This house was digitally built in 2018, really built in 2019, then languished in a WIP state for several years before being finished last month. Enjoy the pictures - this model has been a long rough ride since the beginning, but it was worth it! I was inspired to create this model from the 2018 Jurassic World set 75930, Indoraptor Rampage at Lockwood Estate, with some design cues from set 10228, Haunted House. The dollhouse-style model was built from the set pictures, with the play features removed and opening rear sections added to match the front half. The house folds apart, doll house style, with the rear section opening in quarters up to 90 degrees. (Technic pins hold the model shut for transport and ease of handling) The modular building compatible base is able to be removed from the building to facilitate access to the inside details. The rear of the mansion features a back door (perfect for escapes when the locals get feisty about the scientist playing god again!) and the chimney flue. Moving inside, The bottom floor features the living room and dining rooms, while the second floor is the bedroom, study and pipe organ rooms. The third floor features the laboratory for the study of time travel. The rear door to the outside is in the right rear section, while the safe containing the house's title and family paper work is directly above on the second level. This area also has stairs from first to second floors and what appears to be Frankenstein's monster on the third floor's operating table! The left rear quarter features the fireplace and telephone on the first floor and a bed for the second floor's master bedroom. The stairs to the third floor are also on this side. It seems the time stone from the Marvel Universe is also here... I wonder what the Doctor plans on doing with it? I built the roadster model by heavily stretching set 40532 - Vintage Taxi by about seven studs. This allowed for me to add in mechanical details. I added a covered spare tire at the rear of the car, and blacked out the back windscreen to give the impression of a fabric convertible top. As an added bonus, the car still seats two figures with room in the trunk for luggage. (Any and all resemblance in the mad doctor to moderators, living, dead, or otherwise, is totally coincidental. It is totally not @Professor Thaum in his younger years. ) The rear of the MOC. Inside view of the car, with seating for two and room for baggage. ...and that's all I've got. Emmett and Lucy's dream home 10228 / 70831 MOD - with LDD file

Just another imagining of Emmett's house from after the events of The Lego Movie 2, in colors of set 70831, (Emmet's Dream House/Rescue Rocket!) but in the style of 10228. (Haunted House) The model opens up like a dollhouse, and lock shut on a technic pin. This flight of fancy is 100% build-able in real bricks, should I ever choose to do so. The black antenna you see on the roof is for the TV inside the house. You may ask: "Why does a Edwardian home have a vintage TV antenna?" Here is the answer: The home is based in the interior decorating styles of the 1950's, but was originally built in 1910's. It was bought as a gutted wreck by Emmet and Lucy a couple years back, and they restored it to it's former glory. (with some mid-'50's-esque additions, of course) On the side of the house is the kitchen door, which leads to the car in the driveway. On the opposite side of the home is the chimney flue, with TV antenna attached at the top. Inside the front door is the living room, with vintage rabbit-eared TV, Planty, a lamp, and Aqua-colored couch. Also on this floor we have the stove / oven unit. Upstairs is the rotary telephone and grandfather clock. The double bed, record player, and a display cabinet are also on this floor. The studs on the new fireplace should have number tiles reading 1914, as that's when the house was built.... and it's 100 years before the original LEGO Movie came out. (The two medium blue posters on the second level should have stickers depicting Emmett & Lucy both as pictures in frames.) The car is inspired by this recent @hachiroku Indiana Jones 4 build as seen here. This car fits in with Emmet's original smart car color-wise, but just a little older style-wise. (Most of the car model is already built from my last model of Emmett's house, but a few parts for the new lower side skirts are still needed.) The rear has a license plate and two (new!) coverings almost fully obscuring the rear wheels, in true early-'50's style. Six new brackets are missing from the car model on the rear bumper. (Two of these pieces in Light Bluish Gray, along with Four of this part in Black are required to finish the car.) The roof is held on by four studs, and is as such removable. I have also included light bluish gray upholstery for the back of the seat, which can fit two people next to each other. (Emmett and Lucy are the most likely occupants, obviously.) 1920's Mad Scientist Mansion - modular 75930 MOD with vintage car

