Review: 42059 Stunt Truck Name: Stunt Truck Number: 42059 Theme: Technic Year: 2017 Pieces: 142 Price: USD $19.99, Euro 19.99€, AUD $32.99 Brickset: Extra Info Technic Early 2017 Review Series Welcome to the fourth in my batch of 2017 Technic reviews! I was offered all the small sets early 2017 for review late last year... but I ended up getting them all! Thus I have a lot to review. I've been doing them in parallel and changing my process as I go so hopefully the latter ones will end up being the best. On that angle I'll probably retcon some of the earlier reviews if I improve my process. Due to this remember that I'm happy to take extra photos or provide extra info on request, and anything especially good will be added to the main body of the review. Do note though that sometimes the model may no longer exist if I have have made an alternate. On the subject of alternates, I will be making the alt model, if I have the instructions, think the model is worth making, and I have the time. Also I'll show mid stage construction only if I think it's relevant. Thus don't ask for construction photos or alt models if they aren't part of the review.... I am prepared to extract parts for detail photos though. Photos will all be hosted on Flickr so larger versions are available, and relevant videos will be on YouTube and linked to from here. I don't edit photos much; very rarely I'll crop one and almost never will "correct" them so the photos should be as natural as possible. I will try to not be repetitive; thus it's worth reading my other reviews. For example I'm not going to complain too much about the digital instructions; I'll try to complain about new things, or maybe not complain at all! So onto the review! Packaging Front.... ...back.... ...top. Unboxing Standard punch box. Only one instruction book and it's staple bound without a substantial cover. Secondary model has instructions online only. The build is not sectioned... OK it is sorta. There's a "1" bag... and another. So in short, it's not. The panels in "Medium azure" and pullback motor are slightly special, with the ramp and the... ...the anniversary part being slightly more special than those. Parts list. Random instruction page. Build It's done! Spare parts. Power is directly applied to the rear wheel. No gearing or any other functions are in this model. The ramp is a custom colour with a wheel pattern that matches the respective vehicle and has rubber feet to help it grip rather than slip. You can see the anniversary part here on the top. Action video! The stickers are quite effective in this set as they help blend the colours. Power Racer (Combiner) I was considering making this into a separate review, but ultimately I don't have much to say about these sets, so I think it's more fair to include it here. (Do note though that I don't count this model when rating the set.) I made it after the main sets so I don't have photos without the stickers. I believe these are the spare parts. There could be some missing.... one of our resident cats slept here (hair left as evidence) and left me with doubts. I did think this part of the build was cool, in that it took advantage of the 45 degree cutouts to increase robustness. Overall I liked the look of this model. It reminded me of some the the early studless Technic models. The stickers worked well, even though one is upside down (correctly placed, it's just designed for the A model), and the colours blend well, which is impressive since there isn't always an even pairing of parts. Both of the anniversary parts are used, but only one is visible. Quick action video! Longer action video! Since I won't be rating the combiner, I will make a quick comment that I was impressed with how well it handled; when aimed well it was fast and jumped high. Ratings Function: Technic fans probably should look elsewhere. 2/10 Parts: The highlight really is the "Medium azure" 6/10 Price: The Australian price of this set seems rather high IMHO. 6/10 Accuracy: Considering the limited parts it's not a horrid truck model. 6/10 Fudge: Pullback cars aren't really my thing. But it's a good kit for experimenting with them. 6/10 Overall: It's the better deal of the pullbacks, but even so, there's better Technic for less money 5/10 -

Arr mateys, it is Talk Like A Pirate Day 2017! It seems even Batman is taking to the Seven Seas, to plunder and drink rum: Batman in full pirate regalia, aboard his trusted "Black Bat". Who needs more than one sail? Who needs cannons? He's Batman! It is a rather simple construction, aye. Loot is aplenty, and you need some room for your batarangs. So celebrate todays most piratey holiday, and may your rum bottle go never dry!

