Hi All, Long time collecter, first time poster from Geelong Australia. I've recently begun collecting Lego again as an AFOL (with my kids as the excuse!).. At the moment i'm mad about Lego City Trains, and started the collection with 60197 and 60198. Hoping that lego will bring out some new models soon. I've also setup a new track at home in the dedicated lego room.. And sometimes I even let the kids play too. I'm currently collecting track, so i can build an outdoor layout. Does Anyone Know of Any Noteworthy AFOL Builders on Instagram?

While browsing around Pinterest the other day, I came across this one amazing microscale city skyline creation by Instagram user Jeff Friesen (a.k.a. jeff_works), who has build a few other micro cityscape MOCs which are all just as extraordinary. Instagram seems like the only place he has posted his work, and, since I've never browsed around Instagram for MOCs before, I started searching around the site via some the hashtags attached to his posts. Unfortunately, I really couldn't find anything at all, since many of the posts under the hashtags mostly consisted of minifigure photography. So, does anyone here know of some great and/or noteworthy fan builders who only post their work on Instagram? -
I think the Lego ninjago movie is pretty good for its designs. The story is meh and I didn't really care for the father and sin aspect of it.

The Castle of Captain Sabertooth is our contribution to a larger Captain Sabertooth (Kaptein Sabeltann) layout built by Scandinavian AFOLs. The whole layout will be on display at LEGO World Copenhagen, Denmark next year. Illuminated using the Brickstuff lighting system, which can be seen in the YouTube video below.

The 4-10-2 wheel arrangement, often referred to as the Southern Pacific for the railroad which put it to use most successfully, was a unique design that utilized three-cylinders instead of the traditional two. In terms of steam locomotive evolution, it followed the 2-10-2 Santa Fe but the American Locomotive Company's (Alco) desire to advance three-cylinder technology proved somewhat problematic, at least for the Union Pacific (which referred to its roster as "Overlands" for its Overland Route main line). The SP on the other hand found their fleet quite useful and reliable in regular service and continued to use them for nearly 30 years until diesels finally took over. Hey guys! I wanted to share my completed model of Southern Pacific's 4-10-2 steam engine. I designed this model myself taking inspiration from brass models of the engine and techniques from various builders here on EB and Flickr. This model took me several months to design, build, and test but it is finally completed! The best part? You can purchase your own set of instructions to build the same model! Yes, that's right. Have all of those amazing BMR rolling stock and maybe one or two of my SP & UP PFE cars but no engine to pull it? Well now you can build an expertly modeled steam engine that will fit in with your rolling stock perfectly. Instructions can be purchased here: https://www.bricktraindepot.com/product-page/southern-pacific-4-10-2 The model is powered by two XL PF motors, and a AAA battery box in the tender. An SBrick is housed in the tender as well. Features side rods by @zephyr1934. This engine can haul a LOT of rolling stock. Hello everyone! The first couple of AFOL Designer Sets from BrickLink have arrived to the people who pre-ordered them, so I thought it's time to make a review of my design, The LEGO® Story (which now has a set number too, BL19008). The postman gave me a classic brown box, with the BrickLink logo on it. After I opened it, I was finally able to see the beautiful, high quality box design. It has a white sleeve, with a couple of images of the four vignettes, the BrickLink logo, the 60 years anniversary logo from LEGO and a nice sticker, with "Exclusive LEGO element included" label. When you remove this white part of the box, you can see a nice backdrop photo for the model (on the inner side of the white sleeve), and of course the matte black box, with the BrickLink logo, and a nice brick pattern. The box is closed with a special shiny sticker, which includes the set number and name, and the (user)name of the AFOL who designed it. Let's open this black box! You can see here a thank you message from BrickLink and The LEGO Group, the exclusive element, the numbered bags, and the building instruction: Here is the exclusive element! - 39789pb01 The set contains 9 bigger, and several smaller bags (inside the bigger ones, for the smaller LEGO pieces), which are numbered similarly to the official LEGO set bags. A1 and A2 contains the pieces for the old workshop, B1 and B2 for the old moulding machine, C1 and C2 for the designer's office, and finally D1, D2, and D3 contains the pieces for the modern factory with the big moulding machine. The building instruction booklet is really high quality, just like the ones which you get with the bigger Creator Expert sets these days. This is my latest MOC! The idea for this creation simply came from memories when I was a kid (the 80s) and the exciting moment when my family came home with a brand new TV. The design of this room however is meant to be from the 70s and is mostly made up in my mind, with the help of some reference photos to get the right 70s feeling. I have not seen a topic on this, so if there is, please do move or merge with an established topic. Which AFOL community builders' work do you like or inspire you for your own projects/creations? For me, there are many, but my two top favorites are JonHall18 and Vince Toulouse on Flickr. Hello everybody, I wanted to show off Bloktopus city here. This started off as a cyberpunk style city, but gradually turned more into a Ninjago themed complex, thanks to Lego releasing the very fitting Ninjago modulars. It is half MOC's and half Ninjago Movie sets. At this moment about 60% of what you see has been disassembled. I hope you like what you see. Have a nice day. :-)

