  1. Blacktron is back! Hello from Italy! Tonight I share my latest build: a big, bad and totally black armoured personnel carrier. It's based on U-59 Explosive Truck from Joe 90, a 1960s British science-fiction television series created by Gerry and Sylvia Anderson (the same producers of U.F.O. It's called B-59 where B stands for Blacktron, in fact this six-wheel APC is the new and lethal groud vehicle of Blacktron. The little ATV on the right is based on the Amphicat, a six-wheel-drive, skid steer amphibious all-terrain vehicle manufactured in the '60s by Mobility Unlimited Inc. of Auburn Hills, Michigan. The Amphicat was also used by Moonbase Alpha personnel in the television series Space: 1999. Back view and tank entrance. The interior with many details. This time thanks - to a friend of mine who is a pro-filmmaker - I produced a presentation video of the B-59. Below on YT. I hope you like it. Thanks for stopping by! B-59 on flickr.
  2. So this is my latest tank. It is a development of my previous tank, the Blacktron Liberator. The Liberator is very fast and fun to play with, but it also has plenty of shortcomings. With this build I tried to eliminate those shortcomings and at the same time be a little more purist: the only non-LEGO item in this build is a Buwizz brick. However this tank is not controlled by the Buwizz app. Instead I've tested @imurvai's BrickController app with this MOC (see video). And that proved to be a very positive experience. Ever since I've been playing around with Sbricks and Buwizz bricks one thing (well more than one thing to be honest) has bothered me, and that is the lack of any physical feedback. When I am playing with a MOC I am usually looking at it, not at the app on my smartphone. And so it can easily happen that my fingers lose touch with the controls without meaning to. This is totally not an issue when using a gamepad :). The MOC is powered by 2 XL motors for drive and 2 M motors for rotation, elevation and shooting. Functions: - Working torsion-bar suspension - Shooting; - Driving; - Turret rotation; - Gun elevation; Very roomy tank for minifigs :) Of course I've also made a video: Hope you will like it!

The Epsilon Falcon was created and worked to fill the rapid deployment and mutli-role fighter but lacked the range and firepower. The Hive Fighter was commissioned to fill the role. The vertical design was to allow for a decreased footprint in docking bays and orbital drop ships. With a crew of two, the Hive Fighter has proven to be valuable asset against attacking forces. Disclaimer.. this is my first post.
  6. Just passing time with LDD and I somehow created a Blacktron III shadow speeder. (I think it was inspired by the Snow and Sand Speeder sets, such as 75204) The wings on the rear were exchanged for more menacing Batman ones, and the colors of the fold-opening windscreens changed to trans-yellow. The ship is 100% build-able, and would feature a printed 2 x 2 curved slope with the "B" from this online store called Brick Builder's Pro The rear of the ship features the engines and invisibility device cooling fins. Both canopies open up to place figures inside. The needed figures would be the Rench alien figure's suit from SP3, with the new Nexo Knights heads from this year's energy Vampire baddies and the helmet from Series 10 Paintball player CMF. Any thoughts on this idea?

    Newbie request for advice

Hello everybody, I'm new here. At nearly 36 years of age I've become an AFOL, I guess, when I rediscovered the delightful Lego-sets my parents gave me in my younger days. Please excuse me if this (kind of) thread already exists or if I needed to post this elsewhere on the forum. In an attempt to prep a nice little Lego-assortment for my sons (the eldest is only 3 and a half and too young still) I bought three little M-Tron-sets to go with the 6812 (Blacktron) Grid Trekkor and the 6831 Message Decoder I already had (I should have SP II Rebel Hunter too, but I can't find it at the moment). The initial idea was to form a large enough 'space' vehicle pool of both sides + some Space Police for them to be able to make up some play scenes. But I've now begun to wonder wheter the Blacktron-M-Tron-Space Police would actually (still) appeal to youngsters nowadays. I still think the colour scheme of respectively black-white and red(black)white) and the neon green parts are just perfect and make for great looking sets. In comparison to the modern Ninjago-sets or Nexo Knights-sets, for example, the 'classic' space sets might not be 'interesting' enough anymore in this day and age. I guess I'm asking the parent-members if they have any recent experience with their children still appreciating the 'old' Space-sets (Blacktron, M-Tron, Space Police). A second part of my question is about the playability of (these older) Space-sets: by that I mean that I can't provide convincingly built 'bases' for the kids; building Blacktron, M-Tron bases would require loads of speciality pieces. In comparison to the City-theme, it's not as easy to build scenery for them to play in. I have a limited amount of bricks (in comparison to many avid AFOLs) and certainly in terms of speciality space pieces (neon green stuff, special baseplates etc.). I'd very much appreciate any of your views on this. Thanks

