  1. Welcome! Would like to present my moc for the Book II: Challenge V - Category A, Alliance side. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Wetland Delivery As the moon kept climbing, and the stars were shining over the dark, hazy wetlands of far eastern Nocturnus, a small wooden boat glided across the wild and hazardous region, called the Eight legged archipelago. Lothar von Vonnegut scanned the lush shore, and the waters for dangers thoroughly, as the edge of the land was getting closer and closer every moment. Only thing he could see over the side of the boat, was a big tree, with a scarlet magnolia near it. Some red fruit grew on the bush, the blood berry- but the man was unfamiliar with the flora and fauna of these parts. Couldn't identify the blazing stinger reed nor the rusty swamp sedge. - We are almossst theeere! Welcome to Bygone Bayou! - hissed his makeshift shady ferryman. An interesting fella with lime colored skin, and some red stripes at the sides of the chest. Had some garments, but not much. A green belt, and a few brown leather pads here and there. Sly and fishy visage. They ran into each other back in Skavenport, at the Black Knight's Inn. Lothar drank some good ale with his brother- in- arms there, before they parted ways. Their mission was the same, but their destination was different. And here he stood now, only a few hours later, on the island of Eeryland, the largest one of the archipelago north of the strait known as Street of Cerberus. In enemy territory, late night, alone, surrounded by a suspicious kind of a cold- blooded lad, who stated that he will get him to the Queen of Spiders, Lady Ashibikaashi. He loved every minute of these perilous assignments! Vonnegut carried an important message, which had to be delivered into the queen's hand only! But this was not an easy task given to him by his superiors in Shadowmere. Lord Raavage's forces patrolled these lands lately, and the soldiers of the Spire would commit horrendous things on a spy without any hesitation or remorse. Getting caught was not an option! - Who is that?! - raised the little bit edgy courier from his seat, because he spotted a shape of some humanoid on the shore. Couldn't make it out in the darkness but it held a spear, that was unmistakable. The boat hit land, with a slight impact, but Lothar didn't lose his footing, he stood solid in his black apparel, one hand behind his back, with a dagger in it, hid by his cloak. It was a cloak and dagger mission after all... - No need to worry my fffriend! He isss just a commuter offf mine! I will take him to the mahrrrket in Ssskavenport. Trades fruitsss of the ssswamps for thingsss hisss people needsss - answered the sketchy reptile chap from the front of the boat, as he finished up the docking procedures. - What are you talking about, scales?! You told me, you will guide me to Ashibikaashi! - the warrior of Shadowmere lifted his voice a bit. His shemagh covered some of his shock, and anger. - Relaxsss! I got you! I do not have a death wisssh to meet that ssspinner! By accsssident you arrive in feeding time, and you are finissshed... But! But! I know a perssson, he resssidesss clossse! Jussst get off the boat, and head eassst for a while! You will sssee a sssmall ssshelter! Sssearch for the light of the fireplace inssside! - Who lives there?! Speak, or i will cut out your forked tongue! - Captain von Vonnegut stepped closer to the slithering serpent to intimidate it a bit with his robust stature. - There'sss no need to get physssical! Pleassse!!! - Gutkeled the Tangled lives there, stranger! A feared, and rather mysterious person in these lands! I reckon he is some kind of elf maybe, with skin yellowish- greenish... His place is a short hike from here, but be wary! The night swamp is full of violence! Always be on your guard! - intervened the next passenger. Lothar slowly turned his head, took his eyes off of the snake, and looked at it- who still stood on the shore, with a sack in his hand, the spear in the other. It had some kind of back pack. The creature resembled a spider. - Gutkeled can get you safely to my Queen! - added the being, who had brown skin, beady yellowish eyes, two big white fangs, and wore some kind of grass, bones, and web as clothing. - And will he?! Out of the kindness of his heart, am i right? - leapt Vonnegut ashore, and he was skeptical at this point. Wasn't fancy of lies, deceivers, and changes of plans, and deals. Around him, the swamp was alive and well. Olive green sour snaketail grew everywhere. Between those some sprouts of lavender rush lived, and a magenta mangrove bush bloomed. Under them ebony vipers bed for the night. Couldn't sleep much, since a quag toad performed a concert for some hours now. - Have no idea. Would never approach The Tangled! I am just an insignificant fruitmonger for my kind. But you had the guts to come to these lands. Why stop now?! You don't look like a human, who backs down easily - replied the merchant. - Let'sss gooo! We mussst go! The tide is coming sssoon! - whissspered the ferryman anxiously. - I hope you two speak the truth! For your sake, and mine! - stepped Lothar aside to give way towards the boat. - Good luck to you! - said the spider guy, as he passed. - Keep your bootsss dry hoooman! - waved the cold blooded, as the boat slowly disappeared in the murk, behind a giant maroon cypress. Captain Vonnegut could clearly hear the high- pitched sound of the flying mourner mice, as they were eating a midnight snack of tasty bayana fruit. Above them a grey corbie had a nap. It wasn't aware, that a swamp spook lurked close, looking for its prey! Even the sentinel of the swamp, the brown cloaked glider raptor on the top of the cypress didn't detect its presence yet! The all alone man looked up, and spotted some kind of giant coccoon, hanging on one of the lower branches. He was fortunate, he didn't know, there was a giant spider's dinner in it. Only a few days old. A hapless avalonian adventurer. Probably his party couldn't made it much further neither... