    Micro Death star

Now that's really clever. And if it were all black, it would make an excellent underwater mine as well... Nice work

    Review: 8129 AT-AT

Very nice and detailed review, thanks a lot. In the end, the only thing I find improved in this set is the neck. the round plates giv it a better look than what they did on 4483. But apart from that, I really think it's a step down from the original (but still 4 or 5 steps up from the motorised version ). As for the figs, while I don't quite like Luke's new head (it gives him a rather moody and grim expression), I do like Han's. But in the end, I'll definitely pass on that one. My old one is perfectly safe on the top of my best-SW-set-ever list. I might just mod it's neck with the new one. Although I don't think those plates come in old gray

LEGO Star Wars 2010 Pictures and Rumors

Some hi res indeed. Thanks Somehow, my eyes could only focus on two things : the big "Limited Edition" tag (I must have missed that intel earlier... Anyone knows what it means?) and those really BLUE technic pins in the legs... Man thoses are really NOT subtle... But apart from that, it looks sort of ok (if one doesn't have 4483, that is). I certainly won't get it, though... I'm perfectly happy with my old one.

LEGO Star Wars 2010 Pictures and Rumors

From what I can see from Brickset, it seems like this platform slides in there to store the troops. But it does look much shorter than the first version, where there was enough space to seat 2 minifigs beside each other on both side of the model and still had room for their blasters...

Thanks for the pics, Grogall. That ISD looks much better than what I made of the earlier pic, but I'm still not sure I'm sold. I'll have to wait for a review before making up my mind, I think. Looks like it'll be about 30 studs long. Around the length of the midi MF, then...

    mini set database

I think you mean the mini's created by Legostein. He regularly posts his new creations in the forum. There's a section specially dedicated to him in the SW MOCs index here or you can find them on his own website, with instructions and more : http://www.deckdesigns.de/

LEGO Star Wars 2010 Pictures and Rumors

Thanks. After seeing that, there are two things that quite bother me, in fact. The angle of the wings is too flat compared to what it should be. Maybe it's because they haven't fully unfolded them, but since I haven't seen any other picture where the wings are even lower, I have my doubts... And while the details of the rear and the engines at the back look fantastic, those two "knobs" are awfully big. they're more like gigantic cranks than knobs and lack any sort of subtlety. They should have found a way to discreetly design them somwhere so that they can't be seen for what they are. Here they're just screaming "play feature" (even if it isn't really what they are) and kind of kill the general design and purpose of the set...
  9. Very Awesome in depth review, ZO6. This by far my very most favouritest LEGO set ever. I think it's the one that really got me fully back into LEGO. I loved it the first time I laid my eyes on a picture of it in a Star Wars magazine and when I learnt what the price was, I just saved for four years just to be able to afford it. And man, what a treat. The model still looks fantastic. My only minor complaint I have for it, as you mentionned in your review, is the bad surprise in the instructions when you have painstakingly finished one frame to discover that you have to do it aaaaall over again a second time... But then, I have noticed that TLC learns a lot from its past mistakes, as instructions in later sets now have the X2 note at the beginning of said duplicate part of the build.

    Major board upgrade

Nice work. some things will probably need some getting used to but so far it looks good. It's probably too late but it might be a good opportunity to enlarge those "go to first unread post" buttons. I always found them way too small to easily click on them. (The first time I found them was even completely by chance because it took some time to load the page and the link stayed in text mode for a while before being changed to that tiny little arrow... Other than that, it's great

LEGO Star Wars 2010 Pictures and Rumors

Seems white to me. Beside, whether it be in comics or videogames, it's always been represented in white. I can understand you wondering why the blue in the various ties or the white in the last versions of the X-wing but in this case, I'd say it's pretty spot on

LEGO Star Wars 2010 Pictures and Rumors

Yay! Picture time!! Thanks a lot, Whung. I was really excited by the prospect of a midi ISD, but this is kind of a cold shower, for me... I'll wait to see more details but right now, it's not looking good. And that flattened roswell alien head that passes for the bridge tower looks really wierd... The shuttle on the other hand looks quite fantastic. Although the size of it makes me wonder about its sturdiness. Especialy its top fin...but it seems to include both a stand for a flight mode display AND a working landing gear

    Review: 7947 Prison Tower Rescue

I really like the shape and design of that building. Especially the many stairs and ladder that lead almost on every floor of the tower. The one thing that bugs me a little though is that for a prison tower, it seems to be missing an actual cell or something of the kind. unless there's a hidden door I didn't see... but this line does give me a feel of a modernised classic castle that reeks nostalgia while giving it a modern edge. kinda like those new old cars (new beetle, new mini, new fiat 500 )

Actually, I noticed that using firebug (free plugin for webdeveloper on firefox) you can find the source code of the hi res image and just save it. The image is still divided in different pieaces of 400x400 so some stitching is still required, but at least now everything snaps in place quickly. No more hassle to fit every screenshots together and realise you missed a little square :p Took me 5 min to do this one. I was about to proudly post it when I found out it'd already been done... At least I can still give my discovery to make things easier in the future...

