  1. Update Nº04 Yay, first drop in the bucket, from many more I hope, System is working, so donate. C'mmon guys follow the example, and donate, we have most of the parts but we really need your help, to get it printed. Go here https://www.kapipal.com/f436ab1287a4453db1371ffc1d2d36c0 donate and then ask for the project link by email, it's easy and you can make Pad printed exclusives figures a reality. Question: Would you guys like a glow in the dark head made as an exclusive extra for the first few that buy the glowing skull minifig? You would still get the normal head. Or is it overkill?

Erasing printing on soft rubber parts

You might all want to take a look here http://www.swannysmodels.com/TheCompleteFuture.html the part about window cleaner might be interesting, and future can be used to seal decals and painted designs too. http://www.ipmsstockholm.org/magazine/2005/09/stuff_eng_tech_canopies.htm Might have to create a full topic just on those two links alone. ------------------------------------------------------ Safe Stripping with Orange Zest Solvents An acrylic hard ground can be stripped off in a strong soda ash solution (1 part crystals to 3 parts warm water). Or use one of the excellent citrus-based safe solvents now on the market (such as 'D*Solve', 'CitraSolv', or 'De-Solv-it') which remove acrylics, etching grounds and hardened ink and paint with great ease. 'This truly revolutionary solvent was formulated as an alternative to petroleum-based turpentines and thinners. It is made from 100% renewable agricultural resources of soy, corn, and citrus, and is non-polluting, non-carcinogenic, and bio-degradable. Less than a teaspoon will thoroughly clean a large plate. DSolve will even strip dried ink from etched lines.' Dick Blick There is a growing number of such citrus-based solvents on the market. The key ingredient, D-Limonene, also known as orange oil, the safe and innovative solvent extracted from orange peel, can be purchased directly from the citrus industry. For example, see www.citrusdepot.net. This solvent is more powerful than mineral spirits, strong enough to dissolve hardened acrylics, oil paint, printing ink, (and even some plastics) with ease, yet medical studies have found no carcinogenic or neurotoxin hazards comparable to the petrochemical solvents. Users should, nevertheless, still handle the solvent with care: ensure good ventilation and take fire precautions when using the new orange oil solvents. Unlike oil-based products, orange oil is considered biodegradable. ---------------------------------------------- d-limonene is the oil in orange peels and lemons, the white rind part, might be interesting to try it on lego prints, would be funny if it worked on plastic and rubber parts. You could go to the market and get some lemons, later that day have clean torsos, no scratches. Emil back to the lab ;) Don't use it on styrofoam it makes a glue as strong as woodworkers gorilla glues.
  3. UPDATE nº4: Hear He! Hear He! To all in this land, we need 150 people to donate in the general donation page, once you do that you are given a link to the private funding page for each fig. The page has been created, parts are orderd and on the way but we need you to reach for the wallet and help speed things along. Deadline is set for end of August (hopefully already in production or release stage by then) LET'S make it so people. One thing: the link will go out after 150 people have donated on the general page to prevent any possibility of it failing to reach the goal, since this crowdfunding platform acts as a direct donation and charges you right away, you will have the credit to buy the figs either way. But if there aren't enough people it will take longer to do (but I promise it will get done - I want mine too after all, if I have to top it off I will no worries)
  4. UPDATE nº03 Some of the harder to find parts have been ordered in advance, to avoid any availability issues. We should have them in a week or so. It's looking good peeps. See here how to donate and help us out. https://www.flickr.com/photos/118244175@N05/14034537019/ this is all very experimental (the funding system I mean) any kinks we'll have to deal as they show up. Let's see how it goes, right now it would be good to just get things running and recoup some of the investment so we can go forward faster. So come give us a hand, we already gave you, arms and heads after all, now USE them. :D Let me know of any problems you find or if you have some ideas to make things better/easier. _the Legomazing Team
  5. This is starting to get ridiculous, I mean why don't they go after designs that haven't been made, I mean C'mon they have to trace the designs, so they must have design artist on their side. How hard is it to take something from the games that hasn't been made yet. The effort is the same and their rep would go ever so slightly up with us. Plain stupid. Adam the Minifig looks excelent, first one of your lot I'm tempted to get.

