Yeah, fire is my biggest fear too! I've been considering insurance for a while, I hope to get around to it this year. Although we just had our basement water-sealed, I still find comfort with the ziploc bags. They should keep mice and dust out too.

Going About A Tommy Vercetti Minifigure
tman684 replied to CrazyDalton777's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Oh boy, you had me at Tommy Vercetti! I want to see your final fig, Vice City's the best! -
The binders sound like an ideal way to sort them, but that would be a very expensive method for me. I tried the gallon bags, but I noticed I have a bunch that don't fit entirely in the bags. I think I may continue with them anyways, becuase the sealed bags protect them from water damage, which is always a potential threat.

Anyone getting lots of Lego Ideas followers lately?
tman684 replied to Zerobricks's topic in Community
Yes, I've gotten a lot of followers too. Weird. What benefit do they get for following me? I don't post any creations or anything -

How to convert a yellow lego head to a flesh lego head ?
tman684 replied to Gregory-Mouchague's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
How can you do flesh to yellow? -
I also like the middle eastern style, mixed with a dark, wood-sy feel! Great job!

Wow! This is an amazing build! I think you just inspired me to fix up my haunted house! I love your attention to detail; little things like the molding and the stair railings are great! I can't wait to see if you do anything with the second floor!

The Death Star (Look at the size of that thing!)
tman684 replied to Gotta love the plastic's topic in LEGO Star Wars
When I got my Death Star when it first came out, it did not have numbered boxes or numbered bags, and I had to dump out all the pieces in the living room, took me hours to find some pieces!!! Anyone whose Death Star came with numbered bags is lucky!!!! -
Flower Quiz....spin-off from Serious questions about....
tman684 replied to Superkalle's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Wow, I have no idea where to begin. I'd be impressed with anybody who can answer all of these! Interested to find out the answers! -
Wow! That's great! The WTC is one of my favorite too, and I've always wanted to build one for my city, but it'd be too big and costly to do so.

How can I clean my dust covered 10179?
tman684 replied to Adamskii's topic in General LEGO Discussion
My lego city is covered in dust, I used compressed air cans, but they certainly don't get it all. But they're good for removing thick layers of dust. I really should've gotten that Falcon when I had the chance, consider yourself lucky you have such a great set! -

[WIP] Movie accurate cantina at full minifigure scale
tman684 replied to TheBear's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Wow! Great concept! I am very disappointed with the cantina they are releasing this year. I've waited so long, and the set looks terrible. You're layout is great! I love the crowd in the cantina, it is my favorite part of Star Wars. I can't wait to see if you continue this project. The thought just hit me, I have a bunch of tan pieces set aside for a mansion I was constructing. As much as I love my project, I may scrap it and make a Cantina instead! Thanks for the inspiration! -
Jeez, they sure have been making a lot of train sets. I'm getting old! Seems like just last year I got the red passenger train and the yellow cargo train, but I can't even check what year those were because Brickset is down right now. I really wish I had more room for a train set up, I have a whole box of tracks. I'd love to get more trains

Definitely the 2008 Death Star (am I right on the year?). It took me an entire week to build (especially since that was before I began sorting pieces, I remember it took me like two days just to find one piece). I had all the pieces dumped out on the floor all around me.

Hey, I've seen the red Darth Vader helmet on bricklink, but I've never seen the shirt too. Was it ever officially released? How did you get one? Whoops, nevermind. Didn't see this was brought up already. Good luck friend!
