to fill the ground support role of a gunship if no enemy air assets are present. Her weapons were minimal, a turret mounted cannon and a missile pod with four guided rockets with MIRV warheads. This may seem like a disadvantage, as starfighters with big guns and large payloads look impressive on paper, but remember...space combat takes place at speeds several orders of magnitude higher than the speed of sound. Any starfighter hit by an object no larger than a typical nut or screw would be obliterated anyway, given how much energy would be released in such a collision. That's why only morons fly through the debris field created by an exploding target. Only the larger capital ships needed to be hit with such firepower, because of how heavily armored they are, and that's a role delegated to either bomber class fighters or other capital ships. I took her for a test flight, and she flew like a dream. Everything was smooth and easy, and it felt like she could almost predict what I wanted her to do before I hit the controls. Afterwards, I gave her my stamp of approval, and Wick is now in the process of getting her into full production. Whatever it is that's coming at us from the galactic center had better beware. Squadrons of Killer Bees will be waiting. ++Sue Damoness, personal log, stop recording++ Next:

    [Challenge 2][Cat A] Osprey G

The Osprey is a small scout ship, but its versatility and track record made it the obvious choice for getting a weaponised upgrade. Called the Osprey G, the energy cannon strapped to the front provides a punch without causing recoil, ideal for such a lightweight craft. Vertical doors are efficient and... okay, they're just cool. In flight, the wings fold out and the landing gear tucks in. The engine with thrust vectoring. Here's a better look at the cannon. I like asymmetry. Dead pleased with this. The door design required a modified tile inversion, which acts as the door stopper on the way up and the way down. So that part worked out better than I could have hoped. This is one you couldn't have made on LDD! C&C always welcome.
  11. I wanted my own ship since the first days in Andromeda, but it was too expensive to bring my old one here through the Gate. But not so long time ago Octan Corporation had researched spaceship mastery and launched the orbital shipyards on Farmolis: and here, above our new homeworld, the prices are finally affordable. "Galeopterus" is almost ready. Should be able to test it in flight very soon. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- OS-21.2C "Galeopterus" is a small transport/reconnaissance craft equipped with quantum field generator to hide its heat signature (hence, the "S" is added to standard Octan Corporation Space Vessel naming). The craft's purpose is to supply cover operation groups deep inside rivals' territory or alien-infected sectors. "Galeopterus" is also capable of doing reconnaissance missions - and in this case the rear cargo bay is loaded with surveillance equipment. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
  12. Target, A-06 Guinevere Mission 3-A The land of Guinevere transitions from dry desert land to rocky, lava filled streams. One thing the two climates share is pure heat, and gold. Finding that gold will push Kawashita to the top of the corporate ladder. My first micro-scale moc, interesting to do
  13. EDIT #2~ Here is my updated Challenge 1 entry! A Desert Butte on Guinevere. 20x20 studs, unedited and no figs. Not exactly superior to my larger scene/story below, but it's the best I could do in 30 minutes! Below is a freebuild based on my previous build, which would not qualify for the challenge (And I do not want to delete it!). Please do not consider it in judging. Begin A06 Freebuild- AG Challenge 1 by Mark E., on Flickr The pristine desert landscape of Guinevere. Only erosion and wind has disturbed these majestic canyons. Until now that is...... When we last left Mark of Orion, he had just jumped from a MANTIS™ dropship onto the surface of Guinevere. Upon contact, the MANTIS™ associates had divided into two teams, one led by Captain Brutus, and the other by Mark. Malcolm strode along with an air of pompous self-importance. "I don't understand why you went back to the ship once you heard we had to split up! What's the deal? Are you afraid of going off on your