2017 City Sets - Rumours and Discussion

Really hoping the pizza van blends seamlessly with the Pizza boy CMF. I did several of those with the hopes of putting together a little shop at some point.

Marvel Superheroes 2017 - Set Discussion

DC Superheroes 2016 - Rumors and Discussion

Hey guys, I know it's early, and in most cases we're all working with little more than unconfirmed rumors.... But according to the consensus intel in this thread, what's the price point for the retro BatCave set?

2016 City Sets - Rumours and Discussion

Seems like Prison Island is just a huge missed opportunity... Could have been a really unique and clever sub theme of police.

    Nexo Knights 2016

"THESE NEXO KNIGHTS TOYS ARE KIDS STUFF!!!!!" Well, Yeah. I think the theme description establishes that. If it doesn't sound like your cup of tea, don't buy it.

    Which set should I buy?

Love this thread... Okay, I have about $100USD burning a hole in my pocket, so WHICH SET SHOULD I BUY? (Cue the game show music, lol) 1. 60076 City Demolition Site 2. 60096 City Deep Sea Operation Base 3. 70413 Pirates The Brick Bounty 4. 76035 DC Super Heroes JokerLand 5. Or do I put the money into savings and get a deal on 60052 (the blue) Cargo Train I'm leaning towards the pirate ship, which would be my second... But open to suggestions

Marvel Superheroes 2016 Rumors And Discussion

Marvel promoting it's overly widespread, diluted brand has affected the quality of this theme. There, I said it. We've gotten figs such as Nova, Luke Cage, a really lame Rhino, even the Iron Spider, now characters like Hyperion that were just lame studio competition pieces at best....and all the while there are beloved, time-treasured characters that continue to be neglected. Where's the rest of the X-Men? Where's Daredevil? The Punisher? Where's even a standalone Thing if you won't give us the FF set we all really want??! AAAARGGHHHH I JUST WANT MY COLOSSUS MINIFIG WHY WON'T YOU DELIVER MARVEL AND LEGO???!!!!!
  8. Sorry-- title was too long. It said: WHAT DC OR MARVEL HERO (OR VILLAIN) DO YOU MOST WANT TO SEE MADE INTO LEGO FORM? So it's probably a bit premature to start this topic, but it seems like conversation has already gone this route on the ComicCon thread and if there's anything that the Superheroes theme has given us, it's the audacity to dream!! We've seen the prototypes, and we have a concrete list of what to expect in the first wave of the Superhero line. So with that being said, throw away what we know about what factions of each comic universe have been announced and let's play "What If?" What DC or Marvel Hero would you most like Lego to produce in minifig form in the Superheroes theme? Obviously we've seen the list of what figs will arrive in 2012, but who's on your wish list for the theme overall?? Personally, I've already voiced my desire for a Colossus minifig, in chrome or otherwise! I'd also love to see a Nightcrawler, Hawkman (angel wing piece?!), and although I'm not even a fan of the comic I'd love to see a Moon Knight fig. How about the rest of you???
  9. In light of the rollout of Series 5, I've been thinking about this topic alot lately and wonder what the rest of you thought. We've all heard plenty about the best figures of the Collectable Minifig line, and although everyone has had their favorites, it's hard to argue which have been the best. The Cheerleader, The Spartan & The Elf certainly come to mind, and with my personal bias I would probably add the Hockey Player as well. But which have been THE WORST? It's hard to turn in a Grade A effort sixteen times every series, and there have certainly been some figs that fall well short of the standard they have thus far achieved. Which do you think are the duds? Personally, I'd have to go with: Series 1: The Crash Test Dummy & The Diver Series 2: The Witch or the Weightlifter Series 3: The Sumo & The Space Alien Series 4 (In my opinion the strongest overall, hard to pick any): Maybe the Surfer Girl Series 5 (also hard to decide as I'm about to head out for them now): Maybe the Zookeeper All in all, I think we're seeing much stronger efforts in terms of each series as a whole-- earlier series always felt like there were 'filler figs,' like a music album with extra tracks just to make it seem more substantial. Which have I missed? Thoughts?

In the video, they also show a wide shot at one point of the huge display builds of a Diver & shark. Just above the display you can see all of the Undersea Explorer sets, including the big sub sitting on a rotating platform to the right. REALLY looking forward to seeing expanded views of that set-- looks like a really big, solid rig. Exciting!

