LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors
mrfootball replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I would absolutely love to see a release like this. I love the DK books and enjoyed the 'behind the scenes' vignettes in both the Star Wars Visual Encyclopedia and the The Lego Book. I would love to see a 'Concept Tour' book and as a creative professional, I would enjoy reading about the creative process at Lego. -
I have the book that has all of the original starships and vehicle sketches and you've done a wonderful job recreating this snowspeeder! Great job!

Outstanding. Thanks for sharing!

So I guess we'll have to wait on the Hoth Ion Cannon and Power Generator sets... Oh well, This sounds good too. I love Hoth, I'll buy anything Hoth.
-
Picked up a Tantive IV in my first order and on the second, the Grievous Starfighter along with the Lego MBA sets 2-6 subscription....I'll use my accrued VIP points and promo code for the pick a brick for MBA set 1 next week.

Had to do the same thing. The customer service rep said that the poster automatically goes into each box, so you should get it.

The big sets make a lot of money for the Lego retail stores and are the "Flagship" items and WOW pieces that get people (who may not initially know about or be interested in Lego) to come into the hobby. I know that the local Lego store near me sells some 30 Lego Death Stars per week, generating nearly $48K/month in sales alone for that one item.
-
Count me in for one. I'm pretty certain this will be a big seller with those Star Wars fans who aren't traditionally Lego customers.
-
IMO, Lego needs another 'bigger than life' WOW kit. A UCS Super Star Destroyer would fit that bill and would be timely as the 30th Anniversary of RotJ comes along in 2013. PS - I recall having read some story (with actual photos) about the Lego design team having created a Super Star Destroyer several years back. I wonder if they've been sitting on this for awhile?

Never sick of Star Wars. Sometimes other things will pique my interest and I'll put Star Wars aside for awhile, but I never get sick of it.

I'm a big OT fan and would've liked to see more, but I understand, they did come out with a bunch of nice OT sets this past year that will occupy the shelves along with the new stuff coming out, providing balance to the force...

LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars
mrfootball replied to BrickBob Studpants's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Since the Lego Star Wars video game franchise is the best selling Star Wars video game franchise in history, one would think they bumped it back to early 2011 (rather than having it ready for the 2010 Christmas season) in order to bolster their bargaining position with LucasFilm and the new licensing agreement? -
Do they do Black Friday in other countries or is this annual shopping orgy exclusive to the States?
-
My 6-year old loves the game. He and his cousins think its the best thing ever.

I grew up in the 1970's and 80's, a Star Wars fan and a Lego fan. The first set I can remember was the outstanding Lego Galaxy Explorer. Thirty some years later, my son received the Echo Base set as a Christmas Gift and we were off! 40+ sets later, the whole family now loves Legos and I'm trying to get the great sets I missed. Long way to go, but it sure is a whole lot of fun! Can't wait to build this!

Is it worth it to get 6209 at a high prize today?

FYI - If you live near a Border's Bookstore, you can pick one up for around $60-65 with the coupons they send out regularly. No question, get the new set. Better figures, nice design. You can always do what I did and order replacement parts off Bricklink if you want to change the colors or order a smoke glass canopy like I did...for a few bucks. -
I didn't but then I went ahead and enabled it, and still I can't get it to load. It'll make the sound like it's loading, but nothing appears.
-
Did anyone else have problems viewing the file in Lego Digital Designer? It wouldn't load for me.

We need a Hoth Ion Cannon set and/or a Hoth Generator set. I also like the idea of the Outrider for a new expanded universe set. There was a beautiful alternate build done with the Midi Falcon that I saw on Flickr. X-wing could be improved I'd love to see them release the Yavin 4 base set they have displayed in the SW Lego Visual Encyclopedia How about the Owen Lars Tatooine homestead set complete with skeletons?

REVIEW: 7754 Home One: Mon Calamari Star Cruiser
mrfootball replied to starstreak's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Built this over the weekend. My kids and their cousins love this playset and have spent hours playing with it. -
How do you determine which sets have Chinese parts?

The motorized At-At which was terrific in so many ways (fun, advanced build with engineering, walking action, etc) is very hard to find here in the States. It's usually sold out at Toys R Us and difficult if not impossible to find at the Lego store. I have one and it's one of my favorite sets. While the 10178 was in high demand, it wasn't the type of model that a younger kid could build. This new AT-AT is more of a mass market friendly At-At, that looks good with lots of playability. If these get distributed widely, they'll fly off the shelves.
