  1. Hi,

If I could say one thing... I'm really disappointed at LEGO abandoning 9V. I've invested a lot into it, and I'm really wondering why I shouldn't just go back to HO and sell the LEGO. I still like LEGO Castle and Star Wars (4/5/6). I've noticed people like Grunneger's track that might help keep 9V alive; I've also seen some other options (converting the new plastic track to conducting via copper tape); if there was a solution... maybe using O gauge and coming up with a way to make it work with LEGO (adapting some generic motor to LEGO), I'd be a lifetime fan, as no one can pull that out from under you like LEGO did with 9V (and 12V fans certainly have my sympathy, as well)..

in former days I had also marklin trains.

had to choose of my father, marklin or legotrains

    I found marklin very beautiful,

but once placed you could drive only.

    I chose then for lego,

what was in that time not logical.

    marklin had beautiful landscapes,

lego had even none green bricks

I lie , you saw there sometimes in a publicity, but you could buy none

we return 36 years in the time, i was 12

my father did not see this sitting, he saw kinder marklin.

but what I'm glad now, that I remained by lego.

Oh yeah, I'm also a model designer for the LEGO video games so I get to see some quite priviliged stuff from LEGO from time to time ;)

I have seen some of youre creations on Flickr

There are very beautiful creations on it.

Thanks you for sharing youre ideas.

  3. The technique doesn't depend on how far the wall is from the tracks so you could make it wider if you wanted, or you could build the wall lower, or raise the track within the walls so the train clears it.

    Thanks for de repley

I think that i must go for a system like this...

  4. 2 x 1 bricks joined together have a bit of flex as shown below

    3646239127_cdf64d0d56.jpg

    I have a question

can the train 7897 drive on this bridge ?

with the nose that comes so much further?

that is perhaps the solution for my own layout

these train can never drive at my layout.

he takes all trees with him,

the nose goes too far from the tracks

    Patrick

Your website is an ultimate inspiration to all train fans! I especially like your approach to layout building though I am probably too orthodox in my layout thinking to go without baseplates under track :sceptic:

    Your Christmas setup is great!

Could you give some details about all this lightning? Is it all based on '70 and '80 system or a separate invention?

BTW, your train collection is just stunning. I should probably skip on with my signature here ... :classic:

The lights i make on the chistmas layout,

    was mij on invention...

Het is based on hightensitie leds..

You find the leds in the elektronica shops

Here you have information of the normal leds, noth the hightensitie

    these need another capacitance.

  6. Tunnels

Some under you have already seen probably my tunnel

My first tunnel left in the layout,it has been made in an angle,

    for double tracks.

here you see the different the phases of advancement

    my left tunnel and montain

Now I am building more larger tunnels on the right side of the layout

these must be finished with green (trees and plants)

    trees and plants

    see updates 2 and 3

  7. That's a pretty complete collection of Lego trains. Is there any train since 1980 that you don't have yet? :classic:

Just for curiousity: how many of your trains did you buy back in the 70s, 80s and 90s where they were sold in shops, and how many did you buy second-hand in recent years?

I have the complete 7000 series

its difficult to say when I have bought this trains… you can see it approximately, to the date of pictures

when i bought all trains (website : own engines)

The most in the years 1980 up to 2000

I have the complete 9volt series

+ all the remains after the 9volt series (10000 series)

Now i go back in the time en buy the 700 series and the 100 series

    :classic:
