    LEGO Marvel or DC

I am in 100% agreement with you. The Fortress of Solitude would be excellent, but there is one thing that would top it: The JLA Watchtower. Throw in the HQ of the Secret Society and a Javelin ship, and you have the potential for one nice run. There's also the Green Lantern Corps (trans-green ship, anyone!?). We could also get the ship that Supergirl came in, complete with (trans?)green Aquazone crystals to serve as Kryptonite. The lair of Darkseid. Marvel has no shortage of ideas, either. The X-Mansion, the Avengers Mansion, Galactus (complete with a Silver Surfer minifig), X-Jet, The Baxter Building, a SHIELD helicarrier... I can go on.

    Pirates or Imperials

I prefer Pirates, myself. I feel that there are more stories to create among Pirate crews than Imperials, but I think that's due to the multitude of pirate media out there. Pirates are greatly romanticized, and I think that's part of their charm. That's not to say Imperials are without their own charm, because they certainly have something about them that just screams "awesome."

A Challenge to you Brick Flickers

I'd do it myself but for three things: 1.) I only have one Batman Lego set, and that's the one with the dragster, 2.) I have no video camera, and 3.) I don't have the movie-making skill to pull it off. Hopefully, a few people will pick it up!
  4. I've been browsing this section of the forum, and am extremely impressed by all of your creations. Top notch, guys. So I felt like coming up with a challenge for any and all of you to accept, should you want to spend the time and effort doing so. Back in 2003, a fanfilm trailer by John Fiorella was released. It was always intended to be a trailer and nothing more, but it was and is absolutely brilliant. The film is called "Grayson", and if you're a Batfan, you recognize the name. The trailer can be seen .What does this have to do with Brick Flicks? Simple. I propose a challenge to this community: using the very same audio in Fiorella's trailer, can you make "Grayson" out of Lego, scene for scene? There won't be any actual prizes for this, or even a "winner." It's just an exercise in fun. Good luck everyone, and I look forward to the results!

    What did you buy today?

Just picked up an old Blacktron Super Nova II off of ebay (I'm missing quite a few pieces from my original set).

    Space Bar

That is absolutely awesome! I love the asteroid base, and that space-bike is wonderful! Good job!

    What's in a name ???

Hovertron was the first Exploriens set I picked up, and I loved it. Holograms, cool helmets, laser guns that actually looked like laser guns... I picked up Hovertrons for my two best buds, and we all had a blast with them. Good times, good memories. So I figured I'd use it as an SN, in hopes of more good memories.

    Hello there

Thanks! I've got a lot of '90s stuff, mostly disassembled... but I'll be rebuilding the Aerial Intruder soon!
  10. We've all done it. We build our own sets, create heroes and villains, and add a plot to go with it. In this thread, we can discuss the details of. I'll go first. The hero of my usual story was the Man in Black, not to be confused with the alien-policing MiB. He was kind of a cross between Batman and Iron Man; he wore a set of Aquashark armor with a black visor, and used a lightsaber created out of a one of those hinges with the pegs on the tip and a trans. red bar (this was before Star Wars Lego was even a concept). He usually had a secret base that was attacked or breached by the Man in White, a villain who wore Aquanaut armor with a visor covered in white-out. The Man in White didn't use a lightsaber, but a solid-fame sword... which was basically the same fire that came with the dragon out of Dark Dragon's Den. After he defeated the Man in White for the final time, he built a cantina with a secret door that led to his base. He would go undercover in the cantina to discover information about criminal events, then go into the back and take off in his ship. The cantina and base were destroyed eventually by the Recon Robot, under the control of a new villain called The Master. He had a skeleton face, and used a skeleton staff, created with the arms and legs of the skeleton minifig, with a skull on top. This guy combined magic and technology, bringing a relative of the Man in Black from the future, called The Ancestor. This guy used the Aquashark armor, but an Ice Planet visor, which he could shoot lasers from. With his base destroyed, the Man in Black operated out of his ship, and was lured into a trap at The Master's base. Before going, the Man in Black recruited all of his allies. They engaged in an all-out assault, and it was a massive battle. At the end, most of everyone was dead... including The Ancestor. He went in to face The Master, and was defeated. As The Master stood triumphant, the Man in Black signaled his ship, which was outside, to fire all weapons at his coordinates. The resulting explosion destroyed his fabled armor, as well as the outer shell of The Master, but both survived. The Master, now reduced to nothing but bones, was infuriated. The ensuing fight was short, with the Man in Black harpooning the Master to the wall. He then took the skeleton staff and, since The Master couldn't be killed, transported five pieces of him throughout time, so he could never re-assemble. And all this was done before I got into high school

Why do Star Wars fans hate Star Trek so much?

I think the debate originated simply due to the similar names: STAR Trek, STAR Wars. It's fanboy nature to compare something so similar. Another factor would be the contrasting views the two fandoms show in regard to space. In the 60s, the future in space was viewed as clean and sterile, as portrayed in Star Trek. Star Wars came along and changed that with its grungy ships and all-around dirty atmosphere. It changed the view of the future, as shown by many films that followed. The rivalry built upon itself, eventually becoming what it is today. Personally, I love both. I was raised on The Next Generation, and I loved Star Wars as a kid. Liking one doesn't mean you have to dislike the other, despite stereotypes.

    Hello there

Hey guys, I just signed up. My favorite theme is Space, as I've always been something of a sci fi geek. My first set was the Super Nova II of the Blacktron II series, and I absolutely loved it. Over the years, I collected more and more; Space, Western, Aqua, Knights, etc. I've loved Lego ever since I can remember.