[MOC] Crop Sprayer- 42054 C model (INSTRUCTIONS READY)

Hey everyone, I would like to present my latest finished MOC, the crop sprayer built from 42054. it has 2 motorized and 1 manual function. The build went relatively smoothly, though toward the end, a problem arose where the model simply refused to roll forward. I originally thought this was because of the model being front heavy (which it is) but then I saw that the wheel hubs were parting toward the outside when rolling forward, so the wheels were hitting the chassis, which made it stop rolling. This problem could have been avoided if the model didn't need to have so much ground clearance. On the other hand, it steers very smoothly and the motorized functions work smoothly. The motorized functions are the deploying and lowering/raising of the sprayer arms. More can be seen in the video. Pictures are below with added lights: Overall I was happy with the look and function of the model. If you have a comment or some criticism, please leave below as I would love to hear from you. I was going to wait until Cyberhand finished the final version of the Titan Scale MOUP but that doesn't seem like it's going to happen anytime soon. So I'd figure I would show off the Moc now and add more pictures when I got the final Titan Scale MOUP The idea behind the moc was to somewhat recreate G1 Makuta's Shadow Titan build (2003 Makuta) Yet also keep aspects of G2 Mask Maker Makuta. I really like how it turned out. But one problem is with the massive hammer I gave him. He's a bit top heavy due to the small feet. But I like the design to much to change it and its not hard to get him to balance. Pictures (Will resize if needed) No Hammer or Cape His weapon. Which I've dubbed the Corrupted Crystalline Hammer Figured I'd also try to see what he looks like with my Metal MOUP. Its not fully attached so it won't get stuck so I only have one picture And one last picture of what he looked like with the gold G1 Mask of Shadows Finally an LXF file of his build. 70613 Garma Mecha Man Pictorial Review

Hey all! Welcome to my pictorial review of set 70613 Garma Mecha Man. It retails for $59.99 in the US and comes with 747 parts and 4 minifigures. This set will be evaluated on a scale from 0 - 100: Figure Desirability/Quality, Main Build Design, and Main Build Aesthetics. On a side note - I'm out traveling and couldn't resist getting my hands on a Ninjago Movie set, so lightning is not top notch, but hopefully the photos can get the point across. And now, without further ado, let's meet the Mecha Man. Let's start off with the figures. For $59.99, you only get four figures, which is disappointing given the high amounts of figures in smaller $20-$30 sets. Another henchman or ninja (or both) would have been appreciated to add value to the set, but for now, let's take a look at what we get. Let's start off with the titular villain, Lord Garmadon. He sports a new armor element that extends his torso and gives him two extra arms. While similar to the element used widely in the Stone Army range of sets in 2013, it has a flat front and more detailed printing, unlike the previous variant. Garmadon also includes a new samurai-style helmet mold, which is fitting for the villain and, in my opinion, much more intimidating than his simple bone helmet of 2011-2012. From the back, it does come across as comically large, although I assume that was done on purpose. Unfortunately, there is no back printing on the upper torso, something which would have been excusable up until this point, where LEGO has proved their ability to print on the backs of such longer torsos with Garmadon's Jungle, "Dad," and Pajama variants. However, I suspect this wasn't printed because this figure normally comes with a large, regal cape, something which is inexplicably and very unfortunately absent from this set. With the plus-size torso removed, Garmadon's chest printing is very similar to his 2011-2012 TV show variant, with his simple, white muscular lines. With his old man out of the way, the spotlight shifts to Lloyd, the Green Ninja. Lloyd is decked out in a spiffy new outfit with reflective gold highlights and layered texturing around his suit - look closely and his suit is patterned with diamond marks, adding another layer to the print that shines in certain lighting. The back of his torso is adorned with the classic Sensei Wu logo from way back in 2011, with a few minor stylistic changes to curvature and thickness of lines. Again, the diamond pattern repeats onto the back and he wears a simple green belt around his waist. Lloyd's mask comes as two separate elements that weave together seamlessly, much like Darth Vader's newer mask introduced last year. The back of the new hood dips