With the agreement of the Eurobricks staff, We are here to announce a new competition in the AFOL universe. It is soberly entitled Summercontest2018. Every Monday morning, we will come to announce you a new event and you will generally have one week to participate. For each event, the 3 winners arriving at the top of the ranking will leave with magnificent prizes provided by our partners such as BrickWarriors, Brickstuff and of course LEGO. At each event, participants will obtain ranking points. These points will be added to each new round and then added to the general classification of the competition. It is not necessary to participate in all events, but the members of the podium who have accumulated the most points during the different events will receive an exclusive badge on their BàB profile as well as other surprises. As we are super nice, we give you the list of the tests in advance, just to put you in condition and to allow you to set your evenings between friends Week #1 : Script Contest (July 2 to July 8) Week #2 : Adaptation Contest (July 9 to July 14) Week #3 : Set design contest (July 16 to July 22) Week #4 : Animation Contest (July 23 to July 29) Week #5 : Soundtrack Contest (July 30 to August 5) Week #6 : Animation Contest (August 5 to August 12) Week #7 : Storyboard Contest (August 13 to August 19) Week #8 : Brickfilm contest (August 20 to September 2) We have arranged to insert a non brickfilmic proof and a brickfilmic proof each time, in order to avoid you the overdose! We know that the brickfilm certainly rejects it, that's why, some tests are created to allow to participate without having any knowledge in the animation of a brickfilm. Hello Everyone, My name is Arijit and I am from India. I am 33 years old and started my journey into the world of Lego only last year. Yes, I know it is very late to get started with Lego. But as the saying goes better late than never. I have been lurking around this community since more than 6 months now and have been reading the reviews of various Technic Sets. I have also been following the Technic MOC threads as well and they have been inspiring me to build some MOCs of my own. I finally decided to join this community yesterday and am looking forward to learn many new tricks from all the experienced folks in here. I own a few Lego Technic sets - 42008, 42024, 42052, 42054, 42055 (yet to start building), 42060 (my first technic set), 42062, 42064, 42065 (my only RC set), 42066. I think I have got quite a few sets and they should be good enough to jump into MOCing. I do know I still miss some vital parts like differentials and suspensions but do plan to buy few 2018 sets as their prices fall to meet the gap. Beyond Lego Technic, I also like the StarWars series sets and some of the Creator sets but do not own any currently. I am also into photography: https://500px.com/arijitdas

Hi everyone! It's been 6 years since I last visited this amazing Lego site and after resetting my forgotten password, I am now back for the second time round! My name is Aaron and I last posted here in 2008. Back then I really rediscovered my lost childhood love of Lego, and I fell back in love with the shiny little plastic bricks hard! Unfortunately, after a good few months of posting on here and building various unfinished projects, I slowly started to lose interest and once those magical little bricks were tidied away, they have stayed there ever since. I am now living in my own flat with my (ever so understanding) girlfriend, but my countless boxes of Lego are still stored at my parents house (though not for long I'm sure ). Recently I found myself itching to have another go at it. I have just purchased a few bargain sealed Lego City sets from the last few years and should be building them within the next few days (around the daily work grind ). Fun builds with lots of pieces, such as the 4439 Police Heavy-Lift Helicopter for £20.00 and I've just picked up the 4436 Police Patrol Car for only £5.00. Looking at the latest sets, It's amazing how intricate the designs are now, with so many new parts and building techniques implemented. I did find it quite difficult to go through with it and spend my hard earned money, on what most people think as children's small plastic building blocks. But I like to think that by having such a massive interest in Lego as a child, it helped me become who I am today in adult life. I am a very hands on person who is always interested in how things are made and how they work. I do moan a little at how expensive Lego is these days, but I am surprised at how the quality of current Lego products is still so high! I would much rather them keep their quality high, than cut corners or cheapen the bricks. So I understand that for this reason, the prices have to increase with today's economical climate. I am in need for an enjoyable hobby, one where I can really stretch my now dwindling adult imagination. Maybe a hobby that lets you just escape this harsh world you slowly discover as you get older. I have now chosen to buy some Lego, to rediscover some of that enjoyment and imagination I had as a kid. I also hope to interact with other Adult Fans of Lego on these forums, it's been a while since I participated in any social forums online but I know how much fun they can be and especially this one. So I hope to have a good old chat with you lovely people, Lego is an amazing system indeed and it's nice that we can all share our enjoyment of it with others here at the Eurobricks forums. Thank you

I'm "Lego King" and I'm new here. I couldn't stay away. I'm a huge AFOL (enthusiasm and body type--ha ha), helped found NMLUG (New Mexico Lego Users Group), which is growing and started in early 2012. I've mostly interacted on Facebook, in person at SANDLUG, CACTUSBRICKS, and Flickr (http://www.flickr.com/photos/53325190@N05/) Perhaps my greatest contribution to the wider Lego community is that I counted out a large pick-a-brick cup full of 1x2 tiles to see how many tiles it holds (no fancy stacking)---the answer is 1703! If someone knows where I could've found that kind of info that wouldn't have involved me counting them by hand, please tell me! So I can feel bad.

PLAYING IN SPACE SINCE 1978 by Cristiano Grassi, su Flickr Have you ever wondered how our Spacemen Heroes could travel for almost 40 years through space without getting older or bored to death? Here’s your answer. For forty years our heroes have been playing with LEGO bricks! I was reorganizing some minifigs when I found a spaceman that I used to play with when I was a child, having him live the most amazing adventures. And I started wondering “He’ll be 40 in a little while, what’s his secret?” So, I imagined him, together with all his travelling companions, playing with a LEGO Space base for forty years. Maybe it’s true that playing with LEGO bricks keeps you young. What do you think about it? Do you find it new? Interesting? Creative? I had never seen something like this before and it's one of the reasons I've launched the project on LEGO Ideas. Another one is to see our beloved Classic Space minifig come back, or, why not, maybe even a few themed sets could come back. This project could act as a springboard. Hi. Me and some other swedes have started a TV-show for YouTube featuring the AFOLs of Sweden. Where you get to know more about them and their passion and builds and collection etc. Here is a short trailer for the series that will start in a few weeks. Hope you all will like the show =) The spooken language is swedish but all the episodes and the trailer contains subtitles.
