Hello everyone, I've had these two bridges for quite some time – originally I wanted to wait until more of the surroundings is completed and more cleaned up, bur since the former will still take some time and the latter potentially forever, well, there you are, two moveable bridges: The small one on the left is also supposed to look like a real moveable bridge – hence the non-functional gears: If you'd put enough heavy stuff in the big counterweight box, it might even be possible to open it with a Lego motor. But that wouldn't be fast enough for me when I want to open it, go through, and close it again. :) Opened: Opposite: Fixed part protruding beyond the table due to the curve (had to use a wooden board there). You also see the "socket" for the bridge into which it slides and sits firmly in place. (The yellow and black markings are mostly for me so I don't accidentally hit it...) Bridge no. 2: This one is supposed to look like a fixed bridge, but I need to be able to move it for myself, too, of course. It's handle is the mast on the left, by the way. Note that it was originally a few brick rows lower, but I needed the additional black understructure to keep it from bending down too much. And if that understructure would hang below the (imaginary) water level, it would look too odd... A worker is painting some parts with anti-corrosive paint: (Which is also the excuse for not having enough black L-shaped liftarms...) Quite dangerous to climb around there and doing silly stungs: Luckily, the train passed without hitting the ape suit guy. Opened: Solid connection for this bridge, too: The tracks just sit next to each other – thanks to its connectors, the gap is minimal, and the trains have no problem crossing them. When open, the bridge rests against the reinforced mast here, which is connected with some Technic stuff and enough studs... Note that on this side, the three-stud track gap is closed by halves of flex-track. » A few more photos on Flickr. Comments, praise, and suggestions welcome as always. :)

Lord Brickington was finally back in Albion! He was on his way to see Rex. When he arrived on the outskirts he realized that it would be a busy spring day, thus the main gate would be very crowded. To escape the crowds, Lord Brickington went to a alternative gate known as Gaffon gate. No one but guards and a few Albion citizens were around and he liked that. ______________________________________________________________________________________ Yet another build from me. I will be building all week to make up for the next two coming weeks. Very sorry for the bad editing in the last photo. Enjoy!

Mark of Falworth returned from the Magic Isles with the infuriated Desert Prince, who promptly ordered his lords and vassals to fortify the province from any outside attack. Like many other Loreesi nobles, Mark traveled north to the border of Lenfald. Moving along the river that served as the dividing line between the nations, Mark and his companions found a small and overlooked bridge. One of the knights remarked, "We could destroy this bridge, but then our cavalry would have even fewer places to cross over. Yet if we leave it be, the Lenfels or Garhims could have a whole army over this bridge and into Loreos in a day. What shall we do?" Mark replied with a broad smile. "Change the bridge so that we may cross at any time yet prevent our neighbors from doing the same. " "But how shall we do that?" "I will show you, step by step." A freebuild intro to my LC IX entry. Thanks for viewing and have as great day!

A simple creation depicting the Bifröst Battle at the end of the movie Thor. I rather like how the rainbow turned out, and I think it's the coolest part. “What you seek is a bridge.” “Like, like an Einstein-Rosen Bridge?” “More like a rainbow bridge.” Enjoy ~Nemo

From the album: Rialto Bridge
Probably the most visited and most photographed bridge in Venice, (Ponte di Rialto) opened in 1591.Connecting the districts of San Polo and San Marco across the Grand Canal in the heart of the city, the Rialto Bridge has always been a busy crossing over the canal. The bridge is formed by two inclined ramps covered by a portico with shops on either side. This area has long been a market place for Venetians and Tourists.© Anu Pehrson