back dramatically to allow the tied "knot" of the upper mask to fit, revealing almost all of his alternate face. Lloyd also comes with a new sword mold with the 2016 tassle element attached to the end. The new sword is extremely sleek and is a refreshing update to the original katana we've been seeing variants of since 1998. However, with the tassle removed, the end of the handle does feel a bit out of place, continuing past the stopper. An interesting note is that every new element in the set is copyrighted to 2015, which shows just how long this movie and its sets have been in production. And now, we move onto Garmadon's lackey: Great White. The shark part of the getup is unfortunately attached to the armor and battery indicator as a single mold, making head movement impossible and decreasing the reusability of the parts. However, the mold is an extremely nice element for its limited use, sporting two color tones for the shark head, white teeth, black eyes, and dark silver armor, bring the color count in this single mold up to 6, counting the red batter indicator. On the back of Great White sits the traditional LEGO airtanks we've come to know and love, which was a bit of a surprise to me - I figured it would be part of the armor. Note that the back of the shark head curves upwards greatly to accommodate this element, meaning that a great section of back head and neck is exposed without the tanks. With the headgear removed we get a peek at his comical expression - if nothing else, these aquatic army troops give us really unique and fresh facial expressions. For those interested, with tanks removed, the back of the soldier is thankfully printed, with a skydiving clip and pockets. And now for the final figure - a civilian: While just a side character, this female civilian brings all new prints and a refreshing look to an "ordinary" city-goer. The feet are printed excellently with sandals, and the blue printing on the legs is consistent with the printing on the torso, which is a relief. She also sports the conical hat new to the Ninjago Movie and common throughout its several sets. Note the copyright 2015 on the backside. The back of the torso is extremely simple and almost plain, save for a few lines here and there. However, there really doesn't need to be anything here, so it's passable. But the figures aren't the reason you'd buy this set (or maybe they are, but regardless, let's meet the Mecha Man) Behold the Mecha Man! Compared to the poster, the set is extremely downsized, but this is to be expected with movie to set conversions. One very notable omission is the gargantuan staff the movie version wields, which is designed to match the new staff element Garmadon is wielding in the poster. This omission is particularly disappointing as there's nothing for the hand to do on the toy version, besides one small thing we will get to. In addition, the red eyes on the side of the hammerhead shark head, which appear very menacing in the movie, seem very comical in this version, as no attempt was made for eyebrows or elements to cover up the circular nature of the 1x1 plates. Thus, the eyes, combined with the slanting mouth, give the mech a comical and unthreatening gopher-like appearance, which is quite unfortunate. From the side, unique elements start to pop out, such as the back-mounted boot thrusters and the amusing shark tank in the back of the mech. However, this angle showcases some of the mech's weak spots as well, such as the gappy knee plating, disproportionate, chunky legs, and unsightly red and blue bits around the sides. LEGO's been doing a better job of making mechs more presentable from the back, and this is no different - in fact, the back side reveals one of my favorite and most quirky parts to the set - the fish/shark tank that houses the ammunition for the left arm cannon: sharks. Or, rather, blue fish, because sharks wouldn't work at this scale. The back also reveals some out of place yellow, red, and blue elements, especially on the back of the cannon, bottom legs, and head connection area. I'm all for including multicolored bits to make the build process easier (staring at a pile of black bricks and trying to find a specific one is never a fun or easy task), but not covering them up is really unfortunate. However, the fact that this is a common issue and not an aesthetic error unique to this set (Assault on Hoth's ion cannon particularly stands out as an infamous example), and because the issue has appeared in far more egregious areas in other sets, I'm willing to not be as harsh on this particular fault. Starting with the feet, you can see the extreme efforts LEGO put into making sure this set was stable - efforts that may have overcompensated way too