Slipwave is a heavily modified racing boat constructed by a team of MANTIS marine engineers and special forces agents on Sorn. The need to ensure critical MANTIS operations could continue following the planet's capture by Kawashita, the team developed a craft both fast and quiet by levitating the rear engine section out of the water and propelling it with an extra pair of anti-gravity engines mounted at 90 degrees. Compared to more traditional aquatic propulsion methods, the anti-grav engines are less powerful than hydro-jets and less responsive than propellors but with such a small displacement, resistance from the water is minimised allowing them deliver comparable power-to-weight ratios. The overdrive boosters positioned amidships burn Nitronium Oxide to super heat the anti-matter in the repulsers and provide more power but the system overheats quickly, utilising two dump-valves on each side to expel unburnt fuel and heat when the anti-matter reaches critical temperatures. The rear is suspended by two angled anti-matter repulsers which also steer the craft. The front-end maximised aero and hydro-dynamicity by reducing displacement and air/water resistance. My next entry into the Space Olympic Games, for the Boat category: The Awkward Turtle Designed to allow the driver to see what's under him in the water, this unique boat provides great visibility in all directions for enhanced tactical planning during a race. It barely fits within 10x20, but it does fit.

Hey there, first post to the Town forum. Thought I would share a Lego sailboat model I made in approximate minifig scale. It is based on a Benetau Cyclades 43.4 The inspiration for this was watching the sailing journey of La Vagabonde https://www.youtube....LjIzFnWsDQOv4ww The sails can be rolled out and are made out of a plastic bag. In the year 2561, a gas giant exists known as R7-55, or Gelo. The planet is inhabited by a rag tag society of aliens from across the galaxy, living on towns built on small low-orbiting asteroids in the planets sea-like gases. However, only an approximate 700,000 people live on the planet, spread out among the surface, making economy difficult. So what most inhabitants do to make money, is build boat-like transporters designed to "float" across waves of gasses. These are used to transport goods between towns, and look like this: (sorry you can see my finger in this photo.) These "boats" bring and trade goods at trade stores. You can make a trade right through an open window, or you can also buy something inside the shop while your transporter is being loaded. Transporters are created by building a hull out of pretty much any material you can get your hands on, then adding a "mast",with some pieces of fabric to catch the wind. Engines usually consist of a few gas tanks connected to a compression chamber, to create a small (or large) flame to propel the transporter through the gasses. A rudder is always added for steering, and occasionally an extra fin or two for stability. While most transporters are relatively small, this is the largest transporter ever built, owned by Arnold Henderson and is wife. In this picture, it's docking with Dragon Traders, the planets most successful trade shop. The trade shop is so successful, it had a crane built in 2558 so it could load larger amounts of goods in faster time. The transporter has been designed to go longer distances and hold more cargo, the engine is significantly larger, and also carries a water tank and a generator for the on board cabin. Even though the engine is much larger, you can still see the similarities it has with the other much smaller transporter. here you can see the ships cabin, and its detailed interior. I had some trouble getting a good roof with my peices, so it's a little flimsy. You can see my design though. Sometimes pickup trucks ship out goods to other planets. This is an old one way back from 2234! And here are some shots from inside Dragon Traders. Here you can see the shop level of the trade store. Funny, I thought they stopped selling alien weapons. And for fun here are some goods that are often shipped between towns. Gold, warp crystals, and carbon rods. And always, a transporter operator should be aware of the unpredictable lighting storms that happen in the planets gassy layers, as they can easily knock a transporter off course. hope you enjoyed the post, Th3_Br1ck_Kid

First off, I just want to say this set is apparently VERY popular, (and for very good reason!) as I tried in May to get one and the LEGO store was out for a long while. I finally got the second-to-last one on double points VIP points day on the 7th of this month. The following post is not a perfect analysis, but I thought I'd show off what I did to the contents of this set as no reviews are out yet.... though this is NOT a review! This vessel is a slightly modified set 30152,( Weekend Getaways). I removed the tall poles serving as radio transmitters / receivers plus I added a surplus reverse tile to the bridge's computer to keep it stable. The inside is the same as the stock set, with cup rack, stove, sink, tables and chairs. The rear porch and front bedroom are also the same as designed. The ship is incredibly light - more than my similar sized Adventurers tugboat and I would highly recommend it for it's play-ability and cool looks. The rear awning just oozes coolness, and is the one spot where I screwed up. (The fabric holes are just big enough to go onto the pins, not between them and the frame as I originally thought. I nearly tore it taking it apart again, but luckily I did not!) This model was made from leftover parts of set the C model of 30152 (Weekend Getaways) and several pieces from my own LEGO collection. I modified the original design to have four lights for navigation and a gray engine instead of a white one as used in the set. The model seats one figure and has barely enough room for a single standing passenger. ....that's about all I have in regards to this set comments-wise. [MOC] RC Airboat (that doesn't float!)

