MOC: Vega from Street Fighter
Lord_Bloodwort replied to woodearth's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
You could cheat and use a space police skull mask for Vega's if you weren't able to find anything better. Might have to cut the teeth or fill them in somehow so it totally covers the face. -
New Arealight Custom Torso's
Lord_Bloodwort replied to I Scream Clone's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
I love their stuff, but i wish they included arms and legs for the price. 15 bucks for a head, headdress and torso gets a bit pricey after awhile. That said, i toyed with the idea of making an Orc/Troll slavegirl using the sand green "oola" body and Troll head with spare Slave Leia hair. I also like how they're making mostly characters that were in the Legacy Comics (Fem Trooper, Tattooed Sith Twi'lek (aka Darth Talon), and the blue body with the white outfit (aka Astral Vao) And seriously, who DOESN'T want more Lego Slave girls? XD Hmm...slavegirl Ventress anyone? :D -
Senate Commandos (and CAPTAIN) for the WIN! I agree it seems kind of odd they omitted Aurra Sing, but hopefully she's in the works :)

I just received the new 2010 sets from Amazon.fr
Lord_Bloodwort replied to willybob's topic in LEGO Star Wars
What's the Aayla Secura minifig like? I couldn't wait, so i got the Arealight parts a couple months ago and made my own. Are the head tails flexible at all? Or is the entire head hard plastic like the rest of it? -
Absolutely beautiful!  Reminds me of the UES Destroyer from Escape Velocity: Override (mac shareware game) Love the design of the fighters too!
-
Great work, but it seems just barely large enough for Vader's TIE, let alone the Defender escorting him out (Thanks for including the pic as a size comparison of the two as well!)
-
1) AT-AT Driver/TIE Defender Pilot 2) Bossk 3) Thi-Sen then 4) CW Grievous 5) Aayla (would be higher on my list if i hadn't bought the Arealight one) 6) Boba (Sorry, it just looks too much like an Action figure head plopped onto a lego body to me)

Outstanding work!
-
Can it actually seat a figure? If i had the space, i would totally buy this as a set! :D
-
Great...now i gotta get Oola! LOL Great pic!
-
I bought the Aayla, and the arms from a Rebel Fleet Trooper match up quite nicely I think. As for the sand green, Trolls from the Castles series should work for Oola.

Just wanted to say that I am totally blown away by how freakin awesome the artwork is! Who knew Pinups and Lego would work so well together?! LMAO Brickie Page anyone? :D

You beat me to it! LOL I bought the head, headdress and torso for Aayla, and received her on tuesday. The arms ("borrowed" from a Rebel Fleet Trooper) were a bit tight to snap in, but they're nice and tight. Legs went in easily (the poor troll that donated them is half the troll he used to be though LOL) I didn't have blue hands, so i swapped the flesh hands from the RFT with the gray hands from one of my Sand People and voila! I later noticed that the official Aayla coming out with the turbo tank has gray hands too! (at least she did at toyfare) Also got a pair of the sun visor/binocular pieces. Still have to mod my Cmdr. Bly helmet to take the binocular one, but the visor one fits perfectly on one of my other clones from the Spider Droid set. :) About the only thing i don't like is the $15 US cost for a head, torso and headdress...Maybe i'm just cheap, but 60 bucks for the other 4, without arms or legs seems a bit expensive, even though they ARE custom molded and printed pieces.

I didn't have this specific set, though i do recall having an Ambulance set (still have the EMT minifig, minus hands, head and left leg LOL) I also have most of the cars from a later city road race set that used the same design for the cars. They really need to make more sets like this...sets where you can use your imagination instead of just putting together a model kit, as the Star Wars sets have become mostly. Great review, and a great little slice of nostalgia! :)

Great review! :) This set was one of my first Lego Star Wars sets (after the TIE interceptor from the same year, and the Episode III Grievous Wheelbike set with Obiwan). It's easily one of, if not my favorite Prequel trilogy ships, the CW Delta-7 being a close second. I almost wish they'd do more small fighters along this line, or even re-issue this one again. If Hasbro can do an "Imperial V-Wing", why can't Lego too?

