Very nice work! The ship, the tree, and the water all look really good! -

Cool tower design! I feel like the tree, while it has some good angles, is too twisted to be really solid. -
Great job on the dual portcullises and the angled towers!

Cool scene! The curved arches in the wall are a nice detail to add some depth. -
Really neat castle! I have to mention those trees. They look normal at first glance, but the spindly trunks and the angled leaves add that essential Nocturnus flair.

Nice job on the palisade and the landscaping! I think the thin supports look a little too modern. Maybe you could try some 1x1 cylinders instead? -
Ch II: Team DeGothia: Cat A: The Kaliphlin Medical Corps
Thomas of Tortuga replied to Gabe's topic in Guilds of Historica
Really nice work! Even though it's in Avalonia, this is unmistakably a Kaliphlin scene. The ostriches inexplicably fit this scene really well, and the plague mask is absolute genius. In addition, the rocks and the tower are both perfectly sized, and the overhangs are especially nice. -

The tower design looks really good, and the scaffolding is a nice detail. I think you should have added some brown cones in between the cylinders in the scaffolding, though, to add some extra interest. Nice work! -

Ch II: Team DeGothia: Cat A: An Avalonian Blood Vessel
Thomas of Tortuga posted a topic in Guilds of Historica
Many Avalonians have been stricken by the plague. Some flee, others are quarantined, still others seek the help of alchemists and doctors. Inside all of them, though, one force is constantly striving to combat the ravages of the plague: the white blood cells! The dastardly plague viruses might seek to destroy their victim, but their foes are always vigilant! Outside, great forces move, trying to stop the spread of the plague. No recognition or acknowledgement is given to the humble immune system. But do they care? No! These steadfast cells devote their lives to the service of humanity. In these days of trial, let's always remember their sacrifices, along with those of the larger Historicans. Admittedly, I'm still fairly new to GoH. Nevertheless, I would venture to guess this is one of the more unusual challenge entries. If one reads the challenge prompt carefully, "Depict a character working to suppress the plague (road closure, quarantine, etc)..." it would seem the character could be of any size. Surely nobody could deny little Harold the leukocyte his chance to enter? Although I know I'm not the first person to use this piece in a moc, I was fairly proud of this NPU, so it merits a mention. Fig Microbe-less! I think I did a fairly good job making the blood vessel walls, or at least the floor, curved. Nevertheless, I am compelled to admit that my perception of blood vessels comes entirely from Magic School Bus, so feel free to critique UoP Credits: +1 Micro building- 30 replies

Nice job! I really like the stone blocks in the wall, so +1 for that. Maybe you could use some 1x2 plates at the ends, so that the blocks are staggered instead of being in straight rows. +1 for the stone roof- I like the angles, they go really well together. However, I'm not sure stone was used for roofing in medieval times. Maybe call it shingles instead? The wooden roof seems a little plain to me, however. It changes textures several times, from palisade bricks to angled bricks to palisade bricks again. This could work, but the pattern of the gold studs and the height of the roofline also both change over the door. I feel like this portion just isn't refined enough. +1 on the landscaping- it looks great, although the inclusion of a creek =underneath is ... interesting- 29 replies