much, resulting in pretty much no foot movement at all. Any attempt to pose it with more than one "click" to the leg makes the set extremely unstable, which is ironic, given the purpose of the extra parts. Even when rotated side to side, the feet are still extremely restricted - the photo above shows the extent to which I was able to turn them. I don't understand why such heavy precautions were made - the friction joints were made for this purpose, and the ball and socket is extremely stable. Moving up along the leg, we can see the slightly awkward way the legs are placed - luckily, this is covered mostly by the side flaps, so aesthetically it isn't too bad. Functionally, it still offers a wide range of motion, so it does work. Up to the mid torso there's a fine bit of piston greebling that is sadly immediately covered by the front flap, leaving on the gold elements poking out and seeming rather out of place. It's a shame the flap revealed a bit more of this construction, as most of it goes to waste when fully covered. The upper torso front plate folds down, along with the upper head, much like the original Ninjago mech: 9448 Samurai Mech. However, unlike its predecessor, the upper helmet is not attached with a click-hinge and thus doesn't have any friction whatsoever, causing it to flop around needlessly during play. Moving to the arm, we take a look at the shark shooter: Sadly, this is one of the worst-looking parts of the set. It's asymmetrical in all the wrong ways, with only one missile. I understand the need for this - a second missile would prematurely fire whenever the arm was moved, but the execution of it is far from sufficient, leaving a gap on the other side of the cannon. The four front studs on the cannon look similarly exposed and unfinished, which is disappointing given that two single elements could have solved this issue. The one good thing going for this arm is the hilarious shark ammo belt, a fine detail I've come to expect from the Ninjago Movie sets. The hand is also given something to hold - the human artifact laser pointer. While it's not as clever or well-designed as the Kragle, it does its purpose as a laser keychain - the only issue is that the mech is given no way to hold it in a good pose. It can't point it and aim it at targets, contrary to what the box art suggests, and just looks very awkward held in the fist of the mech. Moreover, it's useless as a minifigure scale weapon - the attachment point is secured by a freely-moving Technic pin, making it impossible to stay in one place and be held by a minifigure. I tried several times to get a good shot of Garmadon with the weapon and failed each time, which is really unfortunate given all the promotional shots of him wielding the weapon. Overall, for minifigures, I would rate the set 80/100 - the designs are great, but having only four minifigures and the omission of Garmadon's cape drags the value down. Plus, each figure is available in other, cheaper sets (including the CMF line), which is unfortunate. For main build design/functions, I'd give the set a 70/100 - it's a cut above most other Ninjago mechs, but is nowhere near as well-built as Kai's mech, for example, and has a limited array of functions - the firing arm and the cockpit exposure (which is so loose it barely works). Plus, poseability (or lack thereof) really dampers the score. For aesthetics, I'd rate the set an 85/100 - at certain angles, it's very menacing, and it towers over a standard minifigure. However, aspects like repeated exposure of randomly-colored red, yellow, and blue bricks scattered about and the pitifully goofy eyes drag the score down. On average, the set clocks in at a 80/100, or B. It's a solid set with nice detailing, but the lack of poseability and questionable functions make it not one of the best Ninjago Movie sets. I'd say to buy this only if you are an avid collector of Ninjago, love the character of Garmadon, or are impatient and want to get ahold of any Ninjago Movie set before official release. Otherwise, given other options, I'd hold off on this set in lieu of sets with much better value (70611 Nya's Water Strider - only $30!) or better visual and functional appeal (70615 Fire Mech, for only $10 more) Hope you enjoyed the review, and feel free to leave comments and feedback below! -

With some people being able to find the Summer 2017 Nexo Knight sets. I was wondering if anyone would be willing to part with there Lord Krakenskull Minifigure from Aaron's Rock Climber Seeing as the set hasn't been inventoried on Bricklink yet As I really don't want to buy the set just for one Minifigure If you do wish to sell him to me. I'd like his with his helmet and cape. Weapon is optional but I'd don't need it.

