    Favourite Imperial Faction!

Bluecoats rule! Plus they are inherently French. (Well to be honest I simply always had more of them, hence it was cheaper for me to concentrate on blues for my army and marines.)

If you owned every 2009 set and could have one more...?

If I could have one more, I would go for Brickbeards Bounty because its the only ship in the new pirates series so far and also because all the other sets dont really feature anything that I would consider as being very interesting. They are all rather simply build. But thinking of the prices this isnt very likely to become reality since none of the sets gives very good pieces for Mocing (in relation to what it costs) and I currently need every cent I can get for a almost minifig scale 80gun sotl

Cap'n Sully Hawkbill- PTV II Medium Entry

This certainly is a very nice idea, but i would agree with the posts above that there still is room for improvement. Personally, Im not a big fan of studs showing up. Additionally to what has been suggested already, i would strongly recommend tiling. The main downside is thats its expensive and the parts needed are rather difficult to get. But at some point, you should try it I guess.

    MOC: Pirates rock

I like it. Its so damn evil. Poor redcoat soldier. But I guess he deserved it Thats the good thing about the new sharks: they really look frightening. And they can completely "eat" minifigs.

Parrot's Perch Pub PTV2 Contest Entry -medium

Thats an absolutely amazing creation. Though I think doing the sea with tiles or sloping transparents could make it even better. The story you suggested is in my opinion also a rather nice one.

I really like your lantern. My favourite of the small entrys so far. All the details go together quite nicely.

    Help on my new ship

If you want to build a realistic looking ship with the standard Lego hull sections, its actually quite useless to add much interior since either the deck would be too low or the outward apeareance would suffer. Also you have to consider the sails and rigging which make a modular design in this size complicated. The only solution would be a small sloop without a closed deck, but then its not really "interior", is it? A less realistic design - like the official sets- can of course feature a rich interior and much playability, but it will always look like a toy, rather than a mighty man o'war I would suggest to use at least 3 mid sections since the lenght at the waterline should be about 3.5 to 4 times as long as the maximum width. If you prefer a very small design, you might want to use the smaller hull pieces, like in the imperial flagship or the armada lagship. The parts you need can best be bought at bricklink.com. Its quite expensive, but you get simply EVERYTHING. Hope this helps.

Which is mightier - Black Seas Barracuda OR Brickbeard's Bounty?

Interesting to know. Historically, you are absolutely right to see the crew's skill as the most important strenght of a man o' war. Also BBs sails are not very well attached to the masts. I'm not sure if this was mentioned already, but to me the poor constructionn of BB's propulsion makes the difference. BSB=win

The worst thing that can happen to a LEGO Pirate collector

Dogs cannot see red colour. Brave bluecoat soldiers can stand up to anything, even monster dogs.

10210 Imperial Flagship - UPCOMING SET!!!

WOW just WOW. Although not very realistic, this may be the best Lego pirate set so far; I havent bought anything but parts from both Bricklink and Pick a Brick the past few years. But I'll have to buy this set I guess. And I'll make a video of my 2nd rate sinking it in one single broadside.

    Signing the Peace Treaty

The peace treaty itself is a great idea in my opinion. But well, if I were you I would SNOT the floor instead of tiling it to make it look more like marble. Also, the use of SNOT makes every MOC more interesting. http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=2436 I would suggest using these brackets; they allow a SNOT floor without any visible changes to the outer wall. http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=4070 You could use 1x1 bricks with headlights for the table legs which I would do using 1x1 cones. a plate below the table can attach it to the wall.

    Pirates Air-Band

Seems very creative to me! But doesnt the suit decal of your singer belong into another time period?

Pillage the Village II: The Calm After the Storm

Hi there! I am currently building a french 80 gun ship of the line in 1:52 scale (gundeck length 116cm). Since i made good progress, i assume that the hull will be done until the end of october/beginning of november. Rigging will take an awful amount of time, so i had the idea to put a roof on the hull and present it as a ship "in ordinary" for the PtVII contest in the large category. This symbolizes the calm before the storm quite good in my opinion. Well, I also have to say that I am really happy, that a forum like this exists. Btw, what do you have to do to become a "MOC expert"?
