Latest impact of other themes on historic themes

I don't follow this logic at all. The 90 year castle introduced many new parts that are now available for entries in the BrickLink Designer Program. Of course the castle in the forest did not have access to the parts that where not yet available. Good points. It's more about the build and display value for me. Instantly? I had no problem getting what I wanted, just open your browser as soon as it starts and you should not have a problem. For me the lack of paper instructions is a big detractor as I have passed on a few sets for that reason alone.

I now have the expectation of a large medieval set every year now as result of the BrickLink Designer Program. https://www.bricklink.com/v3/designer-program/main.page

I picked up a second castle (without figs). I captured a comparison photo before the tear down.

I voted for DRAGON'S KEEP as well. I don't know one thing about D&D, but this set looks great!

The fist time is saw 10305 I was disappointed by size of the main gate. It just does not intimidate the foe or impress the allies. Four studs on each tower is all it would take to make this into what it should have been.

For me the excitement and anticipation built and built; then the castle was revealed and I was nothing but disappointed. It's a decent build, but not great.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

Modulars have historically been great value no matter what flawed metric you use. This rumored set containing 2899 pieces for 229.99 euros (using the flawed piece count metric) is better value that 92% of the sets available now. I'll buy the next modular even if it was $1,000. #StopTheWhining #InflationIsReal

I would argue that the castle is easier to add onto than Ninjago City, but I also admit that it is more difficult than a modular building. Maybe I spoke too soon...

It surprised me that no one has yet XL'd this thing with real bricks. It makes me think that there are not as many Castle fans as we may hope. Just look at the modular line for a clear contrast; multiple XL versions pop up in a month tops. My 10305 is still sealed sitting in my storage area as I lack the desire to break it open. I think it may be that I don't want to be let down...