41184 Aira's Airship & the Amulet Chase - Review and photos

Hello! :) There'll be a lot of reviews of new Elves sets soon, but I think it can't be too many of them anyway :) So I decided to make one again! I've build beautiful Aira's Airship of Elves 2017 and here's some pictures of it. Hope you like it too :) Overall impression reminds me split of two amazing sets from first wave - Naida's Adventure Ship and Pegasus Sleigh with all that fancy-styled details and pleasing color scheme. Ant that's great! Play features became less peaceful: while only weapon of team of Andventure ship was frying pan, heroes of new story have boomerang and disc shooter, and little goblin with flying backpack looks more menaceful than sea shell or little dragon's house :) Most intriguing part of the main building for me was wing mechanism. It have a lot intresting joints, even gear mechanism that keeps wings in raised position. Movement is enough tight, it's not very light and smooth, and needs a little effort. But anyway I really liked that it adds technic building expirience. Intresting parts: lots of gold makes happy my inner magpie! :D Book with air symbol is my favorite item here! I like Aira most of all characters, so I glad that here's new stuff with her symbols. Boomerang is also nice weapon for an intelligent character. Map is classical feature of this series. All theese pretty items may be storaged in pantry of the airship! Also there's box with ammo for disc-shooter. Goblin's fliyng box. I can't find out how this bolts shoot :( When I press them as shown in istruction, they just falls down, may be I make it wrong way. But I don't mind it, because I like boxes :) The goblin himself looks like an desperate person that can bring a lot of troubles for elves! :) And here's comparisions :) New amulet also fits good to regular lego minifig. There were two amulets on one mould, like golden keys from other sets. This old and respectable guy is honored to show it to you! :) (it's only minifig that saved from my former collection) Comparision with Naida's Adventure Ship from 2015. Three Airas! And last picture - Aira's airfleet, of Elvendale Airlines inc. =) Also here's my jetbike moc :) Thanks for watching! I hope this will attract more intrest for this beautilul series! -
41183 The Goblin King's evil Dragon - Review

Hello! I already happened to get first of new elves sets - it appeared in some shops in Russia. So I can't wait to share my impressions with you :) Hope you'll like it too! In my opinion this year designesrs really succeed to make a bit more gender-neutral buildings in this series - as I began to unpack the box, my husband grabbed bags and started to build, he said this will be his dragon :D (to mention, he is not intresed much in other dragons) So, here's what is inside the box: And what it become: It's look really dangerous because it's horns, claws and thorns, and I liked curved design and how posable it is. Leg joints is solid and move only in one dimension, it is made as Draqon Queen legs with "+" holes in it. Earlier I worried that new color combination is not very harmonic, but in real it looks better than on photos, so as most of Lego sets. Also bionicle ball joints and details makes it different from good dragons, and this is fresh but still keeps familiar style. View from the top: There are whole 5 horns on it's head! Also nice printed symbol of Goblin King. Comparision to Zonya, the fire dragon, thay are the same size. Wyvern may fold it's wings and stand on them like on front limbs. That's epic! Some intresting steps from instructions: And new illustration in the end of book: There is some images from new app, and characters are depicted in the old realistic style :) And this surprised me a lot! A piece of rocky enviroment has simple and elegant mechanism that tosses up the crystal plate. 1x1 crystals is nice new feature. And there's new little blue piece with rounded corner: All characters: Goblin hair and shirt are not printed, it's moulded from different colours of plastic like baby dragons. Also, King's crown made with same method. I liked textile used for coat, it's dense and hanging under its own weight. I just a little worried why King and wyvern don't have names :( Little bear and her baby will complement the zoo of cute animals! By the way, squirrel, fox, pigeon and others are favorite charachers of my young sister :) And at last, I have such diorama of dark elves! I rebuilded green pool to make it look as it is in movie. By the way, ninjago ghosts became castle guards :) And so, I glad that new set gives feeling of new turn of elves' story and adds depth to it - that is most important :) -

