LEGO Star Wars 2014 Pictures and Rumors

I highly doubt it. Two yes, three no. TLG would be limiting the scenes you could create, which is,one of the main selling points of the set. The squidward on the left has lighter colored pants which I believe indicates a different figure. Personally I'm hoping for Ponda Baba.

    LEGO LotR - general discussion

As a Tolkien fan I feel like, there is a great many things TLG could do,with these two lines. Both second waves were underwhelming with a few exceptions. But the realities are that only so many sets are going to be made and only a select few are going to be large. I just wish their choices had been better. They still have time to redeem themselves and renew the excitement that some of those here have lost. If there ends up not being a third TLoR wave it will be sad. A great opportunity squandered and most likely never to be revisited.

    LEGO LotR - general discussion

I think if they were going to merge the,two lines they would have already done so. The Hobbit has been directed more, toward children where as TLoR was more toward the AFOL. Thus the need to keep them separate. I'm just hoping for one more wave of TLoR but I don't have the feeling TLG would continue beyond that point. They just don't seem that invested in the two trilogies to maintain a longer term commitment. The,lego movie seems to sucking life away from other lines. But for the, long term it's a smart move for,TLG. Agreed, it already stretched a bit thin.
  5. Lego juniors, 2 batman sets, Star Wars and some others have all been delayed until march in North America. TLG's explanation for the Star Wars delay is so they can focus on the release of the lego movie.

    REVIEW: 70804 Ice Cream Machine

How about turning the ice cream truck into a villains vehicle that uses the giant cone as a drill. It terrorizes the citizens of,heartlake city will its annoying music and drills into its buildings to knock them down. Not sure my daughter would go for it. She wasn't amused when the Death Star destroyed(pretended) the dolphin cruiser.

    Future The Hobbit Sets?

The Smaug set is intriguing. It's hard to say what direction TLG will go with Smaug. That is assuming we get him, but if we don't that would be a huge disappointment to most people. I was entertaining two other options. The first a molded Smaug that would be included in the $60-70 set. Something along the lines of dragon mountain 70403. It's not too terribly pricey for children who are going to be most excited about getting a Smaug. I know it's less exciting but based on all the previous hobbit sets I feel it's probably the most likely option for,TLG. The other one of course would be a Lego exclusive 2000+ piece brick built behemoth that be a stunning display piece. One that would do justice to the size and stature of Smaug. It would appeal to great deal of people who may or may not care about The Hobbit. It would even appeal to those who are in their dark ages as dragons are a popular mythical creature. My problem with your size set is it may be too pricey for some children's parents and it might be too smalll to do it justice. I can already hear the complaints that they should have made it much, larger. But who knows. Only time will tell.

Dwarf forge sounds great. I've always been partial toward dwarves. It ,would be great to have some of the inside of Erebor .

Funny how the long time lurkers seemed to be getting the non automated responses. Bricklink? It's highly unlikely TLG is recommending people to buy from resellers. And why even mention older sets when TLG is obviously still selling TLoR sets. Not to mention the newly released and future hobbit sets. The question was about a line continuing, not, about retiring/retired sets. The responses from TLG that are appearing from this new wave of members seems to be all over the map. So either these reps, really have no idea (highly likely) or some ones chain is being yanked. I'm guessing both.

They do indeed. It's part of market research. It's not enough to know, your product is selling. You want to know what people think about it, the good and the bad. Sites like this are treasure troves of feedback that tends to be brutally honest. The impact of what we say can only be measured by future sets, and some times its obvious they are getting the message.

Well the problem is that others have made claims only having posted a few times and then disappeared altogether. And when these claims haven't panned out it makes everyone suspect.

But they would already know that answer. TLG would have had a plan already in place when they started working on both lines. The plan would have had to be adjusted due to the third hobbit movie of course but an adjusted plan would have quickly followed. Due to the time it takes to plan and develop their lines they would know what was coming down the pipeline. Like I said many times before there is nothing known to us that would preclude TLG from releasing a third TLoR wave in the first quarter of 2015.

Assuming this is a real response, which I have some doubt, it really says nothing. I could see someone having a bit of customer service experience giving a longer than normal response while still in the end giving no real information. Why mention discontinuing less popular lines and then say that TLoR is popular? Why talk about the hobbit line as if its supplanting the release of more TLoR sets? And who refers to TLoR as classic? They believe there is a large enough following yet they have no idea if it can continue on? They also seem to be switching back and forth between using acronyms and spelling out The Lord of the Rings. It all does not seem to add up. It's almost like it was cut and pasted together. That being said while its great to contact TLG to tell them your thoughts, you are not going to get information about future releases. The last people who are going to know about such things are most likely customer service reps. If you keep secrets from the general public like TLG does, the last people you want knowing what is going on are the people in direct contact with the public. Not to say they don't hear rumors or such but they are most likely not going to be told until right before the public release. That is one of the many ways TLG is able to keep such a tight lid of their goings on. Perhaps in the future for those not posting at all you could just say hi before unloading such a post and hope we embrace it so.

LEGO Star Wars 2014 Pictures and Rumors

Well where to even begin. There are these things called contracts that are negotiationed to which each, party agrees to. They determine a great deal including direction of lines etc. it's a collaboration in coming up with sets and its the licensee approving the final product. If you think that Disney says hey just make whatever you want, well that is just plain crazy. Companies have these things called strategies, and their products reflect that. Honestly does anyone really believe that a company who paid $4 billion dollars for the Star Wars franchise is going to leave their fate to the decisions of another company? All licensees play apart in what sets are produced. That's the way it works. It's no different if you went to a home builder and say build me a house. What you are saying the home builder could just do whatever they want because they know best. I am not a huge Disney fan, it's just how things regardless if you like it or not. Frankly rambling on about turkey and Hezbollah who nothing to do with this really undercuts your believability.

    Future Star Wars Sets

For the most part the vast majority of the sets coming out until the next movie are going to be from OT. Disney is going to want to get everyone up to speed to the end of RotJ so they can jump right into episode vii. That being said I would love to see a cloud city and degobah.

LEGO Star Wars 2014 Pictures and Rumors

Well to be honest I was five when Star Wars first came out. I dont really view any of the characters to be obscure. Sure some are obviously more important than others. But they all played a role in many, many, many hours of,playing Star Wars as a kid.

From what i understand yes on the sandcrawler. Then a mix of Esb/Rotj with hope of getting cloud city and degobah. They are probably going to want to hit,the highlights.