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The pictures: IMG_20170203_112758_3 by Erhard Maas, on Flickr IMG_20170203_113011 by Erhard Maas, on Flickr IMG_20170203_113153 by Erhard Maas, on Flickr IMG_20170203_113232 by Erhard Maas, on Flickr IMG_20170203_113435 by Erhard Maas, on Flickr IMG_20170203_113646 by Erhard Maas, on Flick The characters: Thanks for watching! 2. Previously in the story: Bull's Eye (Prelude) This still takes place long before Raavage Davok: "We gathered our forces rather quick, and then marched for Falconstone. The supply train would arrive later, 'cause I wanted my vanguard to move freely.". "We were only halfway through the Frozen River fords, when some riders blocked our path." Unpleasant encounter (1) by David de Rijke, on Flickr "Three riders from unknown origin where standing in the river. One of them was their leader, obviously. He seemed to be some sort of wizard scum, given his hat and his staff from which icy sparks were coming. Never liked this kind.. The worst part, was their faces. They did not seem to have any..." "The wizard could speak, however. Immediatly when we saw these fellows, I raised my shield and took a defensive position. I saw my men do the same while my chieftains looked at me what to do. But the wizard told us about that messenger I spoke at the Bull's Eye. He said they were sent to help us. They lowered their weapons to prove it. I started to get an uneasy feeling about this whole mission. Who was our client, and why did he venture with wizards of this kind? Might he be some sort of wizard himself? And WHO is this stranger, if his value is so big these... powers... are sent in to deal with it?"

    Bull's Eye (Prelude)

Davok: "Long before the rise of Raavage, in the days after Revolword's defeat, a messenger arrived at the Bull's Eye, in these days not more than a mere outpost for our compagny" Bull's Eye by David de Rijke, on Flickr "The messenger, no one remembers anything of what he looked like, demanded to speak with the present highest in rank, which happend to be the Bull's second in command, me. It appeared to be confidential, so we sat together in the higher room of the tower" Bull's Eye by David de Rijke, on Flickr "To make a long story short: Some high guy wanted to hire us. The messenger seemed to say 'Victor' at a given point, but stopped abrupt and looked scared for a moment. Well, to the point. Our mission: Falconstone to the south gave hospitality to a stranger that was brought there under heavy escort. They seem to not know the danger of this man. Our client told us how this man has escaped the sack of the Dark Wizard's, and that he is a dangerous wizard himself. Those falcons wouldn't believe us, I can tell in advance. They never have been keen to see logic... We have to siege Falconstone, and kill this man. The reward? Bigger than you can ever dream off." Bull's Eye by David de Rijke, on Flickr Bull's Eye by David de Rijke, on Flickr (Here we go... A long way to go, and the story is already paving its path in my mind. Where this will end, I don't know :D) (This is a quite old build, and I have great news: got a new camera and new adjustments to my room that will be used for my next build :D) (The guy with the kanjiclub torso is the younger version of my sigfig, Davok ^^) (oh my god... while trying to play with revolword's name, I discovered its origin ONLY NOW... quite a slow catch)
  4. If you are unaware, in some European countries a Lego Bionicle magazine was released, each issue came with a free gift, unfortunately only 2 issues were ever released, so I have created this challenge to create some gifts to "continue" the magazine. All you need to do is submit an image of your design and a small description, it must have relevance to the Bionicle 2015-2016 story and be around the size of the official gifts below. The best design will be featured in a stop-motion movie releasing next year along with a small section of the credits devoted to the winner. For inspiration here are the 2 free gifts that were released: Thanks for reading and good luck! Entries must be in by 5th January 2017
  5. Captain Braunsfeld

    The Red Hat Gang

This is my entry to the mini challenge: The gangs of Charlatan Bay. These mean guys mean business: The Red Hat Gang. The boss: Big Red Riding Hood He is usually the one with a plan. His lieutenant: Harold Handbag. In battle, harold is wielding a loaded purse (containing a brick). Iron Carl - the problem solver of the gang. Guitar George - he knows all the chords. As well known amongst role players, bards perform an essential job as they keep up the gang's spirit. That is they sing and dance while the others fight. Dunno why. Must be a strange tradition. Smashed-Bottle Billie - always willing to fight for the right to protect the poor. Don't go looking for them. They'll find you! C&C Welcome!