I was offered all the small sets early 2017 for review late last year... but I ended up getting them all! Thus I have a lot to review. I've been doing them in parallel and changing my process as I go so hopefully the latter ones will end up being the best. On that angle I'll probably retcon some of the earlier reviews if I improve my process. Due to this remember that I'm happy to take extra photos or provide extra info on request, and anything especially good will be added to the main body of the review. Do note though that sometimes the model may no longer exist if I have have made an alternate. On the subject of alternates, I will be making the alt model, if I have the instructions, think the model is worth making, and I have the time. Also I'll show mid stage construction only if I think it's relevant. Thus don't ask for construction photos or alt models if they aren't part of the review.... So onto the review! Packaging Front.... ...back.... ...top. Unboxing Standard punch box. Only one instruction book and it's staple bound without a substantial cover. Secondary model has instructions online only; I'll be making this soon. The build is not sectioned. The yellow bionicle tooth and pullback motor are slightly special, with the ramp and the... ...the anniversary part being slightly more special than those. Parts list. Random instruction page. Build It's done! Spare parts. For better or worse (spoiler: probably worse) the pull back motor has a geared drive train. Since this offers no mechanical advantage it really just adds style... and friction. The ramp is a custom colour and has rubber feet to help it grip rather than slip. You can see the anniversary part here on the bottom. Action video! Bonus action video! Adding stickers doesn't really change the look that much IMHO but I will say there seems to be a common theme with the "companies" this year. I wonder what "CHEQ-URED" sell? Ratings Function: Well really this is a Racer with a pointless gear link. But it gets an extra mark for the gear link. 3/10 Parts: Not much special so if you're short on small wheels, small gears, paper ramps or pullback motors it's a good set. 4/10 Price: The Australian price of this set seems rather high IMHO. 5/10 Accuracy: Well.... Clearly it looks like no bike. (Yeah, that's a challenge.) It also would be horrid for stunts. (Better for drag racing.) But as square bikes go it's pretty cool. 4/10 Fudge: Pullback cars aren't really my thing. If they are your thing then you'd probably see the worth in this 6/10 Overall: Meh. Loads better Technic for less money 4/10 -

Both models have included instructions, covers are of slightly better quality to the pages themselves. Excellent mixture of parts. Interestingly I was starting to think last year that the Arocs gear rack was to be a one off, but nope it's here in red. (And in grey in another set.) I love those wheels too. The arc piece is rare as well. Other than those the new parts are the worm gear and this new connector... Plus a new bucket. The bucket itself doesn't seem special, but it does connect via a full width peg, which matches the recent buckets, since this one I believe. Yes, this set has an anniversary element. Parts list. Not so Random instruction page. I've been seeing this kind of assembly more often these days; you can't get this in without bending the axle. Sure it can take it, but it does surprise me. Build It's done! Spares. Anniversary part location. It's only held in from the top by one pin... which is on a 2 long beam held on by one pin. Not very integrated, so if you want a set that has the part but it can be easily removed this is an option! The stacker from 42062 is a similar concept, but is clearly a different scale. It's interesting to compare the design, this model has superior steering, more correct height adjust, less inaccurate boom extension... but even so due to the usage of a mini-linear actuator the actual lift capability is low. Not really an issue IMHO, but worth noting. It is still very functional though, as this video shows. I've had a problem with this kind of steering for a while (I think I first saw it in a large model with 8295), as it's not very realistic and often is imprecise. But realism objections aside, it works very well, and the usage of the cam parts is smart. Stickers are subtle in this set, probably mostly because of the lack of panels. Tow Truck (B Model) In this case I did make the B model. Due to the available parts the set has to be creative with the steering. The turning circle isn't too good... It's quite capable of doing it's job; here's it being demonstrated. For example, here's a racing truck in need of a tow. All you need to do is get under the front... ...lift... ...retract (noting the anniversary piece)... ...and you're ready to roll! Note though that the frame is bending a bit under the load, but since it's all rather thin it's hardly surprising. Ratings Function: The A model really is only missing stabilizers, other than that it's a good representative of a telehandler. The tow-truck is probably too simplistic, but it does do the job. 9/10 Parts: Colours aren't very exciting, but there's a lot of MOCing potential here. 9/10 Price: Considering the prices I'm seeing this year this is pretty standard. 9/10 Accuracy: Well obviously I'd prefer more pneumatics or linear actuators, but it's a small model. Similar story with the tow truck. 8/10 Fudge: Probably my favorite of the cheaper sets with two very functional vehicles to experiment with. The Telehandler aesthetically is nice too. 8/10 Overall: Lift and tow today! 8/10 -

