    [REVIEW] 10264 - Corner Garage

I just finished building the garage last night! Before buying, I wasn't a fan of the building; it just didn't look beautiful, though a garage shouldn't? Anyways after having built it, my opinion of the building remains the same; It is a fairly ugly building. I did however love some of the building techniques used, such as the diagonal facade, and that brilliant garage door design. I'm glad I got the set for the building experience? I've been really lukewarm about the last couple modular buildings. I hope next year has a more appealing one. (but who am I kidding i'll end up buying it even if i hate the thing) Also having a macaw loose in a vet waiting room is a lawsuit waiting to happen.

    2019 LEGO Architecture

I got the Paris skyline set! I really enjoy it
  3. Is there instructions/parts list for a more standard box trailer? I feel it will look better for display purposes. The functions of the cranes and container are nice, but it looks like a mess on display.
  4. How difficult do you think it would be to create this at the same scale as the original porche and bugatti? This car being slightly smaller is bothering me.
  5. 8440 also used the hoses for engine detail. That was my first ever technic set as a kid and I thought that aspect was amazing
  6. So you are saying Everything is Awesome?
  7. I'm excited for this; these big complicated technic builds are my favorite, and my son loves them too
  8. I was extremely unhappy with the 7898 Cargo Train Deluxe. I wanted to give RC a chance, only to find that the RC motor couldn't even pull the whole set. I later found out that my motor wheels were part of a bad batch, but that is besides the point. So, I decided to give power functions a shot. I purchased a rechargable battery pack, an extension cable, a IR sensor, and a power functions motor. I thought the modification would be easy since the train was already an RC train. I was wrong. After a very difficult time trying to make it all fit, and working with a smaller plate, i finally made everything work. Here are the results of how I made it work. I wanted to keep it as true as possible to the original train. In the end I had to get rid of the rear driver seat to make room for the IR sensor. The top of it comes out right underneath the black thing. There is plenty of room for the remote to control the train still, and the sensor top is very discrete. The battery box fits right behind the driver. I used a dark bluish gray plate because i already had a 6x28 one available. A black one would have cost me 10 bucks and a week on bricklink. The original was a 6x30. I had to use 1x4 and 1x6 plates in order to extend the length. The roof of the driver, and the roof over the IR sensor both come off; the driver to remove him, and the IR sensor to change the channel. There is a PF extension cable that runs under the battery box and to the lights. All of the extra cable is stored under the IR sensor and in the hollow part of the rear of the engine. You turn the battery box on and off by pressing the little circle plate on the top of the train. I stole this idea from the 2010 cargo train. This is a small layout I put up on my table. I am happy to learn that with a PF motor, the train engine easily pulls 10+ cars very fast. I haven't made a track big enough to really push the limits. It also moves faster than the new 2010 cargo train. Here are added images of the modified boxcar. All I really did was toss it on a 6x24 plate and add wedge plates to lock in the pallets. all three pallets fit.

MOC: 7898 Cargo Train converted to Power Functions!

Wow, I posted this almost a decade ago. This train has been boxed away for years. I probably can't provide more pictures, but I can tell you that I used some good ole fashion snot techniques for the tank below the train plate. The design is similar to under the maersk train
  11. The Arocs is a great set, and you can still get it at retail price from walmart.com. It has a large number of functions and a great set overall
  12. I got the lights for the trains, and they work well. So far I am disappointed by the line do the the lack of motors.

Chances of an Emerald Night re-release?

Man, so much eliteism here. Sure it may not conform to your ideas of what a steam engine should be, but it is a fun set and an interesting build, which is all that should matter in a mass produced childrens toy.

    10264 Corner Garage

Man I wish my rent was only 1500 a month. People here don't agree with the high rents we have to pay. We just don't have much choice in the matter.

    10264 Corner Garage

I'm impressed: Not because of the building, but because It didn't get leaked as far as I know. (i know it being a garage was leaked, but I didn't see any pictures?) As far as teh buildig goes, i don't know if I i like it yet, but I'll probably buy it because Lego could create a modular building that looked like a giant turd and I'd probably still buy it.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

I don't know if I like the idea of a garage but I'll wait for official images for judgement. I doubt the model will be bad, and I'm sure it will have some great building techniques. Even if I'm not a huge fan of the model I'll probably buy it anyway like the diner

Good eye! you can see the slide if you look closely
  21. I love your loader more than I like the A model. I'm curious what it looks like with the 42030 bucket on it. I"ll probably build it once I get the set. out of curiosity, do you have a picture of leftover parts?
  22. which loader lifts more weight?
  23. Wow, the two loaders side by side look great! I think I prefer the old loader as a model (especially since my son likes to play with it) but I love the details on the Zeux! I have the Claas wheels on my RC Volvo loader, and they look really good on it.

    9396 help

I made a mistake on the bugatti set (positioned a beam wrong by one stud) and Had to disassemble hours of work in order to fix it. Haven't made a mistake like that since!