  6. The Black Spire calls for reinforcements. The gears of war are finally put in motion and the terrible, most devastating fate of the Darklands takes its course. While the armies of Historica march to Nocturnus, a single colossus comes down the northern Rakath at the border to Mitgardia; the giant seeks neither glory nor riches, the pure lust for destruction and chaos makes him leaving his home in the mountains and entering the vale. Where he plagues the land, he erases villages. He devours the cattle and leaves nothing but desolation and death.
  7. "Fleet ahoy" Suddenly, pirate captain Baboo stormed out of his cabin. Would it be the Eslandolan Treasure Fleet??? Would he become the richest pirate of them all?? Such an excitement.... "How many ships?!" "6... But..." "What?" "They seem to be blue..." "Megablocks, an Oleon fleet... Change our course!!!!" Well, that was disappointing for captain Naboo Baboo... This is one of the ships he saw, the blueish ship "La Mystique" One of my favourite parts below: Captain Giancarlo Fishandsth ^ Wait a minute, is that green and white??? Oh yes, I forgot to tell you that Lord Maximilian Damaximus bought some old Oleon ships and uses them to transport his part of the Treasure Fleet The ship is filled with Eslandolan soldiers, just like all other ships of this small fleet... And due this little trick, this part of the Eslandolan Treasure Fleet arrived safely at its destination. ----------------------------------------------------------- C&C Welcome! As I would not have my hull pieces in time, I decided to revise the (ugly) Carribean Clipper set of Lego. It was fun modifying it and the result is (IMO) satisfying.
  8. Captain, are you really sure that the third last ship is the unarmed New Terraman that we can easily plunder for all their gold? Arr, off course I am! That's exactly what we've read on those plans in that wrecked postship we found 2 weeks back! Captain! There is a cutter flying the Jolly Roger! They are trying to attack us! Up the Topgallants, Up the Courses! Drop the boat! Prepare a broadside to welcome them! Captain, I don't think that's an unarmed Terraman. Its over now! FIRE! Goodbye, dear fellow. Jack, good hit on their mast. I bet just shaking their boat will break it any minute now! FIRE! *Cannon noises as some guns fire again* Also, aren't we forgetting someone? He could come in useful... We have gotten them good this time! They are done! Pull them in so we can board them! On it Captain! Our other sniper on the fighting tops wasn't forgotten about... *SPLASH* At least his friend got revenge for him... Clear their deck with the carronades! We can forget this cutter anyways! *BOOM* *censored screams* *terrible noise from bones breaking* Board them now! There are only two of them left, maybe we can find out how they found us! *Jump* You found a map and a letter in an lost postship? And you were looking for an unarmed Terraman instead of for us? Well, we knew about that postship, so we changed our positions in the convoy! Tell the devil I won't be there visiting any time soon! A good captain goes down with his ship! SET THE COURSES! SET THE TOPGALLANTS! WE SUNK THEM! I'll post more about these ships later, the frigate(28 guns, 5HA+) will go to Eslandola, the gunboat(10 guns, at least 2A) is owned by Kai NRG. The Frigate is named La Raya Venenosa, The Stingray, and the Cutter is named Dark Spirit. Edit: the bowsprit overhangs only slightly if both ships are placed diagonally. I was actually considering placing my Xebec in the battle as well and saying the 48x80 box is width x height, but I felt like that would've been cheating:P
  9. Dramatis Personae: Thank you, Sue and Eshey, for joining me as I inspect one of Octan's entries into the mech wrestling competition for the 2016 Space Olympic Games here in Andromeda. Glad to be here, sir. Thanks for inviting me. I'm just happy that the corporations in Andromeda are trying to improve their relations. So, sir, what is our strategy for this entry? Everyone thinks that wrestling is about physical strength and technique. Isn't it, sir? That's what small minds think, Eshey. However, this entry will win by completely outsmarting its opponents. Meet Octan's big head wrestling mech! What in the av...the av...av...oh my.... Something wrong, Eshey? I...I don't believe it. I've run out of avocados to give. That sounds like something you should have looked at. It comes equipped with a giant neuroprocessor made up of 1 billion parallel quantum processors capable of handling up to 500 exabytes of information every 100th of a second. Impressive. It comes with three personalities to allow it to adapt to different situations quickly, each represented by a different face. This also offers the mech 360 degree vision, meaning that no opponents can ever sneak up on it. It can be its own friend and form its own clique. It also