Hi there! For my next MOC I wanted to do something different. I chose a RC Air Propelled Boat as it has some interesting functionality with the big propeller and the flaps at the back. As I love building things that move around, the boat can drive and steer as well (on wheels). Steering while going forwards works like a car driving backwards. Thus steering while driving backwards is a bit unrealistic for a boat. Everything is scaled around the propeller, so I built the propeller setup first, then steering, drive & clutch, battery & lights then bodywork. I started off by using a lot of gears throughout the boat, however it was creating issues so I streamlined it as best I could using chains. I was also happy to finally add a clutch to one of my builds. Please note that this model doesn't float or is actually air powered. It would sink like a stone and destroy all PF components :) Features - 2x L motors at 1:1.67 - 1x Servo - functional propeller when driven - functional flaps when steered - functional door - clutch - battery access on side - working lights - 42Lx19Wx24H (in studs) - 1003g The design is fairly basic and there's no interesting connections throughout the build, but it ended up looking half decent. It's not based on anything specific, which made the design process easier. I would have preferred running the L motors at 1:3, but it was struggling a bit to move. The servo stopped working halfway through this build so I have no video to show yet. I need to wait for lego to send a replacement. Instructions will be up on Rebrickable eventually. Ready for an incredible journey on the Mississippi aboard the vessel "Mississippi Princess"? The paddlewheel steamboat has 4 bridges: -The lowest includes sessions for passengers, a sofa and the engine room with the 10-cylinder diesel engine 20000HP -The first deck includes 1 suite, 1 double, 1 twin bedroom, 1 shared bathroom and the emergency room and service. All cabins have windows with portholes. The bathroom has a toilet, sink and shower. The second deck is home to the central control of the funnels and the terrace He sees the presence of a service area equipped with 2 high power LED headlamp for lighting at night and "the BELL ". The last deck on the other hand has a small rooftop and the cockpit. The control center is equipped with radar, sonar and computer. The vessel is equipped with two drawbridges for the boarding and alighting of passengers, both controlled by articulating arms and driven by pulleys. In navigation access to drawbridges it is controlled by gates. The paddlewheel is equipped with 8 blades for pushing. Location: B06, Sorn Tags: Water Vehicle, Vehicle, Job: Driver Start Log: Stationed on Sorn to patrol the waters, I got to use a MANTIS ski-boat which is quite a fun ride! Plenty of speed and maneuverability, plus some serious firepower. I was messing around with the black ski parts and liked how they looked in a diamond shape, so decided to use them as skis for the boat. The windshield opens to allow access to the cab, and the propeller spins. The water design is made using only 2×2 round plates. Comments and suggestions welcome

This summer the Tall Ships Races (races for sail training sailing ships) comes to my hometown Fredrikstad in Norway. One of the participating ships is Christian Radich, a norwegian ship with Oslo as it's homeport. I have used the winter to digitally build this ship in 1:60 scale, and I'm now in the final stages of completing it in real bricks. Hopefully I will be done before the ship arrives in Fredrikstad 12th of July. The model will then be displayed in one of the exhibition halls close to where Christian Radich is located during the event. Here is a photo of the real ship, and below it is pictures from the building progress. I will continue to update this topic as I'm building.

After some time around these newly explored islands we noticed that some stronger defence on the water would be needed; many Sea Rats and even some unidentified creatures which attacked our man on their small boats were around and causing our man to lose confidence that it would be a good idea to stay around these islands. Some even said they were cursed. This made it clear that we need more to defend our island than just a few man with sticks in rowboats. I decided it would be a good idea to sent a letter to one of the best shipbuilders of Eslandola if he were interested in building some sloops to defend the area. He agreed to the contract and went ahead to build this one; I've named it Arkady for its wild nature and, for its size, good armament. It even has some space to carry along some goods, which I really appreciate. Hereby I present you, Arkady, a class 2WR sloop: I sure hope his aggressive bow keeps those Sea Rats under control! And lastly, a picture of Arkadys starboard side: Not exactly relevant for this challenge, but I still feel like it is relevant, the Arkady with the rest of my fleet (including the HMS Kent/War Dwarf which is now owned by Bregir). [WIP] Amphibious Sherp 4x4

