Review: 79001 Escape from Mirkwood Spiders
Floundie replied to Big Cam's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Better late than never, so, yeah the same thing happened to me. I just left the dwarves hanging from the tree for a while and the fabric ripped like yours did. Pretty disappointing.- 77 replies

The game is up for pre-order at several places like Future Shop, stating a release date of March 31st. It's kinda weird it's coming out on such short notice, since there was a 10 month wait for LEGO Marvel Superheroes between the announcement and release.

^That's a good solution. Several people did something similar with one of these: And cut it down to look like this, here from 's video: Not perfect, but it's something.

hm. I think Homer's head is the only one that translates well to 3D.

Nice find, deskp! I actually like that polybag. Good for stocking up on olive leaves and it's nice we get a nougat circle plate. I'd rather not have an army of Legolas though, so I'll probably only get one or two.

For the game, I think we'll get some variant of Bilbo, but I'd love to see a Thrain fig. And I hope they do another Blu-ray combo pack with a fig for DOS next year, that would be sweet.

Ah, I hadn't seen it before.

Here's a new Spider-Man polybag, courtesy of Brickset. All these Spidey vehicles, this is just silly.

I hope they don't end the Middle-Earth line so soon, it would be a huge waste and not really fair to LOTR fans considering the SW line will be running until at least 2022 (23 years as a whole, during which there have been gaps where there were no new movies or tv shows to promote). I just hope we get at least 4 years out of the line, and there's definitely enough source material in LOTR and the Hobbit to pull that off.

Totally agree with you, maybe also a backpack that fits with the Hobbit hair, that would be nice.

I'm not saying I wouldn't want Orcrist and Anduril as unique molds, but I don't see either happening if they didn't bother with them already. In my opinion Sting is the only justifiable new mold even if there are other swords that are also important in the story.

That looks awesome!

I wish I could think of something to say that meant more, but that is a truly magnificent piece of work. I cannot begin to imagine the countless hours of effort that was put into this beauty. Congrats to both of you!

Kids don't care about different sword molds.. Sting was the only sword that needed to be uniquely molded. Anduril wasn't necessary, because the long sword did the job fine without the extra and unnecessary cost of creating a brand new mold. Orcrist isn't as prominent in the story so I'm certain we won't see a mold for it.

I don't understand all the negativity towards MEA. Yes it could have been bigger, but I'd much rather have an affordable $35 set that I can double, triple, quadruple without too much expense. Perhaps it is fig focused but maybe that's not such a bad thing.

Looks awesome but I hope the final film is just DLC, that would make so much more sense. It might even be a new business strategy. By the way, here's another version of the first advertisement.

So they should be in stores soon enough. Someone should check their local TRU.

I think Smaug's attack on Lake Town might hold off till TABA. There are 18 chapters in the book. AUJ covered 6 chapters + extra material, so the next films should do the same. Chapter 12 ends with Smaug flying off to wreak havoc.

Fantastic! This is by far the coolest MOC i've seen in a while.

^ I can see the photos just fine. I like what you've done here, the differing shades of leaves make for a beautiful backdrop. Although I might point out the eagles seem out of place, and when removed they would allow for extra Minifig space.

Awesome review! We should hear about those polybags any day now, since it was this time last year we first heard about the Gandalf and Elf polys.

Found the sets at Target, and Mastermind toys. I didn't have cash then so I couldn't pick any up.