comes equipped with a timer and headlamps for wrestling in the dark. That's my favorite kind of wrestling. This mech is just a giant head! How can it wrestle? Sigh. By outsmarting its opponents. Don't you listen, Eshey? What about physical attributes?! Don't you ever play any role playing games, Eshey? You only have so many points to allocate for stats. In this case, all the points were put into Intelligence. No one ever creates a well-rounded role playing character. How is it supposed to wrestle with such tiny arms?! You know who else had tiny arms, but dominated its opponents, Eshey? Tyrannosaurus Rex. I think it's pretty clear that this mech will be as powerful and dominating as Tyrannosaurus Rex. Comments and criticisms are all welcome!
  10. Hi Our local online technic community LEGO Technic Russia took part in LEGO Technic Trial challenge this november (08/11/15) For me it was a nice possibility to test my DIY obstacles I did with my father during summer and autumn. I was inspired to build such obstacles seeing this brilliant track by OzBen and Doc_Brown (http://www.eurobrick...78&hl=challenge). The goal was to made it modular and transportable. I used wood, building foam, natural stones and other stuff that is easy to find and work with. At first it was hard to imagine all different ideas. In the end I even build river pass module - based on plastic container that was decorated with foam, stones and painted. Some obsatcles was covered randomly by grippy sealant for better wheel grip. I have only one problem - how to fit all the stuff at two narrow tables...but result was very good! Here is Desert752 As for trial challenge: we had about 15 offroaders. Some of them was based on well known MOCs (like Madoca's pickup) and some was own creations. Contestants was divided by 2 groups 1) Trophy. Mostly civil SUVs with at least one open front differential. Rear can be locked or free. Wheels 62 or 68 mm. 2) Unlimted. Tuned SUVs with wheels up to 83 mm. No differentials and wheel gear reductors possible. The idea was that trophy car had better mobility and steering, and Unlimited was able to crawl everywhere. But locked rear diff at first group makes them crawl good as Unlimited trucks. So track times was equal. We measured track time and added extra time for hitting flags or using help of hand/wrecker. Desert752's blue Toyota 6x6 Wrecker worked there as TOW service) In the end we saw that both classes was able to compete each other. First role played driving skills and driving accuracy. Glad to saw there AFOLs from different cities of Russia and even from Belarus. As for me, I have to drive with all that stuff in my car 1300 km one way. We had a nice time there. Thanks for LEGO Group for given prizes. In the end, All phots here http://bricksafe.com/pages/rm8/trial-challenge-megabricks I have a short long video of that meeting.
  11. And this is what happens when you have only a few hours before the deadline, and only one partially complete build, but are determined to enter something into this category... Once back in a tavern in Bastion Captain Dracken gathered his officers in a private room with plenty of grog. Several rounds of drinks later First Mate Jakes had to ask once more question about the Fountain. "So what happened to the other guy?" he asked, "this father... Tholeua?" Before Dracken could offer his thoughts Iosefka interrupted. "They say dead men tell no tales," she began, "but truely the living need listen more attentively. For Tholeau's fate is no great enigma to those inclined to hear..." The Last Island... Truely, Tholeau had drunk of the Fountain and been restored. But youth has its own curses, recklessness prime amongst many. He went on to the next island heedless of the cost he had incurred, for his selfish use of the Fountain had angered the local spirits and roused the ghosts of all who had gone before him. On the third and final of those islands he found another cave. Of course he had to know what treasure lay on this island. But he found no treasure. Only bones, and hatred for the life he had claimed for himself. And try as he want his legs availed him not. And deep in the caves of that isle he still lays. Water he sought. Water he did find. One Last Answer "So, Althea asked, "if Tholeau died on that island how did his journal get out?" "The dead," Iosefka answered, "do not all rest easy on dark nights and wyrd tides. And Tholeau, he seek immortality above all else. Death not keep his tale untold, and so he become myth. Myth not die so quietly or quickly." "What you're saying," Jakes said, "is that his ghost carried his journal off that island." "It would not be the strangest thing we have seen." Dracken said. A very last minute category B entry, because I just haven't the energy for a second elaborate build. Some "clean" shots of the cavern and it's contents are behind the spoiler button.

