LDD MOC: Long Railway Engine Shed

Could this work? Use some sort of hinge-plates/bricks to make the 10 degree angle and then cover the roof with 1x6 tiles? They do not cost that much on Bricklink but you'll need 384 (!) of them to cover the same space as the original slope elements did.

LDD MOC: Long Railway Engine Shed

Many thanks for the file! Your building looks great and this is something I would consider to put together in real bricks. I've found one concern however. The roof-slope piece 8x6 10degrees is not a very common brick and very expensive on Bricklink. Are there other elements that would look good and be more economical? http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=4515

I would certainly want to look closer at your design since an engine shed is something I really miss in my collection! It looks great!

    MOC: Local Train Station

As stated earlier in the thread I was hoping it would work out ok to make transportation possible. Now the station is packed down and ready for transportation for an exhibition in Oslo the coming weekend. Agreed. I will try to fill it up with more minifigs and life in the coming exhibition in Oslo and take some pictures of it. I have been thinking about the same thing. I'll try to think of something before the weekend starts. The station has some overhead wires originally. I linked to my Flickr-feed earlier in the thread, but I've just added some work-in-progress photos in the end of the Flickr-set, so here is the link to it again for those who missed it:

    MOC: Local Train Station

The last few months I've been working on a Lego-model of my local train station (Fredrikstad station in Norway). It's the first time I'm working on such a large project and I've learned a lot in the process. The most difficult aspect of this build was to recreate the curved platform.

    MOC: Local Train Station

Kieran: I hope so! I will be working on how to take it apart in sections the next couple of days as I need to transport it to Oslo. It's of course also important that the process of setting it up dosen't take to much time. I have been thinking a bit of it while building but I have some real challenges here. :)

    MOC: Local Train Station

Many thanks for all your nice comments! The station will be part of a big layout by Brikkelauget (norwegian LUG) on Lego Norway's 50th anniversary in the start of november. It's no secret! I have placed 1x2 bricks overlapping each other to build the platform "wall" (in lack of a better word). When placed like this the wall becomes flexible to a certain point. Then I've placed 2x8 and 2x16 plates on top of this with tiles on top. The end of these plates (which then also has been curved has been hided underneath the station and elevated platform. Oh, and btw, here are some pictures of the station itself:

    Lucky LEGO finds

I just purchased 10196 Grand Carousel as well as 10 of the sets in the Architecture-series for 2000 NOK. That is about 336 USD. I found the sets on a Norwegian equalent of Ebay. I'm actually not quite sure which Architecture-sets that are in the lot, as they are shipping to me now, but anyway the deal seems to be awesome!

This is my first attempt on a model of a norwegian train. The train is powered by a PF train engine. A photo of the real thing can be seen at the bottom.

This diorama is absolutely amazing! I keep watching the images day after day and my mind just keep saying: "I'll never be able to make anything close to this". Great work!

    MOD: Train Turntable Platform

Wonderful solution! This seems to be a very efficient way to make a turntable! Great work!

Your train looks superb! It looks just like the original. Personally I think 10 wide on Lego-trains is a bit wide, but that's just my opinion. Your model looks fantastic!

Thanks for all the positiv feedback. It's nice to hear that you liked the sides and the snow plow, I had a hard time figuring out those. I think I'll try with some stickers instead of the brick built logo and maybe do some changes on the top section between the phantographs.

Holiday Train 10173 + Power Functions?

There are two different approaches shown here: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=48965 I actually did my own version of Cecilie's idea yesterday, with all the PF-equipment in the caboose. I tried to put the engine under the tender, the reciever on top of the tender and the battery box in the passenger car, but my problem was that my tender wasn't heavy enough to get a god grip on the rails. With all the PF-equipment in the caboose that problem was solved. The only minor issue I see is that I can't have lights on the locomotive with this approach.

Winners of the Spaghetti Western Competition

Congratulations to all the winners! I only participated in category 1 but I'm so impressed by the contestants at place 1-3. Impressive builds!
  17. Here is my entry for the WW category 1. The "Western Train Railways". Both the name and the train is fictitious and probably not like any real train. This train just looks like it looks based on how my mind thought a western train should look like. The engine, with tender and it's four wagons. The train driver desperately tries to avoid the train robber to get control of the train. An overview of the train set from the side. The engine has working pistons. The PF-engine is located at the bottom of the tender, and the rest of the PF-gear is inside the first wagon. The first wagon is the goods wagon. It contains the batterybox and the PF reciever. Combined goods (gold) and saloon wagon. Inside the wagon you can see a robbery going on. All that gold is probably the reason! The passenger wagon. Inside the passenger wagon. The caboose. One of the railway-workers is relaxing without any knowledge of the robbery outside. Behind him is a little oven. I have uploaded a little video on Vimeo that shows the train running: http://vimeo.com/28818596 The images in this post can also be viewed on my Flickr-account: http://www.flickr.com/photos/hensolberg/sets/72157627505984913/ My first train moc! I really enjoyed building it! :)

How Many Trains Do You Own?

I own two 12v train sets, and two seperate train cars from my childhood: I've recently started to collect the new trains: Anyone have some cheap emerald night and Maersk train cars for sale? I'm currently building these two sets from bricks I own/buy:

    Electify Your Train Switches

This seems to me to be a really good solution! I would love to find out where I could find a load of these small engines. What are those Lego-parts you use there? I am an absolute "electric newbie" but this seems like something even I can pull of! :)

WTB: 12v sets, track and accessories

Hi, it's about 13,5 USD for shipping to USA from Norway (150 grams). This engine is also missing one of the wheels.

WTB: 12v sets, track and accessories

Okay, I have the items listed in sales channels here in Norway as well, so if someone shows interest before next weekend I will sell. Also, my original intention was to sell the whole lot.

WTB: 12v sets, track and accessories

Hi, have been to the postal office now, shipping will be 42 euro. Total weight (exluding that second transformator) is 4,5 kg, packaging adds another 2-300 grams.

WTB: 12v sets, track and accessories

Nice to hear that you are interested That wasn't a typo, the prices are high for those on Bricklink, but I'll give them to you for 3 Euro each if you buy the whole lot (exluding that one transformator you not was interested in.) The total will then be 286 euro for everything exluding the "transformator only". Without the 2 x "Wire with two 2-prong connectors without middle pin, 96 Studs Long 10 euro" the total will be 280 euro. Shipping will be approx. 50 euro. I'm going to the post office now to check the different shipping options. Total weight of the package will be 5-6 kg. If you like send me an e-mail (hen.solberg@gmail.com) for further arrangements.