Best SW set in the 10 years of Lego Star Wars
Lord_Bloodwort replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in LEGO Star Wars
My personal top 3 would be: Sets that i OWN: 1. V-Wing 2. Vader's TIE (the current one) 3. Imperial Dropship (i LOVE this one...or maybe just the Shadow Trooper LOL) Sets that i'd LIKE to own: 1. Death Star 2. UCS Falcon 3. Rebel Y-Wing (last year's, I'm not liking the Republic (CW) version as much as i thought i would) Sets I can't wait for: 1. TIE Defender 2. Imperial Hoth battlepacks (I need me some Snowtroopers!) 3. Echo Base (the current one with the Tauntaun...i'm waiting for the cash to get one LOL) Sets i WISH they'd make: 1. E-Wing 2. Predator Class TIE Fighter (from the Legacy comics, IMO almost as good, if not BETTER than the Defender) 3. Sith Meditation Sphere (or anything from the KOTOR era...) -
Beautifully done! The saucer section (indeed the whole ship) looks spectacular!

8033 General Grievous Starfighter Mini Model review
Lord_Bloodwort replied to Matt Dawson's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I almost like the alternate one better than the original! Great job! I just realized it reminds me of the Cobra Gunship from the GI Joe Rise of Cobra movie. Great job! :) -
I'd just like to add i don't understand the use of Tan pieces they included for the older TIE Fighters...why not just gray like the rest of it? Or Blue for that matter?
-
I'd have to say Grievous (even though i have two of him), and Ventress...She's supposed to be lean, sleek and almost spidery...granted Lego isn't meant to be accurate, but she almost looks like a South Park version of herself. I wasn't too crazy about the Rogue Shadow (Vader's Apprentice's ship from Force Unleashed) I'm sure it has potential, but like the Twilight, the design is just...WTF?! I'd include Jango Fett in here, but for the sole reason he's so ridiculously rare. And I dunno about anyone else, but my TIE Fighter pilot helmet looks like it was stamped just before the mold wore out...or it was taken out and smoothed before it cooled properly. A Shadow Trooper helmet has more definition to it! The Mars Mission Aliens are pretty high on the hate list as well (i'm not sure if this is SW specific figures that are hated, but the Mars boogers really stink)

What more can i say except AWESOME work!!!

The most "wanted" LEGO Star Wars villain
Lord_Bloodwort replied to parchioso's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Revan and Malak...Revan taught Darth Bane (by holocron at any rate) But i second (third or whatever number it's up to now) the Printed Legs Boba (i only have a humble keychain to go with my Slave I...i gave the actual minifigure to a friend of mine's kid. It was the same figure, only without the pin holding it together How about a "Pre-Cyborg" Grievous, like the 4 inch figure line did...they could even use that one Space police skull guy helmet again And what about the Weequay Skiff Guards? (Or the other ones that got knocked into the Sarlaac, since the Weequays have been made recently) Darth Talon from the Legacy Comic book (AND it'd be a good excuse to start making lego Twi'leks in general!) -
Petition: We want the Pirates Advent Calender in the United States
Lord_Bloodwort replied to Bonaparte's topic in LEGO Pirates
I picked up the City one for the first time ever last year, and i LOVED it. I wish they made the advent calendars for the other themes, AND make them available in Canada! I would personally love a pirate (or heck SPACE POLICE..might as well try right? LOL) one as well! a Canadian Brickhead (that's right...Canadians have money too! LOL) Lord_Bloodwort And why not do a Star Wars Advent Calendar? Hasbro combined the two with Galactic Heroes, and Santa is unlockable in Lego SW II, so why not? ok ok i just wanna see a snowman made out of three different sized Death Stars.