Which Jedi, Sith or other do you want the most?

I'd love to see any Yuuhzan Vong but due to their rather sado-masochistic nature, I doubt TLC would ever go that way... And the rest of the Solo family from the NJO would be great, too... Then of course, there's Grand Admiral Thrawn and Mara Jade. as for an alien jedi, my favourite ever is Vergere. Now that one, I'd pay anything to get her in minifig version...

Congrats, Oky Wan Kenobi! It's rightly deserved. All the entries were great but yours had that extra touch that really made me laugh.

    UCS Scale TIE Shuttle

yet another really great work... I would have just one (minor) complain, though : there doesn't seem to be any access hatch or anything... how do the passengers get in? And since you're taking order , how about a Chiss Clawcraft? although I'm not sure if it can be considered as an alternate TIE...

The Hobbit and planned sequel Discussion

Well, I wouldn't be so sure about that : from what I've read, the first of the two films will be the adaptation of The Hobbit, while the second one will be something to them to the LotR trilogy. So now, most people are wondering what will actually be in that second film. And that's where the screw-everything-up-like-GL-did might come in (although Tolkien did write quite an extensive history of his Middle-Earth, so they still have lots of guidelines to follow)... Now there're even rumors about it being in 3D. At least if they know it now, they can film it correctly from the start and not do a crappy last minute conversion like they seem to be doing with everything that's come out since Avatar...

    Where's that $%^& piece?

That happens to me every time too. But I've noticed that when I'm looking for a piece, while I never found that one, I always find those I'm not necessarily looking for and, more importantly, those I was looking for before but gave up trying to find. Now I have the ultimate solution : I'm always looking one piece ahead of the one I need And tadaa, I find the one I needed (yeah, talk about twisted, but hey, Terminator fan, here ...)

    Review: 7124 Flash Speeder

It is indeed a nice little set. And though it's definitely not quite the shape of the original model, I like the way it looks more like somthing that could have come from the OT instead of the PT :p Oh and the console slope piece is quite old, actually. I got one in th helicopter of my second police station (6398 I think...)

LEGO Star Wars 2010 Pictures and Rumors

Meh... Well, at least it's a little improvement from the PF one, since they went back a little to the original design... But it's still far from the greatness of 4483. Boy am I glad I jumped on that one when it came out. It's still on the very top of my favourite-regular-sets-ever list... And considering what's coming, it's likely to stay there. As for an interior because of the hinges, I wouldn't get my hopes to high. 4483 had those as well but it didn't have much inside. Just two removable sets of seats for the troopers. And this one has a lesser piece count and more thingies on the side... I'm not sure I like the direction TLC is going, lately. The first wave or remakes did a fantastic job of improving the models (X-Wing, Y-Wing, Slave 1, MTT and so on) and then they've become sort of lazy, doing very little change and reselling the same things over and over again (Snowspeeder?) for a constantly inncreasing price... Hopefully, there are exceptions like the AT ST from the endore set (the AT RT from the CTT seems good, too) but they're becoming rather sparse

LEGO Star Wars 2010 Pictures and Rumors

I'm having the exact same dilemma, too... Though I found a sort of solution : I'll get rid of jango's Slave one which was pretty ugly anyway and with the pieces, I'll modify the previous Boba's to make it back into Jango's but with a far better look and shape. But it still does depend on the final price...

    Lost: Season 6 WARNING SPOILERS!

Actually, I think it's the kind of show that keeps a lot of interest on second and even third watching, because they keep putting little clues all over the place that we don't notice at first and then take a whole new meaning after knowing the events that come next. Kind of like the Harry Potter books and such... Unfortunately, as you say, time is a rather big problem lately... I love the way they manage to give us answers while still keeping a level of mystery. Like the numbers : we finally learnt their meaning, but now we need to know the meaning of that meaning. It's like some matroesjka. It never ends and yet it still feels like we're going forward...

LEGO Star Wars 2010 Pictures and Rumors

After seeing those pics, I'm starting to get sold by Grievous Starfighter. It's definitely growing on me... I kinda like those hidden missiles. And the back fin seems to move the right way On the other hand, I really hope the canopy will be printed, because if it's a sticker, I predict one hell of time to apply it... Damn, I thought I was gonna save some money, this year...

    Favourite UCS Set

I seem to have the same idea of what an UCS set is as Aeroeza. So for the sets that enter in that category, I think they're all fantastic looking. But my very all time favourite shall allways be the Star Destroyer. After all, it's THE most iconic ship in the SW Universe and it's the first set that brought us a whole new scale and level of detail from TLC. When I first laid my eyes on it in the SW Magazine a few months before it was released, I was just blown away and I knew I had to have it... (took me then 3 more years to save enough for it...) And even now, I'm still in awe whenever I look at it.