    Some Custom Decals

Hell of a way to make an entrance, nice zoom.
  8. Thats why I suggested that, Warsman casts + sculpture by Genesis = AWESOME COMBO. Genesis has a few more customs on ebay that dont appear in the link I gave. you can see them here http://www.ebay.com/sch/khaye11/m.html?item=221440356878&hash=item338edfb20e&pt=US_Action_Figures&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562
  9. http://www.figurerealm.com/viewcustomfigures.php?op=4&id=15891 In case you need some inspiration here is an interesting artist, maybe you two could partner up and cast some of his sculps+ your talents. Really nice work on all of those I wonder how many of those characters will we see in actual sets.
  10. --------------------------THE CAMPAIGN IS NOW ON STANDBYE awaiting new developments http://farm4.staticf..._52ca668221.jpg This is the official "Give your Ghostbusters Minifigs a better arm project" Since the Lego set minifigs don't have the logo printed in the right arm and it's 4 of them per set, I got the idea to have arms printed with the logo in the 3 colors (red, white and black tracing). This will be an enhancement for the Official Minifigures this is the post where the madness began. http://www.eurobrick...25#entry1830330 Now the way I see it in order to make it affordable, we need to pay as a group for the parts and the printing in order for the cost to come down. The alternative would be some kind of business model/venture like other customized pieces are sold in the specialized stores we all know about (the usual suspects). I'm thinking Europe only, but that could change. I have a printing team that can do it at Lego levels of quality (have samples on the way to make sure) The graphic work is free basically, it's everywhere, I mean it's the freaking Gbusters logo, right? So what I'd like to know is are YOU(EB members) interested in making this happen, is this something YOU want, and are willing to help it happen. I'm waiting on pricing and business arrangements to work themselves out, before I delve into the nitty gritty of it. As soon as I have something work out, I'll need: 1-To know how many people want them(a public list will be posted here) 2-Who is able and has the trust of the community to work as a distribution hub (basically you would coordinate within your area or Country) Let's call you the Helpers. 3-Pricing (it's 4 minifig arms, for bricks sake it shouldn't cost us an arm and a leg) 4-How will we Coordinate things.Delivery points or some kind of tree/grapevine system. 5-Other Printers that can do the job as well or better/cheapper etc. 6-Inter fan site Coordination (basically who is active on other sites that would share our objective) Now some questions, should this be a kickstarter type thing? Should we just Cuusoo the arm print, or petition Lego to make it (they could go for it, maybe??) Let me know bellow what you think, keep it concise if possible and let's try and aproach this as a wargame scenario, by objectives and go go go till we make it. Brick on peeps. ---------------------------------- UPDATE2: 22-02-2014 Flickr page: http://www.flickr.co...05/12688000995/ email: Legomazingtoys.eu ("at") gmail.com Right now just to see interest level (there is NO commitment until we have pricing) I'd like those interested to send an Email or PM with the following info: All personal data will be kept confidential ------------------------ First + Last Name City + Country If EB member - Forum name (and paste a link to your profile page - saves me the work) ----------------------- In the text put one of these options: 1- I want to have the lego arms printed with Ghostbusters (and tell us how many you need for yourself) 2- I want to help/join the project - Ghostbusters printed lego arm 3- I support the Ghostbusters printed lego arm logo campaign but not sure if I'll buy the official set yet ----------------------------------------- This will help check the interest levels and see how we can organize ourselves in groups by location. KEEP spreading the word it's working, and if anyone has a conduit to someone official at Lego besides the ambassador here let me know (PM me if you do or email)
  11. Guys (tolkien and Sandmirror) this topic is no longer in use. And to Tolkien: - Your math is wrong, at todays rates with 75.00 USD (48euros + shipping) you can buy like 16 pairs of arms enough for 4 official GB sets. Thats what I did once these got produced by them. If anyone wants to post a review of the arms feel free, otherwise let this die down. The arms I got to me are worth it, because it finishes the minifigure off. It does what it says on the tin so to speak. For the casual buyer of this set, the lack of arm printing probably won't matter, but it does to the fans. So its nice that this is out there. I understand that the first run is all but gone and they are making a second one. That says everything. We (Legomazing) have a couple new project, that came from this ones ashes. You can check them out here: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=95537
  12. UPDATE nº01 Just to let you guys know that: -printers artwork is being prepared for the two figures as we speak -Final pricing very soon depending on the detail and nº of colors we set it up for. Glowing skull will be named - beyond villain 1 Spiral suit will be named - beyond villain 2 Email with details for payment etc will go out once at least 50 people send an email showing interest. Right now it looks like it will be full fig printing on both (heads, torso front and back +legs) arm printing will depend on a couple of things so I'll inform on that later. The super shirt will probably end up as a stretch goal, or as an add on item. Is done and available we ended up producing it ourselves: _the Legomazing Team

Erasing printing on soft rubber parts

Brasso removes a bit of the surface shine and you can't really get it like factory torso afterwords, so it's not ideal for PAD work, thats why this is such an interesting thing, if I can PAD over a torso after this with no difference from factory blanks, it would change everything in our community. I asked my people to try it and come back to me. If they do I'll let you all know

Erasing printing on soft rubber parts

Thanks for getting back with the info Emilstorm. I know that printer inks can be cleaned off with window cleaner/glass cleaner from the printer heads, and I'm betting it's the propyl glycol over there the one who did the magic, which is the common ingredient with window cleaner with the help of it's friends. Very good to know, I'll fire up my mad cientist Lab and do some tests. WE the people who are about to customize salute you. :b

CAPTAIN AMERICA VS HYDRA NAZI MECH

I'm laughing so hard right now, THAT is brilliant, monsieur le Baron. All it needs is for the sherman to transform and roll out,.and we can have a good ol'fashioned mech brawl. Amazing stuff as always Baron.

