What about using back to back 1x3 curved slopes, and fasten them to an interior structure using something like this. There is also use a pre-made 6x cylinder.

I don't know what you are doing to your set, but mine has been rock solid. It was one of first batch of sets I bought after getting back into Legos and I thought the handle was cool. I have shaken mine pretty hard by the handle to see how sturdy it was. Aside from Emperoro Pimpatine falling out its put together well. Personally I like it and it would be easy to mod into a longer and wider ship without the interior bits.

You can download instructions to a vast assortment of sets from brickset.com. Just looking those over will show you techniques and which bricks they used. If I were you I'd buy study which sets seem to have the coolest techniques and buy those. All of the modular buildings are a good start; so for currently available that's Green Grocer, Fire Brigade, and the new Emporium. Not all the Star Wars sets use amazing techniques, but a lot do. Just study what's out there. In my case I started making MOCs similar to what I found online and noticed which bricks I was mnissing/could use more of. Then I hit Bricklink. If there is a Lego store near you hitting the Pick A Brick wall is a good way to get a bunch of parts on the cheap. PS. Prepare to spend a bunch of money.

I don't know why the RGS gallery isn't public, but here are links to the new pics. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/gotoAndL...ip/img_0993.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/gotoAndL...ip/img_0994.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/gotoAndL...ip/img_0996.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/gotoAndL...ip/img_0991.jpg

I added some new photos to my Brickshelf gallery. I fixed the doors and some other details; not to mention took some liberties with others. :D I'm mostly finished except for the turrets.

I couldn't tell, but for super accuracy you should add some CCTV cameras. :D

Does Space Police III promote racism and xenophobia?
gotoAndLego replied to Sonic Screwdriver's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
That would be speciesism, not racism. -
I just snagged a damaged box GG from my Atlanta store for $110. Sawheet. They have several on the shelf.

That looks great. You should do the water with blue smooth tiles.

I just put in my first BL order. Up to this point my MOCs have been from bricks in sets I bought. After making one or two MOCs I noticed the types of bricks I don't have enough of and I ordered those.

Has anyone tried to get an approximate price, in USD, on Bricklink?

If you can fit a mini-fig inside its not midi-scale.

LDD and Rotating...
gotoAndLego replied to Follows Closely's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
The base is also used alone on the V19 Torrent's wings, and I'm sure there are other models. I guess its just a limitation in LDD and not something I overlooked. -
In honor of Valenties Day, it the classic Leia/Marion/Indy love triangle.

LDD and Rotating...
gotoAndLego replied to Follows Closely's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
This is a LDD question as well. How do you just use the turntable base without the studded part? Since they always come as separate parts in the kits, like the hinges do, shouldn't you be able to do this? -
Try bricklink.com. Its a marketplace for everything from sets to individual pieces.

I found the AT-ST and Tie Advanced recently from Amazon at an affordable price.

Just wanted to say, excellent idea for a MOC. Cheers

Do you guys like the turntable base behind the second cockpit?

MOC: Royal Netherlands Navy SH-14D Lynx

What is your approach to keeping bricks in stock. When you are finished with your model do you order the replacement bricks so you can keep building without depleting your stock? Great models BTW; do you have a Flickr or Brickshelf gallery(ies)? -
For curiosity sake, what did you use the make the gaps between the curved pieces? I think about it the endless grey curves get a bit monotonous. What about alternating or every two with the blue-grey or darker grey? Or make the balconies and grey details a different tone of grey. I wonder what it would look like with the brown tiles disappearing under the front steps. I really like the wings at the top of the curved section.

How so?

I can see using those for the wing turrets, but not for the other since I can't see how I'd attach the gun barrels. Next I'll prob try some snot doors as that seems the only way to get angled doors with cutouts.
