  1. This is Benny the 1980-something Space Guy's apartment. It features a garage on the lower floor for his Lego Classic Space - styled Car. The style of the set is based off half of set 6390, a Classic Town set from 1980. (This set was re-released in 2003 under the short-lived Lego LEGENDS line as set 10041.) Also, unlike most of my buildings, Benny's apartment does not open like a dollhouse, but features removable levels to accesses the inside, much like a modular building. The numbers "60" should go on the stud next to the door, as provided by this piece: http://www.bricklink...sp?P=3070bpb003 The rear of the building is a solid brick wall. (now I'm thinking of that Pink Floyd song "Another Brick in The Wall") The lower floor features Benny's Classic Space-themed car. The upper floor features a layout with miniature buildings, a bed, side-table with lamp, computer, a micro-model of Benny's SPACESHIP! LEGO set and a 1980's telephone. The arch on Benny's LEGO layout features this printed piece courtesy of Astro Kitty: http://www.bricklink....asp?P=4490pb02 This Classic Space car features: -Trans-Yellow glass / headlights -Classic space logo on the rear of the car -Classic Space accurate color scheme The rear features the (printed!) classic space logo from Benny Spaceship: http://www.bricklink...sp?P=30363pb021 Here is the LDD file for the car and building: http://www.mocpages....1425153749m.lxf
  2. Hi everyone. This is my conversion of the Lego Creator Palace Cinema into a gig venue for rock bands. The video details the current changes and future plans for the MOC. I hope you like the plan. I'll post updates as the internal features develop. Let me know if you have any ideas or comments. I'd love to hear from you. Thanks, Mike

    A small vintage villa

So trying my hand for the first time in house building resulted in this little vintage villa somewhere down south. From a minifigs perspective when entering through the gate: Alternating between side-studded bricks and headlight bricks brought some extra texture to the corners: The terrace (unfortunately I ran out of those black fences and didn't bother with a BL order for them): This is a front-face MOC, but here are the other sides as well:

    [MOC] Book Store

Hey guys, I'd like to present my modular Book Store. It's a little smaller than the other modulars, but I like it. No interior yet, don't usually like them, but for a book store, I might have to put in some books. A picture with one of my other MOCs and the PS. (Sorry for the potato quality) With more of my modulars. This is a temporary setup, as my shelf had to be off my wall because of construction on my house. Thanks for looking!

    Chip's Ice House

Chip's Ice House photos on Flicker Hi All, I recently finished a new building, Chip's Ice House, for my train layout. It is a scratch built "copy" of Woodland Scenic's Chip's Ice House. I really enjoy Woodland Scenic's web site because their models are already "selectively compressed" and finely detailed. I also scratch built "copied" the Meg-A-Watt factory building. I noticed that Jason (j-spears) also built the Barrel Factory from Woodland... :-) I have been wanting to build this one for over a year and when I saw michaelozzie1's Train2 folder on Flickr I was inspired by the Cargo Loading Shed! BTW... I totally stole the palette MOC from michaelozzie1! Thanks all for the inspirations !!! SteveB

  7. This model was the third place winner in Swebricks LEGO competition "The city we built". Here is (the badly translated) description I had for my model: "Businesses had been bad for Ragge Runarson in the increasingly desolate little town. Because of the current recession, sales had fallen drastically and all of his employees had to quit. It was with mixed feelings that he was standing at the window of the office building and looking out over his lifework. He remembers how he so happily rode to work every morning on his red bicycle. And he remembers the now broken cement mixer which he would use to finish cementing the walkway to the white cottage. Soon, however, there would come a person who was interested in buying the building, so then Ragge could start all over again!"

