I'd be happy for it to be a simple story build and present new build for April FB 1 & 2, just let me know.... |~+=@&@=+~|~+=@&@=+~|~+=@&@=+~| Log Entry 2 April 616 Bastion Bay, Nest of Thieves Captain Rhys Flaidd DeTaillefer Today we have both ships running trials in Bastion Bay..... coming alongside on Flickr After two fairly profitable trade runs under my supervision, Tzomo has shown great aptitude at running the affairs of a sea vessel, as well as becoming an invaluable member of our team in Bastion.... Handing over the helm on Flickr "It is with great honour that I bestow upon you the rank of Captain, with all the responsibilities it entails....." Promotion to Captain on Flickr This has been a great boon to my workload....allowing me to focus on much needed improvements to Antigone's Fury, like the new jib sails.... New Jib Sails on Flickr ...and widening those blasted hatches to the lower deck! Rhys Flaidd DeTaillefer Bastion, Day 134 License type: Artisan (small) Despite my suspicions to the contrary, old man Plantagenet made good on his promise...17 days after we arrived in Bastion, the supplies he promised, and more, arrived. Brit and I found an abandoned set of walls that made for a great workshop...It appears the structure may have burned at some time in the past...but the walls are stone and masonry...and as sturdy as an ox. After another few weeks of scrounging and bartering with our new neighbors, The Sail Company opened her doors.... We surely will have much work out here upon the great sea, I worry what favors will be asked of us by the family down the road.... Rhys Flaidd DeTaillefer .....Sandbank? More like small island.....there's just enough of it that stays dry, even during a Spring Tide.. Fishing at the Captain's Shanty on Flickr We built a dock and small bridge to connect her to the lighthouse proper.... Rhys Flaidd DeTaillefer Unknown Island (Goma sha d'aya) SSE of Bastion, Day 158 After sailing through the night, we came upon Tzomo and Wooqui's island shortly after breakfast....to their people, it was known as "Goma sha d'aya." Our first two approaches to the island were failures....either steep escarpments of rock or dense stands of bamboo prevented us from landing.... Then, on the leeward side of a cove, we saw a promising stretch of beach...but someone was already there... Rhys Flaidd DeTaillefer There was quite a stir of excitement at the pier today. A piece of equipment was being unloaded from the ship that arrived yesterday morning... Strange Freight.... on Flickr It belonged to one Pavel Galerkin, who has been moving in down the way...he gave me a quick tour of his shop... Rhys Flaidd DeTaillefer At sea, 7 hours SSE of Bastion, Day 157 Sailed South Southeast for several hours testing the new sail-plan and rigging....oh, and I got a new hat! A fresh new bicorne by Christopher Briggs, on Flickr We brought along some of our new friends to discuss some business as well...though that mostly consisted of sampling rum... Tzomo and Wooqui make their escape by Christopher Briggs, on Flickr As they approached, we could make out a rather fearsome warrior and some sort of holy man... The Head of Keev, kept by Wooqui for it's strong medicine by Christopher Briggs, on Flickr The warrior's name was Tzomo, and his friend was called Wooqui....they told a frantic story of escape from their island, where their entire village had been slaughtered...Wooqui carried a sack of intricate dolls that apparently represent the souls of their lost tribesmen... Wooqui's sacred dolls by Christopher Briggs, on Flickr Along with the dolls, Wooqui carried a staff adorned with the head of the tribes' former chief...it apparently has "strong medicine," whatever that is... They also had a box of long sharp teeth....which they claimed come from a beast called "Oonguum" that swims these very seas..... DeTaillefer License type: Class 2T I had mentioned earlier that Lord Plantagenet had come through "and more....." ....and now I will clarify. In addition to the ample supplies and goods, we also received a small trade vessel named "Le Dindon" Le Dindon at sea by Christopher Briggs, on Flickr Though not huge, she's more than enough to get us on our feet...she was good to go to work as soon as her cargo was unloaded... On a still Autumn afternoon, Captain Rhys Flaidd DeTaillefer entered the infamous Harbour of Bastion......