I was inspired to create this model from the 2018 Jurassic World set 75930, Indoraptor Rampage at Lockwood Estate, with some design cues from set 10228, Haunted House. The dollhouse-style model was built from the set pictures, with the play features removed and opening rear sections added to match the front half. The model also features the round "time window" for the mad scientist's experiments, along with lightning rods on top of the house. (for powering his experiments) Here is the in-universe backstory for the house and the enigmatic Doctor Harold Wormwood: This badly-preserved photograph (from April 1st, 1926) is all that physically remains of the infamous Wormwood Estate, reportedly taken just two weeks ways before Dr. Harold Wormwood started his time-window device for the first / last time, which resulted in a massive flash of light, leveling the mansion and leaving a large crater in the middle of the surrounding Louisiana bayou. Nothing remained of the building, the machine, or the Doctor in the immediate area, and it seems no noise was made during the explosion. Some crackpot "experts" of the time believed that the time window caused the house and grounds to move out of time itself, moving either forwards or backwards depending on the machine's setting. Of course, the truth may never be known, as the sunken crater is now filled with water (and alligators) from the nearby bayou... ...and here is the same picture without the special Google Images filters. The rear of the mansion features a conservatory and the chimney flue. The house folds apart, with the rear section opening in quarters up to 90 degrees, while the conservatory opens up to 180 to allow for figure placement. (Technic pins hold the model shut for transport and ease of handling) The bottom floor features the living room, while the second floor is the bedroom, with bed and pipe organ, plus a beating the still-heart of Dr. Wormwood's beloved deceased wife, Myrtle. The third floor features more crazy experiments, plus the stairway to his greatest achievement, the time window! The right rear quarter features the conservatory and some furniture on the second and third floors. This section also has stairs from first to second floors. The left rear quarter features the fireplace and a frozen fly monster that is all that remains of his first teleportation window project. The stairs to the third floor are also on this side. This car was originally designed by Tom.Netherton1 from Flickr as his Mercedes-Benz SSK 'Count Trossi' (seen here ) I heavily modified it into the car seen here, and it still needs some work to match the online version. It is fitted it with a single driver's seat, spare tire, and a reddish brown paint scheme. The rear of the model features a spare tire and license plate, plus it fits a figure in the drivers seat. This concludes the post for now, as the real life house is on the to-build list, while the car is already (mostly) built in real bricks. Hey guys So, back when the 10228 was available, I instantly thought I'd love to see 2 of them together as a big moc, but it was a while before I got 2, and then life happened so I didn't get round to it. I eventually started in LDD as space was still a premium, but kept getting stuck on progress and where to go with it, how to make it work, how to imagine what it would be like rather than simply having something real as a reference (like an at-at) and converting it to lego (what I'm better at). It's been well over 4 years now since I started it on LDD. But I now feel I'm at a point where I'd be happy to build it, exterior finished, despite the interior lacking in furniture. Here's the thing. I'm really happy with it. But... I feel its missing something (other than furniture!)... Something that gives it a 'wow' factor, which I get seeing other people's mocs. Maybe it's because I've looked at it so damned much that it's just nothing special to me anymore, that it's been such a grind to get to this point. Anyway, without further ado, here's (hopefully) pictures! Front : Rear: Ohhh! There's some portraits on the wall with a previous Mr and Mrs of the mansion! They look glum and eerily real... Ahhh! Their faces turned angry! (with a simple pull of a technic axle the heads change to angry faces, there are 2 sets of heads. Not enough space to fully rotate, but can also rotate left and right a bit to look like they're following you with their looks!) Ground floor entrance with spiral stairs to the right to go up to first floor, and the living room to the left. Leading from that goes to the kitchen with just a cooker. Up from there leads out to the conservatory. An organ with bone chair I'm trying to design, for the living room. First floor. Left side is a living room/hobby room/study or something. In the middle in the master bedroom. I accidentally deleted all the dark red pieces so the left room has floor tiles missing g and the bed covers disappeared, seems I saved it when I did that too! Ensuite on the right. Bright red parts are wip and not finalised. I'm struggling with creating my own bathroom stuff. The dresser in the top left will have a 2x4 tile as a mirror, which will fit in the clips, just not in LDD. I'm quite pleased with that. Also, the floor bat is semi 3D! Loft area. Every creepy haunted house has secret deaths in it, this is no different! Skeleton in the chimney, but this one's come alive and breaking out! Ahhh! There is a light brick just above it inside the chimney, it'll have a glow in the dark head. Light brick activated by pushing the top centre 4 chimney pots. Am quite pleased how it works, well hidden. A creepy mirror in the top right, with cobweb in the left, and a coffin! Too scary to look inside it though, might be a dead body, or a vampire! The top spire will come apart in 2 sections. These are always the most imposing aspect of a haunted house, that single round window hinting that something could be up there, watching you! Oh no! It's a dead body hanging from the spire! There was something creepy behind the window after all... Wonder what the story behind that skeleton is... The red bricks will be replaced by string so it can actually swing there. Thanks for looking! I look forward to any suggestions for improvements or what to add for furniture in what rooms etc... I want to stay away from electrical items such as a modern TV, microwave, or computer etc, I want it to have an older feel to it.