  10. I fell in love with canal houses since the first day of my Amsterdam trip this may, and started designing it next morning after return. I did my best to keep all the distinctive features of a canal house. First off all, you can notice that the canal houses are narrow and deep. They were designed so to minimize taxes, which, at that time, depended on the width of facade. Amsterdam is situated on a swamp land, therefore facades were built of light bricks with large windows to reduce the weight. Another interesting feature with windows is that they become shorter from ground floor to the top. This makes an illusion that building is higher than it actually is. Also note some kind of a plaque just above the door. Three hundred years ago, only small percent of people could read, and plaques helped to identify name or profession of the owner. Because canal houses were built narrow, staircases were also narrow, making it a big problem to take furniture and goods up. To solve the problem hooks were placed on the top of the house, allowing to lift what you need and pass it through the window. Red bike. Thanks to many factors, like flat terrain, narrow streets and desire to decrease car-accident deaths Amsterdam became one of the most bicycle-friendly cities in the world. Nowadays there are more than 400 km of bike paths and 1 200 000 bicycles (even more than citizens). About 100 000 of them are stolen each year, and therefore our bike is securely locked. Pls support this canal house on Lego Ideas: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/83275 (You could also find there story behind the building and more pics, in higher quality)

    MOC Modular Hospital (LDD)

Hi everyone This is my first MOC on Eurobricks that isn't for a contest, hope you enjoy! A few people have said that a Modular Hospital would be impossible, but I have had a go. I have tried to stay within the syle and restrictions of the official modular line whilst still keeping the essance of a hospital of this period (1950's/60's). Any constructive feedback is welcome! On the outside, I have attempted to add texture with brickwork and the rod of Asclepius (the snake around the staff) and the date in a similar style to the TH and FB. Parked outside is a period appropriate ambulance. The ground (first) floor has an emergency triage to treat patients, a reception desk and a Doctor's office where a poor woman is getting a booster shot! Details on this floor include a gold statue of the hospital's founder and (not visible in this picture) yellow bins for medical waste. Like the TH, there is an elevator rather than stairs, I prefer stairs, but a lift is more realistic for a hospital and there is not room for both. The middle floor contains the pharamcy, laboratory and X-Ray room. X-Rays are a slight anachronisim, but I couldn't not include them! The top floor is the ward where two patients are recovering. The man has a leg in plaster and the little girl has had her tonsils out, so she has ice cream. Also on this floor is the operating theatre where the surgeon is preparing to operate on a man who appears to be wide awake! Unfortunately there are no sleeping faces! I'm still fine tuning my creation, so I hope to post some updates soom. Sorry for the poor quality pictures, I'm still getting used to things around here! If you like the General Hospital, it is on Lego Ideas.

    Retro Arcade & Games

Hi everyone! I`ve just put my Retro Arcade & Games MOC out at Lego Ideas. This is a design I´ve made by my own and I wanted to catch a kinda middle-1990`s-feeling of games and LAN. My brother founded a Internet Cafe back in 1995 and it was the first place in our town to offer LAN gaming/LAN parties and easy internet access for everyone. PacMan was a 80`s thing and I don`t know about you but I sure played the game a lot into the 90` as well. That is the reason for a potential mismatch. There`s three coin-op machines in the 2nd floor. It`s easy to add more by removing the LANcomputers. I`m born in 1979 so I remember both decades very well and have a lot of good childhood memories. The pictures speak for themselves but I`ve used a 16 x 32 baseplate and the building consist of approx 850 pieces. I think this would be a fun and great addition to any Lego City! https://ideas.lego.com/projects/78146 Thank you

  14. This is my first try in this forum, so bear with me if I'm doing something wrong At some point in 2012, I stumpled upon the Micropolis standard created by members of TwinLUG, and thougt it might be a theme for me. Since then, I have focused my creativity on this, and one of my latest creations is this City Hall: City Hall_2 by Sandman_DK, on Flickr It started with 4 storeys, but seemed kind of small compared to some of my other buildings. So I went for a 5th floor, and the tower also gained some additional heigth. City Hall_1 by Sandman_DK, on Flickr Comments and constructive criticism are welcome

  17. Its a famous old skyscraper in Ljubljana (Slovenia). At the time it was the biggest skyscraper in Europe, 1933. My english isnt so good, so read about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neboti%C4%8Dnik I tried to capture it as good as possible with the number of bricks i had. It was hard, so there is few minifig scale things around it to make it more playable or interesting for an eye. So i think this is the plce for moc insteed of City forums? MOC: Closed food store

A closed food store, that either has been closed for the day or for good. I wanted in this model to try and build in a scale between minifig scale and micro scale. The "Food store" sign and "open daily" sign are custom made.