Both models have included instructions, covers are of slightly better quality to the pages themselves. On the subject of instructions here's the parts list... ...and here's the (selected) instruction page showing the stacker steering. More on that later. Build Off we go! Here's Bag One in a container... ...which ends up making the truck. The part that holds on the headlights is a new re-colour... ...and the anniversary part unique to this wave is used on the bottom. The steering has rather bad limits (pretty much what you see) but it does the job. These are the Bag One spares. On to Bag Two! Shouldn't be too hard to work out what's being made here. Hopefully you expected this. Bag Two spares. Bag Three! Note the new re-colour of the gear rack. I'm glad this part is back. Also worth noting are the... ...new worm gear and connector, in many of the other 2017 sets and shamelessly taken from another review. Obviously this builds the stacker. Which means we're done! Bag Three spares.... ...and total spares... but in hindsight I think there's an extra pin in there that I was using to join the containers together with. Here's a quick video showing the functions. The stickers aren't really needed in this set, they just add a bit of colour. Really I think the containers need the detail most. Does this mean Danish trucks share plates with their trailers? Note that the containers really are too thin. So let's demonstrate the primary function; lifting and stacking! Broom, broom, the stacker approaches... ...opens the grabber... ...finds the convenient pickup holes... ...latches shut the jaws (using the lever on top)... ...and lifts the Bricks and Beams. I failed to make this clear in the video, but the extension mechanism is quite capable of stopping halfway, even with a load. I think it's mostly because of the friction in the gear rack Also, it can reach high enough to "stack". As I highlight in the video, the load capacity of the stacker is a bit above an empty container; some sort of counterweight is needed. The set doesn't have much other features; the trailer has no function, not even a support leg... ...and the truck has weak steering, opening door and reclining seats. On a positive note, the steering control is via a universal joint. The trailer connection is extremely simple as well. Most of the set detail and function is in the stacker. Like the truck, it's roughly minifig scale, and it's got some interesting techniques. The steering is controlled from the back and it is very simple but still interesting as (looking at the instructions at the top) it uses a joint ball to push the steering arm from side to side. I haven't seen that done before in Technic. (I didn't make the B model; its a straddle loader with a different truck.) Ratings Function: The functions are all there to enable you to play/test out the concept. Since it's a small model many of the functions are not remotely controlled which I tend to feel a bit disappointed by... but having a remote grabber release for example is generally not done even on larger models. 8/10 Parts: Another good orange part pack, and a very good blend of parts too. 9/10 Price: Considering the prices I'm seeing this year this is pretty standard. 9/10 Accuracy: Sadly I think the truck lets down the whole set. Four wheels not six? Sure, that's kinda common. The trailer though is too simple; not enough wheels, no support, and it's thinner than the containers. The stacker on the other hand is excellent. 6/10 Fudge: As I keep saying, the stacker is the highlight. Oddly I wish they went for a lower price point and skipped the truck. Or perhaps a higher? In any case it does seem this set is designed for minifigs. Don't really like that either... 6/10 Overall: Build the stacker and containers and use the rest as spare parts! 7/10 -

Built for the Vastlands Cross category of the 2017 LEGO speeder Bike Contest over on Flickr. I decided to go with a Rock Raiders theme for my bikes this year, which was great fun. We acquired several Rock Raiders figs and some dark turquoise parts at BFVA 2016, so it was good to put them to use. The Rapid Rider is well equipped for it’s trek across the vastlands, with its chrome drills ready to decimate any obstacle in it’s path. In the unlikely event a repair is needed, there are survival supplies and tools in the satchel. It also comes with retractable landing gear for easy maintenance and landing.