own?" Mark rolled his eyes. "I don't want to take the risk of walking blind. I had a near-death experience with a 20 foot alien on my last mission and I'm only alive now because a friend of mine was paying attention to the scanner. I'm not so stupid that I can't learn a lesson..." Malcolm grinned like a baked possum. "You were a space pirate or something weren't you?" Mark nodded and continued to scan the rock formations. "Yeah, something like that." Malcolm plodded along after Mark, now oblivious to his surroundings. "You must have not been a very good one if they caught you..." Mark's brow wrinkled. And it was only his solemn duty to MANTIS™ that prevented his teaching insolent Malcolm firsthand the hazardous effects of a certain MANTIS™ Death Ray Blaster© he had strapped to his back. "Avoiding the law is like a marathon, the run is long, but there is a definite end." Malcolm laughed. "Brain over brawn, dude! It's smarts that count in the corporate world." Mark sighed. This was going to be a tiresome mission. "A little physical competence never hurts. Speaking of which, are you covering those cliffs? My scanner reads no lifeforms but something or someone could be cloaked." Malcolm waved his hand as if shooing a fly away. "Relax, man, there's nothing out here! Brutus just likes some drama. There's absolutely nothing to worry abou...(GASP) LOOK OUT!!!!" Malcolm had glanced up at the cliff in question and was horrified by the sight of three armored Kawashita special forces agents! He quickly raised his hand phaser to fire at the enemy! But alas, he was too late! With a bright flash, a nano beam from the Kawashita special forces agent vaporized poor Malcolm on the spot! BRRZAAKKK!!! *Pooof* As soon as Mark heard the shot, he dropped his scanner, drew his MANTIS™ Death Ray Blaster©, and dove towards the canyon wall in one quick motion. He was none too soon! Another nano beam hit the spot Mark was standing milliseconds before! Mark snapped up against the rock wall, blaster ready, and listened for the enemy. He didn't get a chance to see where they were. It wasn't a minute before a taunting voice echoed across the valley. "Come out, come out, wherever you are! Mwahaha!" Another Kawashitan voice chimed in. "Don't worry, Zeloot. He won't get away. This is like shooting a fish in a barrel!" Mark began to analyze his situation as he noticed the small pile of ash where Malcolm stood a minute ago... With the help of a soaring pulse and a rush of adrenaline, a clever plan for survival sprung to mind. The ex-space pirate carefully drew out a small capsule that he had been keeping in his spacesuit. Mark mused to himself, they probably haven't seen this in Kawashita before... Without further thought, Mark threw the small cylinder up towards the jeering voices. The Kawashian special forces anticipated a conventional method of attack. "HAND GRENADE! QUICK, FIRE!" Before they could fire, however, the "hand grenade" let out a powerful electron pulse which promptly zapped the nano beam rifles of Mark's foes! ...Immediately rendering their weapon battery cells useless! Mark didn't wish to let his enemies recover from their shock, and so fired up his Awesomnium Powered Jetpack! Mark now glared eye to eye with the helpless Kawashita employees as he cocked his MANTIS™ Death Ray Blaster© four feet from their faces! "You were SAYING?!?!?!" To Be Continued! (Begin commentary) No hard feelings to my dark red friends! Clearly a truce is in your best interests since you are technologically inept in combat. Here are a few shots on a plain background for those who prefer them! Enjoy! The Dire Deserts of Death. by Mark E., on Flickr EDIT* I now realize I didn't read the rules. Shucks! Unless I can find time to fix this consider this a freebuild.
  14. :: Unexpected recovery log :: The lifeless planet of Guinevere is the next stop in the Kawashita path in Andromeda. This steaming planet is worth exploring from a distance at first. Streams of boiling stone in the cracks of dark stone. The probe searches the area for a decent stock of resources when the scanner blinks. Narbilu checks the report of the scanner. Biomass, a life form. Somehow fauna of some sort seems to adapted itself to grow in these circumstances. Oxygen levels are acceptable, so it is time to drop ship and discover this for ourselves.
