That is the latest rumor. I suspect that @markopolo meant 40567 Forest Hideout.

    [MOC] BDP Mountain Fortress

I did, and that part of the build was very enjoyable. Actually that floor was by far the most interesting part of the build for me. I am looking forward to building the real thing in the next 10-12 months.

    [MOC] BDP Mountain Fortress

I am just a short while away from completing my atempt to build @SleeplessNight 's Mountain Fortress. My collection is old as I have added very few parts post 2015; I am missing 100+ pieces. I am not going to bricklink anything yet as I will wait untill more information comes out.

    [MOC] BDP Mountain Fortress

^ I am away from home this weekend, but once I am back I will verify my assumptions. Thanks @SleeplessNight. edit: Upon further investigation my build had a one stud error on one of the walls. Thanks again for details, I now have a firm foundation.

    [MOC] BDP Mountain Fortress

Six months later and I realized I don't want to wait another 10 months to a year. The shape is interesting and not as complex as it appears. I am looking forward to the final product and I suspect that there may be a few structural changes in the final product, but probbly not as other bricklink sets had nothing changed, even thought they should have. The build has been great so far, the angles and the overall layout is believeable as a small fortress in a mountain top. I have decided to build a summber version since it was in the high 90s all week long. Snow just does not come easy in this heat. It is going to be the tallest castle by far when it is complete. This angle is not the best, but once it is complete it will show better from the "Front". I think I have the footprint correct, but I am not 100% sure as the red 1x plate in the middle has some preasure on it.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

This belongs in the un-popular opinion thread. I love that they generally fit on a 32x32. I love once a year. I disagree that they are loosing charm, loosing quality from the hay days maybe. I have every singe one (have not built the jazz yet. << may give fuel to your arguments :) I wish Lego would do a modular type castle wall segment every year. Boring wall on the back but a lively building on the wall inside. I would buy that!
  12. Another Ideas set that fits our world so well. I looks to be scaled with the Balcksmith shop. Ideas Submission: Actual Product:

    Lucky LEGO finds

Back in March I was second in line for this marketplace add. I assured the seller that I would beat any other offer. I offered to pay $1,000 sight unseen, and up to $2,000 if the figs where a plenty. I ended up loosing it. I was bummed as I am a huge medieval fan and this lot appeared to have some great castles that are on my want list. My luck changed as the next day I discovered the buyer that beat me to the lot was flipping it for a quick profit. I reached back out to the original seller and he let me know that he sold the lot for $1,000 to a guy named ******. With this information in hand I went to inspect the lot. Upon arriving I asked if I could have 10-15 minutes to take a look in the bins. The first tub I found not one, not two, but four goats! This was all the confirmation I needed that this lot has not been picked through. I spent about 10 minutes quickly looking over each of the 19 tubs then made him an offer. I unloaded the bins in the garage and the tubs sat there for a few days anticipating when I could start cataloging and assembling the medieval sets. While the tubes where still in the garage I opened up each tub one by and: Pulled out the minifigs and sorted them by theme. Assessed the cleanliness of the pieces. All 17 tubs (2 had instructions) had very clean blocks. No pet hair. No clone brands. This was a very clean lot! Took note of what sets I saw and the completeness of each. Left everything but the figs in the tub. The first set I pulled from the lot was 6086. This set was mostly contained in a single large baggie. The only missing pieces where the figures and a few weapons, which I located them all in just two different bins. See the white and yellow feathers! Another largish set that was in a baggie was 7097. The only pieces I had to hunt for where the Crown Knight figures and a few weapons. At this point I have about 4 hours invested in this lot. I decided to build the 80s sets that where all mixed in one tub. I ended up building 6054 early as I wanted to see how it compared to the recent 40567. After 14 hours of diggig in I had another 14 sets pulled out, 24 in total. The MVR came together in under 30 minutes as there were two copies of this set in the lot. I often stumbed upon a great find such as this 6009 set from 1992! After four months I parted out 133 sets (103 unique) with street value of $10,027. I spent approximatly 85 hours sorting and parting out sets. $2,500 : 31 medevial sets have been added to my collection, many from the 80s and 90s! $4,327 : 50 sets have been sold on bricklink. $3,250 : 45 sets currently listed on bricklink. The remaining balance of sets I am waiting on bricklink orders to complete. I documetend my progress in a Google Docs spread sheet. The following charts I found interesting. the number of pieces (red) and the dollar value (green) sorted out over time the value over time leaving space for the days/weeks I neglected the lot The following three pictures show what is left of the 19 tubs that I started with. There are over 100 manuals left, but a large majority of the manuals are not included in this lot. All the sets pulled from this lot... - https://brickset.com/sets/list-74781 I enjoy this aspect of the hobby more than buying the latest and greatest set. It is relaxing and rewarding pulling out well over 100 sets from a pile of chaos. I am now monitoring facebook marketplace and garage sales for my next lot.

    Bricklink Designer Castle 2024

    The castle has 3,000 pieces so it will be no less than $300. 20,000 * $300 = $6,000,000 $6,000,000 * 0.05 = $300,000 $300,000 is a lot of money for most people.

    Bricklink Designer Castle 2024

The BDP sets have no paper instructions, no exclusive parts or minifigs. They are easy to source the bricks for and most collectors would have a good portion of the bricks on hand, say 25%-75%. Yet the value of the sets are well above the price of the bricks. The Castle in the forest for example is around $475 on bricklink. The pieces (new) come up to $336 shipped, skipping the sticker sheet in this case. I do suspect that the growth will be stagnant for these sets because of the lack of paper instructions and exclusive elements. I think this use case is a good example of what we can expect from the next round as well. The bricks will be $550-ish and the set will be fetching $650-$700 as soon as they are shipped. The price will go up 5% or so a year.
