Now that's how you do a cool catalog.

I'm excited about the new AT-AT for two reasons. 1: My girl loves AT-ATs 2: We don't have any of the other AT-ATs. So suck on that. :D
-
I think you should get it. In a year or more, when you have the budget, you could get FB (which is the next modular to be discontinued) or GE (will be discontinued a year after FB) to go with it.
-
I can't, but maybe one of the mods can add "AT-TE" to the thread title.
-
I'm finishing up a LAAT/c to match my LAAT/i design and its going to be carrying an AT-TE. I've been trying to work out a leg system that will match the midi-scale size AND be able to carry a decent amount of weight, but the scale all seems off. Especially for the middle legs that angle outwards and have that hinged "ankle". I have one or two ideas but am open to suggestions. I'm trying to avoid shoring the belly up with trans-clear bricks to carry the weight.

You're going to need several tractors.

That's great. I overlooked the photo with the red saddle and was going to suggest one.

Quick update, I've built the center legs and it seams using the click ball-joints for the angles, hip joints, and regular notched brick hinges for the ankles seems to support the weight of the walker and dropship. I overestimated the number of click ball-joints I had so I can only use one per leg. Thanks for giving that thing six legs George. :D

You should call your store and ask.

A good old-fashioned blunderbuss with all the blasters... I dig it.

CITY: Extremely random photos from Lego City!

Pretty funny having the racers next to the hospital. You should have two meds carrying a racer on a stretcher between the two buildings. -
I'm going to experiment using those click ball joints for the center leg. I just have to figure out how to reinforce and style them properly. Still don't know what I'll do for the outside legs.
-
I've seen that one before. I like it but mine is shorter and smaller so those sockets would be too large.
-
I don't have any as I'm still working on it. I'm asking suggestions or links to models people have saved that they liked. I have one version done, but the front is supported by trans bricks and the center legs are straight up and down. They don't need to fold up, they can be sturdy in their final shape. They don't have to move. I'm thinking half or one third the size of 7675.

Gallardo Instructions
gotoAndLego replied to Blakbird's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
On a side note, what are you guys using to make the instructions? -
I would love to see a series of small SW ships using this Tie's styling.

Greebles are all the little fiddly elements people put on to add details. And example would be the flat sides of 10030 or the Midi Falcon. On your model, the small elements you used in place of the wing ball guns would be greebles.

Has LEGO Castle Become Cliche'?
gotoAndLego replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Although I haven't had a Castle set since the yellow days with their brick-built horses I do feel it needs a AFOL level set. Medeival Market is a step in the right direction. A Cafe Corner, Imperial Flagship, or Emerald Night to their respective themes. Something that is really brick heavy with an emphasis on details and techniques over playability. Not necessarily something along the lines of the Star Wars UCS models as those have no real playability. I think something like that would be very inspirational; in my case, I had lost interest in City sets until the Modular buildings and Creator houses came out. Heck, a cathedral would be super cool. -
The obvious solution is to go faster. :D

In regards to: I would like to see the m\large color areas made from bricks with the typography as stickers. For example, you could do the left curved corner from red and the tiles and right corner from yellow. While it would look less realistic, it would look more like a Lego MOC. Its your call but regardless, it looks great.

In English they are known as Windsocks, the name translates pretty literally. I like this plane, not only does it look good but its made from actual bricks as opposed to those big single Duplo-looking pieces Lego have been using as of late.
-
You could make the windshield with 1x1 trans-black slopes.
-
I really dislike the helicopter. The reason I stopped buying Legos was all these massive single pieces, like the front of the cockpit, taking the place of actual bricks. In my case I saw it with the grey castle walls compared to the yellow castle walls. Not only do they make these fell less like Lego sets but they limit the alternative models you can make from all the bricks you get.

Is it just the neck that's drooping or is the weight causing the torso to angle downwards? Try running technic beams through the neck. Attach them with several pins inside the head and body. Look at the Republic Dropship/AT-OT for bracing ideas. If you add depth to the top of the neck it can rest on the technic beams as well.

It looks great, but I have a couple of suggestions. I really like the hidden hinges. Make the wet bar longer and eliminate the street-side doors. Maybe make the curb side doors into suicide doors, so the handles are both in the center and the doors open opposite directions. Maybe make this one of those outragous limos with an outside pool in the back where the trunk would be. PS> I really like your roadster for two.
