    USS Enterprise NCC-1701-A

Super great work getting this built up to this size and capturing the actual ship look and feel! Any idea how heavy it is?

  5. Hello all, i managed to get my hands on a 7470 Space Shuttle Discovery-STS-31 and decided to share some pictures on this set as well as some comparison shots of the 10213 space shuttle set. Sorry if my photos are amateurish. Should you require reference or the review on 10213, please check out dr_spock's review. Enjoy! This is the front of the 7470 space shuttle. It has a more blocky but has a more solid look. Side view of the 7470 space shuttle. Not so spectacular due to the holes... Back view of the 7470 space shuttle Bottom view of the 7470 space shuttle, The yellow technic parts are used to lower the front and back landing gears. This is the shuttle's cockpit. while 1 minifig can fit inside, it wont be secure. Shuttle's cargo area, Satellite and deploying arm of shuttle Without the satellite. Sorry i can't take a photo with the satellite on the arm as i am missing some technic parts :( . Note the rubber bands used for the landing gears The shuttle's tail is moveable (left and right) Comparing 10213's Satellite and 7470's Satellite 10213 and 7470 front shot - Some how having a windscreen pieces looks much better than slopes 10213 and 7470 side shot 10213 and 7470 side shot 2 10213 and 7470 top view - Aligning them from the back engine, 7470 is longer 10213 and 7470 back view - the 7470 smaller engines are held with technic bricks so they are more sturdy. Fun shot 10213, 7470 , 6544, 6339 shuttle. Building the 7470 was fun however maybe slightly challenging if you are not a technic person, took about 2 hrs to finish building it. Comparing this with 10213, i think the 7470 shuttle has the look and feel of the real shuttle. If you like space shuttles and have the chance to grab hold of this shuttle for a decent price, do get it as well as it is well worth it. :)

    REVIEW: 21012 Sydney Opera House

Thanks for the Great review with those extra real life pictures of the Opera House. The set does capture some essence of the real Sydney Opera House but not from all angles and close ups esp from the sides does look a bit funny in my view. Guess it is a must have for Architecture fans :)

    The next space theme....

I for one will also like Blacktron to come back as a space theme. However i would like them to come out as a whole space theme themselves rather than complete each set with a good guy's vehicle. Using Sp3 as a comparison where they included the bad guys and their vehicles, i felt that the quality and design of the sp3 vehicles could have been better if they concentrated only one space police ships or bases in one set. While they had a modern look and feel but somehow it was lagging that solid built look for the kind of pricing. However looking at it, i guess it made sense since a kid who fixes up most of the SP3 sets would have a good and bad guy's ship to play with immediately. Not sure if this is too retro these days, but having a new blacktron series with some sets planned out with light and sound (optional) will definitely be a plus.

    Quick survey

Using firefox and IE mainly but to me, not much difference in terms of loading speed. 99% of the time the pages load properly and fast enough. If you didnt mention about the upgrade, guess i would have not known about it.

Is anyone good at networking PC's?

For the networking part, to be able to log on a network = you need a server (windows home server edition) and do the necessary setup (example: http://www.howtogeek.com/57729/how-to-make-windows-home-server-into-a-domain-controller/). Frankly its lots of work and maintenance down the road, and isnt cheap. If your aim is just to get storage and have files to be accessible to all home pcs, all you need is a router which handles dhcp so that it can assign an ip to any pc connected to it and a NAS. 2 - 4 bay NAS is a good start.