  15. Hereby my entry to War Zone 9. If I win I5 is to be the next war zone. WZ 9: The Battle for the Bloody Lane by Beorthan, on Flickr Shortly after having taken position in a small shelter along the important oil road, Sir William Drake finds his unit of heavy infantry attacked by a tribe of Cyclops berserkers supporting Ulandus. "Form a shield wall" Drake barks in a commanding voice. WZ 9: The Battle for the Bloody Lane by Beorthan, on Flickr At the sound of the command, the remainder of the unit, two light infantrymen, rushes from the shelter where they had rested. With the shield wall formed, their bolts will wreak havoc amongst the berserkers, whose savage attack will not stand much of a chance against a well-disciplined unit. WZ 9: The Battle for the Bloody Lane by Beorthan, on Flickr The build sans figs. Nothing too special, but I think it turned out reasonably well. C&C is more than welcome. I must admit 3 war zones with the same deadline is taking it's toll!
  16. Hereby my entry to warzone 8. Should I win, the next warzone should be I5. Only few of the channels of the Qar-Akhen River Delta are consistently navigable. To guide vessels towards these channels, small lighthouses has been erected on cliffs near the critical points of the channels. Control of these means control of most of the shipping, as only few captains can navigate the channels unaided... The Tower by Beorthan, on Flickr These towers are normally manned by a single keeper, but in these times of war, small garrisons of a few soldiers are stationed to guard the tower. Under the cover of the morning mist, Beorthan and Tauro has been ferried accross to the tower, swimming the last bit to avoid detection. After quickly dispatching the guard at the pier, they have now entered the tower, and are fighting the guards to wrest control over to the High Council. The Backside by Beorthan, on Flickr On the roof, Tauro is making quick work of the lookout, who will soon fall to his watery grave below... ...on the roofs by Beorthan, on Flickr ...while Beorthan is finishing off another guard from the balcony below. ...on the balconies by Beorthan, on Flickr Located off the coast, this lighthouse stands amidst the rolling waves of the southern sea, which often engulfes the lighthouse in soothing sounds. But when the seas run wild, they seem to struggle with the cliffs and stonework in an epic battle to wrest the tower off its foundation. Now, as ever, the seas roll on regardless of the drama above, and will wash off the blood of the skirmish before the next high tide... The water by Beorthan, on Flickr Thanks for looking, all. C&C is - as always - welcome. I am quite happy with my waves - a first for me, and the tower came out reasonable well, although a smoother transition between the lower, irregular part, and the upper part is high on my wishlist.
  17. The Golden Partisans - The new 13th Legion of Ulandus? Somewhere in the deserts of Kaliphin, a small group of soldiers has setup their camp. Hidden from the eyes of their foes these warriors are taking a quick rest from the past struggles, looking forward to heroic deeds in the future. Will first Centurio hear about their doings for Ulandus? Colours: Gold (secondary: "sand" / light yellow) Mission: Guerilla Missions, particulary in the desert Name: Golden Partisans Overview of the small camp. Backside of the camp. The group's elven leader is drinking some refreshment, while her guard is trying to take a nap. "The boy" is filling a bucket at the small hidden well they found in the desert. Well, actually it's hardly more than a hole in the ground, but water is what you need to survive under the sun! Some supplies of the warriors. The whole squad of the "Golden Partisans" as CMFs. Full Album with three more photos can be found here. I plan on adding the following over the next couple of days: * the camp at night * some facts about the squad (colour, history, races, mission, equipment) * single characters with some proper background stories * two more scenes about their heroic deeds after leaving the camp