  16. After some time around these newly explored islands we noticed that some stronger defence on the water would be needed; many Sea Rats and even some unidentified creatures which attacked our man on their small boats were around and causing our man to lose confidence that it would be a good idea to stay around these islands. Some even said they were cursed. This made it clear that we need more to defend our island than just a few man with sticks in rowboats. I decided it would be a good idea to sent a letter to one of the best shipbuilders of Eslandola if he were interested in building some sloops to defend the area. He agreed to the contract and went ahead to build this one; I've named it Arkady for its wild nature and, for its size, good armament. It even has some space to carry along some goods, which I really appreciate. Hereby I present you, Arkady, a class 2WR sloop: I sure hope his aggressive bow keeps those Sea Rats under control! And lastly, a picture of Arkadys starboard side: Not exactly relevant for this challenge, but I still feel like it is relevant, the Arkady with the rest of my fleet (including the HMS Kent/War Dwarf which is now owned by Bregir). Captain Anco Liconardo commands this vessel.
  17. Challenge 2B A long time ago many factions fought over a tiny key island outpost in the Seas of Storm. The lookout post was installed by Oleon and provided intelligence of ship movements in the Seas of Storm. Corrington, unfriendly to Oleon, seized the outpost with a small expedition force. Their victory may have been short lived though. Victory Is Short Lived by dr_spock_888, on Flickr Here's a little fun challenge: Can you guess off the top of your head which LEGO set the island base is from? No looking up or searching.
  18. Challenge 2A Defend Yer Claims News Headline: New Islands from Challenge 1 Up for Grabs In the name of defense of new territory, the Far Horizon shipyard cranked out an armed cog in record time. She was christened as the "Incognito" by the Lady of Ill Repute from the House of Pleasure in Bastion. The ship features a flat bottom to allow her to stay close to shore for coastal defense or attack coastal fortifications up close and personal with her main guns. Being shallow bottomed she can sail or be pulled by horses up and down rivers. Ship Christening by dr_spock_888, on Flickr She is crewed by the most vile tax avoiding scums of the Brick Seas. 19. CHALLENGE I CHALLENGE II NOTE: Your entries to each challenge should be linked to the individual challenge thread, not this thread! New Island Discovered! King Fernado VII had seen how quickly the MCTC had pounced on Nellisa in just the few years the Eslandolans had secured the island. He felt that the island itself may even be lost to the influence of the merchant company, so he put together a two action solution. He sent Renato Filamento to Nellisa to attempt to wrestle back control of the island. He also send out a new expedition of exploration, one that would rival Cato’s and Renato’s first voyages to New Terra. He chose Ivo Fortesque, one of Eslandola’s great sailors, to lead the expedition. Fortesque, a family man and respected captain, graciously accepted his king’s commission. He was given control of the Santa Clara, along with a few minor vessels, and left for New Terra. After refitting at Kings Port, and then again at Nova Terelli, he sailed East into the unknown. He sailed 15 days due Northeast, as that was the best way to tack into the winds, and he had no specific destination. On the last day Derelin Magini yelled down from the crow’s nest of the Santa Clara, “Land Ho!” Ivo paid the young man the reward he promised the first person that spots new land, 20 gold Doubloons. He then prepared to land his vessel. It took another day to find a suitable beach, but the long boats were brought out and Fortesque himself was on the lead boat. As they approached the beach, the Eslandolians gasped in surprise. There were people there! The curious natives came out to greet the Ivo and his men. These were the first New Terrans that any Old Worlder had ever seen beyond Terraversa. As the two groups approached one another, they were both cautious, but two things stuck in Ivo’s mind. First, he was going to be a very famous man. Second, these natives did not seem too surprised to see foreigners… [OCC: Thank you to KolonialBeamter for making these wonderful pictures. Also, I am away from my map making software, so the updated maps will be made later this week.] Challenge I Challenge II
  20. First part of the story ... Captain Ben D'Anvers was relieved when he saw a little settlement. They survived the unknown jungle they had to go through. But once arrived in the hamlet, he saw he took too few soldiers with him. He never imagined he would run into such a big community. Those vikings must breed kids like rabbits!! Somewhere in the middle of the hamlet, the longest (erm...) longhouse stood next to a campfire. It was very nice detailed with even golden accents. Based on the quality of their weaponry and those gold touches, there should be some mines around the hamlet... Very interesting... Luckily for Ben, the Vikings were very friendly and even really gratefull they saw for the first time in ages some people from a world that became a fantasy for them. A man with red horns on his helmet came outside the longhouse and started talking blablabla as Ben didn't understand a word. With hands and feet and a small chicken, they managed to greet eachother. After a few hours of making strange moves and sounds, Captain Ben understood he wouldn't come anyfurther. Time to go back home and return with a translator from Corrington! To be continued? Depends on your votes hahaha :D C&C welcome!
