Book II - Kaliphlin: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Thomas of Tortuga replied to SkaForHire's topic in Guilds of Historica
What's the requirement to get in the "characters" post? I think I'm as eligible as some of the other members that are included... -

Nice. I love how it's totally unprotected from the snowy weather, but nobody cares because they have beer -

Mount up! Rhopalocera Lagargander (Giant Butterfly)
Thomas of Tortuga replied to Kai NRG's topic in Guilds of Historica
Excellent work on the butterfly's wings, as well as the saddle. I really like the trans red in there. One thing I would change on the base is if you're going to do that style, to try to cover up the black more, and make it look more like one giant blob of shrubbery. -
Very nice job on the clean wall textures here. I love your use of dark orange in the wall, as well as the tan section. The ground looks a little too flat with all the plates. Don't be afraid to leave some studs sticking up or use some plates with the tiles. They can make your landscaping look a lot more realistic. +1 on all credits.

Really nice work. One thing I would change is the dark orange ground. I think the orc peasants give enough color to that section without the funky ground. Besides, the olive and dk green are different enough to contrast nicely without a third color.

Very nice work on the bellows. For the anvil, you could use a Travis brick (1x1 with studs on all sides) and put a cone on one side and a cheese slope on the other. I think that's scaled correctly.

Book II - Kaliphlin: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Thomas of Tortuga replied to SkaForHire's topic in Guilds of Historica
I'm in, if there's still room. I recently built a 16x16 tavern overnight for another challenge's kickoff. I can make November 15th -
This brightly-colored beast is known as the Lesser Guylinea dragon. Like the mythical Gila Monster, it is clad in vibrant orange-and-black scales. The creature spends most of its time underground in the desert caves of Kaliphlin, where it uses a long lure to attract prey before electrocuting them with four organic electrodes in its jaws. Because of these flashy hunting methods, this beast is among the most prized for riding in parades. A closer view of the ceremonial saddle. The dragon without its saddle. (I hope it looks a little less cluttered like this :) UoP Credits: +1 Brickbuilt Animal

That's a gorgeous griffin. Also, the background is perfect. You're making me want to build something in Nestlands now!

Yeah, I hate to repeat what everyone else said, but I would focus on "the pieces to build" with your "very tight budget," not sigfigs -
Very nice! I love those trees