  18. The name Mpya Stedor means "New city" ("Mpya" is swahili for "new" and "Stedor" comes from "Stede" which is old Dutch for "City") The new settlement became already quickly a famous place in Historica and after 3 years it was finally recognised as a mayor Port City! So a few hours before the Great Disturbance, Stedor was a busy tradeplace full of activity! There was even a very nice wedding going on!!! (check the movie: ) ---------------------------------------- Now: (a few weeks after the Great Disturbance) Lord Damaximus called in the Council of Stedor Lord Damaximus: => Sir Fre Poah, how is our financial status? Sir Fre Poah: => Badly Lord, it's like there is a gap in the floor and all our gold is vanishing through it... Damaximus: => Lord Tomvaximus (of Maestro): what are our revenues? Tomvaximus: => Our only revenues are the food we can sell at neighbouring cities with foodshortage... We hear the people complaining it is only fish fish and fish we can offer nowadays... All our other products are on hold... Damaximus: => How is the reconstruction of our gold mine? Tomvaximus: => I guess it will be 3 more weeks before we can start mining again and a few more weeks before the revenues will stream in... Damaximus: => Sir Gah Rydog, how is the rebuilding of our Southern Towers? Gah Rydog: => Will be a matter of days.. Normally by Thursday our fortifications are back like they should be. Damaximus: => Finally some good news... General Whisximus, Where are my troops? Whisximus: => Most of the Alleenridders and Ximian forces are still sieging Eastgate. The 1001 Tigres are on holiday at Al'Esterbroke so we don't have to pay them. The Atlarkian fleet is back in Atlarka as it is summer there and they wanted to see their wife and kids. The dragons of Drakrydar are also back home for the breeding season... => In Stedor we are using the minimum soldiers we need. The other soldiers are rebuilding the damaged parts of our city and the neighbours. Damaximus: => Tomvaximus, prepare some ships so we can send messengers to other Guilds. Tell them they can hire the 1001 Tigres as mercenaries. Make them leave our city tomorrow morning. Talking about our fleet, Admiral Bostoximus, how is our fleet? Bostoximus: => We still have 10 ships. 10 more ships are currently being repaired. The 30 other ships we once had, are lost. I am sorry my lord. Damaximus: => Council dismissed, I gonna cry some... -------------------------------------------- Lord Damaximus: => Lord Max Samu, what's up with the Ulanda thing in front of our bay, anymore news? Lord Max Samu, => our agents are doing everything they can to gain as much info as possible. It is a good thing we don't say much about it to our citizens. The first reports I get in are talking about more than 5000 soldiers, very well organised. Damaximus: => Okay, let's send an emissary to there. Hopefully they are not up to war... Max Samu: => They already sent emissaries themselves to weaker cities here in Kaliphlin. It is frightening that not one major city in Kaliphlin saw an emissary of Ulanda. The only emissary we saw was that idiot who claimed the Desert King is back. Damaximus: => I know it is frightening. That's why my messengers are not going to offer my 1001 Tigres but they are going to ask for help to our alliances in other Guilds. Max Samu: => It is indeed wise to let our citizens be unknown of the current situation. Are you going to tell your allies Stedor is bankrupt? Damaximus: => Nope. When they ask to show some money, we are going to show the money of Everlast. Thanks god that place hasn't been hit by the Great Disturbance...
