[COR-FB] Arriving at Mooreton Bay (Collab Part III)

The next part of our collab for CH IV. (Although this is not an entry, but just a freebuild.) Prior builds: In The Captain's Cabin Pieces Of A Puzzle Following builds: Undercover for the Final Piece Montoya was not at ease. This tiny little vessel was dancing up and down the waves, rushing close-hauled towards Mooreton bay in a most haphazard fashion, and his stomach was not agreeing with him. "Tell me again why I find myself on this fragile little death-trap. The Athena seemed a perfectly fine transport…" he gasped. "The Athena would have taken day and night to tack in here against the wind. And as I am certain you are aware, Ferguson signalled for me to report on board the Ironsides without a moments delay!" Cooke shouted against the wind. As they had approached Mooreton Bay, the lookout had spotted the horrible old Ironsides in the port and, moments later, the signal flags requiring Cooke to report on board for orders from the Admiralty. And for a naval officer, nothing was more important than orders from the Admiralty. "But surely, my friend, this haphazard pace is both dangerous and unwarranted?" Cooke laughed, thrilled with their speed and the prospect of new orders: "Tide and wind waits for no man, my friend!" The Dolfijn The socalled "death-trap" was a small Altonian privateering sloop named the Dolfijn, captured off Tiberia, as it was attacking some local fishermen. It had proven a flyer close-hauled, and Cooke had decided to keep it as a tender to the Athena, a decision he could never have been happier about right now. "But have no fear, doctor - in a moment we will be moored and you will have firm ground under your feet once more!" Cooke knew the doctor as something of a landlubber. "And while you go meet Major Allcock and discuss your beetles, I will meet with Ferguson and find out what orders the admiralty has seen fit to give me! And you may let the good Major know that I will seek him out at first possible convenience." he said, letting the sloop come up against the wind, steering her for the wharf at the customs office. Hello! I just wanted to show you my minor (tiny) modification on the City set 4200 Mining 4x4, which i made a few years back. I would like to continue work on this, and change the black bar 1x4x2 part with a yellow, or red one. Might put the yellow longboard on the car somehow. Maybe you could help me out a little! Thanks! Here's a Beach Buggy I made for an upcoming truck trial this weekend. This trial only has a few rules: Use 62.4 wheels, 2 motors for propulsion max and 1 for steering. It's based on Zblj's "Blue" suspension, drive and steering, modified to fit my beach buggy/trial needs. It features 4 wheel drive and steering. Was a little bit of work to work with the bright green from only 1 Le Mans set. Forgot to make a picture with the suspension pressed. Might make it tomorrow (bad lighting now). It looks pretty sweet with it compressed. The rear wheelarches look like they hug the wheels (a stud or so of space left between wheel and wheelarch). The car bottoms out with the suspension fully compressed. Here you can see how much I stole from Zblj. I only changed the type of suspension arms, slightly altered the steering mechanism and placed my motors differently for a lower look. (ignore my Lego tripod in the bottom right) Thank you for your time.

Hello everyone, I was Inspired by a couple of sets I had when I was a child - Breezeway Cafe - 6376 and Sand Dollar Cafe - 6411. The colour combinations used were cheerful and I always wished I had bricks using the colours of the Sand dollar baseplate in particular! Thanks to the 'friends' theme for bringing more choice of bricks in lighter colours I can create something I've had in mind for sometime now. The main part I wanted to use was the large curved window pieces which I purchased a while back. The ground floor houses a bicycle and surf board rental shop and the Paradisa cafe bar area, the upstairs lifts off in one piece and has more seating for a great sea view! No parrots included, although I have added the much loved seagull, a splash of pink and the usual palm-tree. I would have loved to have done a fully rendered background in the style of Paradisa but don't have the know how so I've simply used a couple of the typical colours. [pid][/pid] 251B Hello again ! I had not wrote a new thread here since months ... The blame for this has been what I brought in hand from about makes about 6 - 8 months... I present to you this diorama seen at LEGO Catbrick Event in Barcelona. The Fortress of Santa Catalina, located in Puerto Rico, in the heart of the Caribbean. Erected in the sixteenth century, was the first fortification built to defend the city of San Juan and the first in a series of military forts. Construction was authorized by King Carlos I of Spain as a protection against the attacks of indians, corsairs and pirates. Eastern tower section. Jungle and river. Pirate prisioner on courtyard. For its construction I used about 35,000 pieces. In theory it is not right either a MOC, I should label it as a WIP, because the original project is a quarter of a much larger diorama than this. This portion, is 6 x 4 baseplates and the final project will occupy 12 x 8 baseplates. Gradually I will try to finish it. I 'm uploading to flickr the rest of the gallery, so I recommend that you see there the rest of photos and see the details. Here's my entry to the small category of the PTV contest. The pirates used the cliff as a convenient method of murder...On the ground below, spears served to impale any enemies thrown off the cliff.... Of course, occasionally a body might miss the spears... This was a fun build; it was interesting to try building with a size restriction (which I don't normally do). I've been slowly working on this build for over a month, and I'm quite satisfied with how it turned out, especially the cliff. The idea of the blood flowing into the water is something I've been wanting to do for a while (although it was a last-minute addition). I don't actually have any pirates sets, so making the minifigures was pretty tricky; I think they look reasonably decent, though. Enjoy!

