Experiment: Using Raspberry PI and SBricks for automatic train control
Asper replied to Asper's topic in LEGO Train Tech
thank you! Currently this is just a set of python scripts running on the raspberry pi, so you need something like ssh to connect and start this - I don't think this is what you are thinking of... But I'm planning to have a web server on the pi, so any device can connect and control the SBricks - without installing custom apps. -
Wonderful train! I like the colors very much.

I have built a monorail after Masao Hidakas videos. It was shown at "Bricking Bavaria 2014". There is a video and a flickr album with some more prictures (not all about the monorail). I designed and built a switch for this but do not have videos or detailed pictures. Building this was fun and I plan to do this again - extended to a two track layout. In the German forum 1000Steine you can find the "SOLORAIL". (Text is all in German, but the pictures and video should give a good impression). I have never seen it in real life, but the video is impressive. And there is üfchen... With his brilliant ideas, here some of the monorail videos: , , , ...

Hello, One of the first things I built as an AFOL was a bridge made of blue old LEGO track. I know that the idea to use the blue LEGO track is not new - I think I have seen this in some of the old LEGO idea books. Now it took some years to "finish" it and make this small diorama to present the bridge. At the end of the 19th centuries they built these beautiful portals for train bridges - I like them very much - so I wanted them on my bridge, too. (larger images can be found in the flickr album) Hope you like it, Steffen

Thank you all for your kind feedback!

Thank you. The train is an old MOC from 2010. You can find more on flickr or on brickshelf (on brickshelf there is even kind of an instruction)

The Beauty and the Beast: FRECCIAROSSA 7 studs vs/ 4 studs...

Wow, what a beautiful train! I also like the monorail version. -
Some weeks ago there was a discussion on 1000Steine.de how to dump LEGO train cars. One of the posts had a link to a private site showing a solution for H0 trains. Now I built this in LEGO with focus on simplicity so my kids can handle this on their own: The stop at te end is strong enough to stop the train if it's not too fast. More pictures on brickshelf - once it's moderated. This is not yet finished: It needs some modifications to look more like a real train facility and it's rather annoying to get the technic-pins back into the cars manually. But I did not think about this much and I'm open to suggestions (conveyor, excavator, ...) Steffen