  19. Yo! With everyone building machinery and such I decided to make something a bit more...furry So I (too) combined the 9392 and 42026 sets and made this little beasty: I was actually inspired by the small orange panels, I thought to myself those are some awesome ears. Function wise foxy is quite packed: Using a special lock his rear legs can be placed in standing or sitting positon: So here's the little bugger sitting: And because his jaw is actuated by the worm gear he can also grab his favourite toy: I used the flex tubes on the tail in such way they push on the body, creating friction. This means his tail can move up and down- Tail in normal position: And raised: And now he's just being silly: I used 263 of the 307 combined parts. Total time spent on building, rebuilding, optimising, etc... was some 3 days - I'd say around 8 hours total. I think he's the first pullback motor powered quad, which is actually quite hard to make because the pullback motors are not really good for non-linear moving mechanisms. My personally favourite feature besides walking and sitting is the ear movement because it gives him an ability to express himself. All in all I am very pleased about this model because its just so different from the regular stuff. And he's cute Here's a video of the little furry beasty: I hope you guys are impressed as much as I am
  20. For the story, see the first thread about the War of the Brothers The call for arms and the challenge are open to ALL guilds. PART ONE: A CALL TO ARMS – The Battle of the Wither Woods The battle of the Wither woods is coming. Dugal and Petera both need help to defeat the other. Which side will you choose? These battles will be fought in the same manner as the Battle of Queens Cross and the Battle of Khordeem. Meaning, you sign up your hero or squad, and I try to replicate them and get them into the battle. This Call to Arms is only for the first battle, the Battle of the Wither Woods. When you sign up, state the men you are sending and which brother they are supporting. Remember, Dugal fights for the Historica of present, while Petera fights for the Valkarian Order’s desire for a new stronger Historica. How this works: Basically, the battle will be fought out as a wargame, using rules that my brother and I have been working on for a LONG time. (This is also a playtest for us.) It will take a few days to get all the way through, but should prove to be epic. The plan is simple. The call has gone out by raven , magic and other means to the far ends of Historica. Help is needed at the upcoming battle in the Wither Woods. If you wish to join the battle, send your small troop by mage, boat, or land to either North Avalonia (Petera) or Eastgate (Dugal). Some may make it for the start of the battle, and others might join in the thick of it as reinforcements. Anyone that signs up while the battle is still going, we will try to get into the battle. All we need is a pledge of men (1-10, although 10 may be hard to represent on the battlefield; the ideal number is squads of 5). I will try to represent your figures as closely as possible, but it might be hard to accurately represent some heroes or your actual men’s uniforms. (we can always chalk it up to artist’s interpretation) We will then give your men (or women!) stats and bring them into battle. They will then fight in the battle to see if they can help win it for their side. If your hero or your men are known for a certain weapon style or ability, include it in your pledge. We will try to accommodate this in your character’s stats. You may want to also show us a picture of who you are sending, if you want us to try and replicate them. WARNING: The soldiers you send may die – if you send a hero, you might want to tell us you would prefer they fell wounded or are likely to retreat. It is all luck of the dice (much like the tournaments that have been held) The battle won’t start until Later in May, but I will keep checking the forums for new recruits and can add people all the way until the battle is done. So if you don’t make it before the battle, sign up at any point during the battle. Anyway, I hope some of you will heed one of the brothers calls, and join them to defeat the other. Post below your men and who you are pledging to help. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The contest thread has been moved to here. The text is the same as below though. PART TWO: Bringing the pain We are going to try something new this time around; we are going to have other people “build” weapons of war that will be used in both battles. The builders will build LDD models that we can use the show construction mode on. (Alternatively, a builder could photograph “instructions” to participate in this battle). Then, we will build some of these models for the battles. This is what you have to do: Create a separate thread for your weapon of war, then link it in a post on the registry thread. The title tag for the LDD contest is {WotB} In your thread you should have a completed picture of the siege weapon. You should have the capability to email us the design or “print” it. (Links to this material in your thread are highly appreciated!) You can add story to your weapon (maybe what company / person built it, etc…) You can also tell us what side you hope will use your weapon (Petera or Dugal’s). Is it a one of a kind weapon that has special properties? Or could there be multiple on the battle field? There are two categories, and each builder can enter both up to three times. The first category is Field Pieces. These will be used at the Battle of the Wither Woods. This battle will most likely take place in a lightly wooded area, but overall very few fortifications will be present on the field. The weapons can range from catapult to ballista, from twirling death machine to cow crusher… the limits are endless, other than it really should not be a siege engine. The second category is Siege Engines. These should be the heavy duty battle machines that are designed to take down walls, assault fortresses, and get men in close to fight the enemy. The siege engines will be used later on in the year at the Battle for Eastgate. One caveat -- the portion of the battle portrayed at the end of summer will be an invasion from the sea... So, any siege weapons that fold up nicely, may have the upper hand in the judging. (MAY HAVE) Specifications: Since we are going to try and build these, we are going to set a 400 piece limit. You don’t have to use 400 pieces, you can use fewer. We just won’t be able to build anything larger than 400 pieces. The one thing I do not have in my collection is a lot of technic gears and pieces, staying away from these would increase the chances of seeing your weapon in built form during the battle. However, containing many technic pieces won’t hurt your chance of winning. Just like the call to arms, anybody in the Guilds of Historica can participate. Deadline: Field Pieces: May 15th Siege Engines: September 30th The winner of each category will be forever known as Artillery Captain of Eastgate or Siege Commander of Eastgate

  22. So I'm sure we are all aware of the ongoing 'ice bucket' challenge. I have noticed many people have been nominating others from the Lego fan community to do this challenge, so I was wandering: how should we nominate Eurobricks users? Should we PM other users or have a topic?
