    Motorization question

I starting building a prototype of the motorization yesterday when the motor's arrived. I will test it on track tonight! I have built two of the four carriages as well so can test how it works pulling those. I tried putting rubber bands identical to the ones from Emerald Night on the BigBen Brick wheel, but they keep popping off. Any idea on how to fix?

    Motorization question

Here is an update, so @Duq this was your idea? It seems really tight and nice, and it seems I can fit it in! Here is an overall sketch of the train set, gathering parts for the carriages right now.

    Motorization question

Thank you so much guys for all these wonderful tips! @Duq I actually saw that gearing example on flickr by @Selander yesterday and planned on looking closer on it to see If I could use it. Will post updates when I have tested more. Your help is greatly appreciated!

    Motorization question

Thanks for all your input. I will go back to the drawing board and see what I manage to improve. zephyr1934: I need the offset to match the driving rods I bought from your Bricklink-store. Great parts btw :)

    Motorization question

Thanks for clarification and nice tips. I updated the model now: Skjermbilde 2018-04-01 kl. 06.46.15 by Henrik Lorentzen, on Flickr As seen in this image I plan on using another motor on the first driving wheels: Skjermbilde 2018-04-01 kl. 06.57.12 by Henrik Lorentzen, on Flickr

    Homemade Road Plates

These road-plates look great, and seems like a perfect way of building roads without purchasing those expensive lego baseplates. And this looks much better. I understand that you do not want to use the printer available at work to print and sell plates on demand, but if there would be any way of buying the designs from you and using a online print-on-demand service or something like that I think a lot of people would be really interested. Myself included. There has to be some kind of service out there that lets you as the creator upload designs and sell on demand. I am just thinking out loud, but that would be amazing!

    [MOC] Type 33.01 4-6-4 locomotive

This looks amazing! There is a lot to digest here, and I might have several questions later, but one pops up right away: How did you do those stickers? I meen the printing/cutting of them. Edit: Ah, I understand now... It's 3D!

    Henrik Lorentzen (Norway)

I see I haven't introduced myself yet, even though I've been here at Eurobricks a few years already. I live in south-east Norway, part of the norwegian LUG Brikkelauget. I've attended a few events in Norway, but so far no events outside Norway. Hopefully that will change soon! I mostly build mocs in the train and town-category. Sometimes I go a bit outside my comfort zone to try something else. Like Architecturel, or as I'm building now, a sailing ship. I have a Flickr-account where I post my Lego-pictures (in addition to posts/topics here on Eurobricks).
  9. Are there anyone who has created a TIE Fighter at about the same scale as the UCS Millennium Falcon? If my calculations are correct the UCS Millennium Falcon is about 1:40 scale, while the 75101 First Order TIE is 1:31,5. The UCS TIE (75095) is about 1:20. So the TIE Moc should then be about 15,75 cm long (back to front on wing) to be 1:40 in scale. I am asking because I am going to build a layout with TIE Fighters together with the UCS Millennium Falcon, and if anyone has done this before it would be great to get some inspiration before I start.
  10. I have tried this out a bit on mac now and really like the way to set up steps from an LXF-file. Brilliant. But is there a way to export high-res, transparent images of the steps themselves? I want to create the instructions using Adobe InDesign, and I can't find a way to export high-res pictures of the step.

    [MOC] BB-9E

It's been about two years since I made the BB-8 model (large and small version), now I've made a small version of BB-9, and then time will show if I make a large version of this as well. Here are some pictures: There are some more pictures on my Flickr-account (and better resolution). I hope you like it.

Thanks, I haven't fully decided on how yet, but I will make instructions for this. Probably more high quality than last time, and I am taking pre-orders on full kits (more info).
  13. This was not the case in the full box I bought. I opened them all up, and found no system in the way they was stored in the box.

    [MOC] Boba Fett buildable figure

Thanks to the both of you, and yes, I agree that the proportions are a bit off with the body and the head. Right now my mind need a bit of time away from the model, but I will look into this in the future and remember your ideas for improvement. Thanks!

[WIP] Bricklinking and Building Henrik's BB-8

I see this is an old thread, but I didn't see it before now. I hope you managed to build it now that you got all the parts. Would be great to see an update.
  17. In January 2013 the House of Literature opens in Fredrikstad (Norway) and Earthtree Media (where I work) will be moving in to new offices on the first floor. Griff Architecture, that we share offices with today (before we move in to these new offices), has drawn this house that lies at the river promenade in Fredrikstad. Here are some pictures of the house taken yesterday: I thought the architecture-style on this house was very nice and wanted to make my own model of the house, and here it is!

MOC: The House of Literature - Fredrikstad

A long time since my last update here, but I am finally done with the design of Storgata 13 and the park next to the House of Literature. Next up now is to gather parts to build it.

    New Bricklink Format

I've used Bricklink since 2008 and I have gotten used to the old way of doing things. As many others here I use the Wanted List option a lot, and after a few days with the new design/workflow I am 100% sure that the changes will make me spend less time ordering parts, and I will probably spend more money on Bricklink. The LDR-import and the auto-find parts from wanted lists in stores is going to save me a lot of time so I can have more time to actually build mocs. I think the update is great!

    [MOC] BB-8

It is so cool to see that you actually finished building the model. We talked a bit before Christmas. I think it is absolutely amazing you finished this. I hope you enjoyed building it. And good luck with the sale!

    WIP: Christian Radich

This summer the Tall Ships Races (races for sail training sailing ships) comes to my hometown Fredrikstad in Norway. One of the participating ships is Christian Radich, a norwegian ship with Oslo as it's homeport. I have used the winter to digitally build this ship in 1:60 scale, and I'm now in the final stages of completing it in real bricks. Hopefully I will be done before the ship arrives in Fredrikstad 12th of July. The model will then be displayed in one of the exhibition halls close to where Christian Radich is located during the event. Here is a photo of the real ship, and below it is pictures from the building progress. I will continue to update this topic as I'm building.

This happened to me to, when I tried to update my e-mail account. My Eurobricks account was set to "validation-mode" in the process and I couldn't do anything :p You can't contact members via PM when your account is in validation mode. I felt like Mark Watney in the Martian! Thanks to fellow LUG-members who got in touch with an Eurobricks admin via they're Eurobricks account. I think it was Rick who fixed it for me in the end. I even tried to create another Eurobricks account to get in touch with an Eurobricks admin, but this also went in to "validation-mode" as I didn't receive validation e-mail. I was using Gmail.

    [MOC] BB-8

Thanks for your nice comments! Not well at all. After the incident at the cinema, I made the structure stronger, but still, it is not close to being so stable that you can roll it around. The updated instructions on the model are here: http://www.henriklorentzen.no/lego/bb-8-fullsize.lxf I have also started work on improving my mid-size model. Here is a 3d-render. I will post updated instructions, part list and more images when I get all the parts I need to make this modification.
