    Future Superhero Set Ideas

Some of my favorite characters are GLs. I quite like John, Guy, and Kyle. Among several others. But I find Aquaman to be a sadly underrated character. The Superfriends saddled him with a stigma that only an amazing movie will erase. Then again, Batman hasn't fully shaken the camp of the 66 show, but has had enough exposure that it is now looked upon as a small, charming facet of a multilayered character. There is no doubt the latest push has made GL a household name, but that stinker of a movie really set the plans back a bit. They were trying to position GL as DC's Iron Man. It actually damaged Geoff Johns' Hollywood clout. Still, the character itself hasn't suffered as much as the brand and the real names associated with it, but they're all still doing well. But it'll be a long time before the character gains any steam in tinseltown again. Look how long it took to get The Lone Ranger back on the screen. 1981-2013. And I'll wager it'll be at least that long again before anybody can try again. Stink doesn't wash off that easy if your name isn't George Lucas. Before anybody interjects with Superman returns, keep in mind that Superman Returns was a box office success, just not a smash hit, which was what they actually wanted.

Super Heroes 2014 Rumors & Discussion

Like it or not, they decided not to do leg printing on the Superheroes sets. I imagine as a cost cutting measure, as the printing is the most expensive part of a set. Not buying a figure or set isn't going to send the message to TLG. You should contact them directly.

Cutting off the nose to spite the face? The Flash is the main draw of that set, but if the rest of it doesn't measure up, I can see where you wouldn't see value. The Riddler, and the Dragster is a waste, though Batman, Flash, and the Batmobile balanced it for me. Your mileage may vary.

Aquaman is a cooler character than Green Lantern, IMO (well, that particular lantern, at any rate). I still ain't over Emerald Twilight. But his absence in LEGO is ridiculous. Especially since he's gotten a few Imaginext toys since that laughable bomb of a movie.

I like The Flash's tv costume, but no yellow boots? Hmm a bit to take in.

Wow! MM sold out? Glad I didn't wait! I was planning a second order, for another one, but maybe I'll hold off a while.

    Regarding language.

I have given much thought to a Lego comic. I have a story worked out that I have been brainstorming since college. But the story features collegiate humor and salty language. This being a forum for adults, I want to know if there would be any limits if I chose to do it in a brick medium, regarding language?

If Mojo = Mongul, he's a low rent, bargain basement Mongul. Mongul is a certified badass.

A classic Goblin would be good. Maybe a small set with Goblin, Gwen, and Spidey.

Super Heroes 2014 Rumors & Discussion

People want an army of characters, not the same guy (Spider Man) over and over. When it's the exact same figure, it's boring, unless it's a trooper. Avengers sets feature more characters. Give people something they don't have, and they'll snap it up. But if you already have a Spider Man, you reduce the appeal of the trike by 50% If you don't like Modern Electro, that's 100% because the build is no draw at all. If that had been Spidey in Stark Armor, you appeal to those who don't have Spider Man, those who like Iron Man, and those who already have a regular Spider Man, thus increasing the appeal by 150%

    What's your latest acquisition?

The Hobbit Barrel Escape is $25 at TRU.

What is your latest Licensed purchase?

I had a TRU 20% off coupon, I wanted to maximize the amount of minifigures for my money. I bought the Kraang Lab escape as I had no TMNT sets yet. Also, the Hobbit Barrel escape is now $25. Not sure why they have to use 2 'a's on Krang now, but he's a neat minifigure.

It will be a comic, not a video.

They dry up quick. Even the Movie police robot disappeared virtually overnight.
  19. I actually liked Metropolis Showdown a lot once I had built it. An easy way to get the hero and villain, the car is a fun solid build.

    Lego movie left me wondering...

The thing that blows me away are the people who can build from any angle. While it impresses me, a lot of the time it seems like they do it just because they know how.