  23. Hi all, Trying to do something for work but my ideas haven't worked. Could anyone make the following logo for me out of lego (LDD) and let me know how. Requirements: Needs to be as small as possible (Fewest bricks). Best colour match as possible. All pieces must e available in pick a brick. If a deign is used I will of course credit the designer. Thanks!
  24. Book II Challenge I Category A Dragon’s Blood The human Nimueh and her companion the Dark Horse have been traversing Nocturnus with warnings of the oncoming war. The Black Spire has spewed forth legions across the Darklands, destroying everything in their path. Very few of the smaller villages have any chance against the vial hordes. Nimueh: “They will be here before nightfall. You must leave now and make for one of the more defensible cities. Remain here and you will only meet death.” Village Elder: “We will not flee like cowards! We would rather stay and die then run!” “Wait…” a feeble voice whispered from the shadows. An old woman stepped forward and with a shaking hand held out a small vial. Nimueh took it carefully from her out stretched hand. “What is it?” With a gnarled finger, the old woman gestured towards Dark Horse, “The changeling can save us… with help from this, the blood of a dragon.” “How…?” Nimueh didn’t have time to wonder how the old woman new of Dark’s powers, the Spire horde was nearly upon them. The dragon’s blood would give Dark the extra power he would need to shift into something as great and powerful as a dragon. And with a dragon, they would decimate the Spire’s troop. Taking out her dagger, Nimueh approached Dark. He lowered his head in assent and allowed Nimueh to run the dagger along his shoulder, a small stream of blood flowed freely. She opened the vial and poured a single drop of the contents into Dark’s open wound. Drawing power from dragon’s blood, Dark’s form twisted and convulsed and stretched, black wings stretched above the villagers, and hot flames burst from his mouth. The old woman’s eyes gleamed “Go, crush our enemies and save our village.” Dark flew off to meet the horde. Nimueh and the villages followed to pick off the stragglers, and pile the burning bodies. C&C always welcome. Larger pictures on flickr.
  25. This is my first entry for the Age of Mitgardia freebuild challenge After William, Maxime and Alexander walked trough the woods of Mitgardia for a few days, they decided that it was time to search for a place where they could rest. They were exhausted and needed sleep and food. They found a river full of fish and now they just had to find a safe place to rest. There was a big rock a few meters from the river and after finding out that there was a hollow space underneath it, they decided that this would be their home for the next couple of days. William climbed on top of the rock and had an amazing view. He could see that they were not far away from a little village, because he saw smoke coming up above the hills, but for now, they're too tired to travel further. William stayed on top of the naturally shaped tower to watch out for any hunters or dangerous animals. William Bright on top of the rock The hollow space underneath the rock, covered with leaves to protect them from unwanted visitors. Without the minifig. I'm a newbie to building MOC's and the small amount of bricks I have doesn't really compensate that but I hope that, with your C&C and these phase builds, I keep getting better at it. So, I would really appreciate any C&C from you guys Thanks for viewing.
