They have sold one and have three left. They also have the new Spider-Man poly. Well I think it's new.

Seems to,be working, I'm getting sucked into the Star Wars vortex. Especially with more OT sets coming out, resistance is becoming futile.

The description says includes land speeder, dewback, and 8 minifigures. So no.
-
Yeah most probably go by grandma.

So 79018 box size is 22" x 14" x 3". Similar size box as pirate ship ambush set. Is that a standard size? Or tell us how many pieces? That's if the info is correct of course. Why does the listing start at hobbit 5? Even if the info is true it really says nothing about the fate of TLoR. And nothing is written in stone. So until TLG says no more LoTR or its a year later and still no word I see no reason why we should not expect a final wave. I certainly don't intend to wrap myself in knots every time a non confirmation rears its ugly head.

I completely agree about the balrog. I certainly want one. There seems to be more a emphasis on getting Minas tirith which I understand but I think children are much less interested in.

My 6 year old daughter has not seen LoTR but has seen the video game and the sets. The one place she identifies most with from,LoTR is Mt. Doom. She likes volcanoes as most kids probably do. I think given a choice between playing with something that shoots out fire and can explode and a city, the volcano is going to win every time. Most children are not interested in replicating TLoR, they just want something fun to play with. And they can use something called imagination to make it what ever they want it to be.

TLG is pushing back the winter release of Star Wars sets in the u.s. in order to,focus on the lego movie. http://www.groovebricks.com/lego-star-wars-2014-set-available-in-march/ So it's understandable why we haven't heard anything about the third wave of TLoR. TLG seems to be going all out to ensure the lego movie is a huge success. Maybe they will show TLoR line some of that love later this year.

[LDD MOC] 71,000 piece, 13-foot Super Star Destroyer

I think I would add at least a zero to the figure. And then maybe double that. Not too many people could do what you did. Awesome job. -
It's a controlled leak. A little teaser to get everyone excited without revealing too much. The photo is framed way too perfectly to have been a quick photo and if you were Going to take a quick shot wouldn't you try to get the whole page.

I think releasing the final LoTR wave in October is a brilliant marketing move. TLG takes advantage of the upcoming hobbit movie without over shadowing it. The movie will provide interest in both lines just in time for Christmas. Plus both lines will benefit in 2015 from any blu ray/ DVD releases of individual and 6 movie trilogy releases. I imagine these sets will be very difficult to get by early to mid December. And that way too TLG can focus more on those lines and hopefully give it the attention they deserve. We can all hope the TLG has saved the best sets for last.

The targets around me were wiped out last year too. It took them a few weeks to fully restock. This year is much the same except they seem to have a good deal of city sets left.

Except PoTC is no where as good as LoTR. Nor does it have the same kind of following. PoTC's curse was it should have stopped after 2 movies.

Yeah I was being facetious.

Maybe a ucs brick built gandalf?

My guess is a dwarf. Bilbo was the exclusive for the first movie and legolas has his own poly bag. But in any case I bet it will depend on the third wave. Maybe a variant of an Orc we might get later in a set.

I doubt we will hear anything official about TLoR until after the lego movie is launched. There is no real need for TLG to distract from all that they just launched, the hobbit, and all the are about to launch in January and February. I know we are all waiting for that collective sigh but I'm afraid it won't be for awhile longer.

"Now on the topic of there being no news: the fact that we haven't heard or seen any evidence of a new LOTR wave is unsettling me very much. I tried to see if I could get any sort of info from Jordan Scott via his tumblr page, but alas he is unable to confirm or deny anything. Part of me wants to begin a petition of sorts and bring it to the attention of LEGO, in the hopes of securing a final wave of LOTR sets. While that may seem a bit much, it might come to that, lest we never see any more LOTR sets again." Seems to me one would be able to say if you are not going to do something. If we,want to play such games. Here is another thought. Maybe the third wave of LoTR would be released with the third wave of the hobbit? I can see TABA being filled with links to the LoTR and what better way to link the two together. Plus as many have mentioned sets do better when released with the movie. Perhaps a combined last wave of seven or eight sets with some representing the foreshadowing in the hobbit and actual events in TLoR. Just.a thought.

You have any idea how long I played with boba fett? How much screen time did he get in the original trilogy? And he is still one of my favorite Star Wars character. Kids could care less how much a character is in a movie. All that matters is that they are cool and fun to play with.
-
I doubt we will hear until after the new year. TLG did just release the hobbit wave, plus all the new waves that come out the beginning of the new year. Plus lego the movie and a new lego hobbit video game. Seems like their priority right now would be else where and not reassuring the hand full of people here who are sure that no news is bad news.
-
I would love to have those sets myself. But these type of lists have appeared before and they are usually far off the mark.
-
If that list is real I'm a monkeys uncle. While it is the wish list of most everyone here, the source has zero credibility. So until we see an ounce of proof it's safe to say my grandmother could have come up with the same list.

Apparently in the book Peter jackson read.