After skyping with a good friend of mine braker23 he gave me an idea to make A sherp 4x4. Here's the real deal: It took me an hour to make a first protoype in LDD, which you can see here: As you can see everything is built around the boat hull, so that the model can also float like the real thing. And here's the first rough build in the water: I used track elements wrapped around tumbler wheels to get the paddle shape. I will need 4 more track elements since 2 can fit with ease on each wheel: Underside you can see the reinforcments keeping the boat hull secured: So far there are soem problems with 36 tooth gears skipping under high torque which I belive I can fix by using 8L axles with stop instead of current 5,5 ones. If that doesnt help I can always use small turntables. I also need 4 more tracks, but currently I spent all my money on parts for silverfox and oshkosh 10x10, so these will ahve to wait a bit. I very surprised on how well this thing floats, but it cannot support much more weight, so the bodywork will have bo light and basic in order to keep it from sinking. Whats your opinion guys? -

Since C-model contest began I was thinking about building something BIG but I wasn't sure if I finish it in time. So I've built this little pull-back trike to get "plan B" and then immediatelly began working on my second alternative model out of set 9394. I wanted to be the first who rebuilds this jet plane into boat but izorn was bit faster... So my alternate is hovercraft. Its main feature is quite unique steering. It turns just pair of rudders instead of whole propeller as you can see among official hovercraft models. This is list of all functions: three wheels chassis front axle drives propeller rear axle "HOG" steering that also turns pair of rudders opening windscreen steering wheel and adjustable seat in cab This is mechanism inside - green is steering and red is drive for propeller 41 left over parts And there are few pictures from building process bellow: I began with prototype of rear axle to check steering performance. Then I built the most difficult part of model - crossing of drive and steering axles. And this was first prototype of model. More pictures

My story For this modular (creator) building was that the Boat Repair Shop is based for a creation to fit in the Sea front Village. I built this one on Lego Digital Designer (LDD). I really believe that this model could have a lot of genuine interest for fans of my Sea front Village sets. This is the second of a series of modular (creator} buildings that I will be submitting. The idea was to use also the ferry of a near town (Caminha, north of Portugal - google pics) as a source of inspiration, mainly in the color scheme and overall shape. Using his skiff the Gee Golly Dandy Pierre takes his wares to town each week. His boat is perfect for sailing along the coast, but Pierre fears losing sight of land in his small craft. This skiff is built for the Monthly Commerce and Raiding Action(MCRA) and is small enough for a free licence. Enemies of Oleon beware, because the Gee Golly Dandy will be out and... running to port! The Gift Ship Hello all, nice to meet you! Here is my entry for the Winter Village contest. The Gift Ship! Sometimes Santa and the elves like to get out of the shop and take boat ride around the Winter Village. They go sailing around fishing for gifts and sharing them with children around the coasts. The Gift Ship comes complete with wrapping stations with ribbon and tape, rolls of wrapping paper, AND, get this, GIFTS! I wanted to make something convertible since I feel like the past WV could give the option for closing up the backs without sacrificing a lot and increase play value and display options. I also felt that while always awesome the locomotives have been stealing the spotlight away from other perfectly good forms of transportation! I had much more planned but unfortunately I only had last night to work on this and things escalated pretty quickly in the building department. Over the years, the design, aesthetics, and performance of commuter yachts became more refined, and a number of yacht-building firms distinguished themselves as specialists at producing commuters. To meet their clients' exacting demands, these yards designed exceptionally fast yachts that were also elegant and beautiful--and of these specialist yards, none had a finer pedigree or was more closely identified with commuters than the Consolidated yard of City Island, New York. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- at 66 studs long and 13 studs wide, this was quite the interesting build for me. The Mohican does have a full interior, but I have yet to take photos of it, so I'll have to edit this topic later when I do. The real Mohican, perfectly restored, is currently for sale in Italy, but it's sadly far above my current price range, so I'll just have to settle for this model. Hello! I'm sure, that everyone has already heard about that technique, when we use only 1x2 plates or bricks to creat curves. I wanted to try it, too. The result is here with 100+ 1x2 bricks, 50+ 1x2 plates and a fully detailed interior! At first please look at my previous sailboat. It was interesting to see the difference between them. In the old one there are a boat hull of a Lego set. Now it was very cool that I didn't have fixed dimensions! The boat has some interesting features and building techniques. My favourite one is the brickbuilt mast. There are four sections in it: -2x2 round bricks -1x1 bricks with stud on four sides and 1x1 round plates with holes on the studs, covered by 1x8 tiles -1x1 high bricks -1x1 round bricks Fortunately all of the elements has hole, so it was possible to put technic axles and bars or rigid hoses into them. Hi, the NC-4 was a flying boat, manufactured by the Curtiss Aeroplane and Motor Company in Buffalo, NY. In May 1919 it became the first aircraft to fly across the Atlantic Ocean. I really like the design of this plane and so I built it in the LDD. Here are the pics: Best Vaionaut

The shipwrecked twins (from 70409 x2) decided it was about time to stop being targets for the imperials' amusement and their cannons. So they broke free from the island, by scraping a small boat off some shipwreck pieces (and some foraging inside some small shoe boxes). Which version do you like (bow-wise)??
