Nice! But why are the steps white? Most of the time they are in steel, wouldn't grey be a better color? Keep up the good work, this must already have cost to a fortune! -

I was referring to the monster 3 - I thought you were taking that model as a base. The rotation is hidden there. Don't be offended. I love your work. Just pointing out some things I notice. -

Just discovered another difference. On a real machine, the middle section does not rotate. In your case it rotates the other way around. But I don't think that can be solved. -

Nice! It's a bit difficult to see but aren't the crosses a bit too high from the floor? They almost touch the floor on a real machine I think. -

What about using the plastic tube from a vacuum cleaner? :-) -

How are you going to make the accordeon? Or are you going to leave the mechanism exposed? -

This is how the middle part looks in reality: https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/model/696bfac317c6d2974c73a472bff713a0/polyp-ocean-king-tunning-set Would be great if you could add some sloped stones on top and on the bottom. It's a very straight cylinder right now. -

Looking good! Much better with the large seats. However, still some problems with the scale. The entire middle structure is too big compared to the orginal, but I'm sure nothing can be done about that. The curvature of the arms is also incorrect, but that's how the Lego beams are so nothing can be done about that either. Nice job. -

I have the impression the seats and the rotating crosses are too small in relation to the entire machine. It seems the scale is not entirely correct? -

How are you going to make the big ball on top and the accordion underneath? -

Impressive! I do have the impression the motors are moving a bit too fast and they stop a bit too sudden... probably that will still be fixed? I do think you'll have a problem with the middle structure though. In the real model, there is a diamond shaped structure (de "ton"), I fear your structure is too thick in the middle to replicate this, right? -

Ok sorry... Time for a video to see things working and to avoid misunderstandings :-) -

Too bad the seats won't rotate. I think using a flex axle might be a good solution for this when motors on the arms are impossible. This is what Faller used as well in they Octopussy model. -

I've put it on EBay, if anyone's interested... http://www.benl.ebay.be/itm/-/201677788906? -
[MOC REVIEW] Akiyuki's Ball Factory

I've build this 'monster' but it is so big I cannot find a place for it in my house. What is the best place to sell the model (broken apart)? -

Have you seen this? Don't look at the crane, but at the ball factory. This seems to be another (improved?) version? -
[MOC] MAN TGS 8x4 Dump Truck
wimpie3 replied to M_longer's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
My build is ready! I've created a small video to show the result: My overall opinion: nice to build, good instructions, very detailed model, but... not sturdy at all. A light touch on the truck is enough to make some small pieces drop off. It's even hard to pick up and move the truck! I had to use glue on some elements to reduce my frustration. Several parts are connected with only one or two studs, that's asking for trouble.... -
What was your most difficult building experience?
wimpie3 replied to Richard Dower's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Without any doubt Akiyuki's Ball Factory... not difficult to build, but setting up the timing is a nightmare. One tooth off and the whole factory does not sync anymore... -

Currently building this machine, but having lots of problems to tuck away all the cables in the cabin. There simply is not enough room. Any help here? -
[MOC REVIEW] Akiyuki's Ball Factory
wimpie3 replied to Blakbird's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Guys, I need some help here. I'm having an issue with the second bucket chain. Please take a look at the attached image. I have the impression the chain is hanging really low on the underside. I've measured the chain multiple times, it has the correct length. When I run the machine, the chain often skips on the gear, causing a stuttering motion. Sometimes the chain also gets stuck at the on the support pillar (see the arrows on the image). I really haven't got a clue on what can be wrong here... -

Is it normal that the two chains (transporting the basket) are hanging very loose on the underside? I have counted the exact amount of links as instructed, but the chains do not fit tightly around the gears. -

Thanks, this seems to have done the trick. Wow, what a model. Building this thing from video/photo instructions is not so hard, the timing is not too complicated either, but the fact that the whole build is so "super sensitive" makes it very difficult. A little bit of friction due to the base plate slightly bending, a bush sitting a bit too far on an axle, a 1x1 brick slightly rotated... and yep, the whole machine breaks apart... Without any doubt the most impressive but most difficult thing I've ever build!
