That's a high number of figs, doubt we will see that many for a set priced £80. I would guess around 6. Luke, Leia, Han, Chewbacca, a rebel scout and a scout trooper with bike. I would rather see a well made Tydirium than one loaded with figure that it could not possibly hold.

New Collecter, advice appreciated...
Darth Punk replied to BinaryBrick's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Orthanc will most likely retire first seeing as it's two year anniversary is in July. Two years is the typical life cycle of exclusives. The middle earth license is also likely to expire this year, but when is not known. Next would be the Maersk, released Jan 2014, followed by Simpsons Feb. 2014. As slave 1 was just released this month you have plenty of time. As for the Death Star, you might have a better chance picking a winning lottery ticket than guessing when it will retire. It's been out since 2008 and no end is in sight. Every year since 2010 every time a big Star Wars exclusive comes out people predict it will replace the Death Star. But I wouldn't wait too long, with TFA coming soon they may finally decide to say farewell. -
The final duel set might have one, but hardly guaranteed. Other than that probably none this summer.
-
The royal guard has been seen in TFA concept art so it's also possible that the shadow troopers still exist as well. But I don't think the set itself is some kind of hint since it would have been planned awhile ago.

It's the one ship you really can't mess around with too much. Too much of an icon that's recognized even by non Star Wars fans.

The LEGO Movie snubbed for Oscars
Darth Punk replied to Blondie-Wan's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
Frankly I could care less about the oscars. There are scores of great actors and movies that have never gotten nominations. It's mostly a popularity contest for Hollywood. Studios spend a great deal of money for advertisement every year that is aimed directly at the Academy. Mainly because winning is great for further promoting a film. I've never watched a movie that seemed better because it had win an award nor a movie that seemed worse because it hadn't. Citizen Kane a movie many believe to be the best movie ever made was viewed an utter disaster when it was released and whose film was almost destroyed because of it. Makes what a small group of people think less important as it's ultimately about one enjoys. -
I posted a similar question here http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=104273&st=25 My response would be that reviews on s@h are pretty useless. The format greatly limits any real useful information other than the usual I loved it, hated it, I'm happy or sad. Plus there are generally a very small number of reviews because most people don't take the time to complete one thus it's more likely someone has a particular motivation for completing a review. Not to mention to knowledge level of the average s@h user is not going to be at the same level of the average eurobricks user. Here someone can take a good deal of time and put forth much effort to provide a detailed look at a set. They can include a wide range of photos of details that people here care about. Provide information on new pieces, minifig variations etc. Not to mention questions can be asked for further information and people can add a variety of perspectives and thoughts that can enhance the overall review. This is only a small snapshot of what can be find here but you get the idea. It is also what someone who has more than a general interest is going to want to know.

Looks like they used a sharpie on Fred's face. I thought he had a mustache at first.

Who's first holiday? Is that meant to be a hint?

For all concept art or just concerning rebels?

I would recommend getting this http://www.ghostery.com/ I don't think that just clearing out your cache will get rid of the ad trackers which is what is causing the problem. Could also be you are logged into Google at the same time. I realized later I was logged in when I was having the problem, something I don't usually do on this device.

I'm right there with you. Which was my point that children don't need the toy to be a replica of the new show. TLG can go old school and everyone will be happy.

What the color change in the Green baseplates?
Darth Punk replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I was waiting for that. In the 80's Coke changed their formula and came out with New Coke. It was horrible, and seemed like a complete disaster. Coke quickly discontinued the product and introduced Coke classic. It was an instant success and sales went through the roof. The only different between the original and the classic was the word classic, exact same formula. Marketers use words like classic because they work. -
What the color change in the Green baseplates?
Darth Punk replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Classic is no different than calling a product premium. A marketing term that doesn't necessarily describe a product but it is used to evoke an emotional response. -
More to the point the targeted audience of scooby doo isn't going to be obsessing because their toy doesn't exactly match what they see on tv. They will not be telling their parents that Fred's hair could have been better if they had used a different piece. That's left to the adults here. Yes they will see the difference but if it looks similar they are happy. Yes they do appreciate a certain level of accuracy but it is not a requirement. Anyone who has young children knows you can give them a box and that box becomes a rocket ship, pirate ship etc. They won't spend their time complaining that their 'toy' does not look exactly like the real thing because generally children possess a thing called imagination.

Does TLG filter negative reviews on S@H?
Darth Punk replied to jodawill's topic in General LEGO Discussion
The concept of valuing other peoples opinion is hardly new. I guess if you know everything about everything then other peoples experience and perspective might not be so useful. But of course we would probably be still living in caves without the exchange of ideas and experiences to further advance our world. The question I have is if you find opinions so unnecessary why are you on eurobricks expression your own? I agree even bad reviews can provide useful information. Amazon is a perfect example since it has such a wide range of products thus attracting a very diverse clientele. I tend to like to read the good and bad as it gives the best overall perspective. Sometimes you can find uses and features of a product that you hadn't considered before thus affecting the value of the product. -

Predictions for Collectable Minifigures Series 14
Darth Punk replied to Cy_Bored1337's topic in Special LEGO Themes
You'll have to change #2 to the headless horseless man since it seems unlikely a horse will appear in a cmf bag. The pumpkin mask will most likely appear in the scooby doo theme since there are never real monsters, just people in costume. The rest seem to hold some good possibilities. -
I hope there isn't much if any legends. The description I read made no mention of legends, only the movies, clone wars and rebels. Speaking of canon has anyone read Tarkin? I was thinking about getting it but have seen some really mixed reviews.

I was thinking that target did something for the friends line as well.
-
Yes and I grew up liking both but,my oldest is a big fan of scooby doo due to all of the available cartoons. And while children might like the ghostbusters movies, they are geared more toward adults. But none of this perceived popularity matters since TLG isn't producing a ghostbusters line that we know of. Seeing how we have Ecto-1 I find it unlikely we will be seeing one any time soon especially since it looks like ghostbusters iiii may never get made. And without a movie, show, or cartoon in current product TLG would not likely consider making one.