  21. Anwok and Jynil awoke to their baby crying. Jynil nursed her child, then prepared him for their trip to the orchard. Anwok and Jynil thought that their child was the only new part of their morning trip. Jynil wrapped him securely and put him on her back. Then they went to pick apples. Then they saw … them. As they looked down upon the beach, they saw three people, but they wore strange clothes. Off in the distance was a large vessel, unlike anything Anwok and Jynil had seen before. They had heard the stories of strangers visiting the island -- everybody had -- but the stories were so old that nobody on the island still alive had ever seen any. But the strangers on the beach fit the stories well. The vessel was a large as in the stories. Their clothing was an odd mix; Anwok presumed the overdressed one in the middle was the leader. They did not appear threatening. Anwok told Jynil to go back and tell the elders about the visitors. Anwok would go down to the beach and present them with a gift of apples. … *** I wanted to play with forced perspective in this build, and also thought it would be fun to take the point of view of the natives rather than the explorers. The scene also serves as a step back from my build for challenge 1B, which is a close-up of the explorers on the beach. An overhead view of the build:
  22. Captain’s Log of Philip Janszen, commanding the sloop Lady of Madrice, 15 Feb 616, somewhere east of Nellisa: After two weeks at sea, land was spotted. Hendrikson was on duty in the crow’s nest when, just before 8 bells, he sighted a shape on the horizon to the east-southeast. Adjusting our course to intercept, we soon determined that it was not a sail, but rather a small island. I conferred with Anthony Crol, my second in command, and we agreed that we must make landfall. We anchored our sloop and I ordered Crol to remain aboard while I commanded an away party of three to investigate the island. We did not know what to expect, and, although we saw no sign of inhabitants from our vantage point, we armed ourselves in case of hostiles. I also took a small pennant, and when we made landfall, I claimed the island for Eslandola and the MCTC. *** The beach didn't turn out how I had hoped, but I'm fairly happy with the technique I used for the surf. I also dabbled in some forced perspective with the anchored ship in the background. Here's an overhead view of the build:
  23. Challenge 1 B Banana Republic by dr_spock_888, on Flickr Our pirate Susieh and her crew came upon a small island in Terra Nova. Danger appeared to lurk on the island. Upon landing on the beach, our pirates smelled a sweet intoxicating banana vapour and followed the scent to a group of natives. They seemed friendly enough. Susieh proceeded to negotiate a trade. Susieh drove a hard bargain with the native islanders. The islanders sought more bananas for their Master Brewer.
  24. Challenge 1 A A band of natives on a small island in Terra Nova has a pretty intoxicating operation going on hidden in the jungle. They brew special banana juice. It is rumored to be more tasty than rum and knock you off the feet instantly. To brew this wonderful concoction large amounts of bananas are needed. Maybe more than they have on their island. Banana Juice by dr_spock_888, on Flickr Does this mean they will be raiding a planation somewhere?
  25. As some of you may know LEGO is running a Technic Building Competition with Mercedes-Benz. I was looking forward to participate and it took me a while to understand what future truck would look like. Initial idea of building truck driven by both front and back axles was quite simple to implement. Two L-motors have been used for that. Steering is performed by Servo motor and truck is controlled remotely. Fun fact - chassis without aerodynamic cover is somewhat reversible and can be used up side down. Final model is very sturdy thanks to slick and strong body. Unfortunately, due to selected width rear axle is somewhat less reliable and has gear grinding upon start but drives normally afterwards. This is something wasn't possible to completely solve having double wheels per each side.
