    [MOC] Winter Village Ice Rink

Glad you like it and get some inspiration! Thank you, it was fun remembering skating rinks as a kid -- even though one of my boots fell under and behind the bench -- then into the fire pit while I was skating! I can still see that melted red rubber boot - LOL Thanks, I couldn't not utilize that part, right! Glad you like it -- I had meant to build-out and modify the whole 41322 as a small Lodge after reading your review of it. Hopefully nobody tells Anna that Kristoff was riding in a sleigh with Stephanie!
  2. Built on top of an old mine, this castley structure hides a dark dungeon beneath and behind the steps over flowing waters. Combo/ReBuild: Built using only parts from Goblin King's Fortress #41188 and Crystal Mine #41177. Water flows from the old mine cave under the Keep's steps -- with remnants of its past crystal days. From his throne room, Cronan activates the dark portal below to capture an arch enemy into his Dungeon. Who was sucked into the Dungeon through the portal? It's Farran - the earth Elf! The portal's power also pulled the baby earth dragon Floria into this dark underground hole. Farran is strapped onto a stretching rack -- all Cronan has to do is turn the crank with the grey knob and ... "aarrrghh!" He had a secret passage behind the fireplace built-in, so he could escape with coin and jewels. His faithful Shadow bird can use magic to see objects moving on the map near the Keep ... nothing gets by without notice. We can see the baby dragon is chained too!! Poor Farran has been stretched and still doesn't know what secrets Cronan wants! The entrance gate is kept locked. Can anyone help free Farran before the crazy knob cranks the chains even more?

    [MOC] Cronan's Country Keep

Thank you! It's always a challenge to balance the colors when using parts from only one or 2 sets ... I do love Spring Yellowish Green though!

    [MOC] Winter Village Gingerbread House

Yum! As others have commented -- the train is adorable and quite an unexpected surprise!

    [MOC] Cronan's Country Keep

Thank you! I agree about forcing our 3D-minds to think of a solution with bricks on the table. A Fallingwater Castle would be awesome! Thanks for the idea :-) The dungeon originally had a goblin in there doing the torturing () -- yet it was too cramped. I spent time making the "rack" chains actually function, yet it was hard to capture in photos. Turning the Technic crank mechanism wraps the green trans chain around it, but the whole thing had to be attached to the ceiling (floor of Keep), which hid it too much. Best view of the cave/dungeon is from under the steps -- which originally were meant to 'swing' out of the way. Definitely lessons for me for future Dungeons ;-)
  6. MOD of 41181 Naida's Gondola, with added parts from only 41193 Aira & the Song of the Wind Dragon and 41072 Naida's Secret Spa. Propeller power! Naida uses her compass and spyglass to plot a course, and magic water element to power her journey up the river. Relaxing while cruising along under the canopy -- enjoying her miniature cherry tree's fruit ... The propeller can be lifted out of the water for docking. With the propeller out of the water after docking her gondola, she takes some magic water for her journey ...

    [MOD] Naida's (Power) Gondola

I agree ... isn't all technology a form a magic anyway ;-) Thank you :-) Thanks -- and good idea for the connection -- glad they make the 1x1 plate with hole in gold, and wish they would have those in every LEGO color!

    [MOC] WindGuardian Leviosah

I probably should have photographed Aira next to her for scale. Maybe all the elements should have one ;-)
  9. WindGuardian Leviosah The protector of wind elements to ensure no one harness its power for evil. Speak her name twice quickly and she will vanish the evil act in a vacuum for all to see. Built with only parts from Elves 41193 Aira & the Song of the Wind Dragon -- of which I adore for the little music house on a cloud! My first ever statuette build. Thanks for meeting her!

    MOC : Police Station ( Modular ) ( Remodeled )

Wow! So many details in such a large build -- of course, your specialty ;-) My favorites are the "star" tickets embed into the floor tiling in the entry, inside the garage attic , and your helicopter!