    Alienator Redux (MOC)

Internal report: Alienator-type Units Organization: Blacktron Its purpose is causing an unignorable distraction so as to allow the strike force it carries to sneak into secure locations while local forces are occupied dealing with the vehicle. Its heavy armaments are capable of dealing significant damage to most forms of armor, and its thick plating and layered reinforcement makes it difficult to damage. Usually crewed by one armored trooper and two pilots, one of which is redundant and as such is usually part of the strike force. Equipment contained on an average Alienator-type unit is wire cutters, grappling equipment, welding tools and a hand-held circular saw, along with a variety of weapons and in units planned for long-term deployment (although it must be stated that due to their large and noticeable appearance, long term in this context refers to periods of at most 1-2 days), rations. The displayed example's armory included one small plasma pistol, one recoil-neutralized handheld railgun, a blade suited for underhand wielding, and a bashing/disarming ring upon recovery. Play features: removable roof, windshield opens, classic shuffle-walk mechanism, deployable ladder and ball joint mounted stud shooter turrets. This one was rather fun to make. I stole the foot design from Nexo Knights' Stone Colossus, and while I initially planned to make the legs flexible enough to walk normally, once I realized that I could actually use the classic mechanism I just had to. Of course, this is entirely unbuildable in real life due to the fact that I built this with little to no regard for the availability of certain pieces in certain colors. I just really wanted to make something focused mostly on aesthetics. Gallery LXF download (once public)

    Blacktron Rectifier

A drone unit for dealing with other drone units that are far too cute and popular for their own good. "These Turtle units are too common-place, and too heavily armed. They've become a problem, a problem that requires... Rectification."
  11. After getting reinvested into the LEGO Blacktron theme with the Scouttrax, Trooptrax and Liberator ground vehicles, it was a given that I also had to build a Blacktron spaceship, Spaceship, SPACESHIP!!! I wanted something big like a command ship but not so big that I would have to spend a small fortune on Bricklink. So I opted for a frigate class ship. This is the Blacktron Blackbird a Blacktron C3 (command, control and communications) frigate. Designed to act as a forward HQ for an AO (area of operations). As most ships in the Blacktron fleet, it is fast, heavily armed and cool looking as hell. It has two modes of operation. It's standard cruise mode in which the ship is one long sleek craft. And then it has a battle mode in which the front cockpit detaches and acts as a multipurpose fighter/bomber. The fighter is called the Wasp it has a variable-sweep wing which can be completely folded backwards. When the fighter detaches the main ship is controlled from a secondary cockpit slightly farther back. It is not difficult to see where the inspiration for this build came from, I think. It had two main sources of inspiration the first obvious being the Lockheed SR-71. The second is a bit more obscure but I hope fan of the Star Trek universe will still notice it. Have to say I had a lot of fun making this build and also making some of the images. All my other MOCs since my dark age rely heavily on LEGO Technic, all of them are remote controlled. This is quite the opposite. Hardly any technic involved here. Nor any complex mechanisms so I was able to fully enjoy the design process, which was a lot smoother than normal. Still planning to expand my Blacktron forces further. BT4EVER!! For more pictures please check my Flickr page: https://www.flickr.com/photos/33425520@N07/albums