Location: E02 - Jurin II Tags: civil, vehicle, water vehicle, exploration --Weekly Explorer's Transmission-- --Log of Eagle-Eye Silver-- -- 28 Junali 3815-- After all the hard work last month, we explorers deserve a vacation! Thankfully, the new 1st Branch Executive is now John Hannibal and he sent us to Jurin II in the E02 sector. This planet is amazing! It’s got the best fishing I’ve seen since I arrived in this galaxy through the Gates and the Awesomnium is really easy to pick up. So easy that I filled the boat’s holds with samples so fast that MERC (Mediocre Exploration and Recovery Companion) and I decided to break out the rum, catch some fish and have an old fashioned beach cookout! We found a small island so MERC set up the comms dish and the grill while I took care of the fishing and rum. It’s so nice here that if the comms unit starts making noise, we might just ignore it…. --End-- Another angle on Flickr, C&C appreciated!

- Log of Agent G - - I have recently arrived on the planet designated A05, or more commonly known as Yallorn II. The flora resembles a typical jungle environment, but the ocean that surrounds each island seems to cool the land, therefore eliminating the hot and sweaty aspect of the jungle. This also allows for some interesting insects and animals. I've reached the edge of one of the larger of the many islands, and am proceeding to inspect the nature of the water. Last weekend was my Norwegian LUG's annual event, På Kloss Hold. This year we held a contest where we each built a 16x16 section of a beach (within some standard parameters). Coming out of an experiment of how to create a decent beach design, the beach suddenly found itself crowded - somehow looking interesting. Hi all, I've been wanting to build a Lego city for a very long time, ever since I started watching YouTube videos on people's cities and thinking 'I wish I could do that', then I moved into my own house and the dream became a reality! It took a while between deciding to do it and actually doing it, mainly because I had no idea how to do it and which route to take. I wasn't too keen on having an 'urban' looking city, nothing against them (and the majority of those I've seen are incredible) but I wanted something more cheery and relaxing. In the end, I decided to model my city on a Spanish holiday destination where I used to go when I was younger; it had everything I wanted to build: beach, walkway, palm trees, restaurants, and lots more little bits and pieces that'd make for an interesting build. For my first build I wanted to do something relatively simple (which later turned out NOT to be simple) so I chose to do the 'hub' of the whole scene: the beach. http://s1373.photobu...html?sort=3&o=0 The wall was the tricky (or time consuming) part - initially I build the whole structure with a one stud overlap, and meant to form a 'lip' on the top of the wall for baseplates to be slotted nicely on top and held together with tiles. This was all well and good until I realised it would be impossible to move the finished town if I kept it in that layout, so I changed to a modular method: I plan to raise the whole city to be level with the walls of the beach, and connect it all using technic pins. It's a costly method, and maybe a bit overkill, but I'll be the easiest way to allow the town to be mobile. I'm wanting to finish the beach before I start work on another main part, and need a mountain of tan 4 x 4 plates and trans light blue 1 x 2 plates, the latter of which is very expensive for its size (maybe my luck will come in and it'll appear on a pick-a-brick wall...) but my side project for this - the part that I need help with - is the furniture for the beach: lilos, deck chairs, umbrellas, tables etc. If anyone's made or seen anything like that (or has any suggestions of what else could go on the beach), I'd very much enjoy seeing it! [pid][/pid] 253C Built for the Jolly Roger Contest on Forbidden Cove. I've been wanting to build a coast scene with cliffs for a while now, the JRC gave me the incentive I needed to finally do it. The pirates had just dug up a large cache of treasure when a Redcoat ship spotted them from the sea. The ship quickly dispatched two rowboats full of soldiers to attack the pirates. Will the pirates be able to successfully defend their new-found treasure? Or will the soldiers capture the treasure for His Majesty? Check out more pictures here: link C&C appreciated

As contracted by Loreesi hero Mark of Falworth, the Outlaw Captain Claw and his crew "visits" the Lenfald coast, specifically an unsuspecting village close to the shore. Two Outlaws tagged along as unofficial members of Claw's crew: blade-wielding brawler Lute the Brute and crossbow-wielding archer Arrowhead. The village is by no means defenseless: After the Obsidian Seawing arrived, a group of Lenfaldi sentinels sprung into action.

Hi everyone, here is my latest creation, the Cocoa hotel. I got my inspiration from old postcards showing hotels and other buildings in bright holiday settings. The postcards are perhaps a little unrealistic but definitely bold, fun and there's always a blue sky! I chose to base the build mostly on the Carlyle hotel which still exists to this day as I had the bricks to achieve it. It's not an exact copy, most reference material to the colour shows it's been changed several times, so I chose to go with beach colours which I had a decent amount of. I have made many changes to the design but wanted to keep the 3 vertical columns as a focal point. I wanted to do a little more landscaping and make the build with more depth as opposed to height like my previous building 'Avenue Saint-Jacques'. I liked the idea of having a drop-off driveway and a large veranda but this is not necessarily an accurate reflection of what you may see in reality. I never wanted to leave it empty so have furnished all 3 floors. Downstairs there is a lobby, lounge and bar. Upstairs has 4 suites with individual bathrooms. How better to relax on a summer afternoon than with a burger, fries, and a drink, overlooking a sandy beach? This build was a bit of a challenge, as it's actually two different parts, so I had to do quite a lot of experimentation with the camera angle, height of the balcony, distance, etc (and in the end, I ended up using one of the first photos...). SNOT sand and water can be pretty tough too, especially since I didn't have quite as much blue as I had hoped. Hope you enjoy it, comments welcome!