    [MOC] Cronan's Country Keep

Thank you, I'd like to build similar steps in more detail in a proper castle creation ... some day ;-) Thanks, it really is a "mini" dungeon, isn't it; hard to see (and photograph) all the details. So many other evil ideas had to be cut during creation. :-)

[MOC] House in the Old District

Yes, I had the month of October in mind ... especially the 31st:

[MOC] House in the Old District

House in the Old District with a Blackthorn Tree is home to a mysterious Lady ... there are a few clues to her origins. There's always been pumpkins growing on this craggy patch ... There's a secret window in the back, leading to the Cellar door. Inside are a few more clues on her desk and wardrobe. Her furniture: Wardrobe with natural remedies, including a bottle of unicorn tears; and a desk for reading letters by candlelight ... Lady caught that pumpkin smasher!! A few more inside (cellar) views & clues in its album. Thanks for visiting.

[MOC] House in the Old District

Thank you. I recall seeing a movie in which part of the plot was to capture unicorn tears for some magic purpose ... just can't remember what movie Colors developed from opening an Elves set, then thinking about old houses in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA. Plus a certain holiday in October ... As for the Pumpkin Smasher, let's hope she doesn't take that naughty kid into the Cellar!

[MOC] House in the Old District

Everyone should have a bottle of unicorn tears, right! Thanks, horns to thorns -- such fun pieces! Glad you like the pumpkins! I need more Thanks, I had started building an entirely dark purple house, yet the medium Lavender helps offset the balcony columns. The hair for the Lady is probably my fave right now, for some reason.

[MOC] "A Home for Anton" - My ReBuild of 21310

Glad you like the stone grill. It's hard to build things like this to look 'cobbled together' without looking like a brick mess ;-) Thank you! Good to see you back ... in time to visit my creation. Thanks for your kind words about the details; building with parts from 'only' one set for a ReBuild challenges a builder's cleverness in using just those bricks & elements. I love a challenge!

    [MOC] Julian's ~ A Downtown FroYo Shop

Welcome to Julian's ~ A downtown FroYo Shop ReBuild of LEGO Friends 41320 -- using only those parts. Julian decided to move downtown when this sweet corner spot opened up. He got tired of cars parking in his drive-thru at the old location. This corner storefront has a glass tiled entry, bay window, room for a deck and roof expansion. As you can see on the table through the bay window, he lets customer add chocolate or strawberry sauce to their frozen yogurt. Julian is getting ready to open, so he checking the menu for the day, after checking the cold-counter up front that keeps his Strawberries and FroYo. Inside the one of the front curved window he displays the cherry danish and the chocolate bar rack is nearby. Getting ready for the day! After making sure he has cash, he knows he needs to check his refrigerator. Yep, a good supply of watermelon too! He keeps the cones handy by the frig. Julian is ready for customers after opening the back deck. Another reason he liked this spot downtown -- room in the back to expand. Oh, hey, there's a customer sitting on the deck ... or is it an 'old' Friend? Sure, it's Olivia! Julian is ringing up a vanilla for her. Olivia decided to wait for Julian in the alley break area that has a small canopy and Lemonade dispenser. Another reason he likes this spot. Julian also has a Festival booth, with so many downtown, such as the annual "Taste of Heartlake City" that he wouldn't want to miss. He preps his soft-serve equipment by getting Olivia a chocolate FroYo cone. She already bought his last Peppermint-chocolate cupcake. Here's an up-close of his equipment: Refrigerator, Menu, Rooftop Sign, and front Cooler Cabinet. The Frig's cold drawer slides out -- it's the clear shelf reversed onto the trans-blue windscreen which has bottom holes to clutch. I love the 2x3 grey brick with 4 studs on the side used for his menu! The rooftop sign is connected with a brown ink well element (same as nozzle on top of chocolate sauce container) that keeps a better fit for the purple dome piece than just with the white tile with stud. The cooler cabinet with Strawberries on display actually started out as Art/Signage above the front door like older shops in downtowns. Thanks for viewing!