    [MOC] Cutlass Blacktron

Hey Eurobricks space! Posting my second MOC to this site. I really like to focus on playability and would love to hear your feedback on my designs :) This one is based on the Cutlass Black from the upcoming Star Citizen game. Though I do not play the game's current alpha, I love some of the art concepts. In the Star Citizen lore, the Cutlass Black is the model of Cutlass ship ideal for pirating - a balance of guns, maneuverability, and storage. A conveniently named model to be employed by Lego's leading space antagonists! Rugged jack-of-all trades. Armed with two smaller front guns and two pivotable cannons for the gunner on top with fully pivoting powerful engines. I really wanted to make the top turret spinnable, but adding that function would have taken the main gunner area further out of scale. I settled with pivoting up or down and giving the gunner access to the station from the main hold. The ammo boxes for the main guns seemed like a good place for a hit of yellow. I went through a few iterations on the front cockpit, this combo felt appropriate for a narrow but tall front area. I had a lot of the black 8x4 wing pieces from my childhood and felt that this would be a good opportunity to use them for the "belly" shaping of the ship. Really wanted to incorporate functional landing gear and compact axles felt appropriate. I wanted to get some playability in the engines and went with a gearbox rotating them in opposite directions, accessible from the rear middle of the ship. I felt this captures the feel of a very maneuverable craft which excels at dogfighting despite having a decently sized cargo hold. Plenty of space inside, even to take a nap. The side panels include rotating thrusters and removable for easy access. Blacktron mercenary team left to right: Earl the Engineer armed with laser cutter for breaching spacecraft during pirating. Sniper Stacey takes care of those pesky defense drones and spacewalking troops deployed by a target ship. Wally the Warlord bosses everyone around, worries about finances, and holds a ceremonial weapon. Assault Andy armed with a shield, laser shotgun, and intimidating helmet. First one clearing rooms during a breaching operation. Heavy Weapons Helga armed with rocket launcher and heavy machine laser for when things get dicey inside a target ship.
  13. Hi everyone! I was thinking about a potential future LEGO Space theme. I thought something like Space Police IV vs. Blacktron III would be nice! I also thought about using a modular system. This meant the cockpit and the ship bodies (along with potentially other parts) were connected but could be separated. With more sets bought, you could have variety in your spaceships. Today I have the first spaceship. It is a Blacktron III spaceship, contains 197 parts, and would retail for $19.99 USD, £17.99 GBP, and $39.99 NZD The Blacktron trooper is getting away! Deploy the Space Police officer with his special jetpack in hot pursuit! Stop her from stealing the precious rocks!! Set comes with swiveling cannons, stud shooters, opening crate with storage, and spring-loaded shooters. Cockpit also opens! Separate the ship into modules! Combine the modules with your other sets to create new spaceships! Also swap around the cannon positions to suit your wishes! Thanks for looking VaderFan2187 out!

    PM2X Explorer

My first entry for the Color It Blacktron Contest over on Flickr. The idea is to make any build you want, whether that be in Castle, Pirates, Space, Town, etc. but build it using Blacktron colors. This was quite enjoyable to make, and started with the cockpit, when I realized the tracks would hold them together pretty well. It took a little patience to get the driver/controls in, but I like how it turned out. More pictures on Brickbuilt Thanks for looking, C&C welcome

    [MOC] Blacktron "Liberator" MBT

This is my Blacktron “Liberator” main battle tank (MBT). It was designed to be the backbone of the Blacktron land forces. It is a relatively small and fast attack vehicle with heavy armaments, capable of devastating hit-and-run attacks. At the moment it is just a prototype being field tested but as soon as this design enters full production Blacktron HQ expects to be able to take the initiative once again. Had a lot of fun playing with this MOC so far. I think it's a worthy addition to my small Blacktron army :)

[MOC] SHIP AT-43 ...and a sad story

Last September I started building this SHIP for the 2016`s SHIPtember and for my LUG exhibition in Braga city in October ! I finished it on the 29th , I just needed to take the photos and publish !! Day 30/9 ....my world collapsed ! My father had just discovered that he had a brain tumor. Worse!! Days later the worst case scenario was confirmed, the tumor was a metastasis of lung cancer ... no cure possible ! Passed away quietly on the January 4th !! Now it's time to return to (ab)normality ! The SHIP was stored in a corner of my garage the last 4 months and every time I looked at her, I felt sad !! So.... this weekend goes to my "space yard" to be dismantled, without having been premiered AT-43 ....AT because of the initials of my father's name (but could also be by Attack Transport) , and the 43 for the year he was born ! I hope you enjoy More photos at my FLICKR

