I've been working on the new map. It essentially follows Delta 38's island idea. It was meant to be smaller than the current map, but, well, that kind of didn't happen. The mainland will be the location of the spawn and the main city. It is mostly flat land with the occasional body of water. It will be seperated into lots for players to build architecture. It does however have some beaches with varied terrain. To the north there is some mountains for a different feel. The flatlands is for artworks and other miscellaneous creations. Its really flat and boring. There is a desert island with a small island of trees in the middle as a kind of oasis. The Medieval islands are varied in terrain, with both steep mountains and rolling hills, all with waterfront views. The tropical atoll is the home of the pirates, with small chunks of land sticking out of the seas. There is the snow capped lands to the East. The badlands to the North-West. And an island to the South-West with steep cliff and rugged coastline. The majority of these lands will be linked with roads just like before. There is a vast amound of space between these areas: the biomes are a lot bigger than before. Therefore there is still heaps (*HEAPS*) of water, so there will be lots of little islands for players to make a fort or house on. Any comments? Anything you'd like to see added?

I'm sorry... I had to laugh. Put your tongue on one of these (with an ambulence waiting of course ). I had a bit of a HO layout going when I was young, but that really doesn't compare to what I can do now with Lego. Seeing you're looking to play with it, Lego is a no-brainer: it's fun for your children to play with, and they can't really break anything like a model train set. And as an adult, you can build more detailed creations to your heart's content. Just browse this forum for inspiration. Cost wise, I'd say they're fairly similar: Some parts are dirt cheap (bricks) and others can be expensive (track). But seeing a HO scale tree (just one) for sale at retailer near me for $30 USD made my jaw drop. As for your other concern, the current Power Functions (PF) system is battery operated, but it has been done that way to be consistent with the entire Lego catalogue. Everything that has motors or other electrical functions now use this system, so expect it to be around for a (long) while. And again, the gauge of track has not changed since it's inception.

Currently setting up the server with a new permissions system. Not going so well at the moment unfortuantely, but the server is now off the whitelist. Users not registered are unable to build (yay it works!).

Greeny is banned for griefing the server. Movecraft looks fun, but it's a real memory hog with all that moving blocks and whatnot, I don't think the server could take it.

The information you seek hides in the Article, Topic, and MOC Index, under "Links and resources":

Here is a map of the current server.

For a model like that, an 'M' motor would probably be more appropriate. The standalone PF motors rotate much slower, but have more torque so won't slow down so much when a heavy load is applied. They are awkward shapes though, so that is a point of contention. In this model, the other problems are fitting the other equipment (and the massive cables) in. The PF train motor can take the Large drivers, however the gearing of the motor is internal and unchangeable. This makes it move way too fast. For reference, Carl's model is using Medium BBB (Big Ben Bricks) wheels, which are in between the regular train wheel and the driver in size.

What a fantastic creation! It perfectly goes with all that the redux competition is about, its simple, and fits with both the classic style of the 12v series all the way up to the current stuff (with a bit more tiling). The play features really make it pop. If this was a set, I'd be in line to buy more than just one. Great stuff.

Wow, your town must be particularly violent, to need that kind of ordnance. Nice builds.

Absolutely love this, PolishGuy! Unmistakable as a Sprinter Trueno, my only complaint is is the horrible trans-light blue windscreen (my pet peeve). Trans-black would probably look more fitting, and let you standardise the colour across the whole car.

Okay, the server is back online.
-
TNT party has already started. Might reload the map to start again. @Masked Builder: There is still a whitelist in place. PM me with your Minecraft name and I'll add you.

Relax fellas. Until the Bukkit server software is updated, there's not much going on on the server. I do have a backup of the map though, so don't worry about your lost creations.
-
I just think its a lost opportunity not to put a different pattern on the opposite side, just like the grille bricks. Two for the price of one, what's not to love?
-
The server is waiting to be updated to 1.8... as soon as the server software (craftbukkit) is itself updated. Nothing I can do till then, sorry.
-
Then you need to be careful who has access to your computer or account.

All damage from the greifer has been rolled back, no worries. Greifer DobbyClone has been banned.
-
That would be the E Motor. A smaller motor would be well received, as having some wiring underneath the layout wouldn't be a problem. Having gearing under the layout to hide a huge motor would be a hassle.
-
It is on a whitelist. However those added before are allowed. The user who placed said signs was PieGuy78, and if he does grief the server, he will find himself kicked off.
-
etc... You are banned for greifing the server.

The server is back to a whitelist. I'd prefer bedrock to be a useable material, as the roads are made of bedrock and it's nice to be able to extend it. I'd like to think I can trust the users on this server. If I can't, I'll correct the userlist until I can.
-
I'm only going to say this once: Do not grief the server or you will find yourself named and shamed, and banned. Consider yourself warned. I've tidied up the damage I could find. Contact me if there's still remains.

Change of rules. I would like a PM from users to be registered with the server. While I appreciate your enthusiasm bunny6568, it is your first and only post here so I can't be assured of your intentions. You need 10 posts on Eurobricks to gain access to the Private Message service. If you'd like to add a friend of yours, please PM me with their name. But their behaviour will be your responsibility.

Okay, the server is ready. Item spawning is enabled, build to your hearts content! Again, the map of the place: MAP. Some commands are installed on the server: /god - invincibility. Don't worry about fire, lava pits or long falls. /give <item ID> [quantity] - Give yourself an item. Install "Too many items" for easy use of this command. /sethome - sets your home location. /home - teleports you to your home location. /tpa <playername> - Request to teleport to a player. /tpahere <playername> - Request the teleportion of a player to your location. /tpaccept, /tpyes - Accept the request of a player wishing to teleport to you / you to them. /tpdeny, /tpno - Deny a teleport request. /clearinventory, /ci - clear your inventory. Ditch all that worthless crap you spawned earlier. /tell, /t, /m <playername> [message] - Send a private message to a player. /warp <warpname> - Teleport to a predetermined location. Not listing a warp will list the available warps. /time <day|night> - set time. Hope to see you on!

Permissions aren't working yet, sorry. Will get it going tomorrow. But the new map is up for viewing. Overview of the map is Here.