2018 Friends Sets - Rumours and Discussion

If you just "tap" the grey Technic beam of the Launcher, it will go about 18 inches, on a flat surface. If you "slam" it (as many people refer to the Launchers as Slammers), then it could probably go 3 feet (36 inches) or more -- on a straight path. Here's an image of Andrea's Go-Kart: I barely tapped for image-sake. The Karts have proper weight-to-wheel ratio to 'go' well. Hope that helps :-)

    [MOC] Merida's Secret Keep

ReBuild/Combo with using only bricks from 2 sets of 41051 Disney's Merida's Highland Games -- plus one gold lattice door window (I was surprised it didn't come in the set). Merida "Bravely" surveys her land from top of the turret. Her archery skills are famous -- yet she also has front & rear-aiming catapults containing fireballs from her front Lanterns. It's so secret, even her little brothers don't know about it. Side view of her Keep -- she uses the old tree that grew into and through her sentry mini-castle to climb up on top. After seeing no threat, she enjoys fishing at the bubbling brook near her window. A fairy has landed on the mushroom growing out the old stump. They both enjoy her using her mage staff to lull the fish from the water. The view inside the front door. She keeps an extra forest luminary by the front doorway. A crystal lamp illuminates her cozy den with comfy chair -- where she always keep an extra key! Around the back she can enter from the side where she has a chair by the brook. She keeps a key handy at all times. Inside her den you can see her chair by the window that she can keep an eye out for bears and munch on a drumstick or cookie. The fish has been smoked and will be dinner. She hangs her bow, yet it's within easy reach. With a fish entranced, Merida enjoys the peace and tranquility of her Keep. Thanks for viewing. This is my first "Castley" type of build :-)

    [ReBuild] Hot Chocolate Stand

An Alternate/ReBuild of 41319 Snow Resort Hot Chocolate Van. Amanda is deciding what to order while standing under the canopy, safe from sun and snowflakes. The cuppa hot cocoa sign is still on top and still rotates, because it's such a fun concept! Mia works at this cuppery too -- to raise money for a new Heartlake City animal shelter (because the Vet clinic is over-capacity with animals, and in violation of city code ... if I recall correctly from that episode). When I first saw images of set 41319, I immediately envisioned a canopy for that 'big' Azure piece! I made a point of *not* looking at the instructions when I opened the box; so I'm not even sure how similar my machines are to it. One aspect I wanted to do was get those new lovely magenta curved tiles out from under other bricks! They are the half-skid cart's back seat cushion top. Even though she didn't come in this set, Stephanie has come along and chats with Amanda at the table. There's a map printed on the center of the table, so it's always there for new customers. Both Stephanie and Amanda are placing an order. The table has a boot shelf with warmer under it, so they'll be warm while sitting. Amanda is thinking about another cookie ... while you can see inside the stand -- Mia is hard at work on the Hot Chocolate machine. Hot Chocolate machine -- view of it from inside and from front counter. Amanda decides on another cup and a cookie. Mia adds more chocolate to the machine and rings up the cash register. [the 1x1 brown tile is the chocolate, as the set didn't come with a printed chocolate bar :-( ] Amanda goes for the whipped cream dispenser ~ Mmmmm! Mia gets ready for the next customer by checking the machine, plus restocking cookies and donuts. While Stephanie asks Mia about after the stand closes, Amanda enjoys the view from the bench. My version of a half-skid cart, from the parts available in this set. Basically the other windscreen was way too big, and there wasn't a piece to tilt the smaller window -- so it's formed like a resort golf cart. It just has ski-skids up front for snow. While the set does have that silly small steering wheel (that no fig can grab) I finally removed it to move the windscreen back a row and down. Let's pretend it's a self-driving cart, Tesla knock-off ;-) I love that curved tile piece! Here is the core build of the stand with only the awning, without the canopy; the furniture and equipment: Table, Chair(s), Counter, Hot Chocolate Machine, and Bench. Not being a fan of stickers myself, the "banner" is attached with only a mere slice of backing cut off; this way I can remove it and save my green flag piece. Mia and Stephanie ride back to the Snow Resort together ... "Wait, is that the same sweater I'm wearing?" !! LOL Thanks for viewing!
  25. Windmill Workshop for Aira: Re-build and modification of Aira's Creative Workshop 41071, using parts only from Aira's Pegasus Sleigh 41077. Up high on a mountain top, partially hidden by clouds, she has a workshop to create wings for her fly -- using the wind power element. The windmill's wing-blades can be turned by using the wind power key -- found on the back above her workshop. She uses watchmaker's magnifying glass to make precise measurements and markings. She can practice using her new wings by landing on the key, or the tree where a special crystal grows below. See the crystal tree details and more images in the set on flickr, plus a video of the turned by the Wind Key! ~Enjoy~