This build was based on LEGO set 4756 (called Shrieking Shack ) from the 2004 Harry Potter / Prisoner of Azkaban movie line, with a greenhouse from the C-model of the 2017 Creator set 31065 (Park Street Townhouse) and a sedan based on the one in the 2009 Indiana Jones set 7682 (Shanghai Chase). I also added a big front porch to complete the house's Victorian asthetic. The model swings open on two hinges, one for the main house so you can access the detailed inside, and a second in the greenhouse so you can open it up to place figures. Also, the front of the house is supposed to have a 1 x 1 number tile next to the front door, like this one here. In the original Harry Potter set there was a secret passage in the chimney, which I have removed. Also, the model locks shut on two Technic pins, just like most of my buildings. One pin is in the main part of the house, while another is in the green house. The inside features a bed, inspired by set 10228 (Monster Fighters' Haunted House) staircase with railing, couch, telephone, and phonograph. The kitchen area has a stove, sink, plus a table and two chairs. The greenhouse area was inspired by the similar version from the C-model of the 2017 Creator set 31065 (Park Street Townhouse). My version is a bit bigger with an eight stud wide window roof, whereas the original set has a 6 wide top. This model was based off of set 7682 (Shanghai Chase) from 2009, plus a sloped rear design inspired by the yellow car from set 10200 (Custom Car Garage). The model can seat two figures side by side and has opening doors. BUILDER'S NOTES: The LDD file is is available here. Adventurers - Johnny Thunder's office and car - real life MOC

(I have put the older pictures of the previous model in the spoiler tag below. This way, you can compare the models of the building and car.) This Adventurers model was inspired by my original Johnny Thunder office building from 2015. I modified it into a corner building with a tower like in set 10255 (assembly square).The building is modular, and comes apart into three sections: roof, second floor and main floor. This model is my actually second tallest creation, as it's shorter than Sam Sinister's Mansion and only slightly taller than my Saloon. Here you can see Johnny Thunder and his car (the aptly-named "Treasure Raider") outside the building. The rear of the building is blank, as it it would be sandwiched next to other buildings. The vent on the roof leads from the stove on the second floor. The lower floor features a cabinet from set 10228 (Haunted House) and a 1920's style ivory phone borrowed from set 10218 (Pet Shop). A hat rack (also from the Pet Shop set) is next to the wall opposite the desk. The far wall features some treasure from Johnny and his friends many adventurers, such as the Golden Shield from "Orient Expedition", a T-Rex tooth from "Dino Island", a trident from the "Quest for Atlantis", the replica hammer of the Thunder god from the "Age of Ragnarok", the helmet of a dwarf from "Middle Zealand", and many others artifacts. The upper floor features Johnny's bed, a stove, table with root beer bottle, and a radio / record player. This model was inspired by the tan car in set 7628 (Shanghai Chase) from the Indiana Jones them. The car now features a hard-top roof instead of the original fabric one, with one section of the roof being removable to allow for two figures to be seated inside plus a rear-mounted spare tire. The model also has a rear-mounted spare tire, located right next to the taillights. The inside of the car seats two figures side-by-side. 3/4/17 Major update complete: I added new pictures of the updated house and car, plus i put the older models into a spoiler tag for you to compare between old and new. Hi, Does anybody knows about LEGO set which had been retired and came back after some time? I wrote to LEGO with question about availability of 10228. And they responded me that it is no longer available etc. However, they also wrote that it is possible (or rather - because they wrote in Polish - not out of the question), that this set will back. I wonder if it is only conventional phrase, or maybe there are some chances for return of Haunted House?

Hello fellow Eurobrickers, Have you ever wondered how set 10228 Haunted House would look like if it was to be renovated into a brand new home with a garden all around? Well, I did. Which is why I started to build this renovation about a year and a half ago. However, life got in the way of the building process and the renovation got shelved until an unspecified date. However, it was only 2 weeks ago that I wanted to restart the renovation and got to building, with the following result (click to view larger image): However, that was when I realised there were a lot of bricks I didn't have in my collection that I needed for this renovation, so I got to Bricklinking. Ultimately, I ended up with 12 Bricklink orders with a total amount of 200 euros. And even then I wasn't done with ordering parts yet. There are still some parts that need to be ordered, but I'll only order them when the build calls for it. For example, I've already ordered quite a lot of blue slopes for the roof. Yesterday, I continued the build and ended up with the following WIP (click to view larger image): I won't be able to build much due to life getting in the way, but I'll try my best to keep you guys updated once or twice a week. I have a masterplan for my modular buildings and it uses the haunted house (HH) along with the modular buildings (MB). But the HH does not have a baseplate so it does not fit well. Also, it opens by swinging, differently from the MB - the HH is not modular!. So my solution was to place it on a corner (my layout is a mere row of the buildings, I don't have the space for something else) with a little gap between it and the next building and ... a baseplate that would allow the swinging! Being kind of a purist, I don't like to change a set, so what I did was to add stuff. The HH itself will be exactly as it is supposed to be, no modification except for the fence that was expanded. The HH will sit atop this base that I created (with a little help from my daughter). It was all created in LDD then later made into real bricks. I have two pictures only to show and the HH is not yet assembled. And please understand that I am an unexperienced mod'er/moc'er. I started creating with Lego two months ago. From the back From the front Question: how do I put a thumbnail of a picture here so that when I click it it will open the full picture in another tab or window? The tree and the car are from the Werewolf set. I am/was too lazy/beginner to design a nice tree. And Major Quinton actually is the owner of the house, He needs to take better care of it...