    MOC Grocery Store

Hey all! First time I'm posting a MOC! I don't have a good camera, so I made the pics with my phone. Forgive me! I wanna show you my grocery store. It's a small corner building in dark colors (mostly black, dark red and dark green). On the outside there are crates of fruits and vegetables, a tree pushing up the stones of the sidewalk, a dumpster around the corner, Chase McCain on patrol, and the entrances to the shop and the apartment above. The roof plates will be replaced with a darker color, I was thinking dark brown or dark gray, but Kristel's suggestion of dark green got me thinking ;) Inside the shop there are stocked shelves, a counter with a scale and a busy shop owner. What you can't see is the refrigerated area across from the counter and the restroom underneath the stairs behind the counter (even though the toilet is basically invisible, I want my buildings to be functional, and a place for the shop owner to lay a brick [badum tsh] is part of that) When we go upstairs, there's an apartment. First level is the kitchen (with toilet and laundry room), second the living room, and third the bedroom and bathroom with a small balcony. I hope y'all like it! I've got some more MOCs I wanna show you when I get the chance! [EDIT] Just a few extra pics I had:

    MOC: 3..2..1..Demolition!

Hi all, This MOC was shown first at the annual Klodsfest, the convention for Danish LUG Byggepladen and won first prize in the category "Small Buildings". In fact, as the video shows, the building starts out fairly large but ends up somewhat smaller. All pictures on Flickr I am not sure how I got this idea, but the final model works pretty much as I imagined initially. Allthough it may look like a simple build, it has been rebuilt several times to get the mechanism to work just right and to keep the building sturdy enough to collapse over and over again. In fact, I spent a long time installing an interior scissor-like mechanism to control the thing remotely and possibly with motors, but I gave up... the building is just to heavy. And the final lift-and-release approach works great. So... what do you think? All comments are welcome. Esben

MOC - Hong Kong Wo Cheong Pawn Shop

From wiki : The four bays of balcony type tenement buildings form a continuous facade verandah facing Johnston Road. It is quite likely that certain parts of the buildings could date from around 1888.The buildings lie on land reclaimed before 1887.In 1966, the Yu Clan purchased the building at 64, Johnston Road and inscribed the Chinese name of The Hong Kong Yu Clansmen Association on the top verandah facade. Woo Cheong Pawn Shop at 66, Johnston Road was originally owned by the Lo family, a well-known local pawnshop trader for over a century. It is my recently MOC historical architecture and join ¡§Build a Wonderful Hong Kong¡¨ Bricks Building contest. I designed it with serveral rooms with the traditional HK scene. The classic HK vehicle and Tram is placed for the decoration. And I got the LEGO and dinner buffet prize from the contest! Luck and Happy! It is the video created by the visitors : Here is the real pawn in HK. You can find more : http://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/和昌大押 http://www.discoverhongkong.com/tc/see-do/culture-heritage/historical-sites/colonial/the-pawn.jsp http://www.thepawn.com.hk/

    Round Office Building

I wanted to add some extra shapes to my city buildings and prefer a modern style of building rather than the more tradtional. I see some nice round office blocks on my daily drive so thought I would try and replicate that. I would have preferred to have a completely mirrored glass exterior, but Lego just doesn't make those pieces, so this is what I came up with. Unlike my normal builds, it is not modular, it would lose all it's strength to be able to separate it easily. It does have two internal floors though which can be removed, which I will build onto so the building isn't empty. The middle floor is trapped in though, as the cross beam support for the floor above it (and for wall integrity) means I can't actually get it out. I have placed my extended GE on one side and modified Pet Shop on the other for comparison, I still haven't worked out where this will go in my City. I don't have my display tables at the moment, but once I get them back I will work something out. As always, comments and ideas for improvement are greatly appreciated
