  1. Hogwarts castle Not a very original subject to built, but I wanted to make my own Hogwarts castle for a long time. I switched a couple of times between different scales, and ended up with a microscale version because this allowed me to cover the whole castle and a larger part of the grounds. I tried to include as many details/ scenes from the books/ movies, like the boathouse, greenhouses, Hagrids House with Buckbeak, Quidditch Pitch, Forbidden Forest, Whomping Willow with Arthurs Ford Anglia, Beauxbatons' carriage, Durmstrangs Boat and the Chamber of Secrets. The challenge for me was to keep true to the Hogwarts of the movies, in looks, scale and position of the buildings. As the the castle is different in each movie, I had choose which one to recreate. My moc is based on the last movies. Hogwarts microscale by Rick, on Flickr This MOC is actually an old one.. I finished it somewhere at the start of 2021 and took pictures later that year. Never found (took) time to upload them. But with the release of Hogwarts 76419 in September I'm a bit dissappointed that I didn't uploaded it earlier. That new set is actually the same scale as my MOC and uses similair techniques, only mine shows the whole castle and more of the grounds. It might inspire some of you for expanding the set. [MOC] Hogwarts microscale

Thanks Feuer Zug and Oky! I started this built without the angled placement of the castle, but it didn’t look good, even a bit dull. The angle makes the scene much more interesting.
  3. When I saw the announcement of this competition I immediately knew what to build: The Burrow. This is the place where Harry felt at home for the second time in his live (next to Hogwarts). Besides the Burrow I wanted to add some more of his favourites to this vignette: Ginny and quidditch. All three build in a different scale. I really wanted to add a base so I scaled it down to 11x11 with a 12x12 base. This also allowed me to have some bits sticking out (which I felt emphasised the wonkyness of the Burrow). Harrys broom is slightly larger than 12 studs, but by placing it diagonally it fits easily.

[MOC] The Return of The X-Wing

At the end of 2021 I was about to dive into the moc experience called X-wing. I spent days browsing Flickr and other sites finding ideas and references. It was around that time that I saw an updated version of your X-wing v1 on BrickVault. I immediately bit the bullet and bought the instructions as this looked as a perfect Lego-fication of the real model. It was the first time I bought fan-made instructions, but it was a blast. From the quality of the intructions to the brick collecting and finally building the spaceship. I finished my (your) white X-wing v2 some weeks ago. I learned a lot Lego connections that I didn’t know where possible and some parts clicked together so perfectly I was astounded. Like the folding system, the motors and the angles on the fuselage. I have to admit that I would not be able to create this piece myself. (It’s only now that I see the gears on the end of the wings are missing. I think my son took these to built his lawnmower...) I also have to share that I disliked some parts as they put a lot of stress on the Lego bricks, like the long plates (that end with the mixel plates) in the fuselage that are bent and not kept straight. But the most issues I had with connecting the brackets back-to-back. This is the best I could archief on the back. On the inner part I chose to leave out some bricks. Have other builders experienced this same issue? Jerac, thanks for this building experience! The end result is so amazing!

    Harry Potter 2020 - Rumors & Discussion

I was just thinking that DA will be an adult targeted set, because of the price/ brickcount. Since the ‘release’ of the that line they have a press release halfway each month for a new adult set which releases the first of the next month. Like the recent NES press release, but same goes for the Crocodile train, Mickey & Minnie and Haunted House. So it’s quite likely we’ll see a press release of the DA in four weeks, with pictures of the set leaking a week or two in advance..

    [MOC] De-Marco's Vehicles

Your cars are looking really good, all of them. I envy the speed at which you build and post the new designs, including the intstructions and inventory. Keep up the good work!

Modular with the best interior detail?

I would recommend the Parisian Restaurant also. A great set and in my humble opinion the greatest modular. But if price is not an issue, you can also consider the new Ninjago city, although it's not really a modular building from the Creator line. It has lots of details, small shops and lots of interior and playability. The Old Fishing store as mentioned above is also great if you just want one set with a lot of details.

    MOC City of Copenhagen

Wow, Copenhagen looks truly amazing in white. You succeded in developing it even further. Congrats on being inveted to display your work in the Lego House. I totally support this, because your colored version is one of my favorite Lego moc's of all time (I am honest about this). So many details and building techniques. Really inspiring!

21309 NASA Apollo Saturn V (LEGO Ideas)

I never thought I would buy this big, white rocket. As I'm not really into this kind of space models. But the many positive reviews showed me wrong. The build seems to be excellent, and that's what this hobby is about (for me). I started my build yesterday, I've only finished bag 1-3 and it's already big. The snotted build is very clever. And only printed parts! It's only with luck that I could buy my Saturn V yesterday. I found a seller on a Dutch version of Ebay who sells for retail price. I had it ordered through lego.com, on June 2nd, but I would only receive it somewhere later this month. But I couldn't wait.

    Mini Modulars wave 2

I'm also eager for this set! Have searched trough the internet, but didn't find any rumours about it.. 10230 Mini modulars was released in 2012. So if they continue along this line this set will be released in two years.. I really hope they will make this set and release it asap, as I like this scale a lot.
  12. Here's my entry for the competition and also my dream home. It's located in the old city centre of the fourth biggest city in The Netherlands: Utrecht. The city where I currently live. The building stansd along one of the canals in the city (Oudegracht). You can see a reference picture by clicking here. I think it's obvious which building I build. You can download the .lxf file here

    Avalonia City 2014

I really like your bank, post office and hardware store. Love the red/ d. blue/ green signing.
  14. Looks really good. Especially the really smooth hull and the details on wheelhouse. My father had a scale model of this ship, which was 60 cm or something like that. So I recognized this ship immediately. Great to see it in bricks now!

    MOC: IHC Merwede dredger

I saw your MOCs today at Legoworld, I was blown away by the models although I had seen them all before on the pics you posted here. The size and amount of details are really impressive. Keep up the good work!
  20. I'll have to work on friday, saturday and sunday in the restaurant of the Jaarbeurs. But I got some spare hours to walk around. I'm really looking forward to see a lot of your MOC's

    daystar's mini modular MOCs

Wow, you're seriously really good in this scale. And a machine also, by producing one MOC a day! Keep up the good work, I'd love to see it

    10243 Parisian Restaurant

Wow, what a lovely set. I have to get it. I really love the overall shape of the building, although it might be a bit low. (As I compare it in GRogall's signature) The fact that they used the bricks they've saved, by making the building smaller, on detailling and interior is awesome. As many of you already mentioned, it's among the best modulars ever created. Over 3 pages of comments I haven't seen a single bad comment! This on really raises the bar for future sets!

    The LEGO House design revealed!

Wow, nice project! I really like the style of the presentation, especially the first part. Map -> a Lego baseplate -> placing all the spaces on the baseplate -> the building. It's also a typical BIG building, a recognized it from the picture on the frontpage. Nice that they intergrated their other Lego project as a sunterrace in this design. I also really like (in what I thinks is) the basement, with the display of (all?) Lego products that are released in the past.

LEGO Star Wars 10236 Ewok Village

Wow, this set is awesome! I'm not that much of a Star Wars fan, but this set cotains so many lovely details. Especially the trees with hidden functions inside (closet for lightsabers, slide, hiding place etc), the bridge and the platform. It can also be extended easily with other sets in the Lego SW line! €250 is al lot of money though, even for a nice set like this..
