Too bad there seems to be no DOS exclusive on the way seeing as Orthanc was unveiled months before LOTR wave 2 sets hit shelves. I hope for next year's TABA sets we see a $200-250 set with Smaug.

Maybe that's a tad harsh, but while I don't have anything against them personally I have to agree their reviews are kinda bad. Anyway, I haven't watched their reviews of DGA or MEF because I don't want to spoil all the surprises about the sets before I get em.

With the new Uncharted revealed last night, I thought it would be a good time to start this topic. Hopefully there are a few people here who love the series as much as I do. Really excited for this one, looks to me like So, what are your thoughts?

I think The Hobbit game will share most of the locations and some characters of the LOTR one.

Actually, the three-film split was done way back in July 2012... there's no way they started the game that early. Maybe the Pre-order minifig is old Bilbo, since I think we'll see Bilbo in his blue outfit in the TABA wave of sets.

How is LEGO going to fill in the year long gap between the DOS and TABA sets otherwise? They've still got major scenes to cover, Mount Doom is a given and we'll probably see Treebeard and the Balrog.

Man this is going to be SWEET! I don't see why they would release it earlier than the film though, they haven't done that since LEGO Star Wars 1. But why are the names of AUJ and TABA in the corner, and not DOS?

You MUST be joking me.. that is the saddest sight all year.. Oh well, thanks for posting. And TABA sets, did anybody really doubt there would be any? Hobbit game is really exciting, surprised they advertised it so early.

76017 Is a Captain America set and 76018 is Hulk's Laboratory which I think are both based on the Avengers Assemble TV show. Thanks anyways though. (Btw, The new Hobbit sets will come out I believe worldwide Dec. 1st)

So $85 over here for DGB. Eh. I'm glad It's cheaper than Mines of Moria was, but I'm still a little annoyed. $60 for Laketown is a bit on the pricey side... I might pass on that one, or at least wait for a sale.

Not necessarily, the beard might hang down just a little but not that much. Maybe they designed a new piece to elevate the head from the torso and have the hair piece fit over top of it all.

Hmm maybe you're right... That would explain the apparent lack of an alternate expression. But I'm not entirely convinced because using a Balin style piece would work just as well. The increase in height as one piece would not be very significant. I'm sure we'll see out-of-the-box pics very very soon.

I'm pretty sure that is not the case. Making it one piece would make absolutely no sense whatsoever. There's just something weird going on in that photo. A mistake by the editor, maybe.