2015 City Sets - Rumours and Discussion

LOVE the Diving sets, at least what we've seen thus far.... But I can't be the only one that's a bit frustrated with the figures' color scheme not matching that of their vehicles???! Wish they were blue & yellow like the ship.
  13. Short of Mr. gold, I haven't missed a CMF yet.... And I certainly don't see that trend ending here. Every series leak we have hordes of adult collectors who abhor the new kids toys for being... Too kiddish. Like every series, not every fig is a home run, and so often the reason why a fig fails is because of economical (ie parts rehashing) decisions. So Lego may very well know what's coming from the AFOL community and move forward regardless. In all, I'm plenty happy with what we've seen here, and I applaud TLG for doing something different with a line in its 14th (technically 16th) incarnation. Sure, the Frankenstein rocker is a bit of a reach, and the scientist mold might be the single worst new piece in the entire CMF theme, but 2 out of 16 is certainly forgiveable in my opinion. Between Monster Fighters, the Haunted House, & previous CMFs I have a tub devoted solely to the Monster faction, and I look forward to adding to it. I also find it curious that so many readers have begged for more zombies, and now that they are confirmed, they're being condemned as rehashes? I love the Pirate Zombie and the Cheerleader as well, and the businessman zombie might be the only army builder of the series. Curious to see if we also get an alternate Headless Horseman different from the upcoming Scooby Doo incarnation in this series....

Bank on a comic style Green Goblin, too- that piece in the S13 Goblin has to be put to use elsewhere!

I'm one state away from New Jersey and we don't have as much as one of the new sets. I'm inclined to question the accuracy of such a claim.

DC Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussions

New capes will certainly make it easier to store the Superhero figs. Keep mine in those plastic shoe box-sized totes, and in the Hero bin all of the figs are carefully laid upside down to preserve the capes. These sound a bit easier to manage, at least if they're anything like the Hun Warrior's in Series 13.

2015 City Sets - Rumours and Discussion

For my fellow impatient Americans, the US Lego Shop site is listing the following sets as "Coming Soon On 1 Dec 2014:" 60065 ATV Patrol 60075 Excavator and Truck 60082 Dune Buggy Trailer 60083 Snowplow Truck Have to also think that if the official site's rolling them out this week, then TRU won't be far behind.

Marvel Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussion

No. As you can see above, it just sort alludes to the idea that you can dress it up with them. I think it's meant to be a bit more random, The diagram at the top of the pic is all they give you-- on the back of it is the instructions for Rocket & his gun.

Marvel Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussion

Hey guys, don't know if it's been announced before or not, but I'm sitting here with a few copies of the 5002145 Rocket Raccoon polybag, a Toys R Us exclusive. My local store (USA) put a huge supply out early, and apparently they weren't even ringing up as available in the system yet. So, I don't know if they're part of a special deal or not, but I can confirm that they are to be held off U.S. shelves UNTIL NOVEMBER 16th. Obviously they pulled the whole batch after letting me buy them. So again, to review:The ROCKET RACCOON POLYBAG will sell in US stores for $4.99 each starting no earlier than NOVEMBER 16thAlso, for hose of you that have seen the image before, you might have wondered what the sticker sheet in the pic was about. Apparently it's a HUGE sticker sheet (41 separate decals) to be added to the Milano set, creating further technical detail and battle damage: http://i60.tinypic.com/70huzs.jpg I'm sure I could be wrong, but I don't ever remember Lego putting a sticker sheet in one set intended for another. I don't see myself using them, as tempting as that "I Love the 80s" one might be...
  21. My army builders is time were the Space Miner & the Hun. Now have 7 of each, and will probably get about 8 more of the Huns. Otherwise, I have my series set & am content to not collect any more. Well, maybe a few more pizza boys, lol

2015 City Sets - Rumours and Discussion

Of course they're just prelim pics, but... The Swamp Police are just... Weird. It's not a bad idea, I suppose, but the crook hovels are really the only things I like about the theme. Snow plow is a given, and I like a lot of the smaller vehicle driven sets. But it's kind of funny that the best CITY set are actually coming out of the Creator line-- the Flower Shop & Cafe, and the new Grocery & Toy Shop are among the best City sets what they want, and seemingly the only that are giving fans more of what they want, civilian structures.

Super Heroes 2014 Rumors & Discussion

I think it was genius to put Rocket in the $40 set. If it was in an $80-100 USD set, it'd scare moms off.... But at 40 it's enough for kids & AFOLs to want the set just for the fig alone, and the price is small enough to make moms relent.

DC Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussions

Personally the last thing I want is another Batmobile... I recently put together the entire rebooted DC theme minus Arkham & the UCS Tumbler to re-organize the sets for storage (I know I know, I should've taken pics), and it was kind of ridiculous how many vehicles and ordnance The Batman has in Lego form. Land, sea, and air, you name it, he's got multiple options-- he's an army waiting to happen. So yes, I'm thrilled about the JL-themed sets and all of the new possibilities they introduce. Just no more Batmobiles... Unless, of course, it's the '66 Model. THAT'S ENTIRELY DIFFERENT :)

REVIEW: 71007 LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 12

I've been looking forward to this review for weeks, thanks WF!! The best part is that it means we're only a few weeks away from seeing this set out in the wild!!!