    Custom hair pieces

You know maybe the epoxy two component paints I suggested in the perfect paints topic, would be better that the dye. They don't wear nearly as much and you can actually play with stuff. I'm fooling with idea of using some PAD inks directly on plastic too, but that comes later. The thing I told you before, is basically molding hot lego plastic directly into the shape of whatever part you want, I just made an order and in a few weeks I'll test that. Might not be as good as Lego but really close hopefully. That way depending on what plastic color you use, thats the part in the color you get, it will only works for simple stuff (simple hair parts should be OK). PS: I have to have a phoenix I and II PAD printed one of these days. That Rachel just kills me. And nice choice of face (pity about the horns and purple lines or it would be spot on. - The horns tend to remind me more Marrow than rachel :b)

    Perfect Paint for Plastic

Nice homerun there Faefrost, only missed one category: Epoxy paints. which in my opinion are the best for lego customizing. KLASS KOTE EPOXY PAINTS, is the only one I know that can do a good job (I have very limited experience with these) but so far what I was able to get my hands on worked like a charm. Hard to get though, not cheap. Citadel acrylics are what most of us are used to, so these are a change. But if you can get them do so. They are used on high performance racing models. Hard wearing, permanent aplication and heat resistant. PERFECT, basically. But it takes a whole different way of working with and applying. Some airbrushing material is required for professional finish. http://www.klasskote.com/dealers http://www.fighteraces.co.uk/product/klasskote/ Hope it helps.

    Ironman MK 42

Have to agree with Sir Brickalot, mostly because this way of making MK42 makes it too bulky, and its supposed to be a thin profile/streamlined suit. If it was the underwater armor, it would work way better IMO, since that one is bulky. But its a nice sculpt either way. Question: I'd like a look at how it attachs to the legs, I have a project in the works that requires parts similar to that. http://img835.imageshack.us/img835/8559/batmansj.png the one in the left http://fc09.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2011/317/4/3/batman_beyond_exosuit_by_soulchimera-d4g0sb3.jpg Wanna help with that. PM me _Joe

Erasing printing on soft rubber parts

emilstorm could you post the cleaner you used to remove the prints, and tell us if there were any effects on the plastic afterwards. Always good to know this kind of thing, also if you have a list of the chemical ingredients involved, that would be nice. Thanks.
  20. Oh look an arms dealer! Get him! :D Nice job tovarish they look very nice. This from a non weapons guy. PS: You should try and remove the injection fracture lines, by polishing the flat spots a bit on the mold. Specially the ak police version mold. (they are visible just above the handle on that one.)

Bootleg Super Heroes minifigs - worth it or not?

https://www.youtube.com/user/digger318toyreviews/videos This YT user has some solid reviews on these knock-offs if you really are interested. Some are pretty bad, specially print misalignments but some of the acessories are interesting.
  22. Thanks, it was a fun and tricky design to pull off. Very proud of the eyes in particular. The lines around the mouth are the fabric pushing out from the nose and the mouth that is under the mask, just like in Deadpool and other masks of this type. If someone wants the more organic look instead of the back-in-black fabric suit, they can carefully remove the lines with brasso or something else. New PAD project if someone is interested.

    Custom hair pieces

That black queen, looks scrumpcious. Where are the legs from? I'm working on something to solve the perpetual lack of color options problem, for good this time. I'll let you know in 4weeks how it went.
  24. Ok As you can read above I'm waiting on developments, I consider as far as I'm concerned that the Campaign is over for now. Let's all take a step back to wait and see what happens, if you are happy with how it gets done fine, if not we can always go at it again. For now this goes in the freezer. -Joe
  25. Not you as I undestand it. Either way it wasn't just the printing that can be done anywhere, it was also the shipping and distribuition that was being set up so this could be used as a test for other projects and so we all got the very best deal (thats not what you will get now). Thats why I'm angry at them because they wasted a great partnership and lots of comissions for nothing really, the arms still get done. I detest waste. And as I've said lots of times they are good at what they do. It's that attitude and this way off dealing that has no rhyme or reason.