[M-G02] Relic From An Old War

Location: G02 Freegate Tags: Land Vehicle, Spaceship, Military building - - Hawk: Nice to finally meet you. Our mutual friend tells me you found something that might be of interest to MANTIS. Gerik: You can call me Gerik. I am the leader of the Junk rats. Dax didn't tell me you were MANTIS. I suppose your credits are still good though. - Gerik: Well here she is. Captain: Is that what I think it is? Gerik: That there is a genuine Allied avenger. She's seen better days though. Captain: Hawk, if the Space Police ever found us with this they would put us in a four by four cell for sure. Your not really going to buy this are you? Hawk: Captain, have your men load it onto the trailer.
  20. This is my Blacktron fast Scouttrax. You may have seen a WIP topic about it some months ago. This is the end product. It is inspired by the 6941 which was one of my favorite sets when I was a kid. It is also the first wheeled vehicle I've build since my 'dark age'. I've been working on this for a while now, abandoning the project several times because I couldn't get it to work as I had imagined it. Specifically the steering mechanism. The steering technique that I was trying to recreate was something I had seen on TV. The basic idea is that when a wheeled vehicle goes into a corner, the main cabin will lean into the corner, a bit like a motorcycle. This style of steering has many benefits for high speed vehicles. For one, the g-forces on the driver and passengers are much more pleasant. But it also helps with getting better traction on the road. Normal vehicles that take a corner will experience a fictional sideways force which actually is just inertia. In order for a car to overcome that inertia it has to have enough traction. However a vehicle with the style of steering I used, actually uses that inertia to create additional downforce and traction, thereby increasing the velocity that can be used in a corner. I had a hard time creating something that didn't only function well in theory but also in the real world. At the moment it functions as intended, as you can see in the video. However the level of control and suspension could still be improved which is why I am building a second version at the moment. You can find additional photos on my Flickr account: https://www.flickr.com/photos/33425520@N07/albums/72157669572889372 I have also put it on LEGO ideas: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/159717

    [MOC] Bla.K:Tron Incinerator

In the last episode, blacktrons got steampunked by an evil guy in a cape (not superman). Here's a new unit. This is the Incinerator... ... A small tripod flamethrower. And it's very cute. Seriously, what could I tell you that you can't see by yourself? This is the pilot, he's an ugly bad guy. Really, he's ugly. You can't see it, but he really is. Bad guy in cockpit, it isn't comfortable, that's probably why he's in such a bad mood. Cute tanks. Who let me comment these pics? There, done. Enjoy.
  22. My tiny pearl gold drawer was overflowing, so I made... a Blacktron, of course! No, not of course, but pearl gold looks good there in my opinion. Better than that horrible yellow, yellow should be forbidden. So this is some steampunkish-neo-retro-blacktron It has a lazer fez! and a spot tap! Tiny feet and big guns! And it can be seen from behind! (I really don't know what to say about this pic, sorry). This guy is some badass Blacktron, 'cause he's black and badass. Another shot I have nothing to say about. This is the original of the cover pic, thought it'd be interesting to let people compare them if they want. There, that's it, enjoy.

  24. Hello! I made this series of comedy sketches featuring my Microfighter versions of classic space sets, mainly to amuse, but also to practice some new animation techniques and try and encourage some more support on the Lego Ideas submission which is languishing below 1k. It's a mixture of practical and CGI models, some stop-motion, and in the case of the micro space monorail, pulling it along on a bit of thread! If it raises a giggle, or even just a smirk, I'd be grateful if you could support the project on Lego Ideas, the link is in my footer.

    [MOC] Blacktron II Mech

An idea I'd had for a while that I suddenly realised in a night. Tied up bits and pieces the next day. Still may remake with better articulation, but I'm pretty happy with it as is. I do have, and can take more, detailed pics if requested.
